I can't believe Elite dangerous has the most playtime. I went to Sag-A and am currently going back to the core but I didn't think I'd been in the game that long.
Honestly I thought FFXIV would have more total playtime. I'm surprised TF2 and warframe somehow have more playtime total than ARR. I figured Terraria might have the most given how many times I've restarted and delved deep into my autism.

I don't really use Steam much except for multiplayer games. Also Shitman because I had money to blow and didn't want to wait for it to be cracked.
At least it's not hundreds or thousands of hours I guess, but still. Also, whether you pirate or buy, get Infinite Air if you like snowboarding games at all.
The Dark Souls hours are legit, but I wasnt the only one that played it on my PC.

To be fair I haven't played Hat Fortress since I think the sniper update, nor MW2 in years and have dozens of games in the 100h realm (including 98 hours of wargame, so wargame + air land battle + red dragon = 616 hours… I don't regret it).

I legitimately have no fucking idea why I have 69 hours in Magicka. I can't recall leaving it on in the background and I've played like, three hours of it. The rest are accurate, although a good 15-20 hours in New Vegas and Terraria were probably me forgetting I had it on in the background while doing other stuff.

I don't spend a whole lot of time playing on Steam (i've only got 43 games in my library atm). In FFXIV though, I've clocked in a grand total of 399 hours and I haven't even finished the post-HW content either
I've mostly been playing on my PS4 for the past month or two. I just finished Senran Kagura Peach Beach Splash's main story and I need to finish the Paradise Episodes and V-Road Challenges now.
No idea how many actual hours I've put into it because there's no game-time tracking in the game or on the PS4. My final clear time for Persona 5 was 95 hours. Can't recall my other PS4 game times.
For my 3DS, my times system times are fucked up since I had to change systems after my last one died. However, I DO have a little over 730 hours into MH4U and HAD 367 hours in MH3U and about 150 in MHGenerations but when my microSD corrupted I lost the MH3U & MHG Data I had started playing MHG again some but I got tired of it. The fourth one with a 6:39 time is Animal Crossing New Leaf, which, again, I had WAY more time sunk into it on my last 3DS, about 100 hours.

My eternal shame is that Skyrim is still #1. I haven't touched it in over 2 years, but when it came out I spent over half that time just installing mods and trying to push my new rig graphically. in truth, I have more hours in Morrowind, it's just that I switched to OpenMW late last year and have gone through it almost two times since then. Steam doesn't record non-steam games though and OpenMW is its own program which just loads the loose files and doesn't touch the executable.

meta discussion regarding steam- I would be more concerned with steam being a problem if they were the only thing on the market. From about 2007 to about 2012 GoG and humble bundle didn't really make that much noise on the radar. Digital distribution for consoles was effectively segregated from PC and release dates were a lot more funky back then.
Fast forward to year of our lord 2017 I think pretty much every major publisher has its own digital distributor. You have EA/blizzard's battlenet, Ubisoft's uplay, Xbox's windows 10 store and probably more I don't know about. Never mind shitty free to play games and smaller indie companies who choose to digitally distribute. The whole steam refund policy is a step in the right direction and while the U.K. or whatever European state was up their ass about it I don't think it's an accident that Origin and GoG came out with a pretty open refund policy and steam followed suit not long afterwards.
As far as "muh piracy" I don't usually go out of my way to pirate stuff if I can buy it for a reasonable price and if the publisher isn't complete shit that loads the game up with DRM. I will use piracy as a form of demo if a publisher doesn't have a demo available.
