Why is this game so fucking difficult?

Why is this game so fucking difficult?

Because it wasn't made by gaijins for normalfags.

...

Because it's intended for restarting with a higher level.
It's honestly not that hard, and if want to activate easy mode just do the small chainsaw trick. Escorting survivors means you need to clear out zombies before they wander through and keeping a few queens to clear out the horde they got stuck in without killing them. Also, tell them to go to a point so they beeline towards it instead of wandering around Frank's general area.

It's not. Japs just aren't good at making shooters, so the combat with psychopaths was gimped. A lot of gook games have a similar theme. Playing the game the way you're meant to is seemingly impossible, but you can easily break it by doing retarded shit. For example: those convicts in the car. Trying to fight them normally is like bashing your head against a wall. They have a car and a mounted machine gun, while you have a bass guitar. Most people would just run past them. Then again, you can stand behind a tree and take them out with a handgun like it's nothing.
Maybe it's the asian antbrain but a lot of their design choices seem backwards.

You mean the best? Kys normalfag.

Like what?

It isn't really. The game does not really want first time players doing everything from the start, so you suffer for trying. You're meant to fuck around, save what survivors you can, beat what psychopaths you can and then when your run ends, restart with a more leveled Frank. Once you have played the game enough, you can save every survivor, beat every boss and do all the cases from level 1.

All non lightgun Japanese shooters are absolutely garbage tbh. Even RE4, shitty controls and horrendous design after you left the village.

Because wasn't made for modern soyboys but people that liked videogames. If you started playing games after 2007 its not made for you.

How shit could you possibly be?

Because you suck.

Is it even possible to save all the survivors in one go?

...

Yes

the AI is notoriously bad. but at least Frank has a real personality, instead of being LE EPIC RANDUM REDDIT MINIGOLF XDDD retard that he is later because that's what happens when you give a good franchise to westerners.

also the psychopath fights were interesting and memorable, unlike the rest of the series.

Just grind a playthrough or two and it's easy to get the best ending, lazy nigger.

My man!

Technically no, you have at least one person that can't be saved if you go for an all survivor playthrough. It's either Barnaby or that infected girl opportunity since you can't get the Latino girl to help her unless Barnaby dies.

bump

Some faggots worship Nips as if they can do no wrong, they could shit on a plate and weebs would consider it white fish in white wine sauce

Its really not the problem is the AI for protecting people, and them getting stuck on absolutely everything.

I remember reading that the entire genesis of Frank was that they wanted him to be different from the regular Jap protagonists who were chosen ones or pretty-boys with plenty of skills. They wanted him to be "just some guy" and that's what made me love him so much.

Real talk did using the katana on psychopaths really not occur to some people? It's practically made for cutting down bosses I mean thats without just using the sniper rifle.

Like how do you talk hot shit about a game without bothering to learn the mechanics of said game or being so obvious that you don't know what you're talking about?

my little brother 100% completed the game with no help from me when he was 12.

personally, having 100% them both as well, i'm more of a fan of 2.

Heh. good post. I attempted fighting the clown with chainsaws when I was too low level and what ended up happening was I led him downstairs where that toddler playground was and I picked up the oversized padded building blocks that did 1 damage and I threw them at him hundreds of times to kill him. It took 30 minutes.

It's not. I beat the PC port recently on first try and saved about half of the survivors. Granted I did play it once already on the 360, and I did have the mini-chainsaws and books to work with, but the point stands. The campaign, aside from one or two tight deadlines, is almost impossible to fail. Mouse and keyboard reduce the frustration of some psychopath fights considerably. (Carlito and the sniper family come to mind.)

There's a few design oversights like that that make it far too easy to beat some bosses, but some of them I suspect are intentional. I beat Carlito's first battle by hiding in the kiosk and throwing plates at him in between his volleys. More enterprising players might look around the Food Court for a gun, stock up on pistols beforehand, try to outflank him while Brad keeps him pinned, or bum rush him with a katana and ample healing items. On the other hand, they give you a safe haven with infinite plates and a bunch of wine.

How would you know? Oh, never mind. OP's a (1) and done so he probably just came here to bait. Whatever, we got some nice discussion out of it.

It's not hard enough. It would be a great deal of fun if all but the most basic items didn't respawn. It would force you to plan ahead and keep track of more things.

There are a couple rough parts, the only part of the game I think is bullshit is if you don't have ample time left on your timer before you fight Isabella it ends the story mode after you beat her. I was squeaking in a couple survivor rescues before I went to fight her and I lost the next case, which is horse shit. The point of a timer is to tell me how much room I have to do stuff before I get punished for not handling shit, but even when you play within it's confines you get punished.

Because it's designed to be mastered while being generous with the tools to do so. The hidden weapons, shortcuts, and respawning high powered boss weapons are just the start of it. Experience points and levels are saved through playthroughs so you're continually playing through the game until you're good at it. This may be offsetting for many (((casuals))), but it's ultimately by design. In short the game expects you to find the cracks in its design and exploit them.

I don't see it on the catalog, I checked older archives and it's not there either.
Holy shit, 4/v/ has gotten so bad.
