the stage design is pretty decent aside from Team Chaotix's
giving enemy robots ridiculously high hit points to force strength formation just served to slow the game right the fuck down. What they should have done was create enemy behaviors that favored different approaches instead of just being tanks

Locking the final chapter behind not just all four player teams, but also getting all the emeralds in a terrible physics-glitchy implementation of the half-pipe was also a bad idea

3 and Revenge are both better than Paradise
2 is the weakest of the original trilogy, its a godsend compared to what came after Reach though

Aside from just having a bigger personal attachment to Adventure 2. I think Adventure 2's gameplay is an improvement over Adventure 1's in just about every way.

The two changes that people seem not to like I don't have much of a problem with.
Giving you the somersault made it so you can't spam the Spin dash as easily, and the treasurer hunting radar was nerfed because honestly having all 3 emerald shards showing at once made things far too easy.

mm no, it's too easy and too small to be better than 3. Nero is overpowered as fuck for normalfags and Dante comes in way too late even if he had proper levels.

It's genuine 10/10 material from every perspective aside from being toaster friendly because of Housemarque's hard-on for particles. Addictive, solid and varied as hell and one of the best twin-stick shooters of all time. Unfortunately it didn't receive the same reverse-psychology of unskilled journos or E3 announcements like Cuphead did, and its arcade-like structure where you need to play through everything in one go (or creditfeed your way through like a little bitch) unfortunately makes it a turn-off for a lot of people.

It's like you have no principals. Reach retconned the books that released alongside CE and introduced a lot of the bullshit that made Halo multi not Halo anymore. Halo 3 was the natural evolution of the game and Halo Reach may as well have been a different series because 343 already had its claws dug in.

It was a FMV point and click game. In fact its hardly really a game and doesn't run on anything and the logic puzzles where poorly designed. Even the "updated" ports are garbage that are a pain in the ass to get running on modern hardware. The only selling point back in the day was the "Amazing" pre-rendered graphics. Its practically the "Gone Home" of the 90's. Sure it has some significance historically but its aged aged poorly.

Uncoordinated casual faggots like Totalasscancer, Yahtzee and Gayzorfist constantly talk about how they love these games. They require no hand eye coordination or skill and are the goto titles for pseudo intellectuals who want to FEEL important. They are not on their own totally bad games, their is a reason why they have become a meme for kiddies to use as status symbols. But its just another form of virtue signaling to their leftist comrades that they are of the pc mustard taste perspiration. Together on a comprehensive list lack any real diversity of taste that a true practitioner would have. Together the list is pure Reddit. All the nerd needed to do is replace Quake 3 with Thief the Dark Project and absolute true fedora core would be established. Part of that is very true. As far as poorly designed puzzles go, the only one that comes to mind is the maze. It was incredibly tedious and completely halted flow of the game, I don't think anyone has ever enjoyed that part. Also, the fact that the game is a bitch and a half to get running is pretty terrible. For a game that should run on practically any electronic device of the past 20 years, every attempt to make it easily playable on modern computers has fallen pathetically flat.

You are completely talking out of your ass with everything else though. The pre-rendered graphics allowed for a lot of striking imagery that's oozing with creativity and mystery, and they only got better in the sequel. Many shitty multimedia PC games tried to copy it after the fact, but precious few managed to capture the same alien feeling of isolation that Myst did. The game would not have been able to build its world and atmosphere as effectively as it did if it used the same graphics as other point and click games, either those of the time or ahead of its time. RealMyst is proof of this. Also,
That's just plain retarded and you know it, user. There were zero puzzles in Gone Home that required any thinking. Myst was famous for stumping casuals and confusing idiots, something the handholding of Gone Homo would feel ashamed of doing for fear of "alienating players". Gone Homo also doesn't even have a lose state, making it effectively one linear story with one single ending that you can't lose so long as you throw a couple hours at it. At no point during that game do you ever need to take notes or remember small details that aren't 100% spelled out for you. That's not even mentioning the flimsy story about AWOL lesbians tying all of this mess together, and your payoff for trudging through all of that is a shitty fade to black while you twiddle your thumbs in an attic like a dumbass.

Meanwhile, there are two shitty endings to Myst and one true one that can be easily missed the first time around. Even if the puzzles feel dated at times, they're at least actual fucking puzzles. All of the pages you gather have a purpose for stringing the story along, and it can differ depending on which one you decide to grab. At the end of all of that (assuming you didn't fuck up), there was a promise of something great on the horizon, a story that was going to unfold into much more. It wasn't a hollow promise either, as Riven did exactly that and pretty much blew Myst out of the fucking water in every respect possible. They are night and day not only in terms of the amount of skill behind each of them, but also in the level of care that was put into them. The Myst games were actually games. Gone Homo was nothing more than a bunch of shitty hipsters arriving 15 years late to the party and piggybacking on others hard work and originality to peddle a vastly inferior product. If you don't like the game then that's fine, but if you're going to call it shit at least back up your shitty opinion with something other than a parroted Holla Forums meme.

Can you anons explain to me the mind set you have to be in to like Dark messiah: MaM? Morrowind has pretty much ruined me for many rpgs because I just want to fuck off, and make my own story. Even when I do follow the story I like to be able to go off the rails for long periods. I played dark messiah, and at one point a box fell on the head of an npc girl I was escorting, and the game gave me a game over. I didn't play long after that.

First Mechwarrior game I could reliably get to work with a HOTAS. While MW2 will always be my first love in the genre, there was a lot of QOL that needed fixed like persistent weapon grouping.

When I got my Genesis, one of the games my mom grabbed on clearance alongisde it was Gunstar. Unfortunately it spoiled me on the console. Nothing else looks nearly as good.
One of my oldest NES games, and the first one I actually managed to beat, on a black and white TV no less. Was an absolute bastard to manage in monochrome
First game console I can honestly say was mine and mine alone was my GBA. Scrimped all my paper route money to get it, and then had to wait a whole month to buy a game proper, and this was it. I beat the shit out of the game, even completing The Arena in Magician mode.

Ones that are close but don't quite make it are Chrono Trigger, Earthbound, Soulblazer, S3&K, Sengoku Rance, and Persona 4.

These four are my personal GOAT, in order.

I think Shadow Hearts has a really great combat system and I love that all the enemies look like they should have been in a horror game. The pacing is really good too, the game never feels like its dragging on.

Gotcha Force is probably my favorite game ever. There are just so many dudes to play as and leveling up gives you better weapons occasionally and there are a bunch of unique colors to collect.

Illbleed is the penultimate haunted house themed video game. It's spooky, it's goofy, it's got a bunch of secrets. I don't think anything could possibly surpass it except for an HD remake.

And I think Dead State was a really cool game even if it was super shitty and dated on release. It was kind of interesting to switch between different characters and events happening while offline kept things fresh. I stopped playing the game and a week later the streets were thick with roaming hordes, several of the homes in my neighborhood became infestation sites, and one of the friendly factions down the road was completely taken over.

I started playing Etrian 2 Untold and it's my new favorite. I think the labyrinth feels more organic, I love that you have tons of classes to pick from, and the monsters are really fun to fight against.

It's one of the games I played more then anything else but that game is essentially dead now, and I don't like the idea of naming something my favorite on past memories alone.
