All I want is an arcade style non grind tank Vidya where I can fight Abrams with old Soviet t-62 or t-55.

A grind is pretty much guaranteed for these f2p games.
What I want is for that grind to be enjoyable, if I'm making sense. There was a time, when I very first played WoT some time around closed beta, I didn't care that I was a terrible for the first 3 tiers or never got kills, or that I got friendly fire'd, or even the balance. All the way from tier 1 to tier 6 I was having so much fun.
Then I took a small hiatus and came back a while after they started going all out with the premium tanks, I wasn't having fun. I wasn't penetrating anything and the game showed its cracks that I was overlooking because of my enjoyment. Tried making a new account, it was somehow less enjoyable than stock tier 7.

I want a new BattleTanx game. Complete with post apocalyptic waifus and a cheesy story.

Late 90's and early 2000's were the golden age of Tank games and in particular mods. Still remember drifting a Stuart round Stugs in the North Africa Theatre in Forgotten Hope Mod, as well as ambushing a column of Panthers with a Cromwell hidden in a bush during Market Garden.

Call to Arms is a tactical RTS with the option of directly controlling units. It leans toward a janky sort of realism, but I'd rather be playing this than a slavshit tank game. The unlock grind is mostly irrelevant, thankfully, though it can be skipped entirely and played offline with LAN if you own the full game.

Walking tanks:

-MechWarrior 4: Mercenaries kicks all sorts of ass. I was oblivious to the Battletech franchise before this. I found this on an abandonware site and loved it. Has a replayable campaign, a customizable horde mode, and a multiplayer component with AI bot support. Get this with the MekTek packs for a metric fuckton of extra mechs and there are tons of community maps hosted by Clan Coyote. You'll have to fiddle around a bit with the control bindings if you don't use a joystick.

-MechWarrior: Living Legends is for you if you want online multiplayer and are a glutton for punishment. It got a minor boost in popularity recently after a semi-popular YouTuber gave it some attention.

-Avoid MechWarrior Online as it is the same freemium dogshit as a slav tank game.

MW4Mercs is planned for a gamenight by the way. Fags are trying to see if it works better via GoyRanger or Direct IP.

As far as I can tell it's translating mouse movements to keys/sticks, ala the original horrible RE4 port

Mouse movements aren't digital, but it is translated to simulate joystick movement. This is a mech simulator intended to be used with a joystick, after all. Sluggish and weighty aim are a deliberate part of the gameplay.

I've had that bug a few times back when I started playing, which wasn't long ago. Research can be somewhat bugged in other ways. For instance, there were several times where I didn't receive research after a battle until I restarted the game, upon which I'd receive research points for ALL battles "stored up", which resulted in like 2-3 thousand points.

Those morons changed the text in the booster description, as announced in the changelog of an update they did, but somehow, don't ask me how, they managed to break boosters so that they weren't running out anymore so you could stack as many as you wanted, I used all of mine and played through the entire night and researched the T54 entirely and part of the IS-3, then felt satisfied with myself, went to bed, and it was fixed when I woke up. You can always count on Gaijin fucking up, but once in a blue moon it benefits you.

Soldner has some pretty fun vehicle combat in it. It's been proposed as a gamenight a few times for Holla Forums but only has PVP modes unlike JO which has both PVP and Coop. Best way to describe it is if you took Red Faction's destruction and JO's radical developed by a bunch of German /k/ommandos in the early 2000s. It's also the first game that has the fish gun in it.

Of course there would be combined arms. It would be Steel Fury but better.

Not to sound like a shill or a graphics whore, but I have to give props to Wargaming for these visuals. A stunning example of how good art direction trumps visual fidelity. It's all about the little details and a great color pallet adding up to something very good looking. Unfortunately, WoT is still WoT.

The grass draw distance is still abhorrent and the texture filtering is also comparable to consoles. The textures look like they're clay from anything further than 10 meters.

Sure the lighting, tessellation and vegetation are pretty neat. But they fucked it all up.
Also the photoscanned mountains outside of the map borders, are abhorrently low quality.
