Do you flip your drawing as you're drawing? Doing it every few minutes(or seconds) could help you catch things like that, otherwise just keep in mind that objects get bigger as they come closer to our POV. The forearm should be larger than the upper arm and the hand should be bigger than both.

Yeah I do. It was pissing me off so I just ran with it to get it done instead of scrapping things like usual.

Sometimes I use weighted lines other times I don't. This particular case would likely benefit a lot since there are things close to foreground and far in background. Weighting those lines would make foreshortening more obvious. Thin lines work well for a "chinese cartoons" aesthetic but are usually broken up, whereas none of the important outer lines in that drawing are broken up so it looks kinda like a coloring book page.

Clean, hard lines usually have such a strict and deliberate intent to every line while softer sketchy lines can get away with imperfections with an overall less-focused aesthetic. I dunno, soft, sketchy lines seem non-committal compared to clean, hard lines. The latter leaves less up to the interpretation of the viewer. I see more people favoring a sketchy aesthetic likely because it is easier not to commit to hard definitive lines.

I am mediocre at best and don't have a style so I fuck around with various stylizations and ape the aesthetics of others. Feels more flexible, but it's also unidentifiable. Like, you're not gonna recognize my shit and it gets misidentified as the "style" of others because I have no style. I have no grace. This drawfag has a funny face /blogpost
