the only thing bad about that boss is being petrified but do a bunch of 360s and you get out faster

This panders to my fetish kinda
Are there any more bosses like this in this game?

2 bosses on expert to go
then I'll aim for all As
then all S

This is a feeling of personal achievement I haven't had in at least 10 years. Time to get started on P-ranks.

P ranks are easy

Would you rather drink out of Cuphead or Mugman?

Queen Bee is fuck easy you turbo nerds. Aim down on the last phase jesus fuck.

Jesus christ my near-shitpost got holy quads

I don't trust mugman's big nose tbh

Bluto

Megaman 2 Dragon

Vulture

Flower

Cala Maria

Reminder that charged shot completely breaks the game, and you don't know the true difficulty of the final bosses if you were using it.

nigger just use lobb and getaround on expert and its the easiest shit ever. you can charge shot instead of getaround

Cala Maria is def best girl

nice le facebook le meme fellow le memer

That's why you shouldn't use it, you nigger. All bosses must be beat with peashooter and no items.

Cuphead score 1 on metacritic

It's probably the hipster who shat up the previous thread with game theory and RNG rants.

To be fair some of the bosses are pretty sloppy in their design, like the casino ones.
I doubt that reviewer even got that far though.

after fucking around on Dice Man in expert I've come to the conclusion that the easiest mini-bosses before Dice man are 2-4-8 (the stack of chips, the dominos and the 8-ball)
You can go for this 3 mini bosses and lose no lives easily, getting an easy S. You can either ignore the heart gains or retry spam until you get hearts on at least 2 of those.

...

I did cigar, dominoes, roulette. Smoke Bomb makes roulette trivial.

Wasn't there smutty pictures of her in black and gray? IIRC they came out when the first trailers were around.
Anyhow, Dr. Kahl's a best. His laughter man, his fucking laughter.

i don't know how you can say that when you can't beat bosses and get an s rank without using supers and ex/fireballs

Sempai approves.

do you both have brain cancer?

i went Charge/Spread, Spreaded 8-ball and Dice Man , the rest used Charge.

Stacked Chips is objectively easiest and fastest for S rank

That's a fast reply.

Is it worth a buy? Not gonna risk a pirate this early.

if you think the dragon is hard, don't buy because you're fucking retarded.

yes, its highly playable and has good replay so even if its short, its got the CLASSIC game feel that lets you pick up and play and have fun

It's worth it. It's excellent
you'll beat it in 6 (average, could be more, could be less) and do expert in another 4/5
Then you get another 2 hours of grabbing coins and misc achievements.

This is just for regular and expert clear. If you want all S rank you have another couple of hours there.

It's overall an excellent game. hollow knight and cupheads are indie GOTYs

Gee if the score is higher, it means you're doing better boy!

I wouldn't know if the Dragon's hard if I haven't played it, which would require buying it because torrents aren't out yet.
>implying hard is bad

I liked Bluto because it had big adds that later on he threw at a faster rate, and the mechanics stacked up (barrel, bluto's gun, summoned add)
I liked the Actress on a Play boss because phase 1 was just her mechanics then it stacked with the mechanics of the background, as a little metaphore of responsibilities stacking as you marry. I also liked how she was an intro to parry-to-survive along with the tom and jerry fight.
I'd have to put favorite plane fight then favorite normal fight

I liked them all with the exception of The bee and the Train. The train took too long, phase 1 is boring, and the bee is just not a fun fight, mainly because of RNG with platforms (sometimes there will be spaces with no platforms)

Many bosses had RNG, like Bluto's summoned add, Cala Maria's summoned friend of choice (horse, turtle or pufferfish), but it was not bad RNG, that was all to keep it fresh and on your toes. bad RNG is the mouse fight because if you want S you gotta retry until he starts with the catapult to get 2 early parries for score.

Honestly I liked all of the fights except bee and train, Isle 1 all fights are good. Isle 2 bepi the clown can be meh but the rest are great. Isle 3 is all excellent except those two I mentioned.

The devil was fun, but slightly anticlimactic at the end, was expecting a grand finale final phase. Dice-man was a gauntlet more than anything, but it was proper for penultimate boss or at least for the final isle.

torrents are out you retardo, its that stupid retards think dragon is hard when harder bosses exist like the totally not iron giant boss

...

You scored a 10 on the faggot millennial scale, congratulations

He only scored a 2/10 if you used a logarithmic scale

The core difference between scores and achievements is that scores didn't usually have a maximum, skilled players could always squeeze out a few more. Cuphead would've done better with a score system, because right now the only thing I feel is a major drawback of the game is the fact that there's a checklist of things that you need to do - you HAVE to use 6 special attacks, you HAVE to do 3 parries etc. Give it a few months and the boss kill time will be the only thing people will still be improving.

There's nothing wrong with playing this game on easy mode because you don't get contracts and can't progress on anything but normal or expert so it's less than a practice run, since the fights are shorter too and have less phases

When I can get the Charger upgrade? Bought smoke bomb and Spread shoot at the beginning, but when I get more coins, I want to get it, seeing how much it os recommended.

the one after homing shots, then you can buy charge. charge is the fuckin best if the boss isn't moving everywhere

Should have enough by world 2 if you don't spend the coins on stupid shit

Thanks

...

…or Mickey Mouse

I'd say both.

Anime has come a long way.

Any tips on the tutorial guys

It was inspired by Felix the Cat cartoons, not Disney's Steamboat Micky or other trash everyone keeps referencing.

Maybe you could tell us what fetish you mean?

what the hell is a P rank

Get through a Run n' Shoot level without shooting a single bullet and you'll get a P rank

Pacifist. You get it by killing absolutely nothing in the run & gun sections.

Can you cheese these with coffee+super II?

If you're willing to wait for it to charge, sure.
But you have to use a pink mushroom spore and parry jump off of it to get over the Acorn Machine in the first level. The game doesn't let you just walk past it.

why

The only place where I found myself having to use super II was funfair fever to run past everything in the shooting gallery part.
I find the two extra hearts to be more useful than coffee, especially in tanking through some mini-bosses that I can't find a way over, who also happened to be in the funfair level.

If the colors trigger you because they don't look exactly like in the old days, there's actually both a B&W and a Technicolor modes to be unlocked.

why would you post that man here do you want to be bullied? also the game is fantasic but fug i need to get gud

its not the colors but the CA

...

Saw a music video with that cartoon recently

While it's at least not full priced, it's still not really worth a buy. Beatable in a few hours and with very little replay value. It's not as good as something like Metal Slug and in terms of being a side-scrolling shooter the gameplay is pretty meh, but that being said it's decent while playing it, so definitely give it a pirate.

If you want to actually talk about this game it might take a few weeks as we're in the stage of release where everyone is sucking it off purely for being what they're currently playing.

Half the bosses are easy as piss how shit can these people be

There's a 0-10 slider in the options.

Is CA one of those things that only certain people perceive or am I just blind?

Shhhh, let him whine on Holla Forums in peace. Geez, it's like you have to explain yourself to be negative around here.

how the fuck do you dodge the huge saw?

...

So… blur?

I really can't play this game until there's a total graphical replacement mod or something. I don't care that it's cartoony, but that one highly specific early mickey mouse artstyle makes me cripplingly depressed for reasons I can't even begin to fathom.
It's like…staring at death.

kinda, mixed in with that "rainbow" effect

Not everything that's retarded is bait you know. Sometimes a faggot is just a faggot.

It makes it look like a 3D movie but you aren't wearing 3D glasses. I turned it off immediately because it's fucking wretched to look at for many fights.

It's more than just blur-its like an odd burn of color and unfocused light…

Look up the word "Chroma" and it'llmake sense, I'm pretty sure it's Latin.

CALA MARIA LEWDS WHERE

S-ranks are more of a mountain to climb than I had anticipated, the time requirement on some of them is brutal.

The last thread made that obvious and it looks like this thread will too.

Djimmi, best visuals and a pretty good theme to boot. I liked the way he kept shaking things up

It'd have to be Dr. Kahls, really fits but it's just a shame the boss starts off strong but then kind of turns to much in the last phase, which is also the fucking longest.

I really really got hung up on Beppi for longer than I'd care to admit. And if it wasn't the clown then it had to be Wally the vulture. The break through point for me was when I realized I could shoot under the medic birds and bit his ass hanging out there.

Also, does anyone else get a feeling that the Casino/Hell was meant to be its own world but schedule constriction made them jam the first phase of all the bosses they had together into the gauntlet run? I mean it wasn't badly executed for all intents and purposes but it seemed like the cutting room floor.
Also am I crazy or was this song never used in the game? I really do not remember it.

Not really, a gauntlet like that is a pretty classic decision for a penultimate boss fight. Their arenas don't seem like they'd accommodate multiple phases anyway.

Bigger question about that fight I have is if you can roll sixes or not, since there's a graphic there for rolling triple sixes. Might just be a background detail but there's an achievement with the same name.

Not just yet.

Seems like she has better hips in the game

I'm seeing this game everywhere and it is not a good sign. While it is a step above, I feel like this is going to be the next victim of cancerous fan syndrome.

well enjoy it while it's still pure and fresh

The achievement is not getting hit at all and beating he gauntlet and Dice Man

I don't think SJWs and casuals will latch onto it.
It's too hard for them, depicts women as evil, they can't emulate cartoon style so tumblrites won't touch it, no sappy tumblr story, no homestuck fanbase

It should be safe.

Are you sure? I know I got A+ on King Dice and still didn't get it. Do you have to do all nine bosses in the gauntlet or something?

Fans of anything are obnoxious, I don't see why you'd let anyone else ruin your enjoyment of something unless it got really out of hand

That is the exact scenario I'm envisioning. Undertale, fnaf, etc.

If I see vore-based lewds of Werner Werman I might change my mind, but I doubt it's going to get anywhere near that level

Cuphead isn't sexy enough. People will do porn of animation animals and rabbit things, but not tubemen with cups for heads. I mean, there'll be a bit, but it's not gonna sweep the world. And without porn, the fanbase just isn't going to grow like that. Stuff like Zootopia or Undertale had truckloads of porn long before it even came out, so it's already got a clean track record already going.

i just checked
It's currently bugged in the steam version
but yes it is like that

This game isn't full of furrybait, leftism, pseudo-deep writing or faux gameplay.
The faggots that poz games will never come close to this

>getting my ass handed to me by most bosses and struggle on the run and gun stages especially when I try to heet perfect
Is it just me or is this game actually challenging? Have I just gotten worse at video games?

tfw still on the genie
should i try to kill the clown boss first or do the run & gun section or keep getting stuck on the last part of the genie or what
i know i need to git gud

What part of the genie are you stuck on?

The final phase with the eyeball pyramids
can you go in between his hands when he waggles them or will it damage you? i get there with like 2 hp remaining and then the lasers come out and zap me before i realize where theyre coming from

you've been playing casual shit for too long

If you wait to use your super the phase is over in like five seconds

I wouldn't say it's that bad until you get to Expert mode, but a lot of people seem to be having trouble with it, it's not just you

smoke bomb doesn't work for plane misisons, so make sure to equip coffee for the plane
you should use your Burs ASAP with coffee equipped for max DPS, but preferably rush through genie's last phase.
You can burst in red goo ghost spewing form and last form

Cuphead doesn't have a single steamboat willie reference

okay, so dont blow super on the sarcophagus, got it

i dont even think i have coffee. ill have to check my loadout next time i boot the game up

also is it bad that the boss i struggled the most on was the bouncing blue guy

No you dummy
use super on sarcophagus and final phase. just equip Coffee, coffee lets you super like 3 times per boss fight, and they usually die before you get the third

i
dont have coffee
time to go beat the run and gun stage to go buy it i guess

there's really no need to cheese it like that, just memorize his attack patterns and find a solution. It's good practice for the later bosses anyway.
Personally I find the mini plane to be a lifesaver for djinni, especially during the pillars phase.

Cuphead doesn't have "DEEPEST" LORE, ebin funi xd skeletons and furry main characters.
It probably wont go the same way as Undertale and Fnaf

Coffee is hardly cheesing considering you are switching for smoke dodge
Coffee is just best for plane

Reminder playing on easy is acceptable on this game because easy mode doesn't give you contracts to progress so it's akin to a practice mode

I guess that explains why there's no easy mode on dice king or the devil

Cala Maria is probably one of my favorite bosses visually. The way she starts jamming to the music in the second phase is amazing, and the format switch in the third phase is perfect.
However petrification and certain attack combos in phase 1 is cancer.

>Die 4 times in the beginning once due to her popping out of the center without warning fucking cheap but quickly dispatch her
The RNG platforms are bullshit but honestly that was pretty easy. The worst boss so far has been the train tbh, mainly because fuck the Ghosts and Pumpkins, and also because the first phase is so long and boring.

This game disappoints me, I was expecting levels leading up to a hueg boss like in shmups, but you just walk around a map selecting running stages or boss stages. There is no buildup, no transitions, no sense of progression, no nothing, it's just a pretty looking menu to select disjointed challenges.

large women

I was thinking the other day of the game having a campaign mode addon or something. First level is a run and gun, then the easier bosses from the Isle 1, second run and gun, harder bosses on Isle 1, proceed to Isle 2, etc.

You'd prefer having to trudge through four minutes of bland platforming just to get to the boss instead of getting to fight the boss immediately? The run and gun stages are by far the weakest thing in the game, if I had to go through one for every boss I'd hate it

I'll bite
pray tell, how were you disappointed if we've seen footage of the world hub and the structure of the game for years now?
the build-up is gameplay wise, as it should be, not story wise or any other bullshit.
either pretending or retarded. the bosses transition phases and the sense of progression is your own as you become better and get good, something a cuck like you who needs a level up to feel stronger will have a hard time comprehending.

Would only be cool if you earned credits along the way and had to do the whole thing in one go, no saving

In other words
All-star mode.

...

Wanted to rebuke his statements, whether he was stirring shit or not, that way other anons don't give the wrong answers and cause a shitposting chain explosion

You can easily solve that by having a checkpoint at the start of a boss, then unlocking the boss fight alone for the postgame. I just wanted some hype, like encountering the boss multiple times throughout the stage in a limited form to hype up the real deal at the end. The run and gun stages are the weakest part precisely because they're so disjointed. I dunno, I kinda wanted a Metal Slug style of buildup and payoff.

>Maria Callas

You expect everything to play out in one continuous direction like an arcade game? Do you even think you can handle 1cc'ing the whole game like that?

I would mostly assume it's a pun on calamari, not the actress

I beat the game with only the peashooter and smoke bombs, took me 230 deaths. Probably a good half were suicides after ruining the first phase.

u wot

Is completely safe, I can confirm.

already beat him
fuck this clown what the fuck that rollercoastrer goes so fuckin fast on the spinny chair part

you fags did the Zulu-26 achievement?

I did it on Hildaberg but i think genie would've been easier

How'd you get it?

You are supposed to stay on the chairs until it gone, then come down to fuck up the little clowns. Or just save the super and nuke everyone together

I did it on Aviary Action.

For user's who need some moolah or want the achievement
Cuphead all hidden coins locations:
imgur.com/gallery/lYeEc

Beat a plane-boss with only the Shrinked plane's mini gun.

this is like metal slug but more boring and less content
what am I missing here?

I don't really enjoy the gameplay but I've never been attracted to fast-paced 2D platforming shooters. I'm forcing myself through this because I like the art.

Cuphead has 19 bosses with 6 mini bosses, 6 run and gun stages, and 1 mini-game for getting powerups
Metal Slug has 6 missions with 6 bosses, equal to 6 levels, 6 mini bosses, and 6 bosses.

You're factually incorrect.
Also, apples to oranges. Cuphead is boss oriented, while Metal Slug is both stage+boss challenge.

Where's the magnet. For some reason I'm getting motion sick watching videos of this game and I'm not forking over money if thats the case I think its all the blurry artwork that seems out of focus

You can disable color bleeding.
Also, nigger just search rarbg or something holy shit, you want us to wipe your ass too?

previous thread if its still around

1 more boss for all A/A+ then I get all Steam Achievements
then moving to S ranks

Done. Now for S-ranks.
Shame Rolling Sixes is bugged. I wanted to clear that achievement first

This shit is a nightmare

tips:
1.- Clear the laser first. You can kill it before the first beam is even released
2.- Try and get middle and bottom down at the same time while getting free cards from parrying the middle bomb. if you have to do one first, do the bottom first.
3.- Super/Burst the heart. you'll have another Super for third phase from coffee and intermission with the head. Watch out for his head coming out after phase 1 is done
4.- Use the secondary weapon bombs for the head when going right, and hug top left and just shoot when he goes left
5.- For the final phase, burst before he starts using the diamonds, then just take your time to get him down. Always shrink when crossing the obstacles

Can I play as Mugman if I'm solo?

You left out that if you use the Bomb Super you can hit two parts at once. What I did was wear down the laser and chest piece a bit but broke the stomach, then I rushed around his chin/neck and I was able to take the two out at once with the splash damage.

Smooth as fuck.

I never knew that before now.

Is this guy playing on the easiest difficulty or something? I thought you guys said this game was hard. He's steamrolling them. And taking several hits and never dying. He kills some of these bosses in 20 seconds.

That's what the projectiles look like? They look like 3D effects that Disgaea 1 uses.

Can the frame rate be adjusted?

seriously this looks like a child could beat it

the framerate is uncapped, the chromatic abbreviation cannot be disabled only reduced through settings, you have to do pic related.

Even Bulldog figured that out and that's saying something.

Fix your fonts.

i kinda like the bad font rendering

Only noticed that when checking S-Rank out, helps a lot.

That's a mini-boss rush and that video is clearly edited, not a continuous playtrough.
Even if it was, watching the clip of of a person just succeding in something doesn't mean it was easy or he succeded in the first try.

there were hardly any projectiles on the screen, and the bosses only had one form of attack, very predictable. you guys talk about it like as if it's contra but it's more like modern mario family game.

Those are mini-bosses. Not so punishing or complex because your health carries over from one another until the end of that stage.
Pirate the game if you don't want to buy it (watching boss fights before buying, I'd guess you never planned to), play the first bosses that are about that level of difficulty and then come tell us if it's as easy as you're thinking it is right now.

...

I might be alone here, but I have the same weird randomly missing 1-3 inputs in a second or so problem that most Unity games have. I know for a fact that It's not related to frame rate, but it has something to do with asset loading while dealing with inputs.
Most games work just fine, it's just these few. And always precisely the same thing.
So why the fuck is it happening here? The whole level is loaded to the memory, so why do I get "loading stuttering" and "asset change twitching" here? What the fuck?

I didn't pick the degeneracy it picked me

How much RAM do you have?
I had crazy frame drops in Hollow Knight whenever particles were used. Cuphead just had some problems to me when first loading shit and on the Dragon bossfight.
I fixed the problem in Hollow Knight, by alt-tabbing, right clicking the desktop then clicking "refresh" a couple of times. Sometimes it just worked.

Oh shit. I just found the reason for really shitty framerate on already high memory-loaded assets in games, by just googling.
So "normally" (with a bag of salt) you would make unique glsl-shaders pre-rendered to your game, and save them to maybe in a folder like /gamedata/shaders.

But what do you do if you don't understand what a shader is? What if you just have a bunch of copied code from some forum or something? Well, you know it, I know it: Just copy paste it. So now your Unity-tier engine has to actually render the shader using the same glsl-script every time it is used. WTF. I hope I'm wrong here.

flower gives me PTSD from Battle Kid

I have free ram about 7Gb.
It's sad really. I had a problem with Skyrim when it got out, back in the day. but now it's patched and no one gives a shit. It gave me over 3Gb reserved ram on tesv.exe. Not it's down to 1,5 Gb max. with mods.

...

...

has anybody speedran the tutorial yet

probably a phone poster. if i owned Holla Forums i'd make it block out phones somehow. they're so lazy and retarded they never write a fucking word and when they do it's incomprehensible.

Yes. Current record is at 13s.

Damn, youtube really is cancer.

The end is fantastic, just skip to about 16:30 if you guys don't wanna watch it all.

Shit, I don't get those problems and I have just 4GB.

Wtf is this?

I heard he even hated doing animations so that´s why he ended doing something more "original", asperguer-lite let´s plays.
I bet my ass that Partridge will be the next one to jump to the cancer train.

Yesterday a lot of people told me that dragon was the hardest boss. Either

Considering I got my asses handed to me on a few bosses I doubt it's the last, but #2 seems like the best candidate. It made bee trivial too, with the caveat that I used homing shots for last phase. In the end my biggest issue with both was that I didn't have enough shit to parry.

Still though, the stage umbrella chick has to be the easiest boss sans the first two. Ratto would've also been trivial if it weren't for the shit RNG second phase. Funnily enough, I bursted on him once and got 0/6 special attacks.

The only good animators left is SpeedoSasuage, SrPelo,CartoonDavid, and Michael Cusack. And God do I miss Stamper

Fuck

Hardest boss for me on my first run was the robot. Fuck that shit.

Had a tough time with the frogs, no idea why

arent there only 12 soul contracts to collect? im still dealing with angry clown man but why is there more than 12?

...

Robot was fucking dissappointing, phase 3 was shit. What was even the difference between the different color crystals?

I just kept burst for head phase, finishes it instantly.

the rotation? blue was anti-clockwise and red was clockwise.

Yeah, I made the same mistake. Probably wouldn't have bothered trying to get an A on every boss if I knew the perfect rank was locked behind the highest difficulty.

They were full of shit, only hard part of the dragon fight is the third phase, and even that's not that bad.

Did they ever say 12, in dialogue or something? There are definitely seventeen bosses between the three islands, nineteen counting Mr. King Dice and the Devil.

I'm used to basic bullet patterns, I'm not used to those patterns being obscured by large foreground objects

...

huh, i guess it didn't say, i must of somehow jargoned up the midnight 12 into thinking there was 12 souls.

So am I the only one who refuses to use the invisible dash, just because I don't like losing track of Cuphead like that?

You sure about that, user?

That's what we call, "bait", friend.

Fuck Xbox One. Immediately when I bought Cuphead, the console glitched so I can't download any games.

Fuck, could've fooled me. Bully away, then.

Forced humor, he is shit.

Smoke grenade becomes a pain in the king dice fight, exactly because you need to time the distance of the dash perfectly. Plus the coffee is awesome for that fight.

Just got through the first world. It's been pretty touch killing the bosses so far. Took me up to 8 tries to get past some of them on normal.

The 3 parry requirement is complete bullshit in some fights. Sometimes they simply don't send out enough pink attacks before they're beaten, meaning you need to purposefully take longer in the fight, which means you're risking fucking up the time limit AND making yourself more likely to get hit.

Can you think of any examples? I don't think I've ever sat through a fight where I didn't see three parryable objects before the end.

Rat was one of the first designed bosses, prob why it's easy.

Hilda Berg was the most infuriating example, since for the first 90% of the fight she doesn't have any pink attacks herself and you have to depend on the enemies flying in. Quite often they got defeated by a hail of shots or a missile I'd sent out before they even got on screen, meaning I just didn't get any of the pink bullets they might have shot. Technically I'm sure there were enough of them that I would have gotten enough pink shots, but there's little I can do if they fly in right into the path of a fucking missile I've just let loose.

And during one fight with the flower whose name I forget, he for some reason didn't do his gatling seed gun attack before he transformed. And then he only shot out two pink attacks during his second form before he died.

Luckily both of those are pretty simple fights, all things considered, but it still pissed me off that I finally made it through unscathed and then had to do it over again for the A+.

Agreed. The Parry requirement should be removed.

blue adds throw pink shots
last phase, there are pink stars that are fairly frequent, more-so than the pink shots

It's perfectly ok to just stall last phase until you get 1 pink star (you should have two pink shots by then)

How fucking fast did you kill his first form? That seems impossible, it's like the first attack he does.

Is the game actually good or is it just overhyped? I fail to see how it's such a big deal, aside from the artstyle it looks like an average platformer

Most of the time it was the first attack he threw. Which is why it was very confusing when the pattern he went for one fight was the attack where he stretches across the top of the screen, a string of three whirlybird/flying seed attacks, and then bottom row attack, and then transformation. I didn't defeat him any faster than normal, he just didn't do that attack for some fucking reason.

It's not a platformer, and we don't need a dozen posts like this every thread. Pirate it and play it for yourself if you want to.

That's fucking weird, man, must have been a bug, those attacks should only happen in his second phase.

It's a pretty decent platformer with solid boss fights. Wish it had longer levels.

It's fun, go pirate the game if you're curious.

(checked)
If it's not a platformer then what the hell is it?

It's a boss rush. There are nineteen mandatory boss fights and six optional run and gun stages. You do the run and gun stages to earn coins to buy upgrades but they're totally voluntary.

A Contra-style boss parade.

There's a few platforming levels in it but it's mostly about the bosses

It's good but shallow. It's not amazing as a side-scrolling shooter but fun nonetheless. Though it's really damn short and has almost no replay value.

It's good. If you like 2d shooter platformers, the OST and the art direction are great. wished it was a little longer, perhaps 1 final full isle, but other than that worth the money if you ask me.

the fuck are you talking about
there's Expert mode after you beat it, then there's getting all S ranks. There's replay value, not a "different spec" playthrough kind of replay value, but definitely revisitting old bosses on harder difficutly then getting perfect score.
much more of value than fucking Furi at 25 bucks for the little content it has.

Why would you give him attention?

I earned that super attack then figured out it does a fuckton of damage overall. It was pretty interesting.

Yeah seriously. Like, what the hell. I've seen more posts in the vein of "LOL IS IT ACTUALLY GOOD? I SUCK TOO MUCH COCK TO TRY IT FOR MYSELF. TO BAIT YOU TO REPLY I'LL SAY IT LOOKS GENERIC OR SHITTY" than I've seen normal fucking discussion.

That's not replay value. That's just playing the game. There is no fun to be had, and no incentive, to play the same levels after you've beaten them to their fullest. If we go by your logic DMC4 has replay value out the ass by virtue of its difficulty levels. But nobody sane would say that's "replay value" they'd call it playing it again on a different difficulty.
You will not pick up Cuphead again in the future and have fun with it again. It's a single experience.

...

Except you haven't beaten them to their fullest you gargantuan mongoloid.
There's replay value in replaying the same in another difficulty, because on Expert mode the mechanics are sped up or slightly different (Dragon goes to you instead of you going to dragon, adds come quicker for robot, cala maria adds on phase are faster, along with her attacks, time before attacks for hocus pocus are halved, etc) so it is definitely a different challenge, and not just artificial difficulty most devs nowadays do, simply increasing damage and health.

If you're not a fucking 2000s kid casual you will play this on regular, replay on expert for full completion, then there's still S ranking.

Nigger I'm definitely replaying it co-op mode once it comes out online or I go back home to play with my buddy who also wants to play co-op. for 20 bucks i clocked nice 12 hours plus of genuine fun, a fresh of breath air in the videogame industry nowadays.

Before you spout and opinion and talk out of your ass, actually have an informed opinion and know what you're talking about. Clearly you haven't even beat the game, if not even played it. Expert mode bosses differ from normal in mechanic difficulty.

Here's your (you) now fuck off

I know slow version is original and creepier but I love the faster version of this song

See, you went too far with this one. Earlier you could have just been mistaken for a shitter but now it's obvious you're baiting. It's not unusual for someone to have 200+ hours in DMC4.

And I still hours to play since I have yet to complete full s-rank, just realized
These faggots are the equivalent of Steam anima avatar faggots who circlejerk on discord. Faggots, there's magnets everywhere, go try it for yourself or go check some gameplay footage.

Bayonetta is worth replaying in non-stop climax, and in order to unlock it you have to complete it in the prior difficulty setting.
They reward that replay with the secret boss.

Ironically enough, DMC4 and Bayo are less replayable than Cuphead. think 792824 is genuinely retarded redditcuck who watches twitch streams instead of playing the game himself. Cuphead has co-op, DMC4 and Bayo are in the same level of replayability (different difficulty) but cuphead one-ups it with co-op playthrough.

By the way is Treetop Trouble bugged? That's the level in the first isle that ends with the flying lion bug miniboss thing. With the platforms that fall if they get hit by a fireball.

Is it bugged? Because I rushed through that level dashing almost the entire time (yes, I parried everything, used special moves, and collected all coins) and it's still only giving me a B rank. I literally don't see how I could do it any faster.

I digress on DMC4 since special edition allows you to control other characters, but nevertheless, that guy is retarded.

It doesn't matter what rank you get in run and gun, the best rank is "P" and you get it by doing a pacifist run through them (not killing any enemies)

I was bitching about that exact problem in an earlier thread, I think I know what's happening. You don't have to collect the five coins a second time, and it says it's counting towards your rank, but I don't think it is. That would explain why you get knocked down a full rank.

I would hope any stylish action game gets replayed so much you lose track of how many times you've played it, but yeah, same thing with Bayo. I guess if you don't care about ranks or higher difficulties you wouldn't see value there.

I don't know user, he's slow as fuck but he does genuinely seem to enjoy the animation process when he talks in his update videos. I think if anything he just drags his feet a bit because he nitpicks a lot.

6/10 gameplay with some issues. Worth it for a playthrough or 2 and the art style. Not worth more than $10.

It's alright, basically a boss-focused Metal Slug.

🤔

It's the first real "old school" game we've had in a while. Probably its starting price is too high for what it offers in terms of gameplay, but it's got a moderate challenge and the sense of wonder from experiencing one stage after another. It's also a great Casual Wall because people who can't get past Hildaberg will likely give up the game.

The endgame has smaller but much more challenging boss fights. The Devil is pretty underwhelming as a last stage. Beppi the Clown and Hildaberg are the hardest stages in the game because in the case of the former it goes on forever with a lot of bullets on screen and in the case of the latter it's more of the fact that she never stays still. Definitely not a terrible challenge but it will get to most of nu-gamers' nerves.

Man, what the fuck was the problem with the people who made Tom say that? I remember being scared as fuck of that scene.

Here's your (you)

Stamper mostly shitposts on twitter nowadays, I'm pretty sure he's got a job.
sage for offtopic

Define "drink out of"

...

This is the kind of shit webm threads should be made of, dick from flaccid to solid in 0.00000001 seconds

DROPPED
seriously fucking platformers had this right since the beginning

No shit faggot, but once you DO get S rank and finish expert mode, do you ever see yourself coming back to cuphead? You wouldn't because there is no replay value.
The point was that you're not really "replaying" the game is you're playing on another difficulty, you're still playing the game in a new way. Replaying would be going back to expert mode after having finished it and gotten S-ranks.
Glad to see the point went entirely over your head

See THAT is replaying it, unless co-op mode again has different cycles and difficulty in which case it would again just be new ways of accessing content. But like I said, you won't find yourself coming back to Cuphead devoid of new content.

Don't blame me for your inability to read. Going up to Expert Mode and trying to S-rank is not "picking up Cuphead again". You do that once you finish the game regular, getting 100% completion is not "Picking the game up again". I explicitly stated "beating the game to the fullest" anyway you dumb faggot.

No shit, I've got more hours than that in DMC4. DMC4 has plenty of replay value, the difference is that replay value lies in the games quality and not in "just adjusting the difficulty". When I finished Demon Hunter and started the next difficulty, I didn't consider it "replaying the game" I considered it trying a new difficulty.

if you do a half an a press you can do a short hop

A press is a press, you can't say it's only half

How does it feel knowing he felt so bullied by our love that he never commentated again

...

good

TJ or autistic parallel universe man?

There is no such thing as half an A press.

...

Rat should have been in island 1.

I agree, it's a stupidly easy boss. That being said, I hate the second phase, it's very prone to RNG.

Fuck this Reddit shit

Charge shot is really stupid OP and trivializes everything. You should beat every fight with just the basic gun to see the actual challenge

Do you edgelords even know what the words that you try to mimic even mean? Don't let the door hit you on your way out.

Where's the problem here?

Both

It's got problems but it's still fun lad calm your ass

DSP managed to beat this game. Nobody has any excuse.

obviously faked screenshot, he'd still be stuck on the dragon boss around now

The final phase is a bit anticlimatic, but overall pretty good. Very fun. The close up of the devil is one of my favorite animations of the boss, along with the first phases of the Robot. And the thicc mermaid of course.

Damn she thicc

Holy shit, nefags are actually here

I actually refused to use the coffee my first time fighting Dice because of how much it felt like an exploit for it to still charge when you're in the dice rolling segments.

Anyone here having issues binding R2 and L2? They are registered as axis for me, not buttons so I can't bind my dash to them.

...

Fantastic oc. How'd you get the writing to look so grainy though?

Well, you're still measured for time, so if you just sit there and wait you're losing your ranks.

Well it won't matter much for S-Rank since that takes time into account.

y tho

Yeah, I recently beaten the dragon after MANY times, because of the last two phases of the boss that are a pain in the ass. How the hell did DSP beat it, if not after a million times?

I just meant for first time run with no intent of doing better than winning. I might have worded that wrong, I meant that "this fight felt better for me having to measure my supers more strictly." Calling it exploitive was a misnomer.

The whole game turns easy if you cheese with charge shot and twin heart

Seriously why would you ever use the Twin Heart over the invinci-dodge

You use it if you are shit at videogames and can't dodge for shit, like DSP would

It kinda sucks.
I like using the best tools available to me, that's playing smart in order to succeed.
The hearts are obviously the better options, unless you're trying to get S-ranks or speedrun.

Very nice.

Theboogie made some lewds.

go.twitch.tv/baby66

Sad

No.
You're either retarded or pretending. Either way you never played the game.
This game has replay value, you simply haven't played it and it shows.
You need to beat the game to unlock Expert. No different than Bayonetta having to be beat in order to unlock next difficulty. That's incentive to replay, considering the difficulty changes mechanics and its not just increase in damage and health, ergo replay value.
Co-op is another reason to replay.
Also, who are you to state if a person will pick up the game or not? that's subjective and your opinion. I play TTYD every one or two years, and that's a game that you beat the playthrough, do the little postgame and that's it . it's also a single campaign experience. Nevertheless, what matters is that the game is solid and good, and that alone is reason to eventually replay it again and enjoy it eventually in the future. I could see some peashooter-only runs, or x weapon only runs, or even just boot it up and replay this game in the future all over again with a different friend.

Your opinion shows you haven't even played the game, and your facts are wrong. Last (you) I give you.

Are you retarded?

It's people like you who are turning this place into gamefaqs

I believe it.
DSP's good at 2D platforming games. I saw a This is how you don't play of Megaman X and surprise, he didn't have any issues with it.
I think his brain stopped working around the time 2D platformers stopped being popular.

I played the C64 in the 80s, beat Cuphead in a day (getting mostly Bs) but I don't see myself coming back. If anything, it's you kids who feel compelled to prove yourself among peers.

Who cares what you are scored as, you should have the self reliance and emotional balance to be content with your efforts. And let go whenever you feel.

All it takes to make replays worthwhile, is some effort on the devs part. They could have had the first playthrough on Easy and in full colour, which unlocks "world 2" on Regular and technicolor, then world 3 on Expert + B&W.

Instead you have a difficulty slider and some obtuse quests, whose rewards you can only enjoy after the game's beaten and dead. Good at a technical level, but doesn't draw you in.

This has nothing to do with generation. You're just a mediocre person.

Right, trying to get the most value out a single game is a new phenomenon, something a young person would do. It was thirty years ago where you had hundreds of easily-accessible games vying for your attention and you could casually flip from one to another whenever you felt like it. Or is it the opposite?

Write me an essay where you describe the feeling of empowerment you get, from a game giving you increasingly high scores as you muscle memory it. Eventually you will grow older and wiser too.

It has nothing to do with muscle memory or trial and error. It's about the feeling of satisfaction of overcoming obstacles. You know, a basic feeling human beings that are not edgy faggots like you get when they finish their daily gym workout or satisfied at finishing their a workpiece masterfully. It's about climbing a mountain and reaching the top.
What you are stating is merely le classy nihlistic gentleman gamer face. By your logic, let's not bother playing anything because they're all muscle memory and eventually you will learn the meta and go for what's OP spec/comps/set up.

You millennials really have zero self-awareness. When the arcades were still roaring, home consoles weren't cheap and you were limited to a handful carts: you are talking to someone who had a dozen games total to replay in and out, for 10 years. The act is commendable, but feeling superior about it? It's the monument to the newfag.

You are showing your embarassing origins, my friend.

You aren't wise, you are just a jaded faggot that has forgotten how to have fun

...

Only complaint is that it should have a stutter at the start.
Otherwise it's golden. Loving the OC starting to come in.

That's the point I was making, you fucking idiot. Trying to get the most value out of a game is nothing new, it is not something "you kids" are doing. You don't know how many games I had when I was younger, you don't know how old I am either.

Except you're wrong, because different difficulties possess different mechanics, thus not repeating the same game.
Unless you're a depressed jaded faggot who is not even enjoying anything and simply dismisses it because the boss is the same boss. That's fine. your free time, do whatever you please. But don't spout false information for the sake of your shitty and wrong point of view towards a game with actual replay value.

It's fine if you don't want to get good and have the right attitude towards a game whose focus is challenge and self-improvement/ boy-to-man challenge where the progress is solely based on your performance, but at the same time, if you don't like this type of game you either don't play them at all. Or go play them at your leisure and enjoy it however you want, but don't go around telling others how to enjoy a game, especially when the dissenting party is actually enjoying it as the devs planned the game to be enjoyed.

Write me an essay where you describe the feeling of empowerment you get from

* Becoming physically stronger as you exercise
* Becoming more skilled at a musical instrument as you play it more
* Fully understanding and analyzing a book
* Mastering a field of knowledge

Yes, you should be emotionally balanced and self-reliant, but don't conflate this shit. Self-reliance and balance are not excuses to be content with mediocrity. Building skill and talent feels good. It is a sign of emotional stability to know when to stop and to let go, but the other extreme is never trying and giving up immediately. You could make most of the same arguments about giving up on your career from a compulsion to "prove yourself among peers" and it would be just as stupid and bullshit.
Again; talent, hard work, and success feel good. This is true whether it is career success, a physical skill like cooking or music, sport skill, working out, or video games. There is nothing wrong with not wanting to master a game if you've got better things to do or if it doesn't appeal to you, but people have been painting video game skill like it's a bad thing for a long time, and it always boils down to either jealousy or simple inability to understand somebody wanting to be good at a video game, and we can't help you with either of those.
The best we can do is point at you and laugh at your stupid opinions.

On the contrary, with age comes the requirement to cut the fat (don't have time for everything). Like avoiding grinding, and chasing a score is a form of grind. Scoring is not a new concept of course: all coin ops had scores, as did their ancestors the flippers. I have never met someone who was into that, we all played the game to beat them and that's it.

A newfag's crusade to prove he's a leet gamer. I respect you junior, go and get them.

and to elaborate, it is rare these days in current year to find games that are solely focused performance as main basis of progress, instead of level up, on rails, or always another solution besides getting good. Cuphead is a breath of fresh air in that regard. Sad seeing someone who claims himself a person who has played games for a long time dismiss it so casually. It's a testament they're not really perceptive. Either that, or just a retard pretending to be an oldfag as a narrative for their argument.

Now I can tell you're just some retard pretending to be an old person for the sake of an argument.

alright you've had your words, now cease this debauchery

The eternal Holla Forumsirgin strikes again. You can't make this shit up. Thank you user

No one above 20 says that unironically, you are a really weird faggot trying to larp as some old fart for some reason

Trying too hard, bff963

That's not what he said at all. He also said if you have better things to do, then go do them.

I think not recognizing the game has a restart option in the menu could actually be a sign of senility, yeah.
Looks like he's been whining about "muh millennials and their scores" all thread, too.

Is this the episode where you blatantly misrepresent arcade gaming and score attack modes you have absolutely zilch experience with besides notions that arcade games are unfair by design so they can jew more credits out of you as you make out scoring systems and games built around them as something inherently flawed because it requires you to play them over and over and get better to get higher rankings?

Some people lift, play instruments, read, are educated, and also enjoy playing video games for skill. None of these things are mutually exclusive. Something tells me you are being intentionally daft.

Feels good when your opponent slips on a freudian banana peel. He split his psyche wide open in that verbal diarrhea.

I bet you don't even know how much it costed, to master games at the arcade. We were pleased to get to the end of games, well without any care for score.

...

Except you took him out of context and you can't spell on top of that.

If you're a day over 31 I'll stop posting for a week.

deleted post because i genuinely feel bad for that person
just let him be.

I know you're just pretending, but this is just incredibly embarrassing to read for anyone in the know

Trust me, this little lesson is teaching him to double check what he reveals of himself.

Well I refuse to cash in the bet, keep playing your vidya user and enjoy them even for us old fools.

I'll be posting this in a year to laugh at you

hell try posting it in a few months

I have no idea what you think you're talking about.

I was gonna just ignore you but you had to be a gargantuan faggot and keep shitposting

You didn't even know there was a retry button. I feel sorry for you. you're either retarded or very old. Of course you won't be able to do Expert mode or get anything above a B on cuphead.
Not even an excuse. My grandmother does sudoku every morning and can play super mario world. I'm not expecting you to get perfect score, but you should at least fucking know there's a retry button. that's common sense a person of any age should know. especially a person who has been playing videogames since they were young. No fucking excuse. You're retarded.

For the record. It's really hard to get anything below a B-. You'd have to not use any super and take a long ass time to get anything lower than that. You act as if you were proud of not getting anything lower than that. B- is perhaps the lowest you can get unless you play twin hearts and use chaser and take forever. You're not mediocre. You're a low score. Again, if you don't care about score, that's up to you and nobody cares how you play your games, but don't pretend you got a decent score. B- is shit and to me it seems you barely got passed bosses. There's a lot of replayability right there for you to improve. But i don't think you want to improve. You want to casually tour the game like a casual and be done. And that's fine, but you're still objectively wrong in your initial shitpost

Said it best. You're conflating self-reliance and emotional balance and utilizing it as an excuse to be not even a mediocre player, but rather a casual

You're not only old and retarded, you're also a casual. And that should be an insult for you considering you're boasting being a hardcore arcade player who doesn't have time to play games not worth your pallate , as you state in
since you don't have time for anything but filet mignon games

You cannot compare arcade games, as stated, with a boss-oriented game with a retry button that lets you retry as many times as you want, with a fast-paced restart at that.

I played arcade games and I 1 coined slug 1 and 3 coined X (final mission is a bitch in some segments) consistently. I was underage when i did that. I replayed them to try and 1 coin X among others to better myself at the game. It's not about the score, It's about self-imposed challenges and exceeding your limits that you impose on yourself. It could the amounts of coins you use, it could be time record,, it could simply be a self imposed challenge or just beating something on a different difficulty. And there's nothing wrong with that.

And for the record, most people who actually played in the arcades did care for score, especially in early 90s late 80s when score was ALL THAT MATTERED. It's very evident you're just pretending now.

If you don't want to do it, that's fine. But don't berate others for actually enjoying videogames and enjoying getting better at them. You'd think someone who is older would grow wise enough not to be a faggot, to the point they are not resented at others being better at them at videogames.

Translating your entire narrative: "I enjoyed my time with the game, but I don't see myself getting perfect scores. I am too casual to get good so I'll pretend the game has no replay value and there's no point in getting better rank because its all the same haha us old gamers are content just beating it once who cares about score you guys are fucking try hard lmao"

You're a retard, a mediocre person, and a casual. congratulations.

Ironically, he is the one revealed how casual, retarded and mediocre he is as evidenced by his previous posts.

It also has less availability. undertale was for every platform. This is locked to PC and xbox, the latter nobody has. Casuals and tumblrites thrive on PS4 and Nintendo respectively. They will still have access to it, but much less

Hate to play devil's advocate, but with regards to Undertale, that shit was originally released on PC, with the PS4 and Vita version only arriving nearly two years down the line as a response to Japan taking a liking to this game, and even before the latter happened it STILL blew the fuck up with the usual Tumblr cancer. I don't think accessibility on console has all that much to do with it.

apparently back in 2014 cuphead was announced as a trilogy
webcitation.org/6RWmChn2h?url=http://killscreendaily.com/articles/cuphead-roughly-40-done-hey-its-gonna-be-trilogy/

Huh, so earlier speculation about additional content adding to the longevity of the game actually had some merit.

Poor faggot, you can't even remember that I jumped into your quarrel precisely because you accused someone of newfaggotry:

And I threw it back at you, like the wannabe elitist you are. You wouldn't be so angry to throw literal pastas at me, if I didn't strike a nerve: that going for the high score is not an achievement, but a waste of time.

Which might not be true to someone else: they might reply "for me it isn't, I enjoy it pretty much". But you don't say that! You get very, real angry when people laugh at your commitment in vidya and that is very telling.

(18)
well congratulations, you pushed the thread into bump limit. Feel free to not participate in the next one.

You millennials really have zero self-awareness.

I'm Generation X.

I encountered a glitch where I died but the game gave me no death screen and the boss continued attacking. Wouldn't even let me pause. Had to use task manager to get out.

Blow it out your ass, kid. Sperging like that about videogame scores is like broadcasting the world you have self esteem issues.

I'm surprised they haven't patched it, yeah. I've had three hard crashes. Several times using the "exit game" option in the menu took me back to the title screen and made the game stop responding to any inputs from the gamepad or keyboard, even though the title screen animation was still going.

So is pretending to be as old as your father.

Can we get a new thread yet? It's physically painful to have scroll past all this drivel by some bitter autist larping as a boomer

Do you even read what people reply to you? Plenty of anons besides myself have already rebuked you by stating going for the high score is something people enjoy and see as satisfaction in self-improving and learning and become better players. You're a mediocre casual trash who just wants to tour story mode. Good for you. But stop being a bitter autist other people are enjoying videogames a different way than you.

I honestly don't care what you think and nobody does here either. I'm merely debunking you because you slandered the game having no replay value when it does, and stated your mediocre casual opinion as a fact when it's not.

becoming* better players.
casual trash player*
because*

I need some sleep.

I can't tell what she's saying, but the fact that she's streaming is a red flag. You probably wouldn't want her if you had her.

THESE FUCKING LUCKY QUADS PANDER TO MY FETISH!

At least he actually still DOES animations unlike Arin "3D2Much4Me" Hanson, who gave up and became a shitty, family friendly lets player exclusively.

I love how this dumb motherfucker went on twatter afterwards to brag about how good he thinks he is at videogames, unironically claiming that him sucking at vidya is a meme and that the "sheeple" should wake up. It's like me saying i'm a pro at breaking through brick walls because I spend 4-6 hours a day every day bashing my head against them until they break from my repeated, sustained bludgeoning.

The only reason Phil doesn't have much issue with 2D platformers is because most of it is trial and error, which is all he really has in terms of gaming skill. Present him with a dynamic hazard and he turns into a pile of finely ground sea salt.

I'm against this boss, and I must say he fucks my shit up the moment he gets to his final form. Those fire balls are unholy.
No, I will never try on simple mode, I must git gud no matter the cost.

nvm got gud, carrying on.
