So did anyone here actually buy the NES emulator thing?

Accruing junk for the sake of having junk is a mental illness.

That you, Rob?

My brother bought 7, and he's gonna sell 6 to cover the costs of the one he's keeping (so, he will be getting it "for free"). I usually despise scalpers, but Nintendo fanboys are just asking for it.

I don't believe it's designed to be the most practical way to play older titles. It's meant to be a collectable, or else they wouldn't bother with making out a miniature SNES that only plays SNES games when the hardware can handle a whole lot more.

See, that's what I meant by novelty, these cards for example are cool, I can definitely see the appeal of collecting those.
But the NES classic edition? It's just a proprietary emulator box, it doesn't do anything new or interesting, it looks cheap and it's not even cheap. (what was it, 80 bucks or something?).
And I wager you bought the NES classic new, since you probably didn't pay an arm and a leg to buy it from a scalper.
What's good about it?
I'll accept you just like collecting Nintendo stuff (though I don't like it), but does it have any value other than collecting it?
Why collect something if it doesn't look cool, pretty or is at least interesting?

Your brother fucked up.

ROM WHEN?

Scalpers are not known for their keen intelligence

But it is interesting. It's a miniature version of a console that also functions as a rudimentary emulator. It has a slightly higher collect appeal than action figures or PVC statues because while it looks good as a static display, it functions as a mini game console.

Anyone got a magnet or ipfs hash of the star fox 2 rom?
I herd it was dumped recently.
