The Surge. It's pretty much a perfect example of how retarded the average consumer is when nobody's holding their hand. There isn't that much of a wiki, nobody's stealing reddit posts for lore videos, and the most prominent review is from an e-celeb that spends most of the video complaining about problems he himself caused by being too stupid to notice. The Surge gives players a couple of basic instructions on attacking and the like and leaves the rest in either loading screen tips or in item descriptions, like how some implants denoted by hot swap can be changed at any time, or that there's two kinds of counters, dodge counters and block counters, and that block counters change based on whether you use the heavy or light attack button, and that you can charge attacks by holding the button down, except for twin rigged weapons, and alternating attack buttons during combos does different finishers, and so on. Pretty much everything in the game has this depth to it that, if ignored, will severely punish players. The jumping bots everyone complains about? You can target their front legs and damage them so they can't do that anymore, which is true of a lot of mechanical enemies, such as the laser/vacuum bots where you can damage their survey arm to stop their laser attacks, or for the big furnace bots you can target their smaller legs to temporarily cripple them and stop them from using their 360˚ spin attack, you get the idea. Even the upgrade system has depth that even accomplished players won't see unless they go into several new game pluses. There are five tiers of upgrade in the base game for armor and weapons, but for the first three new game pluses, there is an additional five tiers, so at the end of your fourth run you can have level 20 equipment. I wouldn't say that the game is worth sixty dollars, but if you find a key or copy for 20, it's well worth the money, assuming you aren't a blithering idiot.
Paper Mario: Pro Mode streams, it's really interesting how it changes things up more than just enemies doing more damage and having more health, although there's that too. The refights are a little too ridiculous though.

I always figured the whole book was just showing how the main character never really thought for himself and how he would just do as he does without really paying any mind to how it might hurt others. Then you have somewhere as alien and foreign as the zone and suddenly he's completely in his element and everyone needs his help to get through. But then he just ends up getting used because he doesn't know how to do anything else and really no one cares about him either. The finale of him sacrificing that other guy's son to get to the wish granter and not really knowing what to say after coming all that way before just repeating what the other guy said really sums up how much of a nobody he always was. Even when he was handed the world and the potential to get anything he wanted he just did said what someone else wanted and probably died because of it.
Starship Troopers is my favourite book and by my favourite author too. Definitely a good read if you're into his rambly and descriptive style.

Also if you ever pick up the game a tip of advice from finishing a play session, don't use any move that makes you jump or move significantly to finish off the third boss, since its arena shifts a bunch immediately upon beating it to give you access to the next area.

Pro Mode is a Paper Mario hack that came out pretty recently that adds in new badges, items, modifies encounters and bosses, and adds a new extension off of the shooting star summit that houses the boss refights. As far as I am aware it doesn't add any bosses but I think there's one or two new enemies.

1) No census was conducted at the time. The closest census (under Quirinius) was conducted ten years after Herod's death.
2) No census in history required that people return to the seat of their ancestors. Not only would this have been pointless (a census is conducted to see where people are currently, not where they came from), it would have been logistically impossible (people travelling to some distant seats of their ancestors whom most didn't even know would've crippled the empire).

Then there is the part of people having to return to their ancestors' homelands. Not even their own, but the lands of their ancestors. Do you suppose that some random peasant or shepherd would even know where his "ancestors" had come from? And what if his ancestors had come from multiple places? Even if he had had this knowledge, would he have had the means to undertake a journey that might take weeks? There were no 6 weeks of paid vacation back then. And even if people had had the money, the masses of people travelling about and leaving their work unattended would've brought the empire to its knees.
So much for the logistical impossibility. Beyond that, it also doesn't make sense to require this. The purpose of a census is the establish taxation, and for that, you have to know where people are NOW. No Roman Emperor would've given a rat's ass where people's ancestors lived 500 years before.
