A real sequel to Deus Ex. Infinity war went fantasy scifi which doesn't fit in the Deus Ex universe. The story was retarded and the gameplay was consolized.
Human Revolution/MD somehow became worse, because now the setting is even less grounded in reality but before Deus Ex, completely destroying suspension of belief. Skies of Arcadia 2, was announced but then killed soon after. Series could have been saved had SEGA not decided to axe the PS2 and PC ports. Now it's creator, Overworks, has been absorbed into SEGA where they put Skies of Arcadia characters in games they've made(Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing Transformed, Valkyria Chronicles)

It's a good thing the video youtube spat out after watching this trailer had actual gameplay with a boss fight because that trailer is fucking awful. It's like they went out of their way to avoid showing anything interesting about the game. There's only about half a second of anyone actually shooting anything so how the hell would you even know what kind of game it is from that?

The actual gameplay video looks very impressive (especially for a solo project) but the guy picked the most ambiguous, blandest name possible and if he ever actually releases it having a bad trailer that doesn't show off the game's appeal is really going to cost him sales.

I really liked the way the leveling and crafting worked early on, when you were only like twice as powerful when you were maxed out compared to when you started. And your stuff would break so you had to keep crafting, but you could use different materials to get a variety of effects. Then they just turned it into a generic mmo.

Star Citizen, just to see the overwhelming disappointment and despair of those who paid for it.

Dragon's Dogma was originally intended to get completely crazy after the fake final boss, Grigori (The Dragon) since the reason the first third of the game was so generic was to mess with your expectations like Bloodborne. However all of the shit afterwards got massively cut so instead of ascending a neverending tower to the moon we just got the very end with killing god and the copypasted everfall rooms.

Whats even worse is the license they used for all of their art assets only gives the Skywind project permission to use them so we can't (legally) rip assets made for Skywind and port then to Morrowind/OpenMW.

Scammed Citizens would never admit the game was dogshit if it ever does get a release. They'd insist for the rest of their lives it was great. Now if it gets cancelled, then we can look forward to mass asspie suicides.

For the original La-Mulana they scrapped almost everything they had after two years in development and started over, took them three more years after that to finish the game. At this point the sequel has been in development for about the same length of time.

I don't know how to feel about Star Citizen.
On one hand they did reignite people's passion for the genre, and we did get a few good games because of the success of their kickstarter.
On the other hand however they will kill the genre again as soon as the game comes out and it's trash or is finally cancelled.

I could replicate that entire scene within 6 hours, complete with a playable controller and sea life A.I. The rock shaders are extremely dull. Same goes for the vehicle shader. Virtually zero depth with the textures. No global illumination. No intermediate water particles. The only thing interesting in that scence is the direct light coming through the water shader. Easily replicated, but a decent job with the raycast.

I know the dev now streams his progress a few times every week, but I still doubt the game release because the dev wants perfection in every possible way and is feature creeping his game pretty hard. In the most recent streams he mentions wanting to remake older levels because of new game design skills he picked up while working on the game. Him and his contributors have remade the entire game two times already over 9 years(!), and remaking levels would add another one-half to those times. I'll just have to wait and see.

Development stopped because the devs couldn't figure out how to do procedural generation, which is at least half of the game's selling point. Why would someone announce a procedural generation game before knowing how to do procedural generation, I don't know.
