Taking Brigandine as an example, how would you improve it without compromising it's casual accessibility ? Removing the turn limit but Making reinforcements possible
Allowing for troop movements that don't follow roads but Increasing the time it takes to reach the attack point
Allowing for retread / having it take until next turn to take effect
If you corner an enemy (no roads leading back to said enemies land) you'd be able to take his knights prisoner until he rescues them
I've never heard of this game, but now i feel inclined to play it

People rated it low because it's story is basically : "General of empire wants power, stars war, pick faction". While it delivered on the raw gameplay. It has tones of room for improvement

This game had a japan only updated rerelease Have you played that?
I've had it on my PSP for weeks and haven't touched it too much. It's basically Fire Emblem with Romance of the Three Kingdoms kingdom building.

IIRC that translation was done by a christcuck who censored a lot of it.

Haven't touched grand edition, want to complete the vanilla game first (3/5 playable factions beaten)

Oh for fuck's sake, not another one. Do any older TRPGs apart from Fire Emlbem have non-deformed character sprites?

My little sister saved up her money and bought me this as a gift. I didn't enjoy it at the time and gave it to a friend. I wish time traveling is a thing so I can go back in time and beat the living shit out of my younger self.
It's a common problem. People who are skilled enough to officially do this shit seem to be utter retards in some aspect, just look at other translators and their constant censorship of stuff.

The big question I'd have is, if one's so deadset against having the content/script go against their beliefs, why did they even pick up the game for translation to begin with? It's not like they're "suffering" the way people in an official company might, where it's not up to the average employee what they get to work on (which isn't to say localization companies don't have their own massive problems with quality these days, but still); fan-translators essentially have the freedom to pick and choose what they work on, what they give priority to, etc. So if they played a game, didn't agree with the content, and wouldn't be able to keep their politics out of it, why even waste the time and effort (especially as a do-it-for-free) to make it so more people can play a game they'd consider playing/enjoying with the content in its natural state a sin, or something? Even if the idea is to "sanitize" the work for local consumption, the contradiction baffles me (clearly they liked the game enough to translate it, but still hated the default content of it?), and comes off as a waste of time/effort on everyone's end. He wastes his time making arbitrary changes to a game, and the fans that wanted to play it are liable to be turned off by said changes. Unless the goal is to render that version unplayable in English, as it's bit rare for a game/version of a game that's already in English to get relooked at by fan-translators unless really bad off. Hell, that guy that was trying to fix it felt he had to give up because he couldn't even tell how much of he English script might have been made up wholesale after a while.

Thanks user, If it's really an RNG fest, how is it in comparison to Darkest Dungeon?
Hunter Watson
The luck can be annoying at times but it adds a lot of replayability and a wargame factor.
It's a number crunching game, you have to weigh the odds and carefully think whether a certain action is worth it. Ideally you want to maximize your chances by doing shit like attacking from a favorite terrain (Woods if elves, mountains if dwarf, etc) while attacking an enemy sitting on a poorly defended terrain like a river or plain grass. There's also the time of day involved. Orcs get a boost in night time and (military) humans get a boost in day time.
It's basically Advance Wars/Fire Emblem/Tactics Ogre but with more content and scenarios.
Don't listen to the retards whining about RNG, the subject has been talked to death and there's a thread on the forums where it has been explained why dice rolling is in the game.
The RNG gives it a tabletop wargame or D&D feel. With certain mods you can even turn it into a roguelike. There's nothing more comfy than playing coop multiplayer with each player controlling 1 unit.
Alexander Sullivan
I'll be sure to check it out. Having played Heroes of Might and Magic since I could move a mouse, tactical fuck ups are something I can deal with. RNG just sets of a bunch of red lights for me I will never get those 40 hours in DD back, being able to say I beat it is very bittersweet But if it's truly as you say it should be a nice time waster
Easton Moore
It's like Darkest Dungeon, but with worse RNG that will fuck you over in the long run. There are plenty of RNG-based strategy games you can play that aren't shit like Wesnoth.

Valkyria Chronicles: Basically, try to make overwatch an actual threat with Scouts being turned into a generalist infantry class that supports the more specialist roles rather than being so good that using anything but Scouts is a waste of time even in situations where another class is supposed to be specialised entirely in dealing with them (Shocktroopers and entrenched enemies, Snipers and distant enemies, Lancers and tanks). Ideally you'd make the game more focused on combined arms and utilising units individual abilities rather than just rushing Alicia ahead and maybe giving her an anti-tank buff if she needs to solo a tank on her way to the enemy camp.
