Armored Core probably, but I've only played the PSX ones, nothing past that. Mechwarrior is pretty awesome, so is Front Mission and there was one that I had the demo of that I used to play a lot of as I kid but I can't remember what it was. It was a hex-grid turn based strategy robot fighting game and it's not Japanese. I'm gonna try and look for it but maybe someone here knows.
