I agree. Not everything that is a little clunky or unfinished feeling is necessarily bad. The difference seems to come from whether or not the creator was pouring passion into it or not. The Age of Barbarian games are objectively shitty, but they are kind of charming in a 80's fantasy b-film kind of way at the same time, to name a western example.

The term "indie" connotes a specific type of small developer that is into a specific scene. That is the source of my disagreement with you, I think. The western "indie" scene is a bunch of hipsters and sjws that create pretentious "trendy" games that suck not because of their mechanics but because of their thematic content, premise, and aesthetics.

mod support or something being on PC even doesn't necessarily mean those sort of results are easily achievable or even possible.

my ideal example would be super hook girl and new super hook girl which never quite get the perfect feel but for what they are (a game which plays exclusively with the mouse), they are a fun, satisfying platformer with cute art. Free too and very challenging and rewarding.

Jap indie titles are made by very small groups or even solo devs that mostly do it out of dedication to their hobby. Western indie titles are also made by small teams but their reputation is tarnished by bigger studios (some of which barely qualify as independent) that are pretty much dedicated to selling digital cancer.
This is why a sort of double standard is formed when it comes to the reception of western indie games and jap ones.

Looks pretty good. As far as Niponese nipple nickelodeons, I genuinely enjoyed Demon's Sperm and the Succubus games. If I am going to play a jap game like this, its going to have H content, and these games had solid gameplay and integrated the H content pretty well, I thought. Not difficult to play, but still fun and charming in a sense.
