First look at character creation, overall maps and new monster

New TGS gameplay from the dev

It looks too fluid and uh westernized if you will

I don't particularly like the different levels of terrain.
The desert already was the worse place to get knockouts as a hammer user, but this is gonna be hell.

Git Gud

Room open at 51-3378-9933-4238 for MH4U.
Feel free to pick quests.

I can still get one, as opposed to 2/3 in other maps.
It's the dunes that fuck it up.

I feel loss, and I cannot explain why.

wrong thread buddy, you might wanna check out >>>/suicide/

More in-depth presentation and preview of the first 15 minutes of the game

Plz i'm lonely ;~;

That's not a bad thing. I know you've been playing a janky as shit series for years, but it's high time something came out that looks good.

shh… having good control is considered as "casual" now. You are not hardcore if you haven't cleared any game using your feet

It is when the monsters still behave the same.

And the dumbass who never actually played monster hunter but is "le epic trolling reddit army" shows up

...

and it'll be broken as fuck. Seriously

One monster vs all the returning ones plus the new ones that are similar to old monsters, you sure showed me! Also we don't know the extent of how much more stronger the monster becomes or how aggressive you have to be, for all we know it could require you to be less aggressive than when you're fighting Gore and trying to get the Frenzy buff to keep him in check.

I mean we don't know if you have to be more aggressive than when fighting Gore in order to keep the new monster from getting too powerful, if he even can become extremely powerful, which he probably won't since people would just complain he's impossible to beat and considering the target audience, they won't do it.

Please contain your sodium level, this is a salt free thread

Nice cherry picking. Mind giving arguments to my other points or are you just gonna keep spouting buzzwords, greentexting and showing everyone you know fuck all about how these games work?

What other points? you just assumed shit that you don't know and try to pass it off as fact

Part of the reason the gameplay works is due to the forced dedication of your actions. Try to turn on a dime and you have to stop and turn. Try to swing the giant fucking sword and you can't do shit until it touches the ground. Dedicated attacks, dedicated healing.

We can also now see that when that is removed that the game falls apart. We have constant movement while healing instead of healing being a risky move. Judging of timing.

How is that "good" control?

You're the one who assumed that you're ```forced``` to fight aggressively when we don't know the extent of how much more powerful the monster can become if you don't keep him in check. You're the one who assumed something first. For all we know playing aggressively is just a bonus like the Frenzy from Gore and not a big threat like you're making it out to be.

Because it works within the confines of how the game's designed, just like how tank controls work within the design of Resident Evil.

...

...

...

And this game was designed differently that the previous one. Tank control work in RE because of the static camera, you can't use that type of control in a 3D environment.

But most of the monsters still behave the same, so the design philosophies when it comes to how they behave is still the same and designed around the older movement system. That's the problem.

Don't do this. You can KO it just fine but impact on the head does fuckall for damage.

But here is the thing, there isn't anything in this game to stop you from being a total dumbass and running at monsters weapons flailing and you can bet your ass that when it works for the first few monsters, it will be reflex to do the same thing, so the idea of going away won't cross anyone's mind. Just go after it and keep swinging/shooting. Don't need to dodge, don't need to worry about anything, just keep going and it falls, you get your goodies and do the same thing to the next creature.

The hunters have their movesets overhauled, but the monsters are slower, lethargic, and laughably stupid in comparison to ANY other game out there.

You mean the tutorial monster?

Even the dev died during the Nergingante fight, so the idea that you can clear the game while being a dumbass is just an exaggeration

You mean Barroth, Rathalos and Diablos? They're tutorial monsters now?

Yes

so we got one death among everything. I still have low expectations.

I'm confused.

It's just a slightly different Agnaktor, it isn't a big deal. They become harder then he breaks them with certain attacks or you blast them off and they become soft again.

It's almost as if it was intentional :^)

It's low rank. EVERYTHING is a tutorial monster in low rank. I don't see why people keep comparing g-rank or even high rank gameplay from the old games to world's low rank. Monsters are piss easy and lethargic in low rank, even ones like Diablos are fucking jokes. And Barroth has been nerfed hardcore, he's hasn't been the casual filter he was in Tri since Tri itself.

Ever think that because we're now not restricted to shite hardware that they're building up something even bigger and better than those three? Nah, that'd take brainpower.

If you watch the video, he trying to showcase what happen when the spike harden (which bounce off any attack) but then he try to lure it into a trap but died, the demo wasn't suppose to end there.

Every think that they are purposefully making them useless so that casualfags think they are hot shit when they beat them?

Even with 3u barroth, he wasn't a cakewalk who basically killed himself. And low rank monsters still kicked your ass if you did nothing but attack non stop. World lacks that penalty.

The implication that they are throwing these monsters under the bus "for something more dangerous" is highly unlikely and until I see proof, have no reason to believe.

Those are the monsters you fight in the demo booth for journalist.

Why is the only defense I've seen for this game so far "the demo that is supposed to represent the game doesn't ACTUALLY represent the game!"?

Because you are choosing to ignore the people who are saying that the game just looks fun. I have a group of friends that I played through 4u with, they are stoked about the game.

Fuck off

Demo meant to briefly showcase the first hour of the game. You get to see the control, some part the world, and some of the low rank monsters. Are you being willfully ignorant or what?

...

...

...

Those people are called retards, we don't ignore them we mock them

You can control the wyvern?

I need that image with the neckbeard yelling
and then
and then
and then
because that is what I'm seeing.

It doesn't have a beta though

...

...

What free ripoff game?

I think he means Dauntless, it plays like a cheap mobile game.

I'm not gonna fall for that again, its gonna be "Hey, look at this awesome weapon, you need to grind 100 hours to get it OR you can pay with real money"

The director also worked on League of Legends, take that for what you will.

How much is Capcom™ paying you? I want in on it, Mr. Merchant.

I dont play LoL so I don't know what to take, but I do play Warframe and Planetside 2 and know how these "F2P business model" plays out.

What the fuck, some user mentioned /mhg/ a thread or two ago, and I went to check it out now - it doesn't exist. Searches brought up a fucking steam group, and it mentions /monhun/ - but that also doesn't exist?

That is enough to get a good glimpse of how shit the game is.

This is /mhg/

I got my hopes up for a board.

I'm sorry.

Technically this is a shill thread posing as /mhg/.

How's stories?

Fucking hell kids

Delicious.

It doesn't though.

Pretty much this, cutting out the piracy bits and pushing the kusoge all while the original thread was still way up higher should've made it pretty obvious mods need to do their jobs and kill these threads instead of the legit ones, but then Mark's probably being paid off by the shills anyway

the graphics are better but it looks washed out and drab, clearly a sidegrade in terms of looks

Yeah, no.

Please don't reply, he's just looking for easy (you)s and he does it in literally every Monster Hunter thread.

This entire thread is a shill thread anyway, so it doesn't really matter here

That is by far the least Monster Hunter looking Monster I've ever seen in the entire franchise. This isn't even Frontier anymore, this is straight up Toukiden.

Toukiden > MHW™

I've never played Toukiden, the only other monhun clone I've played were the God Eater games, is Toukiden any good?

Recyclable weapons.

...

Don't you know user? Having consequences for your actions is bad, except when marketing tells us it's good.

Goddamn, Gaijinhunter is such a cuck.

Why? who the hell asked for that?

Technically, it makes sense. But the hood is gonna hate it cause CAPJEW did it.

Now also with in-game illustrated pseudowiki with highlights.

What was wrong with hitting monsters where they bleed the hardest? Nobody needed any of this shit.

hey with the way capcom keeps making world easier I'm honestly surprised they even have hitzones

Wow user, that sounds awfully elitist of you. One could almost go so far as to call you a salty nintentoddlering hater.
Don't you dare decelerating our™ hype™ train™.

You had ONE job.

I hope you have fun with a lackluster dead on arrival game user.

How far are they willing to go with this shit!?!? They cant get anymore casual friendly for a difficult and methodical arpg can they???

Its like taking dark souls and putting in game instructions on how to fight the boss in the game along with millions of bullshit power-ups and outrageous advantages on your side.
Game still looks pretty fun though, its giving me a serious case of Stockholm syndrome

At least its not dragons dogma in where they have a weapon that can one hit kill anything in the game from what i know about it right?? RIGHT???

申し訳ありません、辻本さん wwww

I can't recall anything like that in the game. There are powerful weapons, sure, but only after going through trials and upgrading them do they get powerful. Still can't take early bosses down in one hit (unless it's used alongside a skill called Arc of Deliverance/Arc of Obliteration that only Warriors have).

Unless there's something else I'm not aware of.

There's that one use arrow that's pretty rare/expensive that one shots any enemy in the game except for the Ur-dragon.

You mean the Maker's Finger? it's a arrow you can only hold one of at a time which means only three vocations in the game can actualy use it and you can only buy from Fournival for 300,000. It can't kill most end game bosses such as the Ur-Dragon, Death or Daimon anyway, it's really only used in speedrun mode to skip the Grigori fight.

Ah yeah that's right. Completely slipped my mind that I never used it.

I had to quit bitter black isle because of the giant eyeball monster. I would only play as the warrior/fighter/M.Knight and I couldnt reach the fucker for the life of me.

Makes sense, But I dont understand why you would want to skip such an awesome fight outside of a speedrun mode though. Besides using it outside of a speedrun is for absolute pussies anyways.

Go underneath him and wait until he summons the giant tentacles that shoot straight up if you do it right under him he hits himself and falls to the ground allowing you to attack, that and wait until he summons his own Magick Cannon kill the four tentacles preparing it and you can use it against him and if your pawns know how to use a cannon the will join in to.
He is the easiest boss on BBI.

No it doesn't.

I remember playing MK for a bit and I didn't have a problem with it. I believe Great Cannon and parrying with a Holy enchanted shield will help.

You can also make him poke himself in the eye if you run under him and get him to summon those giant spike/tentacles out of the ground.

There are videos of people doing that solo with fighter as well.

Wew, I must be some kind of retarded to not find that out then.

Pic related.

And to any fan of the series - World looks objectively worse in every conceivable way.

That's a stretch. It's doing a lot of shit wrong, but it's not worse in every way. Not being on a crappy 400x240 screen stretched out to be almost 5 inches long is an improvement. The new models and textures are an improvement, though the washed out colors, object highlighting, and other art design choices like that hold it back. Some of the new monsters look fun. From what little has been shown of Zorah Magdoros, it looks like it might be the kind of fight people have been asking for for a long while, where the ED itself serves as the area and the whole fight's spent on it - though I don't have much hope for him, and I'm expecting Mohran 3.0 myself. The charts showing hitzone info in-game are something I've wanted for a while, and the crafting system showing off a tree of all the upgrades and paths for a weapon type and apparently keeping some history are improvements I like.

New information coming soon in 12 minutes. I wonder what sort of disappointing changes they'll show this time.

/k/ would be having an aneurysm

The character creator seems pretty good. I don't see much point in putting so much effort into it though, MH has never been a waifu simulator, and it's not like an MMO or Bethesda game where showing off your character is a big deal. It seems like a waste of effort on a game like this. Waifufags will adore it though. I expect a few months after release /mhg/ will be no different than the elder scrolls or fallout threads that were nothing but posting sluts.

PRESS X TO APCEROS AND HAVE IT TAKE A HIT FOR YOU

user, the entire MH fanbase dosent consist of just you, just look at pic related, the people shitting on the game are most definitely the minority. What if the game does well, sells like a motherfucker, and explodes with popularity? What will you do with yourself user?

Character creation is fun user, its as simple as that. Make your own dream badass or waifu and go ham on monsters. Whats more to like? Make someone that looks like jetstream sam and cut the shit out of monsters with a longsword, leave it to your imagination. Also you now have an option to hide your helmet so you can always have your chars head exposed so theres that. Personally i dont give that much of a shit about character creation

Question about the character creator

Does it look like I can make a trap?

loses 4000 likes between 7.2 million viewers.
hmm something seems off about that demographic user.
Nevermind we should all just go pre-order Monster Hunter World!
Lets go! Lets make sure to get the sick exclusive DLC to make sure we are "PREPARED TO HUNT"

Unironically kill yourself

Fuck capcom, buy it second hand or pirate.

For males, they've only shown off the ability to make yourself a kang, a beaner, or a wrinkly old white man so far. You can be a very masculine woman though, is that close enough?

What I'll probably do is make a female character and try my damndest to make it as flatchested as possible, and tell people it's male

top tier taste

...

Being stuck on a TV instead of being portable is a step backwards.

Considering you can't tell what's interactive and what isn't without big glowy green crap being splattered all over everything despite the screen being so much bigger, I think it's pretty safe to say that the graphics are objectively worse.

Haven't seen much of the new monsters yet. Their potential doesn't matter much though when the gameplay is so fundamentally broken that they'll just be punching bags though.

You're still going to need to keep Ping's Dex open anyway because the charts don't give precise numbers or rates, just general vague ideas you could get just fine from looking at the monster when you hit it.

Yes, Monster Hunter fans are far less numerous than normalfags and shills, your point?

Same thing I did when this same behavior killed any of a dozen other franchises I love - play the old games and ignore the shit that stole it's name while mourning the fact we'll never get an actual sequel to the games again.

The Great Sword that won the weapon design contest, I don't remember seeing it when it was time to vote.
Looks pretty rad

I don't think I've ever dropped anything this fast before.

...

Hello fellow gamers, these fellows seem pretty Salty™ about Monster Hunter World™ Shaping up™ to be the GOTY.

They sure did, fellow gamers :^)

Excuse me, where are her nipples?

why would a snake have nipples

Why would a snake have a human face?

I don't know why would a snake have a human face

This is a really strange creature indeed.

anybody have the "wow good thing the game is a joke, the monster almost did something" post?

in-depth look at the character creation and Nergingante fight part 2 dev still died

Don't bother giving the Goons replies, just report and ignore.

There is no reason to discuss gameplay anymore, they are selling hair, tattoos, gestures armor and charms as dlc/pre-order bonus
The game and franchise is dead already.

What gameplay?

i agree with you that half the new shit is complete horrid and the other half is barely decent, but it can still be called gameplay user, it's just bad gameplay.

Only in a very loose and almost meaningless way

user, you are a gentleman and a scholar. I fullheartedly support your tomboy endeavors. Godspeed.

Is it just me, or is MH:Worlds shaping up to be the best Monster Hunter game to date?

same tbh

Is this the birth of an ebin new maymay?

It's the phrase the shills have been using for several threads now.

The character creation is pretty cool. I really like games with fun character creation systems. More options are always good.

Too bad everything else screams "we want the western/COD audience"

It's not a fucking tomboy if it's just a boy

But that's gay.

So a gay tomboy? That's even better.

You're right it looks really bad

exactly

...

tough choice

They both are one of the cancers killing Holla Forums

I'd say it's less that people can't accept others liking different things and more the fact the games they like are getting killed and replaced with things wanted by people who were never fans of the game in the first place.

Nintendrones are just a particular kind of shill. Shills that do it for free are even more disgusting than the rest.

gaijinhunter like the game and I remember his video being posted in the OP constantly.

Who?

Know sauce? I like the artstyle.

Tanabe Kyou; I don't think it's from an actual trap manga.

>>>/reddit/

He's some faggot who has never beaten rajang solo (in his own words) but since he posts videos on youtube normalfags like him making him popular

He posts tutorials and controls of weapons, as well as details on motion values and whatnot.

But he has really, really shit opinions about pretty much everything. Like favouring censorship and cultural imperialism.

So a worthless attention whore? I guess I shouldn't be surprised people defending World are spouting that name around then.

He has really useful, well-presented technical information, is the unfortunate thing.

Motion values and shit can be easily acquired from a kouryaku site, and most everything else is in Ping's Dex. There's no need to subjugate yourself to some attention whore for information.

I wonder if you have any sense of self awareness after (16) posts

He also just has bad interpretations of said information. Like in Gen/X he claimed that the gunlance would have the fastest clear times.
He was the wrong, so wrong in fact that horn and GL are on their own tier of shit for Clear times

Monster Hunter has been shit ever since that one so kiddy they had to put it on the pii. Glad to see it's finally on a real system again, and enjoying the nintoddler salt. Too bad it's sullied by being on the xboner though.

Pic related. I suspect this might be the reason why. (Not based on any citable stats, but based on what the landscape of "gamers" are these days widespread, but casuals who don't play to gitgud, just socialize)

...

So what makes Niggagante a flagship monster? I don't mind the design, but it seems to have nothing special about its moveset outside of a few needles after a rush. It's like it has no special moves or animations.

Those are venom sacs, not breasts.

It looks like a normal D&D demon, so westerns will feel at home and not think it's weird. If you 'want the western audience' the first thing you have to do is rip out all creativity and make it look like something they've seen before.

it's a

it's a

looka very cool okay

got the satan kind of, you know, like a kristan kind of

how they say

ayy eeh ess tee thuh eh tee eye see?

Forgot to mention that the devs are making this game for the sake of everyone that isn't one of the two blue slices of the pie.

Nice meme, but I can make arguments based on my own observations.
But I'll bite.
archive.fo/PAiyi
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monster_Hunter_4#Sales
Using Japanese sales, since MH4 was only released domestically. Think of it as a representative sample

Pie chart looks like this now. Way to meme.

REMINDER THAT THE DEVS ARE MAKING THIS GAME FOR PEOPLE WHO AREN'T ONE OF THE TWO BLUE SLICES

There's no denying why, now.
NON FANS GET OUT REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

alright, I'll admit the molyneaux post has me a bit triggered, but I never learned how to do statistics. won't some user more autistic than me come along and correct the ratios?

I guess making him look demonic (it's basically diablos with arms/hands, and more forward-facing eyes) can have some appeal.

I'm not against the design, though. I think there could've been a better flagship. From the gameplay videos the doesn't seem too unique. Even MHX had some unique monsters.

From the trailers, though, I can tell they put some more thought into some of the new monster designs. Like a giant fluffball bat. People may not like it and it may not even be a good fight but I appreciate brand new designs.

I don't said I don't mind the design too much. Raths are essentially just typical wyverns. I was thinking mostly on the move set. It's boring despite the monster looking like it can do much more. I read somewhere that his gimmick is regeneration of wounded areas into more needles, but that doesn't change that all he does are normal moves that generally most monsters do. They could easily do a lot with his needles, and not necessarly as a projectile. Like it could pretend to leave an opening, but quickly stab the player with needles when they get close. Currently it has a moveset of a jobber like Azuros. Rush, Slam swipe.

He's also a retard who thinks it's impossible to aim when you're using brave style bow, thinks elem/status GS is a good idea, and often gives othersuch blatantly incorrect or inefficient advice about things he doesn't understand in a rush to be the first person to make a video about something.

It has a "unique" bodytype (otherwise only some EDs and Gore have it) so it's most likely going to have its own classification, like Zinogre did. Its moveset doesn't seem very special but you don't really need to innovate for that to be a flagship monster, Tigrex and Nargacuga were both flagship monsters and share a large amount of their moveset and had no major gimmick, and were in my opinion two of the best flagships in the series. Glavenus had few original moves, but had unique spins on some of the old ones he had, and a simple but unique gimmick; and he was the best thing to come out of X/XX. Nergigante's moves appear to mostly be unique, aside from one attack I think he shares with Gore, and another that looks like it's from Teostra.

So you're suggesting that the entire global populace has an exactly equal chance to watch a Monster Hunter World advertisement regardless of their interests? That makes no fucking sense.

I won't deny that some of his videos helped me understand basic controls and basic abilities of the more technical weapons (such as Charge Blade), but the more I hear about him, the more I dislike him.

That Fire Emblem Fates controversy where he defended the censorship was a start.

Zinogre, tigrex and narga all have unique patterns and moves though. Like all monsters they share simple moves with monsters who have the same skeleton, but those same types of simple moves is all Niggagante seems to have is what I am saying. If he were a rath, all he would do is run, bite and tailspin.

Where the hell did you guys get those pie charts? Are you guys 100% sure that they are accurate? Because I dont know why people who arent series veterans or have already been invested in the series to a degree view MonHun ads that much, especially the non gamers over the dedicated fanbase!?!? Sauce on those charts please. It just seems pretty fishy thats all.

The only thing I find unique about it is its tendency to headbutt a lot. Other than that it looks like any other monster tbh.

Ideas for flagships
A hammer players wet dream. Spins across the map.
seregios but with 70% more bleed.
meh.
Jumping spiders? Moths? Centipede? Millipede? Sorta like Najarala but with big jaws lodasa legs and poison?
A sea snail with a Oneshot harpoon attack.

Nah fuck that interesting shit, lets stick some extra legs on a Blos and make it look like the prime evil from diablo 3.
Done. Im going home. Where's my paycheck?

You're right, that is retarded.
But after googling more specific populations, shit seems fishy,
All these add up to 1.834B, but that would imply that nearly fucking everyone is a gamer, and I don't believe that for a second. (Canada is only 36M, just a drop in the bucket, didn't add it, but there you go).

I'll bet my starting source is shit. These numbers can't be right.

Made them on a website. It's not really compiled by any organization that knows what it's doing. I based it on the global population, but like the other user said, doing that is retarded. You're right, it's all fishy, but I'm not autistic enough meaning I'm retarded and need help to pin down just what portion of people interested in MH:W are actually into the series for what it is currently.

I would.

...

This is going to be the greatest sellinv Monster Hunter game and there is nothing that a bunch of butthurt autists crying about "casualization" can do about it.

Here is my chart, it doesn't based on any citable stats, only my conservation of this thread and MH reception by platform.

I still don't think dedicated MH fans are anywhere near the majority of the people who have something to say about MHW.

I'll bet, but that's just how it goes. Next thing you know, EYE gets a new game that takes it out of cult classic realm and receives critical acclaim in the mainstream consciousness. Then it'll be EYE autists who are butthurt. It happens with everything.

With the Niggagante it has the unique ability that when its black spikes are broken they'll soon grow back as white spikes and unless you break them they will harden and turn black causing you to bounce when hitting them, seems like it will keep doing this the whole fight. Its also been confirmed that Nig will not flee combat so I'd imagine he'll be chasing you around the whole map.

A giant turtle or tortoise monster would be fantastic. I don't know why but I love fantasy takes on turtles.

You could have it move slowly at first so people underestimate it, but then it has a long neck with a huge reach that it can just shoot out and snap at you. And then it can spew slime and push itself along it while drawing itself into its shell so it can slide all around the arena.

Maybe have a variant where the slime it spews is blast slime like Brachydios. That would be interesting.

You are not the center of the universe, just because you don't like it doesn't mean everyone does

Those all sound pretty damn cool user, I dont mind if they are a flagship or not though. I was also thinking the white moth dragon from the tgs trailer was the flagship for a little bit, but it was the demon dude instead.

Thats a pretty cool graph user, here is mine!

There was a giant turtle elderdragon in MohHun Online, it has a very cool design but it looked as boring as shit to fight.

...

That doesn't change the fact that it fights like a punching bag jobber. Tell me what it's special move? What action should a hunter watch out for that only niggagante does.

New elder dragon is essentially a turtle island. Kinda seems neat, but he seems like an area to fight on rather than a monster fight.

This guy? He looks like a giant leatherback turtle with spikes. I can dig the design.

In MHWorld? That's interesting. It didn't seem that way from the trailers so I might have to look again.

Do you think that a large portion of the people praising MHW overlap with the people who are dedicated to monhun? Because that would mean that for multiple games in the series, they've played all the way through village and gathering halls, and made it to G rank, carried or not, and then enjoy the challenge within to continue playing through G rank, but even though they enjoyed the game enough to make that time investment, they would much prefer to play what looks like an easier game that doesn't look like it would provide the gameplay that kept them playing monhun all this time. That shit just doesn't add up, and for that you say I think I'm the center of the universe.

Intro level is basically on his back. I like the idea of fighting a monster on a monster, but I'm not sure about having another lava monster. inb4 the land in mh is just adult forms of this monster

Ohh, I see. Yeah, I remember seeing that. And they fly near its mouth I think.

Blast type turtle sounds cool as shit.
I think this is going somewhere………

yeeee

Gee, I wonder why

...

Just like SFV, MvC:I, DmC and DR4 were the best selling entries in their series, right?

RE5 and RE6 is the best selling games in their series, dont underestimate the power of retards

Please don't remind me. I just binged RE1-3 and I want to fucking die when I remember where the series goes.

I wish Toukiden's monsters were more aggressive then I wouldn't give a fuck about monster hunter dying

It wouldn't be surprising if his "opinion" is true though. MHW doesn't just change how the game is played, but goes against several features and aspects that have been set in the previous games. In the previous games the hunter is at a disadvantage. They have to make and bring tools to help take down the monster in their own territory. In Monster Hunter World the monster is at a disadvantage. Not only is the Hunter after the monster, but the environment itself. In some of the videos the monster even without guidance will run into a tree and stun trap itself. You see those asshole Apceros that used to attack you in the previous games, well now you can use their nesting areas to let them take hits for you. Despite you also invading their nests they will not attack you. In MHW the world is the Hunter's territory, not the monster's. This can be seen in every preview they show. MHW is a different kind of game and the appeal is for a game that isn't Monster Hunter. Someone who likes it and also likes Monster Hunter might not be liking it because they like Monster Hunter, but they like it because it appeals to a different kind of game they like to play that isn't Monster Hunter.

I wouldn't mind having that kind of character creation and graphical fidelity in a mainline monster hunter game, though, as long as they retain the colourful vibrance.

This is something worth considering. I only played 3U and 4U, but only got far in 4U, and the only time the environment is meant to suit you and is tailored for the hunting of a monster is the battlequarters map and the sand skiff, because you can't take a fortress with you on a hunt. Then you have a ready supply of shit like cannon balls and dragonators to do to monsters what MHW's environments seem to do naturally. Makes you wonder why they live so readily in a place that hazardous to them.
inb4 this makes them all go extinct and makes this the last monhun ever

Yup, this sums up my feelings pretty well. Previously the hunter was unwelcome and a player's achievements felt really satisfying due to overcoming odds, like a card game where the deck's stacked against you and you still manage to win. Now the hunter has so many advantages and tools and the monsters didn't power up much if at all that they've become jokes. It's like playing Shadow of the Colossus but you have an infinite ammo BFG, the most defining element of the game's gone the moment the player has so much power over the enemy.

I was watching some gameplay when the hunters caused the waterfall/flood to appear at the top of the forest map. The hunter fell down but instead of taking no fall damage as usual he fucking carted. I think he was supposed to use the slinger to save himself, but that proves that you can still screw yourself over in the environment if you get unlucky enough.

Other than that I dont think there is any fall damage in the game.

Small monsters screw you.
FUCKING SHITTING RHENOPLOS.

Don't worry, greenhorn! In Monster Hunter World™, the small monsters will come to your aid and defend you! No more will you need to worry about an Apceros interrupting you, now the herbivores will happily act as living shields for you. No wonder it's shaping up to be the best game of the series.

And just because shills and shitposters defend it doesn't mean World is going to sell - people who enjoy Monster Hunter aren't going to buy it, so it's going to entirely depend on whether the Western journalist/GameStop alliance can convince people they need to buy it for social reputation among their peers.

Capped - this is so incredibly on the money and it says a lot that that the most pro-World response was "I think I saw one point where someone took damage from an environment trap maybe" without a source

Did anyone get to actually play MHW yet? There has been multiple events and EGX2017 is going on right now. Did so few people actually get to play it that no anons did? Or do anons just decide not to go to these events? You fuckers better not be holding out on any information.

I just realized: how are they going to handle monster HP (or stats in general) since there is no hub/guild that's separate from village? All the quests are (or can be) multiplayer, and isn't the multiplayer drop in/drop out?

Monsters in the other games' hub/guild multiplayer quests have more HP (and may be generally tougher all around), while single player/village quests have less HP to facilitate solo play.

Its been confirmed that the monsters HP scales to how many players there are in the hunt. Idk if its ai or anything else would change though.

Doesn't anyone know if World have day and night cycle?

They'll probably add some sort of scaling, either health, damage or both, which will make playing online a joke or counter-productive, depending on how the extra stats on the monsters will affect your times. I don't trust Capcom to balance this shit properly.

*does
fucking autocorrect

To be fair, the GL in Gen and XX's demo was like higher-tier or had better shelling or something than the other weapons.
The Gunlance thing he should be shamed for was in his 4U guide where he said that the majority of your damage would come from shelling.
Speaking of Gunlance who else is excited as hell for the changes? Wyrmstake and the sideways slash look both rad as hell and you can guard into a lot more shit now.

It's at TGS, but fuck taking time off work and traveling to Tokyo just to wait in line for 15 minutes of a thing I'll hate.

This is the best selling RE game

Giraffe porn is what sold that game.

I'm not saying it's impossible for World to sell well - like I said, it's fully possible that the powers that control the Western industry will decide to tell their minions to purchase it. Just that it will have nothing to do with what Monster Hunter fans want.

Ah, I see. For some reason I'm thinking it'll be tough to implement or it'll bug out somehow, with constant dropping in and dropping out.

Make up your mind dammit

Most likely they'll just scale it to the number of players you start with, so if you summon people midhunt it won't power up

And it was a very enjoyable game.

Those two comments are not contradictory. I'm saying World is neither guaranteed to sell well, nor is it impossible for it to sell well.

Yes it does. Its been shown since they first shown off the gameplay. I don't know if the cycle really effects anything though.

Ah, thats a shame.

user, I have no clue whats going to happen, MHW is trying some really risky things. Maybe it will be an absolute fucking distaster, idk.

So I made a post earlier saying that this will be the best selling Monhun game ever and some faggot mod deleted it, better not start crying about it though or Mark will ban me.

I'm hoping there's a demo so I can see and feel how it plays. I might just nab it on a sale or something if it's fun

It fucking sucks how none of us still never managed to play the damn game.

MH:W is still confirmed for being dumbed-down for mainstream audiences, right?

Yes

get some backbone faggot, if you gonna be a fence sitter, might as well shut the fuck up.

Has nothing to do with sitting on a fence - I'm absolutely not going to buy the game, and hope it crashes hard. I'm just being correct is all.

I'm not talking about whether you gonna buy the game or not, I'm talking about you wasting peoples time with centrist opinion because you want to play it safe from any aggressor.

Please end yourself you fucking cuck

I'll give it credits to Leon mission but fuck Chris and that other faggot, its literally feels like I'm playing GoW. I like Chris story even thought it makes no goddamn sense, that ending is bro tier

Will it at least have mod support?

They use the same engine as Dragon's Dogma, so there is a possibility

...

I bet the autists in here would gut the fuck out of the game and mod it into an HD version of FU if they can.

This game is really not getting any attention at all, huh. Well, got the game recently and it's pretty good, far as possible of a mainline Monhun game, but I am a fan of monster taming games in fantasy settings like Dragon Quest Monsters and Monster Rancher, so it's my kind of thing.

I'll probably try it since I'm kind of getting bored of binge playing MHXX.

That would be pure sex

At least on the weekdays we won't have to deal with this level of stupidity.

The combat is god awful, literal janken.

Why even brought up sales if you don't have anything to add to the conversation and wasting peoples time. I can say World may or may not be a good game and there nothing you can do because I'm neither agreeing or disagreeing with you. Fucking cuck

Shilling here won't do them any good - this is Holla Forums, where people actually PLAY video games. No one who plays Monster Hunter is going to buy World. What they have to do is convince the forces that control the market in the West, namely the alliance between the "journalism" industry and the retailers (which is basically just GameStop) to do what they did with Call of Duty and the rest - pretend it's a successful best seller that is required for social acceptance, no matter what the actual sales numbers are, until enough people fall for it that it becomes true.

Double dubs aside, are you fucking retarded?
Take a look at the hordes of mouthbreathing mongoloids on any MH:W™ jewtube video or twatter post praising this steaming pile of mediocrity.
Think about all the shitters that started pouring in with UUUU and 3U, to a lesser extent. They want nothing more than Capucomu-sama to rape their walletpussy, just so they can meme
ebinly on some monsters with their shitty redditfriends and cash in on that gamer cred.

Peoples on Holla Forums bought MGSV despite being massively different from the previous titles and adding casual mechanic

Hell, peoples on Holla Forums play MHXX for fuck sake

The game is cute, but damn, it's turning me off already.

More disappointment in 22 minutes.

Underwater combat confirmed

Its already been confirmed that underwater combat won't be making a return, thats just the coral highlands another zone.

I'm pretty hyped for MH World,
I've got every game since the PSP MHFU
So far, everything i don't like, can be turned off, or changed back to how it was.
Healing while running triggers me, but if they are making the monsters more aggressive and harder, i don't mind the change.
No G-Rank, that's annoying, but i'm hoping that means the quests are better paced, and we get more of them, and G-rank comes in later on.

Idk, most of the complaint's i'm seeing are from people who can't adapt to change.

Peoples that like World? fucking shill, get off my board

;)

is the pirate some sort of mascot for capcom?

The huge button prompt in the middle when you climb the monster can be turn off

No, just some comedian or something for Capcom TV.

Pretty much, it's how I felt at the beginning as well. If it means anything for you, as the game progresses and you get more skills for your character and monsters, the combat gets a good amount of depth. RPGs usually have a lot of RNG involved in battle, it's just that in this game you have more control over it. That being said, the janken elements never really stop being important.

MHXX is a good game, there you go. It's just that I've been having so much fun with it and X for the latest 2 years. But then again, I have no idea what people are talking about when they come to me and say that there's a bad Monhun game, but I'm probably just a fanboy.

That's my biggest concern about World, Monhun games have always been the kind of game I would dedicate a whole year to each title at least, if World with it's modern direction ends up being a short experience, that will be my biggest disappointment.

How many of them are actually going to buy the game? There was just as much of this shit for Donte and tons of other stuff that flopped as well.

Can't say anything on Metal Gear, not a series I've ever given much of a damn about so I don't know how any of them are different from each other for better or worse. As far as XX, while it's far from my favorite MonHun, if you stick to Guild Style and ignore Hunting Skills, it's a decent enough title with some good fights, and the core mechanics are still mostly the same as the rest of the series. With World, on the other hand, the most core aspects have been reworked in ways that can't simply be "turned off" so there's no way around it.

They are doing the opposite.

No? Why would it? This is the same as EVERY first Monster Hunter in a generation, this isn't unusual in any way.

I'd say it's less the ability to adapt to change and more the fact that the changes made are so basic and fundamental that they change the game to be really boring and unrewarding to play.

I mean, I could definitely see room for it to expand out, but the core combat with the janken is just such a turn off I don't think I could ever really get into it.

How many you want to bet? post your prediction, I'll screencap your post and in 4 months, we'll see how many "true" MH fans bought it. I'm gonna make it easy for you by focusing only on the japanese market, since they are the truest fan and the game isn't cater to them.

Not him, but how are the reactions from the Japanese fans so fa abou the gamer? All I know is that Futaba has been making fun of the Handler girl, calling her "ugly moe".

Now that's surprising, what the hell.

but that an oxymoron

I remember splatoon's success being foreshadowed by the shit tons of r34 of it before the game was released. Might this mean MHW is going to flop, or break even at best?

I'm pretty sure there'll be an MHWorld Ultimate after a year or so of MHWorld's release.
Ultimate will contain more quests and G-Rank, with G-Rank variations and monsters.

MH is niche in general. Lewd fanart even of the more popular games are few. Most porn usually appear after the release, anyway. I'm expecting SFM porn.

You'll usually find more of the general "hunter" fanart that includes them wearing skimpy outfits like Nargacuga's or Kirin's. This is among gijinkas, monstergirls, yaoi, loli and then actual really cool monster hunter fanart.

I'm thinking of getting 4U for my 3DS but I have a question, can I play online without updating my firmware? I'd like to keep the option to homebrew it, I'm just waiting for my SD adapter to arrive and since it was on sale for about 10 bucks I wouldn't mind shilling out for it just to play it early.
I know you could play online without the latest firmware before but I heard Nintendo changed their policies to that, I'm just wondering if there is an user in the same situation that could clear things up for me.

Not sure off hand for OFW, but once you're on CFW it won't matter one way or the other. You'll also be able to ignore region lock in case you accidentally got an NA/EU 3DS, for that matter.

...

Such as?

Who's the best Monhun porn artist, and why it's Ibukichi?

...

Presumably, literally everything shown about the product.

That's Hunters for you, they love abundance, the art is not really that far from their appetite in canon.

I don't doubt it, the way street cook serves food, but hunters are also very fit in canon.
But jesus christ, look at her being a burden to kutku. It's like it's borderline pornhub.com/video/search?search=fat girl facesitting
Maybe that's what your into, but damn son.

Such as?

Heh. I'm not even going to click on it, I know it's probably some horrifying 3DPD stuff, my thing is chubby 2d girls, and not even obese ones, just with bountiful legs and breasts.

Ah, you haven't seen or heard anything about Monster Hunter World? Don't worry, you're not missing anything at all.

Sorry, my wifi glitched up, eating part of my post, I was saying that my non cynical friend saw through the bullshit and said almost exactly what said

...

Are you the same autist from previous thread?

go back to plebbit, newfaggot

You should look at the previous thread (if its still up), its like (50)+ posts of nothing but bitching about world. If that doesn't scream autistic then I don't know what will

I remember him from the previous threads too, I think he may be the Nipponese user, no doubt hes autistic and also loves the shit out of monhun, poor guy. By now I can relate to how he feels.

I only have as much posts as I do because I have nothing else to do and am currently burnt out on vidya.

Makes sense, I saw more gameplay from EGX and some of the monsters path finding is pretty sketchy, I saw an anjanath run into a tree and then seemingly teleport a small distance through it. Some of the herbivores tend to run directly into then through the monsters you hunt when they should be doing the opposite. Its extremely worrying.

I highly doubt it, at best its a fucking gaijin living in japan, at worst, a fucking weeaboo that only know 3 words in japanese and failed his kanji

because there is certainly nothing to bitch about it :^)

Yesterday when they were fighting the Honduran bat, it left the area. So the hunter hooked on to a random flying monster and it just so happen to lead him to the Monster. The kicker is that the Bat monster went to an area where it aggroed another monster to attack it. It went willingly to enter a scripted event where it takes massive damage from another large monster. So is this something that happens everytime you hunt this monster or is it just a demo to show off more monsters. Also monsters seem to do 300-500 damage to other monsters compared to the average 18 or so a hunter does. As much as I like monsters interacting with other monsters, this seems pretty cheap and only benifits the hunter since they can just ignore the extra monster and follow the injured monster where ever it goes.

If those aren't random events but are scripted to happen every time I'll be really disappointed.

There is, but theres also a line between being mad and being autistic.

At 4:20:00 in the livestream an anjanath hunt happens where the G.Jagras walks past the fight about 3 times, but only got munched on the second time it walked past. The third time it walked past the anjanath it didnt really get attacked, it was more like a shitshow where it suddenly decided that the hunter was a threat too, just like older MH games. You'd think it would try to avoid the fight entirely since the monsters are supposed to have smarter AI and interact with their environment better?

Not if the larger monster tries to start fighting you, where shit would needlessly become hectic, or you could just run away i guess??? It would have been better if the bigger monsters would spin the smaller monsters around like an attack or defensive technique while they attack them.

This is not Monster Hunter.

Considering World is naturally going to be a constant topic due to being the new news, any thread about Monster Hunter is likewise naturally going to be full of bitching, because there's nothing good to say about it.

I thought the wyren/bat thing is mount where you control it, theres another gameplay in the dessert area where they ride it to travel around

...

What's that? All I hear is "hit Diablos in the head with a hunting horn."

Finally, a monster where HH is allowed to hit the head. You should feel privileged, HHfags; this is the only time you're ever going to be allowed near a large monster.

Jesus christ, you're not kidding.

Fuck me, Monster Hunter Stories makes me want to snap my 3DS in half.

First of all it's Rock/Paper/Scissors. On top of that, it's Rock/Paper/Scissors with AI CONTROLLING THE MONSTER IN THE PARTY. There's no indication of what type of attack an enemy monster tends towards doing unless you see them repeat it a few times (in which case it's a guessing game while hoping RNG doesn't fuck you over) or fought them before (in which case you choose what attack that counters it, and hope RNG doesn't fuck you over because the enemy monster can still do other attacks).

Even if you switch out to a monster that's supposed to be more effective, the AI still has a fucking retarded chance of choosing the wrong type of attack. Yeah, you fucking keep using Power against that Speed type monster, even though you're a fucking Technical monster. Fucking christ.

How can people praise this? Like there's an article title I've seen while googling information on the game saying that "it's the BEST POKEMON they've ever played."

Like… the idea is amazing. Getting these awesome monsters, hatching them, taming and riding them. That's fucking cool. From what I've seen you can get everything from Aptonoth to Deviljho or Kirin. And that's probably the only reason I wanted to keep playing. I want a Kirin as a bro. Or a Stygian Zinogre as a bro. Or Brachydios and Teostra, because I love me some Blast. I wanna wear those awesome armors while using those awesome monsters as mounts.

But the combat is so infuriating with its guesswork and being punished for the AI messing up, I just want to delete the game and never look back.

You answered your own question there. Remember, most people writing articles and reviews don't actually play the game, or only an hour of it at best, and so when they hear that it's janken combat, which has always been used as a pejorative against Pokemon, they immediately come up with that comparison despite not realizing how much more literally appropriate it is for Stories.

Fuck that game, dont subject yourself to that torture. Just get a dog and name it zinogre, brachydios or some shit, i couldn't stomach that game for 30 mins let alone however long you've played it for.

I really wanted to play that because of this, but everything I hear about the combat is a major turn off. Why couldn't they just make it an normal turnbased RPG?

I still want a Sekaiju no Meikyuu ripoff with different weapons as different classes.

...

prowler spent almost entire time fucking off and hunting bullfango and being useless otherwise, and gs nearly triple carted

Y tho?

Because casuals

I remember fighting an offline diablos in 3U with the gobul hammer. Between KO, para, sonic bombs and traps I managed to lock it down for what must have been a full consecutive minute with at least 4 other KOs/paras, yet despite this I still managed to time out. Granted, the fact that the hammer I was using was on the low end of raw but that experience stuck with me and I now know this fact very well through experience.

Anyone want to do some High Rank hypers in XX?

Yeah I love hammer on diablos.

Heh. I like the game a lot, but I understand where you're coming from. Well, you do start having more control over the RNG as you gain more skills for you and your monster, the Rock-Paper-Scissors is like the neutral "attack" option in your usual RPG. The monster will attack by itself unless you directly command it, to compensate for it, when a monster uses a skill by it's own choice it won't have any cost to the Kinship bar. You also get other strategical options as well, like the option to customize your monsters to higher levels than your usual monster taming game by making different gene builds, like a Thunder Tigrex for example, even doing things like transferring a Gypceros Flash skill, or a Rathian's Fire Breath by sacrificing a monster to get it's genes on another.

But the janken battle system is there the whole game, so if you don't like it, the game is not for you and there's no way around it, even because this game gets really hard as well, various boss battles, sidequest encounters and the final boss are full of infuriating bullshit. Well, I love games like this, I'm a Dragon Quest Monsters fanboy, but it's not really a Monster Hunter game, it's just a monster taming game with a Monster Hunter setting, so only proceed with it if there's something in particular about it you already like it, otherwise I recommend you to drop it.

When I mentioned the bad AI from the livestream webm related is what I was talking about. I could get some more examples for you guys.

How the fuck are you able to stand Naviru? Every time i see the thing i just want to break its dumb little neck. Seriously that little shit drives me up the fucking wall.

Oh boy, he's horrible. He does get a lot better later after a chapter where you meet other altered Felynes like him and get a bit of backstory. But yes, I'd much prefer he doesn't existed.

What hurts the most is that the game feels like wasted potential. I like everything about it except for the combat.

I suppose I'll just drop it.

I'm still in low rank in MHXX. I should probably play it more.

The fuck is his deal anyway?

damn

All the monsters seem horribly slow to me.

Now for some reason im reminded of Okami-Den on from the normal ds. If the combat was more like that game and would have excluded naviru, MHS would have been baller af.

Want more clips? I literally just learned how to record videos from my screen just now.

They are doing their part to teach use to recycle our garbage who am I kidding

I can tell by that 10 second webm that manage to get up to 3MB

Sorry. Since I jumped on the MHXX wagon late I'm a bit unmotivated.

It doesn't help that I went back to MH4U for a bit and got a taste of the fluidity of Charge Blade that they removed for MHXX. Fuck, I miss being able to charge my shield properly from sword and shield mode. Or being able to pull off a super burst after a GP or shield thrust. They could have just nerfed it down to a single burst instead of a super but instead they just took it away.

What?

But fluid combat is cancer, shill

Not true, only shitters who play only multiplayer complain about Longswords.

yeah the combat being too good is why people don't like world, holy shit you found it out.

ALL OF MY FUCKING MONEY

Get over it dork, CB is fine, just use all the other moves it has access to, or just play brave GL if all you want to do is get easy 3 second GPs and watch big explosions.

Incidentally is anyone who was asking about playing double crossed still here?

They went to bed I believe.

Still, it's the pattern being argued.

Too many things really, like the fact that he's a genetically altered felyne that can use eletric powers, and that's why he looks different from the usual Felyne, for example. There's even other strange cats like him, like pic related. There are two story arcs about him and that's what saves his character because they are pretty fun, one is a saturday morning style adventure in the secret lab from an evil scientist, and the other you save an absolutely adorable Felyne village from the curse that's one of the main plot points in this game.

Navirou is the consequence of a failed marketing research, Capcom really felt that no matter what they needed a mascot in this game, but ended up being a bit too wacky for it's own good. He's like the Jar Jar Binks of the Monster Hunter series.

THIS. Seriously, they went with so much brown and bloom that you can't tell one turd apart from another turd WITHOUT the glowy shit all over it. Monster Hunter never had an issue with showing "yo, this item is important" apart from what was background

Mon hun: Bane edition had a neat concept for i's free hunts with a map you could just explore all you want, monsters that would show up and then leave after a certain amount of time, forcing even the time-limit-free hunt to have a sense of urgency and compelling you to be aggressive. This game's "just go out and hunt" method with no time limit, food, and fast travel, the ability to swap weapons on the fly, and the ability to regain resources be "smelting" weapons has no penalty for any of your actions.

oh baby

...

just get it used if your shekels are burning a hole in your pocket. Don't give money to capcom.

I don't know if anyone has seen this shit but putting down traps are soooooo fucking fast.
I have a speed set up on an armor in 4u and it's faster in world without the skill.
Casualized to fucking hell and back on so many little details that wouldn't be so big of a deal if it was just on its own.

I found stories to be pretty enjoyable.

The lore of scientists genetically augmenting monsters and armor and the fact that human raised monsters are smart enough to work as a team of 5 without a human around and accomplish tasks is pretty interesting to think about.

Yeah it's rare as fuck. I mean, it's somewhat easy to find a chic in Narga gear or Kirin armor, gijinkas are rare enough to find, and I'm kinda stunned at how there isn't really any furfag art.

The designs must be too intimidating.

You should still get it. Pirate it or something.

it seems like it's pure RNG at first, but you'll eventually put together that each monster has a pattern and some characters in game will inform you of said pattern.

IE: Ludroth of all types will use Power attacks. When they stop and use a water/element attack, they will follow up with a Technical attack. Black Gravios will fight normally for the first 1/4th of his HP, and then he will spam his heat beam, so you'll want to bring a monster who can use Skill Seal and punish him with water (royal ludroth again or most water monsters).

Dude, just learn what the monsters do. Yian Garuga is a terrible tech type because he spams power and speed techniques as special moves. the best tech type is Shrouded Spider.

Don't forget that juggling the amount of Kinship you have and commanding your partner to not use the retard move agaisnt the opponent is part of the game.

It actually has a lot more depth to it that allows you to manipulate the RNG mechanics and, basically, remove the RNG.

He was irritating at first but he got somewhat better as the game progressed.

basically what said.

Number 3 a cutie

I still like CB a lot and play it religiously in CB. But some of the changes are shit, like separating the shield states into yellow and red and buffing the shield to do those little bursts any time you block instead of during GPs and rewarding you for pulling it off.

Now that they buffed red shield to be stupid strong they needed to add a drawback. So they made you change into axe, then charge the shield, changing you back into sword and shield mode, which adds a middleman and clunkiness to how it handles.

It's like Switch Axe in that now that they added a cool new technical weapon, they don't know what to do with it. It feels like they needed to add extra things to guild/basic style so that they could change or take them away for the other styles.

So if I pull him out against a speed type, he'll still do that, even though the game says he has a tendency towards tech type attacks? So the game is lying to me, then? Really, how am I supposed to know it'll spam its skills instead of doing what the game tells me it does?

And yes, I'm aware that you can control what the monster is doing. But that's after they level up some and learn some moves. And you still need kinship gauge to do it, which means you still have to, in part, play the stupid fucking RNG game to get you some. And when you're facing an unknown enemy it's still "Guess the right moves while being punished for the wrong guesses!" until you get it right.

And it's never going to happen. Why does Capcom™ hate fun things?

4U room 20-1091-9222-5302
pass 1488
come and hunt. feel free to post your own quests; I'm up for anything.
You might find me afking in the lobby, though, if people are slow to join.

It's time I honed a weapon.
What's better 28 attack or 60 def?

Nothing else.
Don't be one of those clowns running around with 930 defense and no damage boosting skills.

Attack is better. For G-Rank defense doesn't matter too much. You're not supposed to be tanking more than you should be getting out of the way.

New BO of /monhun/ here to shill the newly restored board (since the last BO abandoned it after the April hack).
Please come and help me bring back some life into this board so that we can have a good home when MHW hits.

Search Japanese art sites. MH is not niche in Japan. Quite the opposite really.

I bet you are also only on right now to snipe the next thread as a shill thread before this thread reaches page 13.

...

He did. Don't watch the anime, though. Navirou there is absolutely terrible and it will make you retroactively hate him again in the game.

You're going to have a whole board just to play Mystery Science Theater 3000 with World?

I'm not shilling for, or shitting on, MHW (my personal philosophy is to wait until a game comes out before passing judgement). I'm just trying to revive /monhun/ since I got control of the board literally this morning. I will admit that I'm posting here to shill for /monhun/ since I think it's a board with some potential, but nothing else. At least I had the decency to post on a MH thread and not make a new one like a faggot.

Same as above. I'm not one to talk shit about a game before it comes out. Are there things I like and dislike about what I've seen? Yeah. But I'm open to what MHW has to offer unless it proves itself to be shit.

These are the only threads I can see being on a board dedicated solely to monhun. Maybe I lack imagination, but I think /monhun/ will be dead on arrival. A thread for forming hunting groups might be good, but a new board will likely be too slow for that. It seems like it's a challenge to get a full party from this thread alone.
What've you got planned for such a board, anyway?
Why are you using Tor, though?

Because he is most likely Shill OP and wants to hide his ID. Also as I predicted Shill OP already made another shitty thread before this one was dead.

My abstract vision is for /monhun/ to be a community of casuals and pros who get together and talk/shitpost about the game and generally have a good time between the internal arguing which is unavoidable. How any of this happens is really up to the users. I can't force anyone to do anything, nor would I want to. The way I frame it in my mind is like this: Which would you rather have? A general thread on Holla Forums, or your own board dedicated to monster hunter? I believe the game is niche enough to be interesting an not draw in a huge crowd of random faggots (i.g. Halo, PUBG, etc.) but is popular enough to have a decently active community. This board has actually been around since 2015 I think. I've only inherited the mantle of board owner less than 24 hours ago. I used to post there a bit back in 2015 and 2016, but had to stop for a while since I started college in fall of 16. My dream for this board is to be as close as possible to a large group of guys (and the occasional CIANigger trying to datamine) sitting in one place and just talking about/playing a game that they love. What the anons want, whether it's to get together and play, talk about new/old MH games, write greentexts, draw porn, or to create low-energy memes, it is in their hands. The board is your oyster (within reasonable limits), if you will.

Sorry for the drawn out sales pitch. What do you think? Would a board like this interest you enough to post every once in a while? I kinda adopted this board on a hope and a prayer. I really want this board to succeed, but I can only do so much.

Also, I use Tor because I'm a paranoid faggot who hates CIANiggers That, and Codemonkey sent out an alert to all BO's that a hacker has been "leaking volunteer names, hashed password, salt, account type, board list, and email addresses" and recommends using Tor or a VPN. Tor is the easiest of the two for me to use.

I already explained here: that I am not try to shill for anything but the /monhun/ board.

I know that chances are high that you're not being serious, but if you want. I can prove I'm not OP and am the BO of >>>/monhun/

/mhg/ is already a very slow general. A full board, for just one series, is almost guaranteed to be even slower. It's the same problem any other series runs into, sadly. That said, I hope it ends up at least somewhat active.
Probably to avoid being identified.

You're dreaming big. I wish you the best of luck.

...

Thanks, man. I whole-heartedly expect to expect to have my lofty expectations crushed. But until then, I still have enough enthusiasm to try and make this work.
I'm not trying to make the next Holla Forums here, but if a group of anons could stop by and make a quick post or maybe even a thread every once-in-a-blue-moon, it's consider that a success in my book.

The board was not very active to begin with, and the fact it got abandoned by the previous BO after the April 1st hack and was never restored didn't help either. I know it looks dead (because it kinda is), but I have high hopes to bring in more traffic. Hell, maybe MHW releasing might be the boost the board needs.

I posted, for kicks. I won't hold my breath, however. But I'm secretly hoping it gets just enough traffic to be able to easily start a hunting party in 4U, because I don't think I'm getting MHXX at this point, and MHW could wind up a steaming pile

Thanks for the post. I hope the board picks up steam too. And I have some faith in MHW, I wouldn't cast it aside just yet. At least give it a chance.

You should of course try talking about the board once /mhg/ gets un-bumplocked, ill be sure to contribute too whenever i feel like it.

Thanks man. That really gives me hope that this might work out after all.
I'll be sure to light-handedly shill the board when I get a chance. When does the general get un-bumplocked? I don't post on Holla Forums that much, so sorry for being new.

It has done that multiple times over now.

It's really disgusting, thank goodness mods did their job and killed it this time instead of rewarding it by letting it live.

Its supposed to be unbumplocked at soon as this thread hits page 13 apparently. I think the hotpockets locked it because an autist complained about the thread by calling it shilling and pointed out the last thread wasnt on page 13 yet. it was on page 12

We can agree to disagree. But hey, MHW isn't the only game out there. You can come to >>>/monhun/ and talk about MHXX, MH4G, MHFU (my personal favorite). I'm just trying to build an Outer Heaven for you guys so you don't have to be subjugated into a general thread.

New thread
