Been playing Baldur's Gate at work lately. It's been a ton of fun. This is my like millionth run or whatever. I've actually been excited to go to work lately so I can play it. My dudes are all level 4 or higher now, just killed Bassilus.

My friend got me the job, think he might have gotten fired too. He won't talk to me.

She did it because she regularly beat the shit out of him. One night she did that and we all showed up after she took off walking. We ended up having a bunch of people there so I ran home, got consoles/arcade sticks/controllers/liquor, and returned. We had the first annual scrap night. We started doing it every Friday. Obviously not having total control of his life pissed her off. So she decided to get even.

I ended up embarrassing her badly through social media. I got up the day after I lost my job and posted the entire story on social media for everyone in our small town to see. Since I come from a respected/honest family everyone took my side. I'm pretty sure she quit her job because I haven't seen her car at her former work place, which is a diner in town, I'm sure she got tired of people telling her she's a piece of shit.

Yah, waiting until a0t gets around to finishing the NDX bundle, as that has a more fluid version of the game included with it. I don't mind waiting though (especially since they're working hard on ToD DC for the PS2 right now, and their last monthly progress report says they're done with the base translation for Stahn's Side's main plot), but it's going to be a while.

I'll tell you what annoyed me the most though was when the game froze about fifty minutes into the third stage of the final boss fight (Plume Dhaos). I just said fuck it, as when the game froze, it was only ever during combat, and that fight was bad enough without the freezing telling me to get fucked. Haven't played it since.

my general opinion is if gas goes down it doesn't go down by much but if it goes up it could potentially go up by a lot. depending on how much you use you could get half a tank and try to ride that out for a week if prices go up or if it goes down just fill up the rest of the way.

Speaking of which:

The big factor that I could find with it was that for some reason, spells had a small chance to freeze the game. Especially healing ones. The only times it ever froze was during combat, and I had to get used to saving frequently on the overworld (for some reason there's no rune circles to use to save in towns, compared to how later games have places in towns to save at) so as to not risk losing so much progress. And that final fight is VERY healing intensive (phase two the boss is an endurance match of whittling him down, and phase three he hits like a fucking truck despite looking like a disco angel). Again, I think it was something caused by the translation patch and a later patch version rectified it, but I don't know. I'm stuck with what I can find prepatched/converted for PS1 and newer games because I'm on a toaster that doesn't like various patcher programs.

We're not really rich…we're just well off. We struggled for 20 years and finally got a bit stable. We live on a farm and use some of the boats in our pond but he just likes buying stuff honestly.

He just lost his father so I assume he's doing what I'm doing: buying shit to take his mind off the fact that we just lost the glue that held the family together. It's looking like I'm going to be taking over most of his responsibilities. I'm begin vocal lately about it since I've been doing most of the farm work for years. Spare me an acre for my home or I'm moving out of state again. I'm not trying to be a dick about it but I'm sick of doing all the work and watching my siblings (who I raised) get shit handed to them that was promised to me. My little brother weaseled me out of a building/shop I wanted to start my business in. Just because him and his girlfriend wanted a place to live in for free. He makes like $20 an hour but says he can't afford renting anywhere else. It's bullshit, he's just lazy. All they do is sit on their asses all day watching twitch.tv. He met her on the internet and moved her in my Dad's house 3 years ago. No one knew she was here for a month because she never leaves his room.

It's comfy, just sick of taking care of everything and not getting shit in return. I've kept tractors, barns, and cattle up my entire life and never asked for shit. The one time I did my brother ended up with it and everyone acted like I was begin an ass. I moved away for several years and came back because of my Grandfather's declining health and the fact that none of my siblings/family was helping him run the farm.

I've been pretty clear on the issue the last week or so: Give me land or I'm going elsewhere and y'all can start doing all this work. I'm already in my 30s, I want to build a house, start a business, find my teammate, and start shitting out kids to keep this place going. If I or my brother don't have kids the family name dies with us. He's obviously never going to have any and I don't think he'd make a good father.

Basically, I'm telling everyone I'm next in line to be the Don. Either help me keep it going or stay out of my way. I'm sick of taking care of everyone and getting shitted on.

Dubs of truth. Why we got out. I can't recall exactly what we grew but my Grandfather was really good at it. His father started this place from nothing. They both knew their shit, they stopped farming it when I was 3 years old so I never had to work the tobacco fields. I did it a few times for neighbors/friends, I won't be doing it ever again. It's awful work. I can handle it but I'd rather just pay help tbh.

My farm is ran 100% by me, sometimes family help, and if I need farm hands I hire friends (whites) for no less than $10-$15 an hour.

My main concern is just paying the land taxes and having enough left over for repairs/eating on. I still use the same tractors my Great Grandfather bought in 1964. We make enough to live on and buy boats/arcade cabs with. We aren't really rich. There is a difference between begin rich and just maintaining the wealth that's already been built. I probably have less in my savings than most anons after you figure up all the taxes/insurance costs I pay every year.

Think of it this way. Think how much dirt and seed you can turn over with just one man in a day. Now a month. Now a year. Now ten years. The only hard part is doing it and owning the land.
It's just like saving money. The little you save in one day becomes alot in a month and a very large amount in a year. After ten years ideally you have saved alot of money. Atleast you would have if money wasn't valueless fiat.

That's how my Great Grandfather did it. He got kicked out of his house at 5 years old because they couldn't afford to feed him. He was the 12th or 13th kid they had. He got a job at a mill at 5 years old and just started saving all he could. Bought his first few acres, lived off of it and saved his money. Met his wife at the mill at some point. They pulled their money together and just kept buying the land next to what they already owned.

When he died he was a millionaire with 150 acres.

They're basically just a place to store stuff. I wouldn't call it art, you just build a good foundation and put the wood up around it. Only ever built one from the ground up. I just maintain all the old ones my Grandfather/Great Grandfather built. Putting a roof on the hay silo last year was really sketchy. The entire thing was rotted. Had to go up there, pull up all the tin, replace most of the wood, then put tin back over it. Almost fell through it several times. Did it all without begin tied off.
