End of an Era

They did it.
They found a way to completely kill World of Warcraft permanently, with no chance of recovery in the most underwhelming rushed anime second season tier way possible.

Bravo Blizzard.

RIP.

Thanks Doc??

Why would they kill their most popular brand? Despite how shitty it has become, destroying it is just stupid.

Grácias Doctor! No se que isìera sin tí!

Webm or get the F U C K out.

Gracias por mi medicina, doctor!

Clicking shit that aint nigga I

Finally

THANK YOU DOCTOR

Because they're completely bankrupt in writing skill

Only the Old Gods and Void lords are left, we're finally going the route of Gurren Laagan with all this future is in your hands mortals crap.

This Pantheon story is kind of cool. Who wrote it, because Metzin is far too retarded to write something like this.

Why are they so stupid that they end up turning every interesting character into a boss you have to kill?

...

The greatest thing about all of this?

It's been-
Shit, I don't know how many years- but-

They're nearing the end, and there's no Necromancer Class in sight.

Are they, though? If they did end World of Warcraft, they'd just make World of Warcraft 2.

Thats the most inexcusable thing. They've had so long to put it in but Pandas and Horsecock Elves take priority it seems.

It would be pretty funny and horrifying if Blizzard made another MMO and basically took over the entire market again for over another decade. Although the MMO might actually be dead as a genre and will never see truly massive widespread success again.

Stars of Starcraft :^)

It's interesting that MMOs aren't more popular now that technology is better and the world is shittier.

Blizzard believes they have done enough with the death knight to say its the necromancer class.

More like Starcraft Universe.

back to cuckchan and leddit with you, tardo

Why?

You could say the same thing about any genre really. Whenever Blizzard makes a certain type of game and that game gets really popular, the genre dies within a decade every time.

Overwatch managed to instantly kill whatever subgenre you want to call it.

I'm looking forward to the death of first person shooters, then.

I have never been so glad I stopped playing and caring at the end of Burning Crusade.
Though I did invest too damn much of my life into the game in the first place so I guess it's a wash.

What? When was this?

it ended back in Wrath mate.

Mcfucking kill yourself

Wow was never good, fams.

Wait a minute have I heard of something like this before
Is this perhaps an "End Times" of World of Warcraft
Seriously what the fuck is up with Blizzard and copying off of Warhammer, I mean it's not like Warhammer itself is entirely original
Prepare yourselfs for the World of Warcraft: Age of Sygmire

Well ASSCUNTs are already dead

Elaborate for those of us who aren't fa/tg/guys.

Nothing of value has been lost.

He means Draenei, calm down.

They're gonna shut down WoW and start anew with WoW 2 or God forbid, Warcraft 4.

So you're saying we're in for Warcraft 40k? So Starcraft, but with paladins and shit?

Well I'd assume this is common knowledge but a couple years ago GW decided to kill of Warhammer Fantasy so they can add Space Marines because Tom Kirby is a cunt
I don't have the full recap but basically Necromancer king wanted souls so teamed up with the chaos gods, and started the end of the planet, later then went back against it, a hero of each wind of magic was found and tried to fix shit, failed, a hero of all the chaos gods managed to fuck it up completely and the world ended and now we have age of shitmar

nice trips but that's called Starcraft, we're looking at Warcraft Age of Shitmar

Also this also seems like it's not only End Times but also part Horus Heresy

I have never in my life played WoW, but even the slightest bit of lore I read regarding the Lich King pisses me off to none other. W3RC and FT was my lifeblood growing up, and I always thought Arthas was super awesome, especially at the end of FT when he essentially became giga god-tier bigdicken. Even hearing about what happens to him in the shitshow called WoW infuriates me.

This is going to be a Starcraft 2 Legacy of the Void tie-in. I can already see it.

FUCK OFF TV TROPES

FUCK OFF TV TROPES

FUCK OFF TV TROPES

FUCK OFF TV TROPES

FUCK OFF TV TROPES

anyone else still playing? I'm having fun

Or a Starcraft MMO.

To be honest, by the point he picked up Frostmourne, he'd fucked himself beyond repair. There's also the matter of his fucked up WoW model, which downplays his masculinity giving him that ugly fat chin and lack of facial hair.

Then there's Malganis going stock Dreadlord, then Dreadlord with Mutton Chops, but still not red, then JUST FUCK MY SHIT UP In legion where you fight him again as he's been halfway skinned alive and basically looks like something out of a horror movie. I don't think there were important largescale allussions to the dual Forsaken Faction thing before it boiled over in wrathgate, either.

They reduced what he was to become to a Saturday Morning Cartoon Villian making every stop possible to play on his villiany to become corny as fuck, constant one liners, monologues, lack of silence, obsession with do-gooders, and often repeat of his goals and aims pre-battle, next to getting constantly stopped by the Forces of Good in incredibly I'LL GET YOU NEXT TIME GADGET manners.

Also, seeing his face on occasion was also a jarring issue, like people couldn't decide if they wanted shadow under there or not, and when his mouth was visible it detracted from him being undead or whatever he ended up as when he picked up Frostmourne, like his age-skip.skin tone change turning to this sickly blueish crap and now how it looks in WC3 Boxart or even ingame.

They'd be teasing assets for it already with some event. Then again, the last time they did that, it was for Wrath, back when they still had a shred of decency and creativity.

...

A Starcraft MMO would be huge in Gookland. They would be retarded do not jump into it after WoE is dead.

Well they certainly aren't smart.

...

I haven't looked into WoW in a while. Is this kind of shit normal for Blizzard nowadays? Because this looks worse than the fucking Naruto/Bleach anime mod I have for Frozen Throne.

...

Yeah they went full shonen in Wrath, maybe even earlier.

>embeds a jewtube link about speculation over WoW lore
Clickbait video, clickbait thread. 2/10 you got people to bite.

I never cared about WoW, yet I always wanted how Arthas' story would go after Frozen Throne. But this shit just fucking hurts.

Same here.

Isn't Warcraft Lore just Warhammer Lore lite?

Just like WoW was always EverQuest lite?

Diablo was Roguelike lite?

Overwatch is TF2 lite?

Blizzard is a company that specializes in casualizing shit, it's like people keep forgetting it.

The porn probably has deeper storylines

Don't get our hopes up you fucking mongrel-mulatto.

I assume Illidari, because fel power = demons = draenei = horsedicks = horsedick shemale demon hunter elves

Man i fucking hate blizzard. I will be so happy if they bankrupt. Still wont happen because too many retards spend shitload of money for rng cardstone and wow

theres way more companies i want to go bankrupt than blizzard.

Ubisoft
EA
Gearbox
Bioware
Nu Bungie
etc

As an autist who loved the Warhammer lore before GW went all retarded and blew it up, I'm going to assume you're saying this out of pure ignorance. Warcraft started as a "please don't sue us" knock off of Warhammer, but the divergence after the original Warcraft is significant. And while I'll never claim Warhammer has amazing lore, the one thing it did have is fucking tons of charm and dark humor.

Warcraft's writing even at its best (meaning before WoW) was optimistic, hopeful heroic fantasy. Consider the climax of WC3 - All the good guys get together, put aside their differences, and unite to face the greater evil. Arthas and Illidan may have fallen to darkness, but the rest united for the greater good. Innocent people died along the way, but this isn't dwelled on any longer than one mission where you have to mercy-kill a bunch of them before they join the ranks of the undead. By contrast, the greatest Elf mage who ever lived once came to reinforce the Empire against a massive Chaos invasion, was called a coward by the Warhammer version of the pope for using magic instead of fighting like a man, and decided to let thousands die horribly fighting demons and demon worshipers even though it was in his power to wipe them out single-handedly because he 1) knew they would win anyways and 2) thought it would be a good lesson (and 3) is kind of a dick). There's another story involving a clan of dwarves being hired to build a castle for an Imperial nobleman, then after they finished, realized they were short-changed. So they gathered up their friends and family and got their weapons and stormed the castle, slaughtering everyone and taking heavy casualties in the process. Because of a 3-cent accounting error that they thought was a deliberate slight. I don't claim Warhammer's writing is amazing, but there's a charm to the dark humor and those are just a couple of examples of the sort of thing that happens that you would never see in the saturday morning super hero cartoon world that is Warcraft.

You get a lot better taste for the setting in the RPG books than the wargame ones. One of my favorites is the Old World Bestiary, which as the name implies describes several creatures mundane and fantastic that inhabit the setting. Each creature has a general description, an explanation from the point of view of the species in question, and the point of view of various scholars, including several by a Skaven (rat man) assassin that mostly boils down to the most effective poison to use to kill it. Pics related, one is from a wargame armybook, the rest are from various RPG sourcebooks.

Is Konami on your list.

Didn't Konami practically commit suicide anyway?

The Culling of Stratholme was one of the more interesting dungeons in the game, especially in regards to the Infinite Dragonflight. The Caverns of time are a series of dungeons where you go to different time periods in Warcraft to stop the dragons from interfering with past events. In this dungeon, after killing some undead and a couple mini-bosses, you actually fight some dragons. The boss warps in, tells Arthas that if he doesn't stop, he'll become a force of incredible evil and that he must be stopped for the good of everyone. And you, the savior of Azeroth, hero of multiple planets and even timelines, fucking slaughter him just to make sure that Arthas still becomes the Lich King and keeps the timeline horrible.

Nu Bungie will suffer a fate far worse then bankruptcy
total staff replacement and then turned into a DLC factory

Konami isn't really in the industry anymore

Caverns of Time we got didnt make any sense at all and here are examples of them:

1. Vanilla: Caverns of Time existed in vanilla and you could clip through it or just rez on the other side of door and explore it, there were many hints that AQ patch would actually take place in the past where you take part in that war with Night Elves and Fandal Staghelm + Dragons vs Cthun and his army because some force is trying to change that timeline to make it so Night Elves + Dragons lose. Also there is a huge Alliance boat stuck in the rock with the instance portal behind it and judging from the insignia and broken shield near it it could be Warcraft 2 naval battles (prob Battle of Tol Barad)

2. TBC: All these shit from vanilla was scrapped and we got 2 dungeons + 1 raid, Thrall dungeon was Metzen jerking himself off but people accepted it because Thrall reformed the Horde and helped at Mount Hyjal in delaying Archimonde, Black Morass dungeon with opening of Dark Portal made 0 sense because orc invasion of Azeroth is what made Azeroth shit in the following decades. Also Medivh opening the portal was retconned since it was shown he did it on purpose while the original lore says he did it by accident because he was a greedy wizard always trying to gather more and more power through magic rituals. Mount Hyjal raid made sense since there was a 5th boss not present in WC3 and it was heavily hinted that Infinite Dragonflight had something to do with it, there were also unused lvl 71-73 Hyjal Infinite Dragonflight NPCs but for some reason Blizzard decided to remove them.

3. Wotlk: Once again this one didnt make sense since Arthas leaving for Northrend and going into Mal'Ganis trap was a bad idea, only reason Blizzard did this is to shoehorn Arthas everywhere for marketing. (I have to admit dungeon was done nicely but lorewise it made 0 sense on why we are pushing Arthas into turning evil)

4. Cata: There was supposed to be a raid about the first Burning Legion invasion where people go and snatch the Dragon Soul so they can prevent Deathwing corruption or simply kamehameha Deathwing, Blizzard got lazy and just broke it into 3 shitty dungeons.

Time travel is just a bad story element all around. It can be done well, but very rarely is.

honestly i prefer "dream" sequences (you drink some thing fall to sleep and experience past events) over time travel because time travel is just shitty writting

QUEEN JAINA WILL GAS THE HORDE
FINALLY, ALLIANCE EXPANSION

Alleria is sniffing void crack now she will join her sister Sylvanas and not join dreadlord Jaina

i think alleria will use her new edge powers to stop her sister.

I've seen one or two Hearthstone videos (which is a piece of fucking garbage, but occasionally interesting to watch due to the retarded combos) where there were 'Deathknight' cards that seemed to change the character you were using into an edgy version of themself. Are these edgelord versions actually canon? I mean, look at this shit.

Hearthstone usually release some kind of teasing card of a character that will be added into the expansion, for example Gul'Dan was picked as Warlock's main char so everyone knew he is gona be there in expansion which was later revelaed to be WoD, same shit happened with Legion too so yea you can expect Anduin to go bipolar emo and tap into his dark side to defeat some enemy then revert to his normal form.

Basically nothing from Hearthstone is canon apart from maybe the League of Explorers characters, and the fact that Hearthstone is apparently actually a game in the Warcraft universe. The entire latest expansion is just a big "what if" and nothing more.

I can think of a number of ways to create more raid bosses from all of this, you are really retarded if you think they will ever stop using the corruption meme.

Yes user, it's all canon. Garrosh, Uther, and Gul'dan all came back to life and swore fealty to the Lich King. Arthas is alive again, too, and actually alive to boot, but Uther kills him and takes over the Ebon Blade. Jaina is a Frost Lich now, Rexxar creates abominations out of animals, and Malfurion can summon a 5/5 Ghoul, draw five cards, gain five armor, and deal five damage to a target of his choice, whatever the fuck that means.
It's all canon. All of it.

Death Knights raise ghouls and cast bone shields, they're necromancers.

webm please?

NOT REAL NECROMANCY

hearthstone is as spinoff as it gets, treat nothing as canon
that being said, deathknight uther is the best thing in a long time

Alternate Universes are a thing due to some bullshit in Cataclysm due to Dragon Aspects beign rendered pointless and time travel with entropy space Dragons and then Warlords of Draenor.

So they're canon in their own universes respectively or something.

That said, Anduin is still a bitch, regardless of resolve, he needs to see his daddy asplode to grow a pair.

...

Blizzard said they had a Runecaster and a Necromancer class planned, but they decided to combine them into one class. I remember it way back when they were talking about WOTLK development

Blizzard has never made a game that could have ever been considered good.

lol stop being such a fucking drama queen edgelord.

If I remember correctly, some of the justification for that was that if Arthas didn't drive Jaina across the ocean, she couldn't have fought at Mount Hyjal and Archimonde would have succeeded to destroy Nordrassil.

So basically, we have to make sure history stays the same because the bronze dragons said so.

Then it would make more sense to keep Arthas good so he and Jaina could flee to Kalimdor and fight. This shit's retarded.

Let's be honest, Cavers of Time were just a paperthin excuse to turn iconic WarCraft moments into dungeons. I didn't mind that at all.

Did you ever consider that maybe the stuff the Infinite Dragonflight pulled could have actually done some good and Nozdormu was just really autistic about keeping the timelines in order?

What I'm saying is that neither side lead to a good outcome and that being able to actually change history yourself rather than just do what some asshole with a gold exclamation mark over his head tells you would make an interesting change for once. Too bad player agency is a foreign concept to Blizzard.

Wasn't there an alternate timeline of sorts where Arthas and Jaina marry and basically live happily ever after?

To be fair, player agency is a difficult concept if you're dealing with a theme park MMO.

but that doesnt make sense because Arthas was the one who raped Quel'Thalas so Kel'Thuzad could be reborn and he was the done who raped Dalaran and protected Kel'Thuzad from Dalaran forces, if Arthas didnt turn evil Burning Legion invasion wouldnt happen at all.

constants and variables

And Archimonde would still be alive.

Y'know, I normally don't trust females, but I might be able give dating a dickgirl a try.

Why is 90% of Warcraft rule 34 either futa or interracial?

good fucking riddance

seriously though, who the fuck still shills this shit?

I would like WoW to die and get replaced by a competent sci-fi MMO but I might as well wish for a billion dollars and a thousand-woman harem

Not a Warcraft player at all, just here to see all the cringe.

Didn't that happen already?

But, then you're dating a dude, user?

end your life please

...

I like Arthas

Because that's what appeals to the fanbase.

You know they're going make Jaina "le ebil rayciss villian" and she's going to be a raid boss, right?

They've already got the skin in their Assfaggots clone already, Jaina is gonna be a Dreadlord.

But will they cover her up like they did the dead elf.

I actually liked vanilla orc's lore.

It was one of the original stories I believe and was on since vanilla World of Warcraft.

Space goat women are kinda hot, but 75% of the porn gives them donkey dongs.

I guess we won't have a decent dark fantasy setting after Diablo 2?

No kidding. Even TF2 is slowly rotting away at this point, after that "we want the overwatch audience" update.

Heroic Necromancers are far more Diablo than Warcraft.

Plus I'm pretty sure Blizz doesn't want to put all that time, money and effort designing another class the Chinese can't play.

I haven't played this shit since Cata. Legion is actually a really fun expansion and wraps up a lot of dangling plot threads I've been waiting to see resolved for a long time.

It's about as good as I think WoW can get. But that's not a glowing endorsement per se.

Honestly, it all sounds good but my problem with wow isn't the story.

I wonder how many confusing rebalances will happen the moment the new expansion is released. Fuck that shit.
