We used to have Atelier generals, where has everyone gone nowadays? Blue Reflection western release soon, right after TGS, Nights of Azure 2 western release one month later.
Any importbros who can give out their opinions since its been countless months?
Can't wait for this. It's got absolutely everything I love.
It's dual audio, right? I know KT learned their lesson about only releasing games with western dogshit VA a long time ago, but you always need confirmation.
Ian Anderson
I got it on release but never finished it, though I dunno if that's the game's fault or my fickle taste. The battle system is standard turn-based Gust fare, and there are a lot of cute girls.
Parker King

Nights of Azure 2 is total garbage with no actual endings related to any girls the MC dies no matter what and that's without mentioning there is no yuri besides undertone shit. Gameplay has also gotten worse with time limit, 30fps only, forcing you to have only 2 servants in your team, etc
Blue Reflection is average and i find hilarious the PS4 throttles at fucking cutscenes.
Jap devs no longer seem to care about optimizing and compressing their shit too
Ian Lopez
Is this just shovelware like senran, valkyrie drive, nepshit, fate, legend of heroes?
Ethan Morales
I don't think there are even english VAs Pretty sure its Japanese audio only
Fair enough, guess the kickass music and the lewd will make me go through it. Maybe the plot will surprise me
Kekmo and Gust have been on board for some time now thankfully
Shame about Nights of Azure 2 Was actually looking forward to it after the first received some nice fan input on its downsides.
(checked) Yes, feel free leave
Luis Kelly
Thank you based KT for being among the few who lead us to seiyuu heaven.
Nathan Cruz
Shit, I thought Azure 2 was supposed to be an improvement. How did they fuck it up?
Josiah Edwards
And ive heard the exact opposite about Nights of Azure 2. What happened?
Jonathan Wood
I hope the PC version of Blue Reflection isn't just another Vita port like Aterlier Firis and YS VIII. It probably will though and it'll be fucking terrible. I like the Vita as a handheld but what it's causing to PC ports of jap games is just terrible. I fucking hate that they think it's ok to port the ugly low resolution Vita versions to a platform that's usually known for looking the best and being the most powerful.
Julian Hughes
What? Do you mean the games being held back by the Vita hardware?
Kevin Jenkins
Why would they port the Vita version instead of PS4? Isn't it easier to port PS4 to PC since it uses x86?
James Jones
The biggest slap in the face was that they made Arnice amnesiac and killed off Lilysse, so you could "romance" her route (which is again nothing more than skinship, as well as for the rest of the cast)
I was already disappointed by the lack of proper endings in the first title tfw no yuri corruption bad ending where fMC would demon-impregnate her friend. The sequel took no lesson of that and you either die by yourself or bring the blue-haired childhood girl to die with you, leaving e"blondie drills" childhood friend all alone
I miss the kind of endings you used to have with the Atelier Arland and Dusk titles where you actually got a different ending for each character you were striving for
Whoever told you Yoru no Nai Kuni 2 is an improvement was a moron.
I wouldnt trust Koei Tecmo (and Gust) these days as they've considerably lost their touch Potential ideas wasted in poor gameplay executions and poor optimizations.
Doesnt excuse KT/Gust of pulling this bullshit like said above.
I'd blame the trend of jap devs of no longer caring to optimize/compressing their shit thanks to the PS4.
Andrew Long
No I mean they literally take the Vita version and bring it to the PC. 720p assets and all. They did it with Atelier Sophie where I think all 2D sprites were low res and with Firis some of the textures as well though I didn't play that one so I'm not sure.
I dunno but that's what keeps happening.
Dylan Moore
Is Gust losing their touch? Do they just not understand what their fans want?
Most of their games are just yuri subtext, Nights of Azure was supposed to be more explicit.
Jace Smith
Apparently thats what they did, the exception being Nights of Azure the only on par with the PS4 version unless you invest some time to mod the Atelier games to make it look as good.
Fucking Kekmo
Dylan Murphy
It's fucking awful that they're doing that shit. I could've sort of understood it for Sophie because that was their first Atelier on PC, released way later and maybe they were just testing the waters but the fact that they did the same with Firis and had a simultaneous launch with other platforms is just terrible. They also didn't include the extra DLC chapter for Sophie that supposedly leads to Firis until way later when Firis was already out. I just feel like they care fuck all for the PC versions and it shows in the work. They'll probably just pull out of the PC market and say that it was because people didn't buy their games but forget that they only released gimped versions of them.
Brayden White
Koei Tecmo has a history of poor PC support. I'm surprised you guys forgot about Dead or Alive 5 Last Round, Toukiden kiwami, and the older musous
Ian Robinson
Does Gust suffer from the same problem that some Jap devs do when they got an a and b team? When it comes to optimizing games it has been shit for years now, so nothing new in that department.
you need to explain MORE, that is the most important part!
Robert Howard
Hhhmmm
Jordan Butler
You people are making Gust terrible. I'm fine with cute girls doing cool things but all the flagrant rug-munching subtext and overtones is infuriating. Remember Ar nosurge (and Ciel before that)? Not an ounce of actual yuri. All healthy romances (between grown men and girls who stopped physically aging at either 12 or 13) and nice developed characters with thick plot.
Ar nosurge was a masterpiece and I expected that kind of narrative flare to be something Gust strove for from then on. I didn't expect more 4th wall breaking, obviously, but things to be really good. Escha and Logy was really fun, too.
THEN HERE COMES THESE UTERUS RUBBERS I thought Gust was doing this because someone had a stroke on the team and got their p's and q's mixed up in writing the script. Then I thought it was just pandering to the bottom barrel of Nips, before realizing that yuri has been a growing trend in anime for a long time now. Now I see the madness has even touched YOU
…I'm the only one who has a problem with this, aren't I?
Gabriel Thomas
Yes, you're the only one
Noah Smith
Yuri is strong (fictional) relations of any sort between females moreso than explicitly romantic or sexual. Would you be upset by a book in which a band of male characters form strong bonds over the course of their journey that might approximate love? Would you start shouting "THIS BOOK WAS RUINED BY THESE GOD DAMNED FAGGOTS" just because of such a thing?. Just because (a fictional, idealised) expression of female bonding presents itself as something more romantic doesn't mean that the core concept is inherently different. The issues only start when you get a vocal minority whining about things like Logy being in Escha To/& Logy and potentially pairing up with Escha. Any kind of romance depicted in anime is ridiculous and unrealistic anyway, so I don't really understand why the single fact of consisting of a hetero couple somehow qualifies the relationship as 'healthy' in any meaningful way, 2D is not the same as 3D

Yuri is carpet-munching anime turbodykes and you only like it because seeing Chinese cartoon girls kissing makes your dick hard. Stop pretending otherwise.
John Phillips
And?
Juan Ross
Next you'll go on that whole tired tirade about how masturbating is the devil.
Lincoln Rogers
Boy sure love wasting dna on cartoons. Low energy is the way to go.

What else are you supposed to do with it? Put it in a 3dpd?

Ar nosurge/Ar tonelico was good because it was the lovechild of their composer who went beyond autism with the lore, the language and the music. You won't see this level of savant genius ever again.

Mana Khemia 3 never ever.
I just want another fun alchemy school adventure with a simple calendar system like MK used to have, and of course, Flay/Gunnar shenanigans
Bless Akira Tsuchiya. I got the retranslated AT2 iso patched with 480p running smooth on my modded console. Still need to finish it…

I will never not be upset that we didn't get the hyper autistic version of Ar Tonelico you would've needed a doctorate in Advanced Reyvateil Phonics to complete.
Jordan Diaz
isn't this game basically persona: magical girl edition?
Static waves D-wave Take, for example, metals. Differences can be observed as the frequencies acting on them vary between 0Hz and ∞Hz – these differences are not reflected directly in terms of their fundamental shape, but rather through physical phenomena, such as melting because of high temperatures. H-wave These waves cannot be explained through analogies related to physical matter; they are, in essence, waves that carry feelings and the intent of thoughts.
And now we get basic shit like laying tetris in Sophie.
Ethan Evans
Reyvateils and the Tower didn't even exist in that version of the game. We'd only have gotten a slightly repainted version of the high-difficulty mess that Atelier Lilie was.
