Guild Wars 2 had a Chinese release a few years ago, probably because NCsoft wasn't happy with their profits at the time and needed to milk it for more cash. They added stuff like a subscription, lowered xp rate to encourage players to buy boosters, and the ability to just buy legendary weapons directly from the cash shop they're just prestige weapons that you grind for, the American and Europe GW2 also allows you to buy gold for money but someone had to have made the weapon first.
If this is anything to go by, going for Chinese audiences could mean an introduction of subscription models in games that originally had none and ways to get around grind through cash. Of course, this could just be the Chinese jewing their own people, and it probably is, so it's possible stuff like this will just stay in China.
I don't know if GW2 is even still running in China, but the sales for Path of Fire will probably be abysmal over there because they really hate niggers and that expansion is basically kangz n' shiet.
