Does every speedrunning events have to have some charity riding along for money? How did it become such a defining part of the scene? I guess I've seen too much waste from "non-profits" to feel altruistic about them all the time.
NASA doesn't do charity it's all fun and games, it's just that doing charity shit adds more viewers and more money to their organizers pockets, plus most speedrunners do it to get to advertise their channels as well. Pretty much a win/win for everyone except for who ever the charity is helping since I doubt 10% of what is raised actually helps anyone who actually needs it.
