Sonic thread

You digging mania?
What're your thoughts on Forces?

A new story trailer has just been released. Turns out Infinite is a robot, powered by the Phantom Ruby and it's only been 3 days, and Eggman's already done that much.

Why was old sonic shoehorned into this?

Not really. It's a sub-par fan game.

He sells better than new one.

You know the reason already, the fact that you said "shoehorned" answers it partially.

Lack of confidence in 3D modern Sonic, to move units.
That's it. And that's why they're reusing Green Hill again, among other assets, instead of changing shit up.

good thing mania ended up being great

This reeks of Lost World writing and tone. So much for Adventurefags wanting their shonen lite back.

Old school sanic is not as fun as I remembered it, I'm out of reasons to live now.

its still gonna sell because of that character creator, though
then if the next sonic generations clone has no character creator it'll just bomb

…unless it has a chao garden

I'm noticing a lot of people that says old school Sonic was never good just aren't experienced with platformers besides Mario. Or old school platformers in general. I mean some of their complaints for Mania was how the lives system is archaic and how it's too difficult compared to modern games, all because they don't understand the basic concept of git gud. Or that they don't know how to press fucking down to roll over enemies in their way Even Yahtzee complained about the concept of a timer which is just bullshit because even Mario had a timer.

Eh, I went and replayed Sonic 2 and S3K and they were just as fun as back then. Mania just doesn't stand up to them.

Threadly remnider that Sonic Robo Blast 2 is the only true patrician Sonic title.

Post yandere femdom Infinite

Why the FUCK was this kept locked to a move no one would bother using?

This

I replayed 2 a bit ago and it wasn't as fun as I remembered. 3 is still absolute perfection though.

mania is as good as s3k and s2 was never good

You are wrong.

What are people's gripes about Sonic Mania? I think the game is pretty decent. The levels are interesting and varied, and the presentation is nice. I feel some of the deaths I've gotten were utter bullshit and beginner's traps. Maybe some of the bosses go on a little too long, too. I'm on Titanic Monarch Zone, and I think the game is pretty alright. Maybe not worth the pricetag, but it's alright.

Also, doubles.

Very nice.
Over-reliance on gimmicks. Even larger one than in S3&K.
It uses S3&K's "cinematic stages transitions", but it's usually just fucking nonsensical teleportation rendering the entire exercise pointless.
Special stage is shit. It's worse than both S2 one and Blue Sphere one.
Bonus stage in pointless. Remember how bonus stages in S3&K gave you shields, lives and rings? Enjoy unlocking useless outside-of-the-game trash.
Oh and it's just copy pasted special stages from S3&K.
Bosses are gimmicky.
Music is trash.
Last boss is boring and underwhelming.

It's just an amateur fucking fangame through and through.

Impressive, very nice.
Some issues mainly have to do with originality. We've seen the zones too many times to really care if they're remixed or not. Even the new stages mainly use shit we've already seen with the exception of studiapolis.
Music ranges from great to trash remixes.
The bonus stages are terrible in that you may as well ignore them since they don't get you anything useful and just break the pace of the game. Why bother getting rings when the bonus stages don't have anything of value? It doesn't seem bad at first, but it hurts the game a lot.
Oh and the last boss is shit.
It's still pretty good despite all of this but it still pales in comparison to 3.

Maybe it's because Blue Sphere is fun?

For somebody willing to sit 24 hours through it maybe.
They even didn't come with new stages for it through, it's all lifted directly from S3&K.

Not true actually, 14 out of 32 are from 3.

I agree. I find some of the gimmicks to be pretty creative, but it does take away from the core game.
Yeah. I've never liked the blue sphere stages. I was surprised to see me rewards for completing those in this game are medals that seemed to have no in-game value. The new special stage, I like the design of, but I think it plays like shit. It's like it would fit on Saturn, which I find charming.
Some of it I like, but the tracks that try to mimic the classic songs sound completely off to me. Blue sphere was blatantly obvious, even though I haven't played S3 in over a decade.
I'll have to see how that is. I'll take your word for it.

The hype for the remixed stages did die for me pretty quick, yeah.
That's how I feel. Some of it is pretty good, other times pretty shit.
Was S3 really that good? I don't remember enough about it. I'll have play it again after Mania and see.

Absolutely disgusting.

So why did they only throw old ones at me whenever I went in there?
Do you need to complete old ones to get to the new ones?
That's fucking retarded. If I was outright thrown into brand new blue sphere stage I would be instantly intrigued, but after beating a bunch of shit I played to death years ago I just stopped entering them.
BAD GAME DESIGN.

By last boss I mean TRUE last boss, the one you fight as super sonic.
Boss before that is not complete shit tbh.

Close this tab right now and go play it.

Getting real tired of crappy Sonic games.

The zone list for me, the new zones are alright, but press garden was the only one I found kind of fun. Studiopolis feels like a crappy Carnival night/Casino night crossover. And as far as the remixed zones they just kind of fell flat for me.
Green Hill zone is getting stale, would have preferred Palm tree Panic.
Never liked Hydrocity, would have preferred Labyrinth.
Chemical plant is gimmicky bullshit, would rather have starlight.
Oil Ocean is shit, basically anything would have been better from sonic 2, like hilltop.
But the biggest thing is there is no fucking Ice Cap.
The bluesphere bonus game, while fun enough, provides no rewards in stage for entering them. Plus their a bit long for a checkpoint bonus, something like the gumball machine would have been better in the sense that its quick, and provides a intimidate bonus in the form of rings or a shield.
With everything said there though, other than generations its genuinely the most fun I have had with sonic since s3&k.

I agree, it was the only reason I played S3&K. I hope some day Sega will realize this and will make a game focused exclusively on Blue Sphere stages. Maybe then Sonic will stop being shit.

On what fucking planet?

Can we talk about how beautiful the animation in this game is? It's rare to see frame by frame animation in modern games. Nowadays it's just Flash like Shantae and Rayman. Only gripe is some user said the rotation of some of the sprites looks to much like Flash. And it's funny that Aaron Webber was the animation producer.

Yeah, the Super Sonic fight was pretty meh. I also found flying weird.

I don't really get the negativity in this thread around Mania, to be honest. A lot of the issues being raised, like the inconsistent level transitions, blue spheres being the only bonus stage, I don't get.

Like the music being "shit" it's not supposed to be 16 bit, it's 32 bit "CD Quality," something immediately obvious by the instrumentation, to anyone who'd heard something from the PS1 or Saturn. Hell, I'm fairly certain I've heard the intro instrument in Flying Battery act 2, in some of the PS1 X games.

And the special stages aren't bad, or even that challenging. You just have to treat it like Sonic's got momentum, which he does, and it makes more sense (jump and turn in midair, stay on the ground to steer around obstacles, don't plan on influencing your direction much in midair).

The bonus stages being blue spheres only is too much, though. The unlockables it gives are nice, but even as someone who likes Blue Spheres, it's inappropriate for the campaign.
3&K got it right, with giving you short minigames to get powerups. They lasted barely a minute at most, and didn't break up the flow as a result.

Honestly my biggest gripe with the game is how restricted Act 1 of every zone feels, half the time. I wish they had just hit the ground running, and started with the craziness, though as the game goes on they do actually do that more. Lava Reef act 1 mixing with Endless Mine, and Stardust Speedway with Marble Zone, come to mind.
That and how IIzuka basically forced them to make it mostly old zones. Undermining the root of the design philosophy, "lost 32 bit Sonic game," in the process.

That and no real mention of the copious references and easter eggs, in this thread.

Yeah, I can agree with you on that, but…
Kill yourself

correction on the first line.
>A lot of the issues being raised, like the inconsistent level transitions, blue spheres being the only bonus stage, I do get, but some I don't get.

I also don't get why people are calling this a fangame or romhack when Megaman did the exact same shit with 9 and 10 and it's just reusing the old 8 bit graphics, while Sonic Mania added more smoother animation and newer tricks.

I'm going to finish Sonic Mania in a little bit, and then I'll try Sonic 3 again afterward.

Got it. I still don't have all of the chaos emeralds. I'm going to grind for them now.

I liked it when I thought it would fly under the radar, but now that I see all the normalfags liking it I hate it.

I mean, it's not like it isn't really true. But I don't get how it's in any way a bad thing.
If anything, that's exactly what the series needs, considering the fans are the ones making better shit than SEGA, half the time.

As for why someone would leverage that against Mania? Same reason vandals destroy shit. They can't stand seeing something just be well made and good, so they need to tear it down.

What a hipster.

true final boss is not bad but it gives you a similar "what the fuck am I playing" feel as the final boss of Generations
cool music though

Good god yeah, I found that a rather weak excuse. You explore the zones and go fast doing it, you CANNOT dawdle in a fucking Sonic game of all things.

Only correct Answer: yes
would have actually payed money for it if not for denuvo
not sure yet, but I loved Generations so it all depends on how close it sticks to a winning formula.
For the longest time Sonic CD was my favorite, but now Mania is my best bitch. Starting to burn out on classic Sonic after playing though ever Genesis game several times in the last week. Still joinsing for Sonic. So I decided to go back and give Sonic Adventure another shot even though I was never a huge fan of Modern Sonic games.
so I reinstall it and find out there are new mods for the game
Game looks better and controls better then ever before, even the sound issues are mostly fixed. Still not perfect but actually fun.

no, and filtered.

Shadow being a villain still doesn't make any sense. Especially with his backstory and all. I like that Metal Sonic and Chaos are back, but this game just looks lackluster. Makes me wish Yuji Naka would come back and make Adventure 3, since there are good things from the boost gameplay like drifting that can be implemented into the Sonic Adventure style games. I also like the idea of dashing like in the Fark demo.

With that said the game and story itself just seem like senseless pandering, especially after the shit show that was Sonic Lost World. Seeing how SEGA has been doing extremely well with other games like Yakuza, Radiant Historia, Puyo Puyo Tetris, 7th Dragon, Virtual On, etc. I think it's safe to say that Sonic Team should be renamed Puyo Team since they're lost in this nostalgia cluster fuck instead of trying to make the next best thing.

I know people say Sonic Lost World was experimental, but it was experimental in all the WRONG ways. They were trying to make Sonic into Mario, while Forces is just constant fan service without anything that makes it unique on its own. They should completely remove 2D and Classic Sonic from the 3D games, and work on perfecting their 3D gameplay. If they can't do it with the Generation style of gameplay, then go back to the Adventure style and perfect that. Either that or they can make something like Utopia which is completely new but still has those core foundations that make it a Sonic game.

I didn't know Sonic Forces was as a thing until this thread. What new female characters are there?

The only valid question in this thread.

Only thing that bothers me about Forces is that they're putting the wisp powers in again. They're neat but I'd rather they bring back the shields from the 2D games.

hmmm

I don't know if you're aware of this, but if you insert the Sonic 1 cartridge into the Sonic & Knuckles lock-on cart, you'll get to play a game called Blue Sphere by pressing A B and C simultaneously. It features 128,016,000 Blur Sphere levels to play. Enjoy user.

I don't give a shit about sonic but holy shit does that thumbnail look like an ad for communism.

Yeah, the whole resistance thing REALLY wasn't a good idea in hindsight.

It really doesn't

Checks out, Nipples is a canon feminist after all.

...

People, with expectations hatting on what is otherwise actually a fun game on account of it not following a prescribed "sonic" formula. Not saying this is you but Generally, just another example of your typical Sonic Autism not liking change. The same can be said about Sonic 4, it was actually a fun game, it just wasn't a real Sonic Game. If ether of these titles where produced as New IP's people would likely not have been so critical.

On a tangential topic, it seem to be two types of Sonic fans (outside of the typical CWC freak show). The Classic fans and the Adventure fans. The boost formula, with side scrolling panders to both sensibilities but doesn't fully satisfy ether. They should honestly Just make another Adventure game. It doesn't even need proper hit boxes or collision. It doesn't even need to control well. Just needs Ryan Drummond, Homing attacks, long legs, dopey spines and those green eyes. :^)

NO

Take classic Sonic and add chao. Bam, perfect.

Rember the shitty Prince of Persia reboot with cell shading and a DLC ending? A Sonic game with the same structure of open world-ish interconnected paths with dungeons could work well, just replace the PoP acrobatics with sanic fasting and fasting-related moves and make the traversal actually fun by mixing up those moves.

It's actually funny because as of now Mania is the best game in 2017 until maybe Odyssey comes out. But even Mania is better than the other Mario game that came out near its release (Mario + Rabbids).

I actually pirated a copy of that cell shaded PoP back in the day and don't remember anything about it. So in some sense its exactly like Sanic Adventure just without the Chao Garden. What was the deal with Chao anyway? Its not like you could actually do anything fun with them.

I can't wait for 2.2 to come out in like 30 year…

I agree with you tbh, although I think they should improve the Adventure formula rather than do a copy and pasta of 1 and 2.

...

delete this

Adventure had levels, not open world with dungeons. The PoP game had an open world-ish design, there was a bunch of paths that led to various areas and in those areas you had dungeon-like levels where you just had to get to the end, you could tackle these levels in some different orders I think, and it was all seamless without transitions, like one big map. It was kinda like a mixture between zelda and dark souls style open worlds.

welcome newfags

what if the new Sonic game was like Dark Souls?

While I'm at it, I'd like to add that the complaint about returning Zones, I don't really think they're a big deal. Their inclusion is admittedly less exciting as if it was all new zones, but this isn't Sonic 5, it's Sonic "Mania." As in those fads in pop culture

Well okay, I lied about that last one just for the pun, but you get the gist. It's a celebration of the series history, only actually done well with a proper physics engine, and graphics that actually retain the spirit of the originals. Not to mention, like, as much as I don't like Oil Ocean, it's good to see the more obtuse parts of the series, receiving some attention. Even the master system games get referenced here, with parts of Green Hill being ripped out of Bridge Zone, and the obvious Silver Sonic.

I think the biggest problem that Mania has is how impenetrable the true 10/10 level of enjoyment a player can get out of it, is directly locked behind how in depth your knowledge of the series is. What would be an incredible shoutout to a sonic autist, would be some bizarre part that doesn't fit, to some newcomer.

A common theory is that he's mind controlled, since he has the anime "dull eyes of mind control" going on.
And it'd explain how, if we're going on canonical timeline events, this game HAS to take place after Heroes, which means Metal Sonic would still have been a defector, trying to usurp Eggman and shit, so "mind control" type shit would also explain why Metal's a lead villain again.
As well as Chaos, though like, Chaos just existing in this game conflicts with a lot of shit.

But it'd make sense if Infinite really is powered by the phantom ruby, since we see him shuffling the timeline and dimensions around, in Mania.

That being said, yeah. The story really does seem phoned in, and still missing the point. Sonic doesn't need to animate like a rubberhose character, to get the point across, but he should be "animated" if that makes sense.

Look at how much standing around he does. If this was better written, we'd see him doing more stuff in the background, when he has no choice but to stand around, for example.
Let me explain.
Current way of animating Sonic:
What I'm talking about:

...

I can't tell if I'm mad that it happened or impressed that they managed to copy Sonic 2 so well.

Freedom Planet

...

I'll fite u. Mania has the best Special Stage in the whole series. I'd play a whole game of it if they fleshed it out.

Each time you play one, win or lose, it goes to the next in the cycle, and eventually that cycle loops. If you get the Silver Medal in a level it is removed from the cycle until you get all Silver Medals. Then all the ones you don't have Gold Medals on are re-added to the cycle, and removed again once you get the Gold Medals for them. Once you get all Gold Medals, they just cycle regular again forever.

So basically you either weren't paying attention or you played very few of them. I thought it worked out okay because just by playing through the game like normal, I happened to get my final Gold Medal during my third playthrough. So I did Sonic & Tails, then Knuckles, and then Tails, and got just enough challenge out of the Bonus Stages to last me that long.

The game is about Time Travel. All of the villains are probably taken from the time period of their original games, just like Classic Sonic in Generations, and like the Classic Zones in Mania.

I wouldn't be surprised if the same thing goes for Metal Sonic, that it's CD era Metal Sonic. Even though this isn't necessary, because Metal Sonic has already come back as a henchman since Heroes, in Rivals. But then he's against Eggman again in Free Riders. But the point is, Eggman can always just reprogram him again every time he rebels.

Boom Knuckles is a different guy than regular Knuckles.

The Phantom Ruby gave them robo-vaginas.

Are you gonna post this shitty image in every Mania thread? You were already told in the last thread that it's a reference to Sentai shows, where female heroes wear yellow and pink outfits.

I bet you don't even watch mecha, fag.

Yellow was male in the sentai.

...

Yellow can be both male or female depending on the show.

WHY THE FUCK DOSE SEGA REFUSE TO PORT THE CHRISTIAN WHITEHEAD VERSION OF SONIC 1 & SONIC 2 TO PC??????

Because people think the mobile port and the emulated version are the same thing.

We were gonna get the original levels and Sonic 1+2 in one package, this was the original pitch for SoA before Iizuka-sama stopped baka gaijin from going troo far.

yes but why not port it anyway? So many sanic autist would buy another copy of the game provided its not infected with Denuvo. Why not Port Sonic 3 & Knuckles and then make it a Master Collection, sell it for $30 bucks. Sonic 1-3&K with save's and a stage select and optional cool stuff like drop dash.

shit that is what I want so badly. I Just want a version of Sonic 2 with less shitty special stages, 60fps, widescreen and a time trials. Sonic 1 would be fine too but what I want is a Sonic 2 with the post 3&K bells and whiles. Being able to beat the game, then pick stages alone, or even having Time Trials adds so much to theses games.

Who knows, maybe sega forgot about it.

CD's camerawork was groundbreaking 25 years ago, but it's not that essential in the 16:9 remakes. Also Sega Japan's spindash has a forced delay allowing for smooth screen panning, you can't do that with STI's version without killing a few epileptics.

Don't forget CD. The only one that's actually on anything other than phones.

Have you seen Forces?
You really don't think SEGA and Sonic Team are out of touch to this absurd of a degree?

Literally all they had to do for the past 23 years to reinstill faith in the brand, amounts to little more than a fucking romhack, or if you're being really fancy, a polished version of the kind of shit LakeFeperd can churn out on a yearly basis.

Twenty three. God damned. Years.

This trailer has done what every other promotional material has failed to do: Make Sonic Forces look good.
I'm kinda surprised it took them this long to get it right.

Not to mention that LakeFeperd is now making a 3D game.

...

yes of course 1-3&K implied CD

I love CD, the only think I wish Whitehead added to the Port was the ability to replay levels (with your save file). Just having a no-save stage select doesn't allow scrubs like myself to work on getting better at special stages. Having to do them all in one run was always my achilles heel, and is part of the reason I liked the Time travel mechanic because it was an alternate rough to a good ending.

I think you are out of touch to an absurd degree. Sonic Generations 2 looks like it might be fun

Generations 2? Where?

Frankly, making it that easy to get the Emeralds just makes it trivial, like in 3&K and Mania. I sympathize a bit more in Mania since it's much longer than the other games, but redoing CD to get the emeralds doesn't take very long.

user I did not grow up playing sonic games. I was raised on Mario. Played Sonic at my friends house. Not to sound like a whiner, I am just too lazy to play 14 levels back to back and make sure that I perfect the special stages 50% of the time. I probably would feel differently if I grew up playing them because after all these years I would have ace'd them by now. The wonky depth perception alone makes theme really award. Maybe if they where true 3D like the Mania special stages, but I just can't into them. Same is true of Sonic 2 special stages which are completely reliant on memorization. My personal opinion is, ether an option to retry them after finishing the game (A la sonic 3), or remake them to be proper 3D stages (like Mania) so that its no suffering from sprite pop-in and no-depth.

Why would I watch a poorly written show for braindead morons where a bunch of gooks in shitty costumes pretending that they hit each other?

Sonic 2's stages aren't reliant on memorization beyond recognizing certain patterns. I agree that I still find them hard despite playing Sonic 2 since it came out though.

CD I find much easier than 2, and the levels are much shorter since they're more built for exploration.

These games are meant to be replayed again and again. I'm not opposed to level select, including selecting Special Stages and Bonus Stages to practice, but in both 3&K and Mania, I felt it becomes trivially easy to get the emeralds after you beat the game, and thus getting Super Sonic and the true final level doesn't feel as rewarding.

I also only played CD at friends houses and stuff until the rerelease, but I still think it has the easiest special stages in the old games. Mania is the only one that's easier. That said, in both games I didn't get all the Emeralds/Time Stones on my first run. But now, after a few replays, I can.

PCfags.

Why can't Sega just not fuck up for once?

That's not PCfags, that's just the Sonic fanbase.

The patterns you recognize are dude to memorization
That is how it already currently is. Beat the game under 4 hours (which is very easy) grants access to a No-save Stage Select.
both 3&K and Mania are the superior systems

Nice attempt, but I think forces actually looks like it'll be fun, too.
The problem is deeper rooted than that. They don't have confidence in the boost gameplay, to sell an entire game.
They still don't have the physics for classic sonic down, and he's going to be in a game hot off of Mania's heels.
And the OC character is basically just Sonic, minus the boost.

The entire game just exudes being a clusterfuck of different ideas, all pulling in different directions.
Which again, contrasts heavily with Mania's confidence in itself.

Which is disappointing, because if you look at the gameplay of the tag team level, they clearly are getting a good understanding of what makes a 3D sonic work. Lots of verticality, multiple branching paths, needing to use your speed to get secrets.
And are even returning to the SA2 style of "lyrics during the levels"

Like, okay.
Here's something that if it was being directed by someone as passionate as whitehead, would've noticed/done something about.
That tag team gameplay is like one big shoutout to the second act (literary, not sonic "acts") of Adventure 2.

And yet never do they even acknowledge how uncannily similar it is to the pyramid infiltration of SA2.
No
no
no

Just

I'm not asking for the moon here, just some minor acknowledgements would be fine. It's not like the series hasn't done this before, either:
>The Egg Carrier is nothing compared to this!

I'M THE BIGGEST OF MASKED MEN, I AM THE CRASHER OF PLANES
I'M THE BREAKER OF SPIRITS, I AM THE RISER OF FLAMES
I'M THE LAST ONE THAT'S FLYING, DON'T BRING YOUR FRIENDS IN MY WAY
'CAUSE I'VE BEEN UP AGAINST BATMAN, JUST TAKE A LOOK AT MY NAME
'CAUSE IF YOU'RE FLYING WITH ME, I AM A FORCE TO BE RECKONED
I AM THE MASTER OF PLANS, I'LL CRASH YOU DOWN IN A SECOND
'CAUSE I WAS BORN IN THE DARK, IT ONLY BLINDS IF YOU LET IT
SO IF YOU THINK YOU CAN SHOOT ME, YOU MUST BE FEELING HOT-HEADED

AND WHEN YOU FILED YOUR PLAN TO HAVE ME BOARD
I played you right into my own game
SO I'LL GRAB YOUR PRIZE AND START THIS WAR
I'm gonna sink you like a tidal wave

WHEN EVERYTHING YOU'VE PLANNED FOR FLIGHT IS GONE
CIA has fallen, I am rising higher
AND EVERY WING YOU'VE HAD HAS BROKEN OFF
What they'll find in the wreckage is fuel to my fire
AND THERE'S NO AIRCRAFT LEFT TO FLY YOU ON
My fire is lit, your crash is imminent and
I PERMIT
YOU DIE IN IT
AND REST IN DISGRACE ON THE INTERNET

SO LOOK ABOVE YOU AND TELL ME WHAT YOU REALLY SEE
I'M NEVER FALLING, THAT'S THE DIFFERENCE IN YOU AND ME
SO WHEN YOUR FLIGHT IS STOPPED AND EVERYTHING IS CRASHING DOWN
IT'S ONLY PAIN FOR YOU, WHO IS GONNA SAVE YOU NOW?

SO LOOK ABOVE YOU AND TELL ME WHAT YOU REALLY SEE
I DON'T FAIL MY PLANS AND THAT'S THE DIFFERENCE IN YOU AND ME
SO WHEN YOU'VE GOT NO FRIENDS AND NO SURVIVORS LEFT AROUND
IT'S ONLY BANE FOR YOU, WHO IS GONNA SAVE YOU NOW?

Yes, I hope so.
Exactly, all they need to do is add new mechanics, hell, make it like Sonic Utopia with a few levels and have sonic run around. Make sonic do flips, have stick bounce in the air while boosting, fucking hell, even give him a flying ability that makes him fly in the sky, or fight while running, etc. So much potential to incorporate stuff into the main formula. Sonic Unleashed's Day Stages were A++++, and they devolved with generations, etc.
That's kind of funny, if I'm honest. They should have just asked whitehead for help, then again, they weren't able to have classic physics in Sonic 4: Episode 2 due to different program languages, shame.
They could work something out, I'm sure, or COULD HAVE.
I wouldn't say that, I mean, It's more of Heroes/Unleashed than SA2 if anything. Still nifty though.
I thought of heroes more, unless that's what you meant.
That would have been fucking amazing! Quotes and all.

Aw my dick, yes. That's what I'd want. Sonic Lego Dimensions did something similar with all the SA1 throwbacks. It would be fucking amazing for this game to have the egg carrier and a sprinkle of older levels like mania did.

fuck

user did you post a half hour video on this "confidence in the boost gameplay" in the past. I remember listening to someone talk about how they believe the inclusion of classic sonic is indicative of Sega's lack of confidence in investing in the "Boost Formula", but what made Generations so damn good was the different playstyles the Generations Engine facilitated. Sonic Forces is literally just Generations 2 with a character creator mechanic strapped on. That is actually a bold move, if Sega lacked confidence then they would have gave you nothing but boring rehashes of the Boost Formula. But because Generations is already easily modifiable then their is no point in just doing more of the same old shit. Why buy Forces when you can just play custom maps for Generations? I am still on the fence on this one but I am more optimistic than pessimistic, hopefully they don't shit it up with Denuvo. A shame sanic fans have such shit taste, would have loved to have seen Lost World 2.

That would be cancer. The controls were the worst, worse than '06 even.

I don't honestly think you actually played the game. Lost World was fun.

I did, but it was frustrating to move around and the wall parkour was trash.
I don't know what I expected and I don't know why I bought it. I like the simple cartoony music though, it reminded me of Banjo Kazooie.
Ironically, that felt more 'Banjo' than yooka laylee.

The parkour system, at least on a conceptual level, was actually the thing that should probably have been taken and expanded upon. See, what happens when you run into a wall in any other Sonic game? You either stop or drift along the wall, depending on the game. If you had the ability to do somethng else when you hit a wall, it would allow for some expanded options. Think of it like this. Knuckles can climb and glide, and Tails can fly. What unique option does Sonic have? The peelout, which is almost the same as the spin dash? The W-spin attack, which is only useful because of the shield's midair attacks? The drop dash, which it took them until this year to implement? Even fucking Mighty in Chaotix had a wall cling, and he was literally a sprite edit of Sonic. But then Izuka decided he wanted the Mario audience and added dumb shit like a run button.

YES! Damn user!!! You're the fucker who should be up there making the sonic games and the game mechanic decisions.
Fucking hell. All Izuka needs to do is re-implement the adventure gameplay, he doesn't need to bring back the chao garden if he doesn't want to, just let sonic controls like everyone remembers him like.

I'VE BEEN RUSED!!!

I'm not liking it. I don't know, the gamerip sounds sharper even though it's louder. I put them both at the same volume and somehow the gamerip still had a better amount of clarity. The supposed "official" version doesn't even have the same instrument separation as vid related.
Weird how the custom endings didn't make it in either.

I can clearly see robo-boobs on both of them. Case closed.

Since Holla Forums and this thread are kind of dead right now I might as well continue to spark fun debates with my wild and wacky theories.
Motherfucker NO. In the last thread I was making theories about Eggman's Emotions and feelings becoming embedded onto the phantom ruby, thus, Infinite being born. I even jumped when he said "I poured all of my hatred onto this", because that's when I knew I hit the nail on the head.
Please tell me where it States that Infinite is a robot, if I'm going to be disappointed I might as well see the proofs.

Anyways, I've got two other theories about Infinite being now, I'm actually going to get a bit mythological with it, and mention SA1
Infinite might be the Sonic Version of Xolotl - An Aztec God
Here are a few key points.
One thing I can say is that he definitely represents death, but he hasn't used lightning yet. I'm unsure what the contents inside the red cubes are, so I can't say fire either.
This tickled my autism because the first time you saw Infinite up close and heard him speak was in Sunset Heights, which is a pretty strange coincidence.
The twins part might be representing Classic and Modern sonic, the rest is self explanatory.
Who is Venus?
And Infinite is the corrupted version of that, who only seeks a perverted goal full of destruction. The red cubes might represent this. That's one thing I'm unsure of.
Infinite only has one eye.
CRAWWWLING IN MY SKIIIIIIN
Phantom ruby, illusions, etc.
Take a look at infinites hips, he's got a light rib pattern with the white streaks he has. Unfortunately I don't think his feet are backwards. That'd be a pretty good detail though.
Which might explain Chaos, representing the axolotl
Look at the dog picture. Infinite fills this in quite nicely if translated to the sonic style.
What is synonymous with eternity? That's right, Infinity.
When he attacks and shoots lasers, shit goes on fire. It's a pretty generic move, but nonetheless it fits.
I need way more information before I come to a conclusion, but feel free to look through the archive every time new info about infinite comes out, there may be stronger links.

Personally, I highly doubt SEGA would bring back pre-spanish Mexican culture into Sonic, they're not too caring about pleasing lorefags and such anymore to make such a grand leap and thus, this will remain a theory unless I'm miraculously right for some strange reason. Just imagine how people will fucking react if Infinite's dead body was found in the Forces world side of angel island, and the ruby was given to him, then his separate energies came together and reawakened his power.
The ruby representing a "ehecailacacozcatl" which is a BREAST JEWEL. You know, on his chest.

Maybe give Infinite a little backstory, a god of a dark clan that went against the echidna tribe, a pack of rouge violent Xolo dogs who wanted to sacrifice other beings for their dark master or something, you know how fucked the culture was, add a little something interesting so fans could dig deeper and see that not everyone from the SA1 storyline has been told and this is a continuation of that.

If Infinite turned out to be an actual fucking dark aztec god more powerful than chaos, that'd be badass.
Just imagine sonic fighting the god of death. Maximum edge.
The other theory was just a badly corrupted wisp becoming evil or something, but that wasn't nearly as interesting at this.

You need to stop posting

Fuck off saging (1). I don't like your kind. The only purpose you have is to come into random threads and start bitching to random people. Get a life man.

I cant handle all this autism

You seriously need to settle down.

Good.

Truly sonic autists are on par with furfags of all stripes.

Wait… CWC? Did the man pretending to be a woman find us?

What's next? Obama and Spider-Man?

I mean it's them infiltrating Eggman's pyramid base.
In a desert.
To stop him from taking over the world.

It's literally the second act of Adventure 2, where they do exactly that. The levels from uh, Hidden Base up to Pyramid Cave, before they launch into space.

While I agree, I was talking about how Knuckles acknowledges past events. The games for a while now seem to never even acknowledge past games, which is fine I guess to keep the stories self contained, but shit son.
When the resemblance is uncannily similar, it's going to appear even more contrived if the characters don't comment on the deja vu.

No I did not. There's probably more than one guy on Holla Forums who writes long diatribes like I do, you know.

And you're missing the point I was making.
If they were confident in the gameplay, they would both continue refining it, and not pad out the game.

But referencing that video, the example he provides in it a good example of why your point falls apart.
You're saying it's fine to pay full price for a concert, but the "opening act" is 50-60% of the concert.

Lost world has little to no momentum. Compare letting go of the analog stick in it, to Utopia.
It's Rush tier.

Blame the language barrier. "Aibo" has different connotation in japanese, than "partner" does in English.
Not to mention it sounds incredible forced to hear the unprofessional as fuck, Sonic, calling someone that.

You know he'd more than likely just call the OC character "Buddy"

settle down, ok?

Nah, user just having fun. That's how you have fun with sonic games. Imagine fantasy scenarios and make theories on something you don't know about characters/story.

Without that autism sonic is just not fun enough, because its just a hedgehog that runs fast and never had good games since s3k before mania came out.

I mean, considering we've had Aztec and Arabic mythology be the basis for Sonic games before, it's not really impossible, all things considered.

It was actually a decent video on youtube. But it specifically made the case that classic sonic was evidence that Sega lacked confidence in the boost gameplay.
AHHHH I SEE, So you DO know the video I am talking about?! Where you just pretending to be incredulous?

Every Sonic thread devolves into retarded arguments between autists about pointless shit. But that's to be expected considering it's Sonic and Holla Forums

(((You)))

reported

Fine. I will.

How retarded are you?

Good cause it blew up :^)

you say that, but imagine how cool a night level would look, with the shattered moon hanging there in the sky.

user, we should raid Sega and direct the games ourselves. God damn that sounds good!!

Jot down more ideas you have. Where have you been all my life?

oh boy..

#nevertru-
#nevereggman #theresistance

Now I can only imagine the autistic fanart of sonic posing with the leftypol cat

Looks like Sonic 2 HD lives. I'm glad it's still alive after what that jew programer did.

...

Looks great! Sonic 2 deserves some love.

What did he do? All I know is that Sonic 2 got a DMCA.

Yeah I said they "aren't reliant on memorization beyond recognizing certain patterns." I acknowledged that was a degree of memorization, but it's not as if you have to memorize the actual tracks. The most complicated pattern to recognize and memorize is that when the track curves, you should stay on the outside because there are often rings there, as opposed to the inside of the curve. Really other than this one thing I don't think there is any memorization involved at all. Just quick reaction times and understanding how to use your momentum to do loops.

Yeah but IIRC you can't select the Special Stages. Either way, I'm saying that is enough. Just reloading the first level to get all the emeralds takes all the challenge out of it. Super Sonic and the real final level becomes a reward simply for a few extra minutes of persistence, rather than actual skill. Especially in Mania, there are tons of opportunities to get only 7 emeralds. Sonic 2 I admit I find pretty hard to do it, largely because the Special Stages are hard. Sonic 3&K has fourteen emeralds and is a shorter game than Mania, and the last bunch of levels don't have any Special Stages in them, making getting the Super Emeralds, or Chaos Emeralds in S&K alone, harder. But Mania gives you lots of opportunities for less emeralds. Even in 3&K though I'd say it becomes too easy and it would feel more rewarding, but still very much doable, if you actually had to do it in one run.

...

You don't need to ride my dick, hombre.
I actually pour over my ideas a lot, due to being a writer and shit, so thanks, I'm glad to hear I can still come up with good stuff on the spot.
But most of my ideas are focused into my own material.

As far as Sonic stuff? I dunno, people liked it when I came up with Zone ideas, the last time I was asked for ideas.
uh

An absolutely colossal plateau full of lush greenery, surrounded by a massive canyon on all sides. Barring the immense bridges, transporting trains to and from, it's a peaceful place, at first.
But the minerals in the plateau cause parts of it to erupt from the ground, before contracting back in, and the residents have harnessed this natural phenomenon to power their machinery.
It winds up being like a mix of Jurassic Park, Planet Wisp, and 1950s Americana.

Eggman has captured the world's largest tornado, and is using nature's fury to power his base. The first act starts off with a weather lab aesthetic, as you infiltrate the base. Act 2 becomes a raging hellstorm, as you've freed the tornado, and it's getting revenge on Eggman, ripping the lab apart, while you make your escape.

You know how Casino Night takes after Vegas? Like that, but for ballroom dancing.

...

Good thing you have humility because idea guys are cancer

This explains whole "pouring my hate into the robot" thing. Eggman's promoting HATE. And INTOLERANCE. And HUMAN SUPREMACY.

Now that's way too fucking harsh, least mania got the physics right.

There's also remembering to turn fucking tails off in the menu because i swear to god if you think you're going to get anywhere lugging a special needs child along, you're out of your mind.

user, if theres a
CHARACTER
CREATOR
its probably gonna sell truckloads even if its just a mobile game… especially if no sonic game before it has had one before

imo utopia made 3d sonic so good, as far as physics and such go, that I was compelled to call it perfect
having a WIDE level is also a gigantic plus; it isn't exactly open-world and the demo level can be done in under 90 seconds if you git gud

terribly underrated

Help anons I'm getting my hopes up. I want the autism to overflow again

I have never completed a single Sonic game, they are so boring. I mean they are pretty and have nice music but the games themselves are so dull.

Well yeah.
Everyone can come up with ideas, most of them are shit.
And the ones that aren't shit are still just ideas.

I could come up with the raddest shit for sonic, but nothing I come up with is going to be better than like, even something in a fucking romhack.
Because what I come up with isn't going to be real.
Hence why I said I focus this shit into actual material of my own.

...

Yeah, I tried Adventure on my old 360 once and it was very bad, the physics were horrible, the voice acting painful and the stages uninteresting.

I just realized-

>"NO! I can't lose to Tails!"
I miss when the game would have little bits like this. Today everything needs to be great friends and loyal companions. Back then we could all agree that Tails was a shmuck

Sometimes but not all the time. It's just raw fun, especially the anime storyline.
But hey, it's alright that you have poor taste. No harm no foul.

What Sonic games have you tried to play?

Pretty sure it's Sanic Team JP not an American

but Utopia has no gameplay.

Holly fuck, but didn't most the original HD team end up working with Sanic Mania?

No it didn't, one of the developers fucked off with a bunch of the source code and assets. This essentially fucked everyone else over on the team. They had to basically start form scratch unless the dude made peace.

trash

Almos5 all of them

...

Fucking amazing, too bad the game itself is autistic as fuck with OCs and THE SONIC MILITARY.

>too bad that story in vidya is more important to me then fun
hehe

But Sonic Forces doesn't look fun

I'm calling it now, this game is going to be fucking trash, that's why they tried to sabotage Mania's sales. with Denuvo.

Calling something "fun" isn't an argument. You can still like something, while finding flaws in it.

user not everything is an argument™, now fuck off with your weak bait.

I bet you one of Marks Testicles that Forces is going to be fun

I doubt you know the definition of the word.

Man now I'v thought of cool shit that's probably not in the game like what if you can wear the Upgrades from Adventure 1 and 2, or if Knuckles Hat is in the game, because Knuckles hat is the best.

Reminds me of Sonic Heroes, it's pretty cool to have access to two move lists instead of just one.

That's the best part! This game's stupid as shit story is like a love letter to young me.

but if none of that stuff is actually in the game then it can get modded in. I just found out about Webm related this mod looks great. It will be neat to see what get's put into forces.

I could've sworn I saw his hat in the character creation menu in one of the trailers, but I might've imagined it.

People aren't going absolutely apeshit over it, so it's probably not in the game. I read somewhere that Sega basically to forget the OVA ever happened for some reason, so they don't want people referencing the hat.

Oh my god, in this fucking mod Shadow says "I'm The coolest" every time you finish a trick combo, That's hilarious

shit wrong webm

I leave you with this.

...

Sonic forces is going to be fucking amazing if it allows me to bring back

THE ULTIMATE TEAM

NEW SONIC Boom. DETAILS.

that's actually kinda cool

holly shit that kid loves Sanic BOOM

Puppeteer animation isn't exclusively flash you fucking retard.

He does. His entire channel is basically nothing but boom, very interesting though.

Thanks for telling me, that makes me angrier than a simple DMCA. I wonder how they got the source code back, if any.

What nuRayman does is called tweening moron.

And as far as mania goes.
My main problem with it is even if you REALLY like the new bosses
If you've already got all the Genesis/Megadrive Sonic games from a sonic series collection bundle at some point, and have played Sonic CD (2011) or the Mobile ports of Sonic 1 & 2 You've basically already played it.

(Also Denuvo, But that's a freebie)

(Oh and EULA 1 eat shit sega you can't waive people's right to sue you immediately after effectively committing maliciously deceptive advertisements)

Seriously if you want some premium quality fucking mad
Read Eula 1 on sonic Mania's store page.
It basically says "90 days after you purchase this, we're totally fine to completely break it and you can do literally nothing about it lol"

SEGA still has Jew residue it seems. What they did was exploit a loophole they found because they knew people would try and refund Mania. So bundling in Sanic 1 helped them prevent something like that, sneaky sneaky SEGA.

It's not even that, they basically straight up admitted they are literally never going to fix the issue with denuvo in the game and are reserving the right to maliciously break the game exclusively for paying customers.
This isn't even judaism at this point. It's SSGSS Judaism.

I can't find many details about the original cancellation. But if I'm not mistaken Ted "IntelOrca" John who was the original programmer and had been working on the project sense 1992 got sick and tiered of the "COMMUNITY" and basically told ever one to eat a dick. Many of the Artist keeped working on it in hopes to get a new C++ programmer and it looks like they had to rebuild the entire engine form scratch. Really cool to see the project back on track. Even Tee Lopes was one of the original collaborators. Hopefully their is no more drama.

forgot picture

Anons, what your favorite sonic fangame? What about romhack? What's your favorite Sonic spinoff game?
Sonic ATS with BTS as a runner up
Sonic Next Level
Sonic and Allstars Racing Transformed 2

Not that I'm aware of. The Sonic 2 HD team is separate from who made and refined the taxman engine. I thought the project was dead. Hopefully it won't die again and have keylogger issues like 1.0a.
Sawnic 2 ach dee team: info.sonicretro.org/Sonic_the_Hedgehog_2_HD
The sonic fanbase is full of autists who make amazing projects and fun games in their spare time.

Did they recently change some of the map designs? I downloaded the newest version to play with my brother, and there seems to be too many choke points that makes you go in loops forever until you find the single path that moves you forward. I don't remember it being that bad compared to when I played it a few years ago.

"Rings" in the area last I checked were removed in the last big update. With the exception of the Aquatic ruin whatever it's called zone

Sonic Dreams Collection
Sonic XL
Sonic Spinball

Deep Sea Zone.

I just checked, and the last version I played before was 2.0.6. This was before technohill had antigravity water. It looks like the latest version is 2.1.9. Also, it looks the the antigravity water seems to get be stuck on the corner of a ceiling sometimes when I'm playing as tails.

Mega milk?

...

Why are you doing this?

Sonic fans are on a low lying leaf as it is man
Just like have a popsicle and read the thread like damn

Warudo R8 finally came out, if anyone cares

It is literally nothing but gameplay you colossal retard

...

jej good one Notch! But seriously, Don't get it twisted. The Physics are good. The engine is off to a good start but it needs a real challenge. Their is no substantive Game to play yet.

...

"Game" and "gameplay" are not the same thing, faggot
Content is not gameplay, challenge is not gameplay
It's also not a physics sandbox, it's a regular ass sandbox for testing sanic gameplay
And despite being pretty open and having a lot of disparate elements meant to screw with the platforming, there's still about as much "challenge" as most first levels in sanic games

Yes they are, but to go by your definition, Utopia has no challenge and little content. It's fun to dick around with for a few minutes, but there's no substance yet. Stop propping this demo up like it's the second coming of Christ when there isn't even anything to do in it yet.

sure ok

Yeah, been pretty fun, finally filled out all my files with all emerald saves as all variants of character + all blue sphere and Knuckles and Knuckles mode ending. so I've pretty much beat the game as a whole.
Nothing they've shown in the game play as appealed to me in the slightest.
OC ranged from OP in combat just one shooting everything or just double jumping over the entire level and unlike generations where there was so much going on each level these feel more barren then any of the boost games from unleashed, colours or Generations. I keep hearing people go "but it's only game they shown" but what sonic game opened up that boring and lame?

Mania is great
Forces is Sega going back to having no idea what they're doing. There's just no way in my mind that it can turn out well, especially after seeing some gameplay. Fucking spunkgarglewee headsets have colourful cartoon characters shouting Call of Duty lines at Sonic.
'm baffled at old sonic being shoved into it again especially with Mania out. Hopefully the nostalgiabait era will end soon and
Everything about it seems tryhard as shit

"it's only early game they've shown" *

It's nuts how the guy who made that worked on Mania's opening cutscene.

I don't know man, everyone that likes sonic has one screw loose or another, and I'm no exception.

Best post in this thread

Capped, I expect you to livestream Mark's castration

...

Oswald Bane is going to show Infinite who the real Masked man is.

Are you the one that drew this? Draw more.

I want more edge.

youtube.com/watch?time_continue=36&v=cupo_fYzzfU

youtube.com/watch?v=GCswkFjUK80

Sorry, I didn't draw that. Oswald bane was drawn awhile ago, back when they were first showing the custom hero gameplay.

I was actually the one that drew Bane Oswald. But thank you for a shout out.

I'll have to let you know user, Bane Oswald is the best thing to come out of forces yet.

Thanks man.

I'm looking forward to Odyssey also. It looks like they're bringing back the 64 and Sunshine moves. The tiara is cute

Great comic, man. But Zero/Alpha is actually E-100, not E-101. Even Sonic Team themselves forgot that when they made E-121 Phi.

Today I beat Mania on "no save" mode, with the super peel out, while also managing to get all the emeralds in one go. Since this is like my third or fourth full playthrough, I can confirm that the game is a little too easy but it's still a blast regardless.

*Just to give some perspective, I suck at platformers (especially those with no save feature) and I only managed to finally beat the classic Sonic games a few months back despite owning them for years.

This robot's different from Beta and Zero. Hint: what's the Roman numerals for 101 and the English equivalent for the alphabet Alpha?

That's pretty clever. I feel bad for not getting it right away. I'll blame it on the drinks I had.

I actually capped it when you made it the last time.

Rest aren't colored sadly.

...

Sega never stopped being retarded. Mania is an officially sanctioned (and pozzed) fangame.

Pozzed how?

I think he means denuvo
It's not how the word is generally used, but denuvo is comparable to aids, so it's more technically correct, which is the best kind of correct

In Zyuranger it was a kid named boy who was the yellow ranger.

...

God I love Felix the cat so much

Man, I love Sonic's PR people.

These are great.

Thanks for the views. I slightly updated the lyrics to what I think works a bit better, but it's no biggie.

I really enjoyed his cartoons and NES game.

I get you, Mania is alright but I haven't beaten it yet. I don't have any longing to play the game, unlike my younger self would have.

It is the best Sonic game that's come out since S3&K and a good game but it's just not a genre I enjoy any more.

I was looking into Michael Jackson's moonwalker video game because I was on a bit of a sega history binge mixed with a Michael Jackson binge
Then I see that he apparently loved the little blue hedgehog to the point where he comes out to the motherfucking place, invites himself in and composes over 40 tracks for Sonic 3 (and for a lot of the best osts on the track, if not most of them)
And apparently this is why Sega doesn't like to talk about Sonic 3 even though it was a fantastic fucking game
Honestly the whole thing made me surprisingly sad for what happened. I posted this in the sonic 2 HD remake thread but
He just wanted to play sonic.
I feel surprisingly sad.

He's right though, not to be a one and done but by the creator's own admission it's more of a tech demo than a game.

Good taste, Mark. Crush 40 songs are timeless masterpieces.

R.I.P., Michael Jackson.

Kill yourself, you retarded hipster faggot.

Your shit mental dysfunction is definitely worthless.

Oil Ocean is boring unimaginative shit. It absolutely should have been Hilltop Zone.

Shut the fuck up.

I like Sonic Mania. It is a fun game.

or maybe because they played enough of the other awesome old school platformers to realize that Sonic is just a shit edgy meme character with a game that only retards enjoy

I've never before played Sonic in Japanese except for me and my brother to fuck around and see how different things sounded after randomly discovering changing the audio in SA2B, but I'm absolutely only playing Forces in Japanese after finding out what an insufferable, typical fan insulting femishit retard Sonic now has as his English voice.

That and, call me crazy, but the new Japanese trailer made me feel like the serious mentality of Adventure and by extension a need to make it a serious project story, gameplay and mechanic wise to inject life back into the Modern franchise as opposed to Saturday morning wannabe shit written by an asshurt anti-Trump retarded bitch.

Do you feel all this resistance theme stuff is going to be absolutely politically butchered in the English as opposed to just being about classic heroes standing up to new actual overwhelming odds with the ideal and not the sad reality of "the people VS the machine"? What if we actually end up getting 2 entirely different feeling games while for the first time ever the English version of Sonic is a Shithouse tier dumpster fire "localization" with commie shit and other Twitter retardation?

Wait, what's wrong with hippy sonic?

Yes
Which is why it's nothing but gameplay
This is not a difficult concept

To be fair I'm sure that was more because Sega didn't want their children's game series to be associated with the world's most famous alleged child molester

Faggot literally insulted everyone being glad that that Youtube shit was ending and didn't know what it was talking about calling them "hurr ur just ignorant, powerless sniveling turds with no interest in muh conversation" in that shitty "fucking kill it painfully" sneering posting style with no argument and pretentiousness.

Despite all the surprisingly triggering shit in Boom, none of it has an effect on this insufferable retarded faggot. Yes, I'm pissed after how much I came to enjoy this Sonic with all of Webber's occasionally triggering shitposting.

But they wouldn't have worked with him in the first place if that had already happened.

That's because it didn't

Holy shit, what an oblivious motherfucker, you have a link to any of that shit though? Not that i doubt it, but i want to see it.

shit, meant for

I JUST WANT A BOOST GAME WITH NO BULLSHIT
WHY DON'T THEY JUST DO WHAT FUCKING WORKS FOR GODS SAKE
NO NOSTALGIABAIT

...

disgusting

Evil SKINNY LOSER NERDS don't deserve to play Sonic

FUCK OFF

ALL OF YOU

More like

Make me, motherfucker.

Marks arms are hairier and he has a more fucked up thumb

Why do people say he looks like Bane, he looks more like an antifa shitstain than anything else.

YOU'RE A FREAKING WHITE MALE, EGGMAN, ALL YOUR ANIMAL SUPPORTERS HAVE INTERNALIZED ROBOTICISM

What did he do? Do you have a source?

You've made this exact same post before in response to those pic's

He looks like Bane because he has an actual cool looking mask that makes him look like a professional, in your pic related they just have bandannas and crap you can buy at a dollar store.

They could turn the custom characters into their own Miis and make more games where you can use them, even connectivity with mobile titles and have a custom Forces racer for the next All Star Racing like there was Miis/Xbox Avatars for the first one. But SEGA isn't creative like that. Have the last thing I fapped to.

And good fucking thing they aren't creative like that, because just like miis are ugly as hell, I wouldn't want these things shoehorned into everything.

That's a OK idea on paper, but it would require either them making a bunch of future game recognize Force's Custom Character Save data, or for them to set up an annoying Sega Account thing where all of there games are connected and that sounds like it would be as bad as Uplay, Origin or Games for Windows live.

Or it could be something like Saints Row 3/4, where you could make an account with the game's website, without having to use a steam client or whatever, and then use it in either game.

Why won't Sega remove Denuvo? I already, owned a version for PS4 and pirated the PC version of the game. I would happy Buy another copy, its hands down my favorite sonic game ever. But I guess Saga hates money.

...

I've never liked Roger Craig in anything I've heard his voice in, so it's no big loss for me personally.

When it got released it did
But before that it was confirmed by people who were working on it with him that he didn't want his name on it anyways
Also that shit enraged me. I looked into the trial and the evidence against him. What a fucking joke. Michael Jackson's life was getting fucked up, but he was not a pedophile and that bullshit trial sent him from a downward spiral into a goddamn nosedive

Polite sage for getting off-topic
Have a remixed OST
youtube.com/watch?v=Xjiv4D6lXdQ
Can't embed because Holla Forums is fucked up again

Yeah, Sony really fucked him over when they pressured him into settling.

The accusations against him were total bullshit, but you can see why it would be super easy to believe he was a pedo
That spotted albino nigga was weird as fuck
I mean, he was a huge sonic fan as an adult(who grew up before video games were a thing, no less), that's a huge red flag right there as any of us here can attest to

been saying this for ages. Lost World wasn't that bad of a game, really fun. Apart from a few levels it isn't "Trash Tier"

Good game overall. I hate hate hate those purple orbs in the last level though.

Almost done.

...

Why does that first image make me hard?

The grand finale.

Bravo user I love you

The ending reviews got me

So the reason we got Sonic Mania is because Sega is actually tied up with Legal issues with Sonic 3's Music (which was Composed by Michel Jackson). So for all you kids crying that it copies too much from Sonic 3, well that was because it originally was meant to be a Port of Sonic 3 but because of Copyright issues Sega, Whitehead and Head-cannon settled on making a "Remix" game that was an attempt to emulate 3's play style.

I knew it!! Still, a source would be nice.

This (vid related) is the source of where I learned the backstory. If I am not mistaken, one of the guys that runs this Youtube channel has been a member of Sonic Retro for at least 10 years (and was one of the people who investigated the MJ S3 story).

WELL THEN. Your source more than checks out, thank you for your contribution user. I am weak for trivia like this.

Brother, that was fucking amazing, very expressive faces too.
Ever thought of becoming some sort of storyboarder?

Retards will buy Forces, my hope is that enough of us bought Mania that Sega will see which direction the series should go in the future.

The only acceptable direction is that they hire on Mania's team full time to contiue making Classic 2D games while Sonic Team continues making whatever retarded fun shit they've always made.

There is no acceptable direction that causes taxman to keep the retro engine proprietary and out of the hands of the public

Too bad, unless Taxman made sure they can't, SEGA will probably lay claim to it since it uses their copyrighted characters.

Can somebody post webm with nigger host making a kid collect 50 rings in 30 seconds with kid failing miserably?
I can't find this shit on jewtube.

Titanic Monarch was by far the worst level in the game.

The first act was great but the second act made me want to tear my fucking hair out the first time and bores me to death every following playthrough.

But it doesn't
It's an engine

...

Does anyone have a link to when Mark leaked this shit?

I have a gut feeling that this is what SEGA is going to do.

Yes. Can't believe it's been a month already.
archive.li/O3uDv

Great joke.

That sounds dangerously reasonable user, and it might even lead to modest profits and customer satisfaction. Suits have an allergy to sane thinking like that. They can't help themselves. Unlike humans that have brains, they only have polyester and sometimes a bit of silk or cotton.

Cotton might be worse than polyester for thinking though.

EGGMAN IS A COMMUNIST CONFIRMED.
archive.is/nbAm8
Along with this nice little piece of information.
Now, who wants to work at eggmans gulag?

Another message, really wish mark could extend the bump limit

...

First of all, Windows sales are miniscule compared to the total sales anyway. Secondly, only a small percentage of those few whose preferred platform is Windows care about Denuvo, most are too casual to give a shit. Thirdly, of those who give a shit, a significant percentage of them would have pirated it anyway.

PCfags are delusional. I'm not saying Denuvo isn't shit, but I am saying to get the fuck over yourself.

You're a faggot if you think the scores tanking so low didn't affect potential sales massively
It was at like 72% when I saw it when it should've been mostly positive to overwhelmingly positive, massively boosting sales and at the very least retaining people's interests
A score like that makes some people immediately turn away
Some look into it and not buy it
And others to just notice the problems with it
You can stop bring delusional if you think this didn't have a noticeable impact. I don't know if it can safely be called "sabotage" but its a possibility at this point given Denuvo's reputation and Sega increasingly showing their distance from the Mania creators

>on (((steam)))
My point exactly. You're not looking at the big picture. And even with just the tiny part you're looking at, just people a few turboautists care enough to do this doesn't mean casuals care. But this is a tertiary point, because those turboautists and casuals combined aren't large enough to matter much.

72% is mostly positive. 72>50.

Don't kid yourself. Anyone who actually reads the negative reviews will find out that it's just Denuvo bitching. A 7/10 score with 90+% of the negative reception being completely unrelated to the actual game looks pretty good to the average consumer who actually buys games and has a constant Internet connection.

They still haven't ported the Whitehead version of Sonic 1 or Sonic 2 to PC or consuls. The people who buy Forces are clearly not the retarded ones.
(Heil'd)
in fact Sonic 4 was more fun then furfagot planet

Nigger, that is because 90% of potential customers boycotted the game due to Denuvo. The other 10% where the people who got screwed out of a refund because they played Sonic 1. Now 100% of those potential customers have a Pirated version. And if they where like me, they ended up buying a console version to support the work of Christian Whitehead.

You must be dense.

Nigger this is about Denuvo. Steam is the only client being used for Mania on PC.
And my eyes didn't lie to me; it was mixed. 50-74 is most likely that range. Being above 50% doesn't mean you're fucking "mostly positive"
Stop being a retard

Mania was OK, hoped for more OC levels rather than yet another game that's 70% remake and using previous assets too

As for forces…

Is like they took the sanic military meme and made a game around it

...

Sonic Team is known for being massive spergs, so they probably did. In fact i'm surprised they didn't add Sanic, Chris-Chan, and Coldsteel the Hedgeheg as real characters.

That would take a higher level of self-awareness

Whoever makes a sanic game they should get the guys behind the sonic boon cartoon (not the game tho that sucks) to do the story, dialog and cutscenes

That doesn't confirm anything, (you) retard. Name one authoritarian system that doesn't execute / imprison political dissidents.
Also, that link you provided is completely wrong on every level.
The first mascot design wasn't a hedgehog, and a hedgehog was chosen because it could attack while going fast. Eggman was always Eggman in Japan, he was just butchered by localization (see also the 'feminist' line in one of the manuals). The other points aren't even worth mentioning.
