originally worshiped ehekatl for the luck stat bonus, but I switched to kumiromi cause stamina regen is delicious

I stick with Ehekatl. Stamina is only really an issue if I do mass cooking or performing, Ehekatl's passive greatly reduces spell mp and stock costs on average (though it can increase them). I think it also does SP costs as well.

Well that's that about Stamina. I guess I can't just jump around an enemy like a madman with Shadowstep.
How about an alchemist kinda build? I want to cook up concoctions and melt enemies with it, but I haven't used Alchemy much yet so I don't know if that's possible. I know that there's molotov that can do fire damage though, and I guess throwing potions do damage according to Throwing and DEX?

It does come down to Ehekatl or Kumiromi. I can either have a luck boost and randomized costs, or I can have a stamina regen boost. Basically every other offering by every god is either too small to be useful, something I don't even need to begin with, or an active ability that I'm too lazy to use 99.99% of the time (looking at Lulwy's trick).

Based on Magic Device. You won't be able to craft enough potions to do that regularly.

If you feel the need to make a thrown item character though, look in the pot for fusion recipes. There are two reusable throwing bombs and two reusable throwing swords, both of which must be picked up where they land. All based on the alchemy skill for damage (when crafted).

Yes. But all they asked was "should I go" not "should I finish the main quest". If they CAN go, then that's already done.

As far as finishing the main quest, for both act 1 and act 2 there is an immediate 3 year time skip as soon as you are done (goes back to the same day/month). You can use this to your advantage with ranches in particular, because they will produce livestock and other products as if the entire 3 years passed in game.

Not magical items, armor items. You need scrolls of inferior, and for the item to become raw. If it buffs a stat, then when you eat it you'll gain potential from it, or just a stat-gain buff for a short while.

Yes, anything with "maintains attribute" will increase the potential of that attribute when eaten, and anything that adds an attribute bonus will train that attribute. To eat equipment it must be made of raw, which you can do by reading several Scrolls of Inferior Material at it.

However, it only trains those attributes by a relatively small amount. You would probably need half a dozen pair of shoes or more to train speed a single point. Meanwhile, all cooked food trains speed slightly and herbed food trains it a great deal.

You can eat them for sure. Only a few things give actual stat bonuses, though, otherwise it's just a general training thing based on the item. Meat trains strongth, fruit trains magic, but certain stuff like horses trains constitution, ogres for the same, hermit crabs and beetles for strongth, imps for magic, wraiths for will, stuff like that.

Just watch out for insanity from cannibalism and cook them.

Several different kinds of monster meat train specific attributes or add elemental resistances. Only specific kinds though. For attributes again it's not really the most effective way

I usually avoided them till around level 30 I think? Even then they're still a threat.
Only around 60-70 did I feel like I was really squashing them with ease.

Like someone said last thread, you can pickpocket a barbecue set in party time quests. They always spawn, you just have to clear the area of NPCs first because they will catch and stop you. Most NPCs in party time quests don't hurt your karma to kill, but watch out for Tourists.

I have no idea why you would want horses. You really shouldn't need charisma food (putits) because of how easy charisma is to train.

Also one I like much later in the game is a Manticore. Kind of a slow breeder, but 50% drop chance for a Duel Glove (always cursed, but that doesn't affect anything afaik). Throwing a duel glove at a target prevents you from losing any karma or relationship with that target, and causes them to drop all artifact items they are carrying. Useful for killing Big Daddies without the karma hit or killing other adventurers to steal all their shit at once without pissing them off.

You can make putit corpses into putitoros, though.

Not that I'm suggesting using him, but you can take pets to the Oblivion Palace and have their level reset down to 10 for free. Also reduces stats and INI.

Pascal has twice the breed power of Wing snail at base level, thanks to Beast having a base breed power of 920.

Machine hearts drop reasonably commonly. Just grind dungeons and you should find one eventually. What do you even need it for?

For comparison, I've had total 40 evolution hearts, 8 Another hearts, 9 God hearts, 3 King Hearts, and 3 Magic Hearts.

I don't know what you mean by "holy" knight. Golden Knight is pretty trash, the only unique thing she has is a high base carry weight.

Black Angel is one of the best pets in the game. When evolved it gains Lulwy's Trick. It has Boost by default, as well as Speed, and is the only thing in the game with all three. Ironically, a high level black angel is better used as a melee/martial arts pet, due to Boost's strength increase.

However, in my opinion the BEST pet in the game is the Defender. Lay Hands is a fucking godsend, and it starts with Healing Rain and Holy Shield. Both can be trained of course (Lay Hands is completely unique), but it's really nice to start with. I don't really know how good Absolute Protect is. I have it, but I can't figure out how it works exactly.

Blue one can be kinda sorta ok(if you don't use elona custom)
regular one seems pretty trashy to me.
Still, keep in mind that if you do use custom you can make it work easily with a nice custom AI and be sure to teach it stuff

Custom AI is pretty broken tough, if you feel the pets are too weak or dumb, this thing can make them murder machines for free.

Just use a pet you like dude, even if it's not the best or even among the the top half, it won't feel like a dead weight or a nuisance.
If you want good pets for the sake of them being good, clone the seminar mascot with an astral pen and have him carry you through most of the game.

You could do that, no problem.
But if your goal is to max a god then switch to another until you have every reward, note that there's a limit to how many god pets you can have linked to your Faith skill level, to get every pet, you need about 80 Faith.

It's there so you don't just autistically grind one thing, and instead fix that grind with presumably more interesting quests. Honestly you could just do trade runs, and when you sleep gain potential bit by bit for each skill.

Hard drives already take a few ms to spin to the right place but if you have an old hard drive or it's heavily loaded it can take quite some time, you can try redirecting the file to some flash storage device or a ramdisk.

Yeah. AFAIK it only happens to MIDI songs. Maybe the game renders the entire song at once, then rerenders it every time it loops. Try a custom mp3 soundtrack and see if that solves the problem.

It's a special feat that Leold can give to you once you make it to South Tyris.
It costs 1000 AP and makes it so that any damage you take while you have more than 1/3 MP is subtracted from MP instead of HP.
Obviously casters will have to be careful if they want to pick up this feat, but it can definitely save your ass.

Normally special equipment turns into stardust when you pick one up while already having one in your or your pets' inventories, but you may be able to do it through dojo shenanigans. That said I think Nightmare Knife is a throwing weapon, so I think it won't work well with melee.

3. It's now safe to pick up knife B.
4. Take pet out of the dojo, give them knife B.

Spells never miss as long as you can cast them so for really evasive enemies just flick a dart or beam at them

King of Palmia shows up as a random boss in The Void, so that's not an issue. Gwen the Innocent also shows up there as a boss.

The King also shows up in an area with all the other NPCs killed during the first act on Lost Irva, just in case you missed both the dying guys in Lesimas.

Is it better to invest in a whole lot of different shops, or just one shop? I'm trying to farm magic shops for potions of evolution and such.

After about 160 it's really hard to tell with most shops if investing does anything at all. There are a few rare item types that tend to only show up at even higher ranks, but otherwise there's little difference

What should I name my new zombie dragon friend? He enjoys walks in the woods, deep conversations about magic, and destroying large swathes of alive-things with deadly breath attacks.

Many shops (to around 200-300), with the exception of black markets which continue to get better item quality the more you dump into them.

I bought a shop and made one of my little girls the shopkeeper. Her charisma is good but her negotiation is hopeless. Will her negotiation get better over time? I checked her stats and she doesn't even seem to have the skill. I'm making hardly any money at all from it right now. I would buy a pet that is supposed to be a good shopkeeper but I only have room for two and I don't want to sell her.

Addendum: If you only have room for two, raising your charisma is easy, you just need a decent money base(I think 20k should do). Go to a cheap shop like food and Invest > Invest(50) and you'll see a nice charisma gain every time

I'm mixing Ragnarok and Tree of Savior, so if you only wanted the former you'll have to replace some things. She can, but you'd need to get the negotiation skill into her through gene engineering.
If you're interested you can get the gene engineering in palmia iirc, but to get a gene machine you gotta complete a quest in port kapul where you gotta capture 3 or 4 monsters(can be annoying without knockout feat but doable)

That's gonna be tough since I took the quest early on and lost the monster balls. I was dying constantly then and didn't realise I dropped them at some point. Is it difficult to get more? I don't think I have seen anyone who sells them.

General vendors have a (small) chance to have them. It becomes higher if you invest in them so you could kill two birds with one stone by throwing 20k at one.

I lost a bunch of pokeballs to death too. I was able to find some lvl 5 balls in shops, and I didn't really invest in any of them either. Just run back and forth between towns till you find some.

If you're good at finding medals you can drop around 10 at the dwarf workshop for a Rod of Domination when he has them in stock.

Seems some tracks are unused, but I may have missed where some play. Especially from cutscenes as they are a pandora's box of music not playing. This game is coded with spaghetti.

How to: In your Elona folder, replace user/music/musiclist.txt with the 7z version, there's no need to make a backup of this unless you want to save another custom soundtrack; a copy of the default musiclist is kept in Elona's original folder. You can just cram the mp3s in the sound folder, as while most of the midis are no longer required, the game still needs the wavs for sfx and whatnot.

any way to point out werewolf or is it just guessing who might be the one?

Sometimes their names will be something such as "Brad the werewolf" or say yes if you ask them about being a werewolf.

The only time I came across that whole scenario the werewolf in question had a "the werewolf" or something similar as a suffix to their name when I talked to them. I'm not sure if this is always the case or just coincidence.
Also talking to the detective that appears in town tells you randomly whether he thinks an NPC is or isn't a werewolf. Though I'm not sure how much they can be trusted with their conclusions.

Potion racks are a thing, don't think there's anything for rods though. There's also a rack for bread. Other than that you can store anything in 4-dimensional mirrors or use the spell if you can cast it.

I should also mention that food doesn't rot in the 4D mirror/spell.

Good question. I don't know.
I see them in shops fairly frequently and come across them in dungeons once in a while too. If that's not enough you can recharge them with scrolls of recharge, or like I said learn the spell instead.

There is a weight limit per item for putting things inside the pocket dimension. I think its 20s or 50s, not sure. I dont think that limit can be changed by leveling the spell nor using the mirrors.

Forgot to mention that the 4D mirror isn't affected by spell level, they're both individual.

4D mirror probably works off of Magic Device.

According to the wiki it has a set 50 item limit and 40s weight limit per item.

I'm doing a mostly melee character. I'm not sure if I should bother with magic device though.

You should at least learn the magic dart/magic arrow if you want to hit some really annoying critters like bats and hunger demons. I thought I could just archer my way but some enemies and melee them, even with all the bonuses to accuracy just won't add up.

Fire dragon child is pretty decent too. It has very high life and several evolutions. It makes for a good, tanky marital arts pet that you can get early and keep for a long time. Just add more arms to it and you are golden.
