Last time I played the jester was a mediocre party member which required a mobile team composition and some set-up to do what any other party member could do normally. Finale is way too satisfying to not use though

Solo, Finale, and Dirk Stab shuffle him around disrupting your party unless you built it to be shuffle-resistant, Solo is mostly useless if you don't have Finale because the debuff is fairly mediocre (Man-at-Arms can do basically the same thing with bellow, while also making them easier to hit)

Stoning isn't an ability for the Shieldbreaker. Instead, it's a stress removal mechanic that's only accessible from the new "Mosque" building which will be added with the class. You can only build a Mosque by choosing to "renovate" the church which will replace it with the new building. Other options for stress release in the Mosque will be "Pray To Mecca" and "Patrol For Infidels".

Taking risk may be rewarded, or you can actually be butchered by RNG, it's really hard to say. But yeah, if you want to minimize the chance of being stomped, prepare to grind for trinkets, XP and gold needed to making postive quirks permanent.
But the game is still "fun" to play, if you're into that kind of "fun".
