24 years wonder how much of that time was actually spend making the game

...

THIS
If we consider the time investment, that is hours spent actually working on the game, instead of counting years in development and also the ammount of people that worked on the game and were paid for it or are recieving a share of the profits, the game itself could very well be profitable despite the low sales number.

The game was doomed to fail since the moment they revealed the firsst gameplay trailer.

Does it really matter? The dev itself doesnt seem to care that much about it and it was his passion project.

It's more about how it was ironically shilled as a meme game, and way too many anons took the bait and were filling grimoire threads over and over with hype.

Then it's released and nobody actually bought it.

Because it's buggy and no one was sure how much of what Cleve said about the game was true. Give it a few years for him to patch it and we'll see if it is worth it.

And also because few people really, truly want to play a game from the 90s, with zero quality of life features and art from 500BC.
