The simplest solution is to recognize that we are not the target audience for these games. To use TV as an example, the mere existence of soap operas, sportsball, niggerbeats, etc probably doesn't enrage you, because you know that those shows aren't made for you, so you avoid them. You need to start treating vidya the same way. Initially it's going to be frustrating, since from ~94-04 we were the target audience, but we've had 13 years to adapt, so it's time to move on. The good news is that there's already a lifetime of good vidya out there, just waiting for you to play it, and you can continue to pick up the 1-3 good new releases a year.
