Retroarch is a piece of shit

I thought this thread was going to be shitting on retroarch for being a glorified file manager, or being poorly coded or some shit.

But your gripe is that it's hard to use? You don't even need to set keybinds, you literally just plug in the controller and play how fucking retarded are you that you can't even figure out retroarch.

...

retroarch is great but it also fucking sucks and is cancer

can't properly play smash 64 because you cannot fucking change the control scheme, only define which buttons on your gamepad correspond to that control scheme. You also can't leave some controls blank, and you also can't define additional controls such as macros or simply two buttons on your gamepad doing the same function/button for convenience

You just don't know how to use it

...

no you are fucking retarded I've already looked up how to change it online and the only solution are messing with core configuration and something else that only partially works (assigning two functions to the same button, not sure exactly what it was, had to do with c-stick modifier and jumping in smash) where you immediately had to let go of the button to attack while in the air

Thanks for your input.

also I've confused some terms a bit. To clarify I know that you can map two functions (from the emulator core control scheme) to the same retropad (which is the "virtual" retroarch gamepad used for all cores) button, but since the retropad itself only allows for specific buttons and isn't customizable, that means your actual gamepad may be left with unused buttons that you can't use, so on your actual gamepad you can't have two buttons pressing the same button on the retropad
