ill buy your game cleve haha wowie

I'm afraid my writing abilities would not be able to match Cleve's.

The hobknob was easy, the lich, not so much. So far that was my favorite dungeon.
so ive been in the deepsink project and managed to trial and error my way to finishing that dial puzzle. What did it do?

I was not prepared for him at the time, and he kept one shoting my magic dudes.

It's coming out on GOG eventually right? Even easier to pirate

I used a high level charm and spammed my staff of missiles.

PRESS F1

I have given a google drive link to 1.2.0.7, there is no Steam DRM in it to be bypassed. Or at least not for me.

I suspected that guy was pretty bonkers, but seeing really is believing. The strange part is that I find myself, despite everything, willing to believe in his fairy-tale history of mankind. His autistic ramblings exude a strange charm.

It activated the lever that opens the gate to the crusher

Too bad I don't particularly like blobbers. The man behind the game is a legend and needs support

It's funny that Sirotech was so butthurt at the guy they made him an ugly balding worm that's desperate for approval from authority, when hes actually totally the opposite.

One of my warriors has apparently got infected with some sort of sleeping ailment and won't wake up. I tried restoring his status by taking him to the sparkling pool in Shrine of the Raptor, but it doesn't seem to work.
I also tried using a spell that removes curses and that didn't work either.
I think he got it from some special bat encounter.

Beats me, usually when they sleep i simply sleep as well, there is a spell that wakes people up. Try that?

I'll have to look for it but I'll give it a shot.

It's something bells, but has resting not done anything? You might have to reload a save.

Oh I actually had Rosy learn that from a book I got for murdering the Librarian in the Crusader Temple.
Thanks I'll have to give it a shot in the morning.

I see that whole 20 years of coding really paid off.

Where have I heard that bullshit before?

I think he was still coding it in dos for a while and refused to change it. I still think it does alot of shit like not using an engine. I mean, every time a sound effect happens it actually changes the games volume on the volume mixer when i turn it to low. This shit goes directly through the os.

I'm fucking tired of seeing this shit meme game everywhere FUCK

This is not a shitty walking simulator so they won't.

Sir-Tech- dead.
Cleve and Grim Maw- alive
WHO'S LAUGHING NOW

Its a good meme game though.

Go whine to spic bo

I've had to put up with generals for games I didn't like, and continue to dislike and I'm doing just fine. So can you.

Cave of Spirits, got past the ghosties - what to do with the container of scrolls? Are those bones from the missing vanguard from Crowl?

Right click the Ivory Scrollcase, it's a container for scrolls. The bones are not the missing Vanguard expedition, they're just bones, the only purpose to that dungeon afaik is the Ivory Scrollcase and loot.

I really dont like how you cant access the scrollcase during battle, and how you need to take out a scroll to do anything with it.

precious inventory space = something i'm in dire need of.

Is this game good?

Yes. It was a pleasant surprise after I got my hands on it. Try the pirated version to find out if it is for you.

try before you buy.
if you dont like it, no problem.

Might seem obtuse if you never played classic rpgs or any game with a dated interface, check a look on this game.

I'll give you a hint as to where the bones you are looking for are. I OP am a faggot
Oh and if you have bones or other remains in your inventory you can revive them for more party members, doesn't seem to work on bone piles or crypt corpses though.

how bout dead rats?

:^)

Isn't Steam way worse about that?

Steam just doesn't give a fuck. GoG isn't a monopoly though so support them over Steam. Paying the dev directly is the best option though

Here's v1.2.0.15:

mega.nz/#!Y3QzRDZb!KgGnTBO5QjrNap6MgF-ZQ2HxbtSt_5bwxbD3mcj8Ezs

feels like the encounter rate is higher in the latest version. Before I could run around Briarpatch and occasionally get into a fight. Now it's pretty frequent (not not insane).

Honestly, after you get a few skills up and eventually hit your first level up the game becomes manageable. I'm loving it so far, I just wish the interface was less clunky and the fucking monsters didn't make so many stupid noises throughout the entire fight.

I heard that Cleve was going to lower their sound emitting frequency in some future update.
I think he's going to avoid big sweeping updates from now on and just do manageable ones instead.

I can on Wine.

I don't know about Wine on MAC but I know in Linux you can just swap workspaces.

That looks nothing like him.

what's the farthest any of you have actually gotten? This game is balls hard

Oh that's the catacombs in Crowl.

Socialist losers that infest the gaming industry are eternally butthurt when facing a superior human.

Got any facts to back that up?.webm

anything i should know before i clock in? i've played wizardry and the like before

have three meat shields in your party (snakes, giants, and dragons seem pretty good) a one-eyed dude with detect secret, a bard, and a wizard or two.

Also you want to recruit the fairy girl advertising for the magic cauldron in briarpatch so leave a slot open.

after that figure things out yourself. It's tough initially but gets a lot easier as you figure things out

Saurians, and Rhattus are also good. Since Saurians have a breath attack and Rhattus have a bite that gives disease.

...

This wreck is all I've been playing for a week straight now.

your loss

Just a heads up Mordecai will eventually try to rob you, but if you kill him without provocation then people get pissed off. So just say "fuck" at him and maximize his hostility, then he'll be really pissed attack you on his own.

but just in case, do all the things you need to do ahead of time.

What the hell do i do with this rail on the other side of the loogmar gate in the ukluk mining co?

Popamoler spotted.

Is this game remotely fun? Legitimate question.

depends on your tolerance for oldschool first person dungeon crawlers, user. Especially 20 year labours of love from neanderthal developers.

I love it so far.

Do you like wizardry 6 and 7? If no, you wont. Personally i love it but this is is super niche.

The light went out in my bathroom on sunday. I didn't get around to buying a new bulb until yesterday because I've been getting home from work as soon as possible to play this game. I had a dark bathroom for four days because this game has stolen what was left of my personal time and self respect.

nah, this is just a shill containment thread

But seriously, this chain in the ukluk mining co is stumping me way too hard.

It's fantastic.
I haven't had this sort of feeling playing a game since I was a little kid.

The best part is the fact that there isnt any guides so you have to figure shit out or actually talk to people.

Bards are crazy, got a paralysis harp early in the game and not a single boss has been an issue for me.

I beat Hobknob without even having to really cast any spells, and the lich was even easier.

Go visit the Quartermaster's room. And look hard.

A lot of normalfags seem to be pissed off about that, but having to actually talk to other people instead of consulting google to figure things out because no one knows what the fuck is going on makes it a vintage experience.

There are people who got lost trying to find Caius? How fucking retarded do ypu have to be?

They would come to the Bethesda forums complaining it was impossible to find him. These people have always been around. I remember threads kept popping up begging for unkillable npcs in tes 4 and anyone who posted that it was a shitty idea would get gaslighted as a sicko who will grow up to be a serial killer. Looking back, I wonder how many accounts there were on the forum just for the purpose of trying to browbeat away the less casual audience.

Now the linchpin keeps snapping and i have one but i cant figure out how to replace it on the chain.

Isnt caius that one npc in balmora, the first you are tasked to find? He is really easy to find provided you actually read the directions.

I can barely remember either to be perfectly honest. Would you recommend replaying those or giving this a chance? I had a glance over but it seems purposely up it's own ass over interface and even simple information.

Also is this more about finding characters to join you or making your full party from scratch?

You can recruit npcs but theyre so op they make the game boring. I would recommend replaying wiz 6 and 7 then pirating grimoire if you want more. Really, grimoire is basically just more wiz 7 with some more QOL changes and more spells.

Well, Wizardry has guides and shit for when you don't understand something. This game doesn't (yet) and almost requires some knowledge you generally get from having played other blobbers. So unless you really enjoy figuring out systems against incredible odds playing Wizardry first might be the better option.

Fuck im retarded, the linchpin goes on the harness, not on the chain.

Actually you can hover over things and a name appears it just takes seconds longer. If you understand wizardry then you'll understand the majority of this since it's a lot of things but with their names changed like DEStiny being Fate. If you have questions you can always ask here.

I could never get into wizardry because of how tedious the combat is, but I'm digging this game.

Grimoire allows you to mash the enter key to speed up combat, so its faster than wizardry.

Jesus. I was interested in this but I don't think I'm maverick enough to install a software from this neanderthal. I just don't trust this guy not to siphon all my dolphin porn.

It's more stable then you think, it's not like installing Winblows 95. Just don't take any saves in any pirated copies, some faggots have deliberately been trying to sabotage Cleve out of butthurt.

It's a bit too late for that but I didn't touch it since 2000s or so. Guess it's about time for another go.

Actually you don't know what tooltips are and are talking out of your ass. Master of Orion 2 which came out during the dos era had full support for shortcuts and the interface that's still both extremely approachable and convenient when you get your shit together. Something like the classic Koei strategies or say Reunion were much less functional but at least had a ton of soul. You can also draw a comparison with Arkania games which had the very autistic and very different to D&D dark eye system and still managed to avoid being obtuse.

This has forced loading time to simulate muh nostalgia, doesn't explain some building blocks on which the game is formed and is up it's own snobbish ass about it.

And I appreciate it but I'm no more keen on arbitrary spoonfeeding than I'm on deciphering what some codexfag envisioned while fellating himself.

Im not touching any non offical copies i havent copied from steam myself. This just sounds ripe for malware fuckery.

Why do you ascribe strange motivations being behind the intention of a design goals you don't like? You really think the game is trying to personally fuck with you? Sounds like chip on the shoulder syndrome.

Here is a screenshot of me randomly walking around Crowl to trigger an encounter, to prove to you I'm actually playing game you piece of shit. The tooltips are not helpful but they do appear it's just really arcane when they actually do. I only discovered tooltips actually exist purely by accident and so far I still don't know when the tooltips will or will not appear when the mouse hovers over them, unless you're saying hints only count then yes they do exist for your skills and spells.
The only thing that would be confusing is stuff like NAC and TAC
Only one loading time, the lag that crops up is a bug.

Press F1, and if you've played Wizardry you've already figured out half the game's inner workings.

What?

That's a pretty rad spido, haven't run across that yet.

I wonder if it's so obtuse for some they don't realize the game throws an OP recruit at you at the absolute beginning of the game. I had a bit of trouble figuring out how to dismiss someone even.

Go back to baiting socialists.

That a fact?

You've figured out how to use assay, right?

...

Sure, as long as you reflect on your behaviour and try to improve your communication skills.

Yes it is, it's well known from the super demo that things like opening gate animations and NPCs leaving will cause lag the biggest effect it has is on your mouse and this hasn't changed from the official release.

Of course I did, this however is about the tooltips from hovering your mouse. It only comes up for these UI buttons that tells you what it is that is remotely helpful, but it takes several seconds to come up. And the items only come up under specific conditions without clicking on them, in the same text.

NAC = natural armor class l
I think this is the armor class based on race. Faeries have a high NAC.
TAC = total armor class
This is the combined total of all 5 different AC types.
I think BAC is base armor class which i think is the armor class for a profession.
I cant remember the rest off the top of my head.

Sure, I was just wondering if you were having trouble finding actual information on items and such.

This guy.

All I have to say is it's nice to have a dungeon crawler I don't have to push through DOSbox and isn't fuckall boring as Grimrock. The Green Hand Gang is probably one of the best casual filters I've seen in years.

I wonder if they're an outsider or just that much of an autist.

How about you go fuck yourself? Not counting anything else It's not that hard to form a (negative) opinion when a game crashes some two dozen times in two hours or when it decides to slow to a crawl on changing areas, rooms or whatever..

Reminds me a bit of Serpent in the Staglands in that regard and the general muh oldschool authenticity jerk.

...

...

Well, shit. You mind sharing settings or something? I tried fucking around with windowed as opposed to fullscreen and it seemed more stable but I'm not sure it's worth straining my eyes for this.

...

default settings

Someone was murdered in the baths below the crusader temple, not sure how to progress there,
Argosyre, has anyone figured out how to get anything out of him? Gorlo is afraid to talk about him and he is immune to mindreading.

Also Magic Missle. Why cant my fucking mages get it?

I murdered Gorlo for the key to the catacombs. I couldn't figure out how to get it from him so I just put up a magic wall before combat then grinded him into the floor.

I should add that the key he drops doesn't progress you in they pool area, but opens the locked door on the top floor.

gorlo gives you the key if you just ask…
he also gives you 1k exp when you retrieve the book of the spider from the cenotaph

Fuck, well idk what to ask him.
I kept asking for a key and he kept telling me that a key was a good thing to have.

might have to mention "catacombs" first
there might also be a speech check,
the lock to the catacombs is pickable anyway.
In the catacombs you will also find the solution to the contraption in the museum of magic. be sure to "search" it to get all the info

That's going to come much later, so you can just move on for now.
*Gorlo (Village of Crowl)
- saint george
- catacombs
- key
- spider (note alternative for Tome of the Spider)
- yes *
- mistral
- bishop
- Esoph
- scandal
- book, tome
- goblet
- lich
- hobknob

There everything you need for Gorlo, the yes is when he asks you if you'll get the Tome.

thanks.

Thanks I'll have to keep this in mind for when I load back to pre-gorlo murder.

It's a charisma check, so he won't give you key unless you cast charm or you have a character with high diplomacy doing the talking. You can rob him, but if you ask him about the key/catacombs after doing so, he'll figure out you stole it and you'll lose disposition.

You can recruit a woman at the inn who is looking for her sister. Maybe it's related to that.

The skull you can get from the eerie wastes? I found a raise dead scroll and tried it, but no luck. Was hoping to rez a powerful wizard. Any ideas what it is for?

The Skull of Hathor Sogg? I believe that's for some ultimate weapon in the late game, but that's Cleve's word on that. Might be a different skull.

That's the one. I'll probably reroll and start at the shrine, or maybe the sanctuary start. Got terminal restart autism at the moment.

Things I learned:
Some races have natural attacks, claws and bites that do more damage. Disarm those characters and have them go hth. Vamphyr, Rattu and Naga bites have special effects, curse, disease and poison. Vamphyr is bugged in latest version though, so you give the order, but the attack doesn't fire. Shame, as the curse locked down whatever it hit. My Naga sage still out performs my barbarian in combat though.

Locate Object and Mind Read are your friend. Mind read highlights conversation topics npcs respond to, the more powerful, the less likely it is the npc can resist. Locate object highlights items on the map, not sure what increasing the power of the spell does. As a side effect it will show you hidden locations when it brings the map up. You can use divination on interactible objects like fountains to get their effects.

You can have a bard 'use' a musical instrument from the inventory instead of equipping it. So you can have the bard stab people they charmed instead of firing off music all the time.

Giants make better spellcasters than dark elves. Dwarves are better than everyone. They have fast mana regeneration, anyway.

So i found the hologram of the dwarf and got the parchment he gave men but i can figure out where the key to the underworld of samhain is.

Wolfen have the same mana regen rate as dorfs.

give the parchment to his son smithers

Locate Item\Wizard Eye\Danger Sense casted at maximum power reveal whole place for your automap, the same thing happens if you use items with the same effect, like Scrying Crystal or spell scrolls.
The Skull of Hathor Sogg is used later in the game to reach nice items, I believe. I've seen two pillars in different locations where, probably, I could've placed it if I had it.

What was the logic behind making recruitable npcs so much more powerful than the player-made characters?

Probably to give inexperienced players a way to progress in the game without being totally crushed at every turn. Although your characters can become as good as NPCs if not better if you stick with them. As of now I can see how my warriors will be able to kick way more ass than anyone else once their speed stat is high enough.
There are always easier ways out if you look really hard or plan a lot.
I know I'm going to do a no NPC run once I beat the game the first time.

I really don't see how when, at only level 2, Rosy is already 60 points above my scribe and scout in scribe and scout skills and when Raghilda has 70 CON at level one.

How do I get stuff from the bottom of Loch Lalain? I have fishing line with hook but when I use it nothing happens, searching only tells me there's something at the bottom.

If you take NPCs then sure they will stay consistently stronger because you are going to be leveling them. I already explained why they are stronger than your starting characters.
But taking them is entirely up to you.

Are bards still stupidly overpowered and have a max music level after a few hours of playing?

Don't know if it came with a new update or not, but bards seem to drain vitality much more quickly than the other classes.

So i use locate item on the floor with the crusher in the mines, and there is an item on the crusher tile that i cannot figure out how to get. What do i do? I think i need it to proceed.

Hand holding to get though early levels, or until you grind skills up. Some npcs have a retainer, which is the amount of gold they drain.

Also, some npcs are associated with quests, so a higher level group wont be as gimped by taking an npc along on their quest, if they have one.

Yes, the real balancing issue besides the 100 music is that everyone can use instruments.

Is there a way to see my NPC's retainer?

It's on the character sheet, below the kill count/ratio. Little Rosy has a retainer of 100 for me. She drains 100 gold a day. Not sure if that changes if you do her quest. Not sure if it increases as she levels up.

Shit, well how long is a day? I've had Rosy since close to the beginning and haven't seen my money drain at all.

I can't find the quote of Cleve to screencap. Not sure how many turns the day/night cycle is. If you sleep outside, you'll see the sky change colour and you seem to encounter different enemies at night (I could be imagining things), like glow moths, npcs will say "good morning, afternoon, evening" depending on time of day. The gold deduction is supposed to happen after resting. Not sure if implemented yet.

I don't really pay attention to gold as my rattu thief robs everyone and my barrower metalsmith sells the junk back. I have a jewish racket going on and more gold than I'll ever need (in Crowl, anyway).

Are you desperate for cash? Your inventory is going to bloat so quickly that you have to sell it. So far I only have like 2 extra inventory space extension items and only certain items go in them. 100 gold a day is nothing.

Yeah I have plenty of cash I'm just saying I never noticed any gold being drained.

How do I use detect secret properly?
What do I do when the eye flashes

look around

The power of the spell effects the duration, I think. When you see the eye flash, there is something in the square. Have someone search. If that does nothing, there could be a button on one of the walls. Vary rarely, one of the walls could be an illusion and you wont know until you try walking through it, or there could be some other puzzle or event in the area. Mostly it's just secret door buttons or objects you search for.

Oh.
Ooooooooh. Thanks a bunch

I need some help progressing
I've defeated the samhain horror
now i need to figure out what to do with the mechano egg
only place I can see to progress is the exemplar vault past the horror but I need a key, I'm assuming out of the egg?

Figured it out
have to put the egg back in the machine
then take the resulting item to the nest in the eyrie
use and wait

Am I supposed to put the dead rat on the pagan altar to get to hobknob? or is there a way i have not considered?

dead rat then use bane of hobnob

There is also a fake wall in the pit.

One more question, My Metalsmith got hit with some disease that causes paralysis as well as insanity and other negative conditions over time - having a real hard time getting rid of it, any clues?

Go to the shimmering pool in the Shrine of the Raptor and ut should clear up if you sleep in it long enough.

i'm past the lich - wouldn't that one also work?

Has anyone gotten Grimoire to work in Wine? It crashes for me after loading with

You can sleep off everything but the disease. Spam cure light condition to lower the other effects, eat apples. You can buy them from most of the vendors in Crowl. The cure disease spell will lower the disease bar if you spam that, comes online at Cleric 4, Bard 6 and I think Thaumaturge gets it as well.

Do you have galen apples?

Yeah, had apples and all that - however the disease was very powerful at keeping my metalsmith paralyzed (thus unable to eat apple) and even with rosy casting cure light conditions - just would not die down.. trip to the shrine of the raptor did the trick thankfully.

Maybe you can't lower other conditions while disease is up. I know I had another character use a potion on a paralyzed character before. Can't remember if I bought it or found it.

Tome of the spider - in Ukluk or back up the stairs?

Up the stairs.

where do I go to make that offering so I can descend into the temple baths?

Leave it to an autist to accurately program disease.
At what point does autist become artist?

Alright fellow autists, you've got me interested. My previous experience with these kinds of games is chiefly Grimrock with some dabbling in the old Wizardry games, but little else.
Is there anything I need to know before going in, or should I just embrace the 'tism and learn by feeling?

Make 6 PCs and leave 2 slots for RPCs they are super duper strong.

Some races fist weapons are really strong at the start better than items for a while.

????

Has anyone actually beaten it yet? Wonder just how crazy it gets.

I've seen people with close to 100 hours and so far none have claimed to have beaten it.

>Waylaid by half a dozen armed men and slaughtered to the last.
Well, glad to see this game isn't holding back. Time to build my party.

Recruit the shill if you are gonna fight the green manlets. Unless you clear out Raptor and Aquavia first, they will kick your ass.

Nonsense! I started in eerie wastes, which starts you off in Crowl, and fought my way through the greenskins to get to Aquavia at all!

The stroll through Crowl should toughen you up enough to fight the greenhands, but it you start in Shrine, it could be a struggle without Rosy in your party.
Also, anyone have a hint about descending down into the baths? I can't figure out "offering to the prelate."

There's an offering pot down there that asks for 5000 gp and unlocks the door when you donate it. You can go up and down the ladder just fine without angering anyone.

And for a minute there I thought people had made an all skeleton party.

Yeah finally figured that out after bribing argosyre 4K gold just to bring his demeanor up. Guess I'll be grinding for money for a little while. That note on the ground floor deterred me from even going down the ladder.

4k is a lot just to bribe. I'd have loaded a save… But, it's possible to make that much.

Argosyre is a useless NPC with nothing of value. Just exit whenever you see him. Also the door with the donation can be unlocked.

If I fuck up too bad I can just start a new party. Right now I'm just figuring out how to get into places. How to get Trimestes to tell me more about cenotaph and strangers?

...

Does that count as a Freudian slip?

Last paragraph was not too subtle

Finally beat the game.

Nice ride.

What about the 600 hours of content though

That's just your buyer's remorse talking.

Crowl alone can take you anywhere from 10-30 hours depending on how much you want to 100% the maps and look for secrets or bonus locations to explore and if you've already done the game before.

Beating the game and seeing all of the content are probably not the same thing, plus who knows how much time that user put into finishing it.

Buyers get updates that break saves, so it's more likely this user's a pirate who kept playing the same version.

Oh I'm sooo different from all of you who don't spew out a load of rambling fantasy tripe

It's funny how people who talk shit like this are much more often than not middling-to-low-tier communicators with most of their head firmly up their own asshole.

annnnd tumblr..

Lazy bastard.

etc tldr Why did I start reading this?

Yea I know that, but how do you determine how many hours the optional content takes and how much is there anyway. Is finding a secret button on the wall 1 hour? Just wondering how much a playthrough that rushes straight for the ending differs from one that "casually" plays through the game occasionally finding secrets and doing optional content and a playthrough that goes for all optional content.

I'm sure we won't know the answer to this for a while.

Good thing that anyone following this game has a lot of patience im waiting for the manual before I jump in

How long did that play through take you?

How do you feel about the fact that cuckchan completed it in 85 hours?

...

Why is the bottom cut off in these screenshots?

I don't know how long the user who beat it took each day unless he comes out and tells us, but it could be anywhere from 75-300 hours.

Okay, so that was within my guesstimate but did he really get all secrets? I once got an item by simply sleeping in the right spot and it never pinged on my secrets collection.

I think that is parts of the map that are hidden behind secret doors and shit. Not easter eggs or other surprises. There are multiple endings apparently, not sure how far you would have to back-track in order to trigger them.

If you get the thistle whistle at any point
Make your sage or bard spam the shit out of it. It's fucking amazing against bats and other echolocation using monsters.

Maybe if you weren't a fucking nigger you would have nephilim genes to activate in first place.
And I am talking about you. You have only (1) viewable post but I can already tell that your brain is on fluoride because you write like an fucking retard.

...

See you guys in 2540, hope neanderthal genes keep me alive till then

So this is just Skyrim but with worse graphics?

He said it himself, he only got that far so fast from cheesing the exploits and bad balancing in an older version, and I sure as hell know from firsthand experience that many areas would not go nearly as smoothly without those exploits and balance issues. Instant death wasps anyone? Or every boss encounter would immediately become very, very hard because Conditions are not so effective. And I suspect he might have turned off random encounters at some points, if you kept that on the RNG would slow your progress to a crawl.

No, no it is not Skyrim if it played like Ultima Underworld or Daggerfall then I could actually start to make comparisons but this is a standard turn based dungeon crawler.

What happens?

You're told it's the end of Act 1.

So they never went to balmora as instructed, never talked to an npc, and never checked all the buildings? I agree with, they would have to be retarded.

...

...

I read that Cleve had to cut certain content in order to release. No idea what the content actually is. Could just be mechanics like food/sanity. Might have been some extra maps or quests. Could be half-finished stuff from a decade ago that will take another decade to implement.

People have unpacked the game file which could open up basic mods in future. Basic shit like character portraits.

Aaaaalright that's Nephilim's creation but I wanted to know, do you ever unwind that clock in the center of the world? That's what the game start lore says, after all.

Lore says it's already unwound. I'm guessing you eventually wind it back up.

They would go to Balmora, but they wouldn't read the instructions in their inventory so they didn't know to ask around at South Wall. This was the console crowd that assumed they'd step off the silt strider and it would be a straight shot to Caius's house. They didn't understand how to play RPGs and Bethesda decided to just compensate them when they made Oblivion.

This is supposed to be act 1 or something.

kill me now

both of the pirated copies in this thread have threats detected on virustotal.

OY VEY, GOY IT'S FREE SHIT WHY ARE YOU COMPLAINING

Huh, here for comparison I got copies from different sources you can find two of them on 8/tg/'s thread.

Looks like someone really is deliberately distributing copies with malware in it, but it's weird only 2-3 ping as malware. But the filesizes are also different in their compresses state.

Cleve actually talked about this. Someone sent him a save file with a virus on it also.
They aren't just targetting Cleve,0 but anyone who is even interested in playing his gane.

Right well, the compression of the virus copies are actually different from my none virus pinging versions most likely to hide the change in filesize. Since I dodged the bullet I'm not testing my luck and just going to delete the two I just downloaded from this thread off my PC since I already did a virus scan and leave the two I have tucked away somewhere when i'm done with em'.

what am i supposed to pirate if all of these links are malware

Not part of this thread, nor do I care about anything in it. Just wanted to say "FALSE POSITIVES." AVs aren't perfect. Don't pay attention to that unless at least 10 or so detect something.

Common sense guys

...

You have absolutely none, the lensman arms race between malware and anti-virus programs makes it so a false positive means you have to check it yourself. Personally. Combing through the suspect copy with a legitimate copy to compare and contrast metadata and the like, and using at least 5 separate anti-virus scans on a USB in safemode. Once you find it, because of how utterly thorough these viruses have become, the only safe solution is to reformat your hard drive. If you detect a virus and your anti-virus got rid of it so easily it simply means that virus became obsolete, and wasn't being maintained or updated for whatever reason.

And yes, something as simple as a change in file size and nothing else discernible in the difference between two programs is one of the number one hints that there is an infection.

The >>>/tg/ ones are the safest bet, if you don't mind an old copy, scan it yourself on a disposable labtop or something with virustotal and other antivirus programs.

Are the steam versions safe? Im assuming steam checks updates for viruses too.

All of them are the steam versions. If you mean directly from steam and no 3rd parties I'd assume so.

Guess the next thread will just be a "anything Dungeon Crawler" general.

Might as well. I'm thinking about trying Bard's Tale again after this playthrough of Grimoire.

should i play wizardry 7 before this? the closest game i've played to Grimoire is Shining in the Darkness, so I dunno if I'll "get" the whole spirit of Grimoire if I jump straight into it.

You could, though i find wiz 7 to be VERY hard to roll good characters.

Pretty much any dungeon crawler will work for the most part, at the very least you'll know if you even like dungeon crawlers.

You could play some Eye of the Beholder, or just Grimrock. I'd suggest playing Grimrock first to get an idea of these games and then delving back. Much like with tactical video games.

I'd start with wizardry 6 and import characters to 7 and then 8.

I will never be not angry because of this.

Yeah melee guys are pretty much fucked, just have them play instruments and have your spellcasters one shot everything.

Has anyone found a use for Common Gate Keys and Locksmith's Keys?

wtf is the point of that axe then? Is it a bug?

no clue, what are the Perk keys for too?

Don't know about common gate keys but I think the locksmith's key is like a very weak "knock knock" spell. Basically useless.

In Samhain there is a mausoleum, there are eight perk chests there, 7 have items while 1 has a joke in it.

You should report this to Cleve on the steam forum. Unless you are using a pirated version obviolously.

Melee characters become fantastic later on if you spec them properly and keep them alive.

Is grimoire still played here?

Yes, just most discussion has died down.
I suspect it will come back once the manual is released.

We were talking because we were fumbling around trying to figure out the basics without a manual. Plus, 90% of the early threads were shitposting goons and countershitposting against shitposting goons. By this point, the goons have moved on to Charlottesville shitposting, and everyone else is just playing or has beaten it.

the TRSodomite who made that meme literally was a Faggot who fucked a 15 year old boy.
lol

(checked)
At least he didn't have shit taste in video games.

...

Is the stun rod supposed to look like a dildo?

Oh thank god, since its printed out hopefully it means the whole thing is coming soon.

Look at the date.

That's just a copyright date.

Meaning it's a manual he had copyrighted in 1995. Meaning it's out of date and not the one he will be releasing. Who knows how much of what's in the picture is still true.

The 'tags' on some weapons are fucked up. Some weapons don't interact with skills properly, others are missing their attacks. You can't berserk with some weapons, for example. Lethal blow wont work. Unarmed attacks for some races are borked. You give the order, but no attack fires. This happens for Vamphyre and Giant, as well as a couple of off hand weapons.

They used to work, but got broken in a patch somehow. I assume that axe is in the same category. I remember my vamp being able to bite people and one of my characters had a buckler they could bash with. This was a day or two after release. Now, I can give those characters orders, but the attacks wont fire.

Finished it. All these 3 endings are basically the same thing, except done in different ways, and in the golden saucer one player has to send the Clock of Fate back to Reality Hijinx. Didn't even bother getting back to Zyrinx or Nebulon through all these autistic screechers, ayyliens and robots to check if something different happens. Played back-to-back on Master difficulty. I didn't even get to level 10, thanks to retarded exp gains and requirements.

OH GOD THIS GAME IS ACTUALLY RELEASED
ECLIPSE IS COMING
APOCALYPSE SOON!

Are weeagoons still butthurt about this game

...

I'd be surprised if they even remember it.

Music is pretty powerful.
I've thorn whistled shit to death all the way through to the eyrie.

I don't know if I can agree with that. Strength should be more like -30%, and I don't know if I would agree with females getting a fellowship bonus at all unless it's dealing with the opposite gender only. Women tend to be very combative and bitchy towards one another not to mention downright emotionally driven so that they could easily react negatively towards something neutral, and I don't see there being a 30% bonus. I know, it's a balance thing, but let's be realistic here.

I could see giving female characters a 15% devotion bonus, though.

Well, before all else it is a DnD game. And the DnD crowd always worshiped women.

So why are you given this cucked piece of poz your attention? Saged and reported for shill femshit.

Youre either with it or against it you cant have it both ways

First of all, you forgot to sage.
