How do you guys reconcile your waifu giving her love to you, Gudao, but also loving the MCs of other games? It just gives me pause to think that servants just get lovey dovey with whoever their current master is, so they're basically slutting out through the times.

Pic related, in universe, all the heroes that are cool enough cats to become heroic spirits get themselvse stored in the "Throne of heroes" anytime they are summoned anywhere and in any fashion, they are just a copy and paste of that original copy that never leaves the throne.
The only known exception to this is Arturia who time travels because bullshits and Tamamo who is sending fragments of herself as servants because she's a deity.

In other words, each servant you summon is "your own copy" and his not been soiled by being summoned by anyone else. Of course, if your waifu wasn't chaste before being a heroic spirit, this of course kind of causes trouble with purity if that's important.

Don't servants have some knowledge of modern tech and culture when they're summoned? They're people from ancient times who have no problems with cars and electricity and all that jazz.

Jeanne also knows what happens to Gilles despite him becoming Bluebeard after she dies. Doesn't that mean that she's been summoned and filled in at some point?

The throne of heroes (or maybe it was the holy grail, I don't recall correctly) updates them on current times when they are summoned.

Knowledge required for current era =/= memory from past experiences.
Servants got summoned with knowledge for the current era directly into their head and some general history to go with it as well. After all, an Assassin who didn't understand the concept of cameras, or a caster who spent time amazed at electricity would not be useful. This is explained in Side Material as something that allows servants to function whenever they are summoned as sometimes it is the counter-force/force summoning them and they need to be useful when they are there.

As for past experiences, it is true that a record kept in the throne of heroes is updated with everything a servants copies running around do. Theoretically, a servant can read up on what they did but because the Throne is completely off the time axis and thus "all time is happening at once".

What about the case where Caster Cu is summoned in FGO and he clearly recognizes and remembers the MC? Or is that handwaved away by the messed up situation in FGO?

I really didn't take those seriously, especially after Kiyohime promised to "follow you to the ends of the earth" and it's played for laughs when she shows up at the chaldea gate. I think it's one of those times when the game mechanics overides the canon in world mechanics.

Best 4star you can get is probably emiya or herakles, as far as 5stars go Weaver is probably the best one in the long run. Considering that rerolling takes so long every time, I would just stop once I get a 5 star that I don't hate.

You should try getting at least 2 4* servants. Go for Emiya, Heracles or whoever you like. I think you dont get 5* in your first roll.
I rerolled like 12 times till I get 3 4* servants.
Then you should look for strong supports(high lvl masters to add you in their friend lists).

There are two options for you, are you a tryhardfag? Or a waifufag? If you're the first, reset until you get Waver, he will be the best 5 star and probably best servant in the game period until Merlin is released. The very first tutorial roll you do does not allow you to get a 5 star, however, it does guarantee at least 4 star servant, which is much better than any other gacha you will go into. After that, you should be able to roll for waver. If you are not a tryhard. Try to get either Heracles or EMIYA from the tutorial roll as they are solid enough to get you through the main game content without worrying too much about how strong your waifus are.

After getting your desired servants, you need to try and do the daily quests called "ember gathering" as soon as possible under Chaldea gate. In this game, you have "AP" or action points, which means you only get to do x number of things a day. However, your ap gauage fills up when your master level fills. The 40 AP daily quests give so much experience it will cause a feedback loop allowing you to grind to roughly level 50. You want to get your level higher as you also raise your AP limit by 1 each time. As for anything else, pic related.

If you are not friends with them, they will get 10 points for each use. Do that 200 times, that's a free 10 friend point summon. If you are friends. they get 25 per a use, do that 80 times, they get a free friend point summon.

Pick Single Target NPs for bosses, AoE for waves. If youre stumped levelwise for a story bit then farm on hands until you cant anymore.

Also, if you roll with an SSR keep it because even the absolute shittiest of SSR(pic related in JP so far) are better than most if not all 3* and some shitter 4*s like Saber Lily

Ehhhhhhhhhhh, they're only better in the way early game because of stat difference due to level caps will completely blow any bronze of silver servant the fuck out. However come mid game, even the SSR that are shit will fall behind the likes of Cu and Mashu with proper ascension.

Gilgamesh basically stole the wish in Zero at the last possible second to give himself a physical body, so he wouldn't fade away. Because of Angra's corruption though he was supposed to be driven insane by it, but fuck you he's Gilgamesh, his ego's too big for him go insane.

Also, Gil's Independent Action means that he can last for like a week without mana support from anyone and he can just kill people & animals to regain mana.

Does anyone else find Emiya boring? His NP animation is painfully long. Even though he is "safe" and I have him at a good level I am thinking of leveling Atlanta more becuse her crits make her more fun.

he is actually a very weird character to use. he is an but he has 3 blue cards and 1 red and 1 green and his NP is red with a skill that gives him crit star creation rate and a skill that buffs blue cards.

Use Saber Lily, she's almost Bronze. I shouldn't have leveled her and her voice pisses me off.

His skill set revolves around building for his UBW NP; I don't bother with trying to build and use his stars.

I find his NP shines more when I match him with other ssustainable arts heroes that have Buster NPs like Saint Martha.

Supports for my american and my Jap alt account if your into that.

I would recommend leveling up Robin hood if you want a fun archer. The damage his NP can cause is fucking insane for a 3 star and the animation is fairly fast. From my understanding Emiya gets a lot more fun when his strengthening quests arrive.

I regret putting so much effort into her. Her np is absolutely pathetic and her skills are shit.

How much you need to grind depends on the servant's personality. Hercules is actually one of the fastest to bond with since he is a fucking bro despite being mad. Anderson on the other hand is a shitposter who hates everyone so he takes forever to bond. These rules get thrown out the window after level 5 though since everyone just take an entirety to bond after that.

One thing i'll give this game credit for is it's the first Japanese game i've played where the guy built like a brick shithouse is hands down the strongest guy on my team. Anyways is it worth trying to roll for Jeanne or should i save my quartz for some future event.

With Angra you can get some pretty memey combinations with Scapegoat and guts. And his quick card boost may be worth the 5 turns anyway considering he'll probably die before the timer.

I would say battle continuation. With the protection against arrows, the evade doesn't increase, just the defense raise. Problem is, plenty of times, the defense raise runs out before the evasion does making it worth it. Meanwhile guts heal increases by 500 each time.

No, Saint Quartz only. Just use them whenever or save them up until a rate up event for a servant you like comes.

I like the three knights.

He's a jack-of-all-trades in a game where you generally do want a niche specialist. He can tank with Mind's Eye(True) but not as well as most other tanks. He can be a burst critgen but, don't expect more than 20 stars unless you're pulling off an UBW brave chain. He can build up NP with his three arts cards, but his NP rates aren't all that spectacular though his Magecraft does offset it a little since its Effectiveness Up(which means that all aspects, including both damage and NP are boosted) and finally with UBW he can take out enemies with high defense.

He's really not perfect for anything, but he fits into any team and he's still relatively decent. One thing to note, is that Hawkeye and Projection will make him crazy. He already crits like a motherfucker, but throw in even a 50% base boost from basic Hawkeye and his utility in burst goes through the roof.

That's probably what annoys me the most about the fate franchise

Just give me a damn ARPG where you both control the servants ans can choose shit as a master story-wise, preferably allowing you to play as each of the different masters, heck even just anime that has different servants fighting, it only needs a mediocre story at best since it's the servants people mostly care about not the story

Him and Weaver won't be fighting over the same ascension or skill materials. at least not a lot. If you're talking about exp that's one of the easiest things to grind for in this game thanks to Dailies. So go crazy on Herc if you want to play the game on easy.

Don't give a shit about class specific exp cards. The boost is nice and while exp cards in general are easy to grind for, grinding for class specific ones is a bit more annoying and really isn't worth the effort whatsoever. If you have it, sure, go for it, if not, don't bother. Dump exp into your most useful heroes first and disregard class specifics.

Yeah the amount of welfares the game throws at you I can't guarantee you'll be finishing any extra game content but it should be easy to finish the main campaign. So really the game is just getting your waifu and bonding with her.

Are you guys sure that Waver Velvet is the best Servant in the game? I'm trying a rented shirtless Gilgamesh and holy FUCK he is assraping everything. When do you guys expect him to be available again?

The thing about Waver is that he can take Gilgamesh and make him crit harder. He can also take someone like Astolfo and supply him with NP. He can take berserkers like Asterios and give them enough defense to survive shit. Waver is among the best in the game because he can further boost strong units or enable weaker unit.

Gil is strong, especially so against enemy servants, but a decent lancer will kill him just fine and he's rather lacking against non-servant enemies. You also need to find the right support for him to make the most out of Gil's strong points such as a crit buffer or star supplier. For Waver, you only need him to survive to keep using skills and he otherwise doesn't care who he's supporting. Hell, you probably won't even care if you send him against Riders too. He's called the overworked salary man for a reason.

Anyways, Gil comes back around New Years and then later around April after Jeanne Alter. He gets released fairly frequently, more so than other limiteds at any rate.

A thing you should be aware of is that team compensation may not matter now, but later in game, when enemies literally have a million hp just to say fuck you, team comp will fucking matter. And Waver is the best enabler in the entire game with generic defense boosts, generic attack boosts, crit boosts and the ability to give anyone he fucking wants 50% of their NP gauge at anytime. Right now everything is low enough that even final bosses in singularities can still be taken down by an effective NP, and all that really matters is having servants that aren't weak to the enemy ones, but other than that, we have just started.

Canonically no, Gilgamesh's alignment is even recorded as Chaotic Good. This is opposed to the canon alignment of Heracles which is a unique "chaotic mad" or "mad" for other Berserkers. The canon explanation for why the grail didn't corrupt him is his ego is too big.

If they're still servants they are still spirits so just summoning a servant no they can not, however actually wishing for a servant to be with you should give them a physical body theoretically if Avenger isn't fucking with the grail system like in Fate/Zero.

Her first one is shit, her second is the only Noble Phantasm debuff I've seen so far and that makes it useful when you can predict the enemy, and her lost one is pretty good at higher levels once it becomes a near guaranteed stun. As said, her noble phantasm is a liability until the upgrade. Jeanne most redeeming feature is the fact she has the highest hp maximum in the entire game. Period. And she takes reduced damage from everything but Berserker and Avenger, and neutral damage from Alter ego and Shielder but those are rare as fuck So he becomes one of the best tanks in the entire game.

Most of your ascension material farming will be done at events, if you're getting frustrated in the daily quest expecting anything grand when on average it takes 1119.8 AP spent on the Adv monster hunt to get one reverse scale.

Arash doesn't get a third skill until strengthening quests are out and his gets released. Some other servants also don't get third skills until their strengthenings like Lancelot.

As per the statistics here the 20 ap quest is the best for dragon fangs while the 10 ap one is 4th best so I don't think you should spend time on that as much but your call. It's much better to grind Thiers in Orleans for Dragon fangs and you can do that any day of the week.

I didn't check the drop guide and figured that with all the wyverns and dragon tooth warriors in the 10ap, it would be good enough. I also forgot that's not how it works since the drop rates differ enough for quantity to not matter.

I did farm on Thiers before but gave up when 3 days of non-stop grinding before Nerofes got me a grand total of two fangs because RNG decided I have it too good in JP so I need to suffer in NA. Well fuck it, I may as well farm snake jewels and golem crystals while I'm at it.

The nip release was Nov 5 for Okeanos, of course the nip version originally started in July while US started in June so it might possibly maybe get things shifted by a month but I couldn't be definite.

Jeanne is a shit crit star generator is your main problem. Revelation is not good in anyway and her star generation is average.

Because as was said here she does not get good until end game. After her noble phantasm is buffed. After that, she has one of the best defensive noble phantasms, before that, she is dead weight. Her third skill is great at level 10 as stuns are always nice. First skill is the most awful. Again, what makes Jeanne good, is her highest hp stat in the game and neutral damage taken from almost every class, making her a really fucking good tank.

Also you're incorrect about how Jeanne's first one works, it just pools them it doesn't force them on her but she may have the highest gather rate which will hurt a crit strat.

It'd work well for Zerkers though, that need those stars. Especially ones like Lance that in order to really thrive needs crits or NP

Yes, however you need to understand how gather rate works, basically, each team member has a hidden "star gather rate". In the case of your proposed team. Gilgamesh has a rate of 153, Jeanne has 99 and Hans has 48. If you add all these numbers together you get the entire pie chart for your team, and that total is a nice 300. Then, the likelihood of one star, going to any of that particular servants attacks, is equal to their share of the pie. With no alterations Gilgamesh will get on average 51% of the stars, Jeanne will get 33% and Hans will get 16% of the generated stars. This means, with Jeanne's revelation. On average, Gilgamesh will get 2 stars, Jeanne will get 1 or 2 and Hans is unlikely to get 1 but it's reasonably possible. This of course assumes you didn't generate any stars with your attacks but we don't care about that.

Jeanne's skill in this case gives Gilgamesh on average a roughly 20% chance to crit each turn, which is pretty shitty by itself. However, if we activate Gilgamesh's third skill at level 1 it increases his star weight three-fold. Making his weight 459, and assuming Jeanne and Hans are still on the same team, the total becomes 606. Gilgamesh now has a chance to get the critical stars 75.7% of the time, Jeanne gets them 16.3% of the time. and 7.9% of the time roughly. With Jeanne's first skill. Gil gets on average 3 stars a turn from revelation, and the other two fight over the last one. Problem with Jeanne, she only has one quick and while she has a 10% star generation rate, she gets shit on by Assassins. If you don't understand how star generation works normally, well, that will have to be another post.

Complete and total waste and really doesn't work. Berserkers have the lowest natural star gather weight in the game, Lancelot Berserker has a weight of fucking 10, compare to his Saber variant which gets a weight of 100, or a Saint George that has a weight of 204. Berserkers almost never get the stars and if they do it's like one. Generating stars will usually have them go to anyone but Berserker at least most of the time. The only exceptions to this are Lancelot when he's used his arms master skill, which changes his gather rate from 10 to 300 at level 1 (but that only lasts 3 turns) and Raikou who has a gather rate of 9 but goes up to 270 at level 1 (and only lasts 3 turns). Crit zerkers a fucking meme and unreliable as hell.
To also note, when Lancelot Saber uses arms mastery, his gather weight goes from 100 to 3000. In almost any line up 90% of the stars will go to him upon use.

Well yeah, that's not what I'm saying, I'm saying if Jeanne can gather crit stars into herself at an extremely high rate, it'd supplement well with Berserkers that kinda need that crit in order to do real damage like Lance. Lance by himself needs either an NP buffer so he can rapid fire his NP to get stars, or he needs to be backed up by a good crit gatherer

Buster Crit memes are actually good if you have a way of generating enough stars, and really making them count. The current meta on the NA release does not support that, because there isn't really any star generators good enough for it. There's also the issue of survivability.

With JP, on the other hand, you have characters like Cu Alter with his Protection From Arrows, Jack the Ripper who can shit out 50 stars with a single quick chain, and Merlin whose buffs can make buster crits that do more damage than some NPs.

Start with Fate/Stay Night and read all the routes, then watch Fate/Zero (Zero is a prequel to Stay Night and spoils a lot of things for SN, mainly the shit that happens in Heaven's Feel). From there you can go pretty much anywhere you want. If you want to see the SN characters in a SoL setting then you can read Hollow Ataraxia.

Fate/Extra and its sequels take place in a different universe from SN and the other entries, so you could just jump straight to that if you want. It has a few things about the grail war and references that you won't understand that much if you haven't read SN, however. Grand Order is also pretty standalone so far, but you'll appreciate it more if you're familiar with the franchise.

There isn't a strict need but FGO does occasionally reference other works. Fate/Extra in particular gets a few mentions here and there and it helps to get to know the basic plot that ties into the eventual CCC collaboration that JP recently had. It's one of the best written events too in my opinion. Too bad Fate/Extra CCC itself never got a release and the translation project may as well be dead for all the progress they've made.

Playing Extella also helps you to get to know Altera's circumstances better since it's basically her game but FGO barely even bothers to cover that side of Altera's personal story.

Did you completely forget the plot point that Caster basically fucked off about caring about the war once he saw Arturia and "his wish had been fulfilled"? The sheer effort it would take to hide that would require the entire Clock Tower to mobilize, but the clean up effort is summarized as "I(Kotomine) told the government to shut up and bought them a pair of jets from the middle east".

The difference is that there was plausibility involved in FSN. For your examples,

There weren't eyewitnesses or at least not ones that could be trusted, and while the JIDF were investigating they never got eyes on the target as the fighter jets pilots died before stating what they saw. It was a plot point that one pilot went way too fucking low and get himself killed by Cthulhu because he couldn't see the damn thing, other pilot died soon after. As for other witnesses, again fog/mist was incredibly heavy and at best people could see a "vague shape" of Cthulhu. In an era where there weren't any cell phones there was probably very little recordings of it and thus everyone can just hand wave it as people seeing things in the mist.
This is pretty weak but I see it as more of a "stop investigating what happened" as opposed to "nothing happened *jedi hand wave*". It's also hard in this world to summarize how deeply the church/magus association has it's dick firmly implanted various government's asses. The Excalibur burst is also something that happens repeatedly in Fate/Stay Night but again it's one of those things that can either be hand waved with some "terrorist activities" like with the tower, or not enough people reliably saw it to spawn anything but a rumor.

As for the Assassins to go for. Cursed Arm is good if you want a discount crit generator. His third skill is fucking amazing for a bronze servant. He will do a good job until you get someone like Jack the Ripper or ninja boy.

Carmilla is probably the best Assassin on the server right now beacause Jack isn't out yet. Easy NP gauge filling is nice.

She's the best Assassin but she's still shit compared to some of the character's out right now.
It also doesn't help that the current meta in the NA server is "kill anything before it can even damage you" and bosses don't have a million HP yet.

Is Fate/Extra any good?
I'm still playing F/SN and I'd really like a good, proper game with the setting and Illya, but I'll live if she's not present.

Gameplay is extremely simplistic, though it does have an element of skill involved. Random battles are kind of boring(and rage inducing if you happen to die in a dungeon and have to star the day over) but the boss battles tend to be really fun.

The story is pretty good(as an admitted Fatefag, my opinion is of course entirely compromised), but really needs you to like one of the main three to be fully enjoyed. Personally I've played it thrice(Archer, Tamamo and Archer) and it gets easier with subsequent playthroughs as you get to keep the enemy data which removes a lot of the danger involved in dungeons. Also, Archer has the meme levels of damage if you know how to use Alteration of the Soul right. This was of course removed in CCC, because fuck everything.

If you want more Illya, I really would recommend Fate/Hollow Ataraxia. Oh, and Carnival Phantasm, of course. Everybody should watch Carnival Phantasm.

Is it just me, or is the Fate/Extella craft essence somehow really, really good? I mean, on paper "15% more crit damage and gain 3 stars, with 100/100 HP/STR" sounds like shit, but I stuck it one EMIYA and he just keeps critting fucking everything.

Those three stars really somehow make a difference to giving him those crits and then it just snowballs and he buzzsaws through an entire healthbar as his own NP maxes out. I wanted to try it out as an alternative to Projection to see if I should try and get 4th Limit Broken Moonlight Festival(20% crit damage and star generation with 1500/1000 HP/STR) but I've noticed that star gen uppers don't seem to be quite this broken.

Also, got level 60 Cu for Orion along with a Heracles and a Vlad III, do I need anything else? How about the event boosts, who gets better drop rates? I have EMIYA and he should be good if he gets nice boosts.

It's pretty good, yeah. There's another one later on called Hot Spring of the Moon that gives the same values but can actually be limit broken to 20% crit damage and 4 stars per turn. I like pairing it with Fragments of 2030 for plenty of free stars per turn. Star Gen up CEs are only good on servants who already have good star gen and plenty of quick cards, but there are few star generators who are good enough to be better than just running a bunch of stars per turn CEs alongside similar servants like Hans with his third skill. Moonlight Festival is nice but not great by any stretch in my opinion other than maybe on servants like Gilgamesh.

Regend is pretty good but if you already have Carmilla then you don't actually need him outside of personal preference.

Just farm the 30ap Duel with the Three Knights on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

This is also a possibility but that would mean that the scanners don't like Medea or lily Medea either.

You can get them from one of the nodes in Fuyuki, but you're better off getting them from the 5 AP quest of the Moon Goddess event, which is the best source of dango/dumplings anyways.

The only part that you CANNOT do in the event is Rider Gems. Caster Gems will probably take a long time, but you'll be farming foreign god hearts in the process.

Caster Gems are in the Friday daily, which is after the event starts. Best rate of getting them there is the 30 AP Friday, which has slightly less than a 50% chance of giving a gem.

Either way, it's probably best to get the Caster Gems from the 30 AP Moon Goddess quest, since you'll need a fuck ton of hearts for tons of Servants, and it will be a super long time until we get a decent place to farm those.

There's a story event quest for 5 AP that has you fight a level 33 Orion that's guaranteed to drop 25 dangos, 30 dangos, or an event CE. Nothing else comes close to how efficient this quest is.

oh i see it now. thats a fucking steal but you need 200 dango first. the CE doesnt have higher drop percent so it is always the same. you need 2 to limit break it and 3 in the shop. it is worth it to farm this CE because it is good

Yes
If you get the guaranteed CE drop from EP0 quest. The 5 AP quest jumps from .675 Dango per AP to .95 AP. This climbs higher from there onward.
You would be depending on RNG to give you a CE to enhance your farming instead of actually farming so it's not worth it just for Dango drops because even if you DO get the CEs they will be better used when you're grinding the 5 AP quest.

This of course assumes the story specific quests are non repeatable, which I simply don't know.

I'm asking whether the Moonlight Fest CE is worth limit breaking. You can only get 3 of them from the event store so you'd have to get 2 from random drops (I'm assuming the drop rate is better in the high AP quests).

It's in the FP gacha, or rather it wasn't before but it is now. Already confirmed it myself but you'll need to have a lot of FP saved up or else be really lucky for it to show up.

So the path for this event is to stuff as many farming CEs as I can onto my party, then pick a support who also has a farming CE and farm nothing but the 5AP quest all day yeah?

Now you have a choice here, do you want to get all the CEs? Which is slightly risky time wise, or do you just want to clean out shop for everything else? If you're going for all CEs then shop. You farm 2000 for the next CE, then 5000 for the next CE and hope you get enough after that to not spend Golden Apples on your AP gauge to clean out shop. If you don't want to do that, just getting the first Moonlight Festival from the shop is enough to make sure you get all the dumplings you need for everything else but the CEs.

I've already bought the 500 CE, and that as well as a random ticket draw that snagged me another CE lets me get 1 + 9 per run. I'll probably just get the CEs and all the gold pieces if anything.

Nah, it's just that there are plot inconsistencies and stuff that doesn't match what we we're told in FSN. So they handwave it with "it was a parallel world, it's roughly the same but details might not match up", and this is despite having Nasu working on script and proofreading it. There's just too many small details, but Fatefags love their meaningless trivia.

Fate/Zero was Urobuchi's love letter to Fate, as it was the thing that got him over a long standing writer's block. I think it was in one of the novel's afterwords he recounts how he would be healed and motivated to keep writing Fate/Zero every time he looked up to see his swimsuit Saber figurine smiling down at him.

About Zero, Nasu worked alongside Uro pretty much the whole time, pulling Uro back at times. Iirc Sakura was to be a whole lot darker if Uro had had his way.

And about DEEN, you should add the caveat that it has some of the best music. Kenji Kawai is a fucking legend and the 2006 anime still has one of the strongest moods. Also, while Shirou is handled terribly and the fights are lackluster, the Slice of Life is top tier.

You should keep in the parts where you say the games are shit. People who go into extella and FGO need to know how bad they are.

Also, since it is pretty fuckhueg, maybe make the titles a bit bigger for each section, so that when you have it zoomed out to see the whole thing to get an overview, you can read all the sections without having to squint or zoom in. Would help with keeping track of what is what.

Got second Moonlight Festival CE and managed to get 10 Archer Monuments; EMIYA is now max ascended. No luck with getting any more fucking hearts from the daemon for Heracles. Seems like there's some kind of hard cap on mat drops or something; got first two easily enough with no other drops, but since have gotten 4 golden Caster experience cards instead.
