I'm replaying Crystal, using the Emu edition hack (which is just a 251 hack). Man I forgot how horribly fucking easy this game was. Half the battles I just held triangle maped to auto-fire A and the right bumper mapped to fast-forward because there's no thought in any of the battles. I was using a team of 4 (5 before I needed a second HM slave and Graveler stopped being that useful) and even though the only grinding I did was 1 level to various Pokemon to hit an evolution before a major battle, I was still 10 levels ahead of everything, sometimes 15. Even Whitney was a pushover. Rom hacks have really spoiled me on Pokemon difficulty, and it's a shame there's no hard mode hack for Crystal that doesn't radically change the gameplay. Even gen 6 and gen 7 were harder than this.
My Pokemon are in the high 40s, so I'm going to get them to level 50 and try Pokemon Stadium 2.

Pikachu - Brave or Quiet nature - Must be born from a parent holding a Light Orb which is then passed on to this Pikachu - Cool contests Volt Tackle Charge Thunder Wave Flash
Skarmory - Adamant nature - Cool contests Drill Peck - Learned from parent such as dodrio Steel Wing Fly Peck - same reason as Pound, synergizes with Drill Peck
For berries for Pokeblocks I'll use Tamato, Spelon - Cool - Apparently you can get Spelon before taking on the Elite Four, which is nice because I don't want to wait until beating the game before getting into contests. Cornn - Beauty Magost - Cute Rabuta - Smart Nomel - Tough

You should play the polished crystal hack. Game is harder, adds stuff from HG&SS, adds the locations/ways to get pokemon that were exclusive to events. All pokemon has unique sprites as well so they all dont look the same.

playing Pokemon Gale of Darkness. Somehow ended up 80% of the pokemon I've acquired are female. at the final fight, was trying the mount battle, got to area 7 and the level jump at 15-18 per pokemon. Which is fun, despite all my buff swords dance, dragon dance not doing fuck all, which is impossible I should do far more damage. It's either OHKO or a huge portion of my pokemons hitpoints, and I generally do fuck all for damage, unless I abuse opposite natures which is a pain in the ass to swap around so often.

I finally got all the ribbons I could on my fucking Claydol, that took way too long. At least I went back and actually got the WiFi ribbon the proper way. I'll post proof if anyone needs but why would I lie about being a giant autist with no life who is bad at video games. If I wanted to do it "legit" again, I'd probably need a GBA flash cart so I can use the German debug Ruby to cut out fucking around in Gen 3, and get some nice extra event ribbons to boot.
