Just because the creator of something says something, that doesn't mean it's true. Google says webms were meant to replace gif but they never did anything that remotely tries to go against gif in the webm standard, instead what they made was a cut down fork of matroska that can only contain their video codecs togheter with xiph.org's vorbis and opus audio codecs. If what they said was true it would be just a new still picture standard that can optionally do low frame rate videos and which would be traditionally saved with a simple header instead of a whole container. You can make a soundless 4 second webm, but gif never in any way modelled the development of webm.

Also expanding on this, there are still edge cases where GIF beats google's VP9/VP8 when dealing with simple flat animations.

WebP is google's attempt at replacing both jpg and PNG. I've used it and it does it's job, webp has better quality than JPG when in the lossy mode and smaller size than PNG when in the lossless mode.
The lossless part is an entirely new codec, the lossy part is a vp9 I-frame. Putting both in the same format is a completely retarded idea but google is the only one trying to do better than jpg and png nowadays.

webms/mp4s only start loading once you click them, a 12MB 30 sec webm is a 400KB/s file, a 12MB 60sec webm is a 200KB/s file. People on dial up can watch them after buffering for a few minutes, if you have it that bad I'm sorry m8.
If codemonkey cared about the size of Holla Forums pages or the bandwidth of his servers he would drop javascript entirely and have new posts appear as they're made with websocket, instead of constantly refreshing the page. I don't know if he fixed it because I haven't bothered checking but it used to be that whenever there was a new post on Holla Forums and your page refreshed, the entire page would be loaded again so fixing that would be nice too.

Thankfully Holla Forums gives it a monopoly by only supporting webm and the much worse and proprietary mp4. Those 2 formats aren't even fully supported, they're only partially supported. For instance webms cannot be posted here if the chroma subsampling of the video is 4:2:0 and subtitles have to be hardcoded because Holla Forums won't allow mp4s/webms with subtitle tracks .
We should just be allowed to post matroskas with any combination of codecs and settings for those codecs.

Flax seed oil is not the best oil. It becomes exceedingly brittle with heavy use. The most durable oil is beef lard in my experience.

If your seasoning comes out brown and splotchy after properly wiping the oil off you do not just turn the heat higher. It is likely the heat was fine, you want to leave it in longer. Turning the heat too high will crack your base layer of seasoning sometimes and then you have to take the nuclear option and redo the whole cunt.

You do not have to use hot water and salt to clean your cast iron. You are not going to damage your seasoning with anything, they make fucking chainmail scrubbers for cast iron. Also, soap these days very rarely contains lye so you can use soap and water to clean cast iron pans safely.

If your food is sticking to your cast iron your seasoning is insufficient. Even with a cold pan and cold butter, my eggs do not stick in my well seasoned pans.

Nah, you spend five minutes taking care of your cast iron and it's as non-stick as teflon. Worth the effort. there's a repository of instrumental tracks and voice only tracks. Look up "Isolated Vocal Tracks" and "Instrumentals". Line em up on audacity or whatever and they match up perfectly, allowing you to prevent sound bleed without a fancy futuristic filter that currently does not exist.

to answer your question, most of them aren't isolated, the production of music in the industry for CD tracks involves not doing the song all at once since recording like that in a room usually drowns out the voice, what they do is do the instrumental (usually with each instrument so they can get the sound balance right) and the vocals separately. some people take these and post them user.
