Can you recommend a JRPG with minimal exposition? I don't want to hear people talk about the village festival anymore

Can you recommend a JRPG with minimal exposition? I don't want to hear people talk about the village festival anymore.

I'll throw you a bump out of my own interest in this

You don't want to hear people talk about the frequent strange earthquakes they've been having for the past year?

Romancing Saga 3. After each opening scenario there is literally no story until you get to the end of the game 100 hours later because you randomly learn abilities so you learn the most powerful one early in the game on accident, or spend 4 months 8 hours a day like a fucking job trying to learn a decent attack.

That sounds equally retarded and fun.

Does this even exist?
The only RPGs that don't have really long exposition I can think of are literally all porn games

Suikoden 1 is like 15 hours long.

Metal Max Returns

Game is petty fun as long as you are lucky. It's non-linear after the main point and you can recruit all different kinds of characters from a ridiculous Arab swordsman, a vampire, a mermaid, a snowman and a fucking yeti. I had to wind up emulating it because the battery on my cartridge died and I can't save on it anymore. Check it out it's pretty dope and once you get a good party, some good attacks and use commander mode it picks up fast and it gets pretty awesome after you take out your first demon noble

Dark Souls :^)

The first Shin Megami Tensei
Your mom send you on an errand to buy some coffee, and then suddenly a guy with a katana in his underwear attack you then Tokyo gets nuked

What? Why? Just play a Japanese action game like Devil May Cry then.

Etrian Odyssey series has you designing your own party of non-speaking characters and the game has minimal story and fluff. It actually makes you more intrigued because you inadvertently end up using your imagination a lot

For some reason I'm getting the feeling it was made for girls.
Treasure of Rudras gets going pretty fast, but it's kinda open ended and you are pretty free to explore the globe after a certain point and designing your own spells can be time consuming.

Then pay the other game what the hell do you want me to tell you. You sound like a fucking 10 year old "ooo it's for grills I might get cooties"

Seconding EO. The games are designed with the philosophy that the players will make up their own story.

That's not what I'm trying to say at all and I'm not saying it's a bad game for it, jeez. No need to be so defensive.
Terranigma has some long dialogues in the beginning, but you only have to listen to other exposition like 4 or 5 more times between each period. Great action RPG.

That mp4 is so fucking creepy

What are you, jewish/muslim?

One of the most refreshing things about Panzer Dragoon Saga is it doesn't waste your time. You might think you're in for an expansive adventure rescuing cats from trees for little girls in cities who happen to conveniently be the mayors daughter so you can get a pass to ride the train to where the fucksville because you heard a rumor that some guy there has a lock of the antagonists hair - but despite it being a 4 disc game, you'll find the total run time is about 20 hours. It's a wholesome and complete feeling game, however. The music is great, the story is interesting, the characters are fascinating at times and endearing at others, the art is tremendous, the combat has a truly cinematic feel to it with creative camera angles and some of the most impressive 5th gen 3D visuals ever. There's a lot to love about it, and what was so nice for me as someone who works so much, is the game didn't waste my time with stupid bullshit.

I think the only thing that might let you down is the world of Panzer Dragoon is so fascinating, you'll be eager to learn more about it.

Valkyrie Profile.

It's entirely intentional.

They should make a game about game development called Dev May Cry

Nigger just play Skyrim if you want no exposition.

I'm fucking sold.

To this day I have no fucking idea what's the deal with platina was.

...

Can agree. EO is pretty good despite the fact you need to grind and read a guide in order to get past every consecutive boss.

...

...

So they're role-playing games uwu

Without too many spoilers. Romancing Saga III progression is measured by your max HP, its jumps like 300, 500, 750, 800, and so on. Its skill based progression, the more you use something in battle the better said character comes with it. There are hidden combo moves that can be unlocked. It is "open world" for the lack of the better word, a place can simply open up by talking to random NPC through out the world. I have beaten the game, and I was quite proud I did it with out any walkthrough or guides. It is a good game and I would put it up there with FF6, Chrono Trigger and some of thee other more popular ones.
