The best open world game I played in a while was State of Decay. The animations are shitty, the missions are repetitive, and the story is abysmal, but there are so many events that take place in real time that it was a real treat to play a little every couple days. If you play a lot at once it's chill and you have everything on lockdown but if you come back after a week some of your survivors cracked under the pressure or died during missions, supply routes will run empty, zombies will have taken more territory causing bigger swarms with tougher enemies, and if your allies don't have enough protection you'll lose them for good.

They also sold complete boxsets once everything was out in those slimpacks for a reasonable price (for the time). Back in the 80s and early 90s the best way to get anime was by ordering fansub tapes from fanzines, or by attending cons. It got easier when companies like Right Stuf came around and you could get official tapes.
Unfortunately subtitled anime sold at a higher price, so if you were a cheapskate you had to settle for dubs. Either way it was expensive, $20-30 for two episodes per tape for official shit. Newfags don't realize how wonderful the internet is for anime. The only good thing about back then is the fandom wasn't cancerous or self-hating. Most of the people I met at cons were ex military dudes that picked up manga when they were stationed in Japan, not the cringy retards that you see at cons today.

Scifi channel used to show stuff like Akira and Vampire Hunter D in the early 90s, that sparked a lot of interest in anime. I think video games helped a bit, too. The purple of the Holla Forums post turns a shitty greenish purple towards the edge, the whole left 6 inches of the screen. Usually this has to do with the connection cable, the one who connects the monitor to the CPU, try to check that out, if not, its a monitor problem.
