Its finally getting a sequel, hopefully Rebellion delivers.

Evil Genius 2
Now that the dust has settled can we all agree evil genius was pretty good? I think dungeon keeper was closer to the dark souls of the series but evil gwnius is good
I remember Evil Genius as being pretty good. It might not have been DK but it was still enjoyable.
Evil Genius is great but i wish maps was bigger and AI more efficient in battles.
leave
Is this elaborate ruse?
>>>/cuckchan/
didn't even notice it, I was too focused on the other one
...
I hated that the super agents or whatever they were called, just pop in and wreck your finely tuned base. it really tickled my autism.
but yeah, good game. hope the sequel won't be shit
Rebellion does some nice work, I just hope they add to the OG isntead of streamlining the fuck out of it.
Oh no
Oh fucking hell no
I don't know about you guys, but I'm sick and tired of having my favorite franchises getting sequels in the current year. I'm betting my ass they'll find a way to "streamline" the experience, remove problematic shit like fattening up Mariana Mamba and having a nigger henchman that goes DAYUM like he fucking should in a 70's setting and there's definitely going to be a non-Trump prez that gets humiliated in it.
I wish there was a bigger incentive in making great traps and that you couldn't have a billion troops casually waltzing into your base if you don't have an army of ballets at the front gates. Also I wish they'd change the Acts of Infamy from time-based to resource based, it was really bothersome having to check two different timers while the base keeps running. Also they should remove that exploit that lets you stop singular units from doing anything you don't want them to by clicking on them and making them waste time on their "presenting" animation multiple times over.
So who created a game based on the esports org? Is it any good? I am a big fan of the esports org
You know it's going to be based off Despicable Memes right?
STOP
Funny you should say that while posting a Meme-ion.
honestly, if I had to choose, I'd say I prefer Evil Genius. I like how comfy it is, especially since you can go on your own pace - unless you decide to go bolder on the Acts of Infamy or Jet Chan decides to come and fuck your shit up, you can just sit back and enjoy planning your moves, doing research, or pondering where to put the motion sensors so the flamethrowers hit the forces of justice justright.png
And while having only 2 bases the entire playthrough makes you grow more attached to them (and the transition to the second base more dramatic), I hope this sequel has more variety in that regard. Maybe something like X-Com where you can establish additional bases elsewhere in the world, or something like that.
I'm way too jaded to be hyped by anything at this point, but this is probably the only vidya-related news I've been still dreaming about for years. I really hope they do good.
I'll off myself. Will stream it.
Capped for future proof, take these retards with you while you're at it >>12961018
Screencapped. You better deliver faggot!
Oh boy.
I cannot wait for them to ((( D I V E R E S I F Y ))) yet another pre-existing , already diverse game series to fit their agendas.
I feel no joy upon the announcement of the desecration of one of my favorite games. There will be no love or joy in it, when the original was so full of charm and character and good base management.
I just want better minion AI and pathfinding. I always jacked up the minion limit to 200 because 100 was just way too limiting, and there would always be like 30 guys just standing around in the barracks confused. Multiplayer would be good too.
No user that's not how things work, you will have to off yourself. I predict a nightmare, it is up to you if you choose to live through it.
I don't know what to feel. I feel uneasiness, apathy and anger mixing into one like I've never felt before. Looking at rebellions track record, it's not bad, but it doesn't do anything to ease this feeling.
They better not touch my main man. That guy saved my ass more times than Red Ivan losing his temper.
FUCK
Inb4 Donald Trump the evil meme mastermind in his secret Trump tower of doom, sponsoring world criminal actions via his kingpin crime network, dubbed 'The Cathedral of Misogyny' as a playable mastermind who combs his hair, and occasionally grabs female henchmen by the pussy, provoking amusing reactions and firing henchmen by literally throwing them into pits of fire
Oh god, yes, would pirate, a make your mastermind would be even better.
yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee booooooooooooooooooooi
Describe each and every one of those playstyles in detail.
I'm already so hard
aaaaand its over.
I just want to play as an evil AI taking over the world.
I was scared when they said they were doing a facebook game, but that fell through so I was hopeful that was that as far as the series went, no degradation just a wonderful little experience.
This fills me with consternation, on one hand I feel a lot more can be done with this, on the other it's CURRENT YEAR+2 and can only dread how they trade out the fucking wonderful 60's vibe for sterilized poz garbage. A lot of shit can be considered problematic in that fun little game, fuck even game play would get fucked. For example, the insanity that was Red Ivan, that would never be allowed in CURRENT YEAR gaming. Traps would probably not even need sensors and would instantly go off when someone gets under them. Your Evil Genius wouldn't need to be present to gloat during interrogations, all minions would carry a gun instantly instead of end game units, etc.
I'm just way hand shy for this shit. I cna only picture it oging bad.
However if they manage to get the same guy for the OST, maybe some hope can be restored because that shit was dope at making you feel like you were in the movies
People like me used to put people like you in your fucking place, you thesaurus reading bitch boy.
Pass yourself off as a government entity when you're not through naming schemes, victory by a limitless veil of deception
Completely discreet with operations, if the required mercenariy requirements are not met, do not undertake any worldwide operations, focus of weapons dealership and resource gathering, Mastermind rarely leaves a room, sends assistant instead
World domination, abolishment of world faith, base is in a cold climate, subversion of goverment is the key goal
Do hitler things that worked in the past when confronted with game mechanics that allow this, recruit arayans only and choose german accent
Like mossad, but basically dedicated to achieving political immunity, performing atrocity in the open and getting away with it
NO ONE MUST EVER SEE YOUR MASTERMIND IN PERSON, ANYONE WHO DOES MUST DIE.
Damn, I hope they deliver
...
Not looking forward to it. Even though all they need to do is tweak a few things from the original to make it perfect, they will turn it into a shitty console-focused game.
If you had only one of them at a time, it was easy enough to cheese them into being docile.
The problem was when two or even three of them would strike at the same time after hours of none of them showing up, or they'd never fucking leave. They have a bad habit of walking out into the middle of nowhere to escape, finding one scientist wandering around, killing him, and starting the process over again. I once had Jet Chan do this like 10 times in a row.
Sniper Elite is a really campy game, but the good kind of camp. But I really wish they wouldn't try to resurrect a franchise just to fuck with us.
??
Reminder that their shows, probably barring Little Witch Academia which has got quite the funding, all inherently suck and are enjoyed by the kind of people who have multiple tumblr rp accounts.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Games might be kinda fun but don't be fooled.
DON'T YOU FUCKING DARE !
Oh wait, I forgot one thing also. They tried to make an online version.
If they made a Despicable Me spinoff it would sell like hotcakes.
you niggers know it's going to have microtransactions up the ass
I am looking forward to this and there is nothing you can do to stop me.
Stay mad jaded-fags.
...
And I've got it all figured out, too. At least there's always /legion/.
must not get hyped
but goddamn I loved this fucking game; nothing was more satisfying than having a Labyrinth of traps and making money off of combos alone
Fucking why? They knew about Dungeon Keeper, right?
Good job.
Read the article man
People keep mixing up the shitty ass mobile version of the game, we have very little details on this sequel so we don't know shit. They do say they could have done a kickstarter but said it didn't feel fair since they could field the costs themselves, so that's something I guess.
Recently got an itch to play it and there's an overhaul mod for it. Increases minion pool, increased revenue so you can build your base quicker, removed duplicates of some missions. Basically removes some of the time elements and just makes the game more fun.
Guy is still working on it as well I think. Can find it on Nexus.
Already dropped.
I wanted to play the original before, it looked and sounded like fun, but I know that it would never replace Dungeon Keeper. Additionally, any remake in this day and age is bound to fail.
I mean I want it to succeed, be fun, and ultimately the best in the genre, but I know that won't happen
It wasnt made to replace dungeon keeper
Not everything needs to be the fucking best ever in the category or "X killers" or replace anything.
If you like DK, give it a shot. DK2 is better than it, but it's still a pretty good game.
Didn't you know? There can only be one good game per genre. Any other game in the genre is just a shitty clone. Evil Genius, Dwarf Fortress, Theme Hospital, all just shitty Dungeon Keeper clones that can never replace the King.
Summer is getting to me. Send help!
Mod support is such a basic thing to have in a game.
I want to argue with you but I know you're probably right and now I'm angry
Name one modern sequel that didn't end up adding modern degeneracy into the game. Deus ex added cover shooting, ebin memes and a pozzed storyline. Thief became a dishonoured clone with none of the level design. Prey became Bioshock without interesting enemies and with crafting bullshit. Doom went from a shooter to a game about melee kills for infinite ammo. Fallout 3 I shouldn't need to tell you about.
Just name one good modern sequel/remake.
...
You can thank Microsoft and their enormous push for DLC for crippling that trend.
Kikes even forced Valve to sell L4D mappacks on Xbox Live when it was free everywhere else.
RE7 was alright compared to 5/6
Bethesda was the one pushing DLC in their updates
Check your facts Sonygger
I've had too many of my old favorites corpses dug up and defiled to feel good about this.
Nah, nah dude. Microsoft are notorious for charging for free content. I think it was Super Meat Boy or another indie game that got a free content update on steam but Microsoft forced the dev to charge for it on XBLA.
The update with exclusive content for the 360 version?
Go home buddy, but i will give you demos locked behind XBL Gold, that was real bullshit
No shit
I've been a mustard since 7th Gen
Refrain from posting please
Guess who also started that trend
Microsoft wasn't, as PS2 started with the exclusive content trend in their aggressive campaign back in 2001 to 2003, you remember the magz, then they switched to the surrealism trend with fucked up renders of people having "fun"
EDF 4.1 and 5
I don't remember that
Yeah, played Mark of Kri, Yakuza, Ace Combat and War or the Monsters for the first time with the demo discs.
I don't remember exclusive content bullshit, besides preorder bullshit in 2004 when Goyimstop started to gain traction, until the advent of console multiplayer into the mainstream.
5 is going to be very much the same game unless they're hiding a ton of content behind the announcemnents and streams.
I want my Hectors back
Of course its going to be the same, the entire series is nothing but reboots, remakes, and expansion packs, sometimes all of them at the same time. That is what makes the series good and staves off cancer. They've got something that works and continue to slowly guide its growth with love and care like any developer should do for its daughter, or would you rather they radically depart from what works and churn out something like IA in an attempt to innovate and bring in a larger crowd? Although I can't give IA too much flak as we wouldn't have the fencer and air raider without it, and that is a world I wouldn't want to defend.
Settle this *whips out dick and balls*
I don't really care for people's opinion on nazism. There's way too much anti-propaganda to make a sensible choice between liking or hating them. But I do get anxious from seeing people's opinions on diversity and muh white men.
Why the fuck is it a she or even worse a tranny? The base minion is always male. Either they make/made the base minion interchangeably sexed or this is just a retarded promotion just to include a woman in a high position. Which, you know, they already had with the henchwomen.
Kids hate Despicable Me, they only care about the Minions, and they sure as hell wouldn't play complex games about them.
Men are considered disposable, even in fantasy. Men dying by the millions in any fantasy novel means nothing.
Evil Genius was a shitty Dungeon Keeper knockoff, but Dungeon Keeper was so good that even a shitty knockoff is still a good game.
Well I managed to get some prototype cover art of the game. View at own risk anons.
Shit that looks good! I cannot wait for this game now, do you think there will be early access? That would be great!
erry tiem
learn how to convey a message without using subconcious unoriginal templates you sad excuse of a human.
n-no bully
Evil Genius was good but the micromanagement you had to do on the world map was a major annoyance, fixing that alone would improve the sequel massively.
Nigger, what micromanagenent?
Does Rebelliion have a history of pozzing up their games? I can't recall any of their recent titles, if they've made anything recently, so I can't tell.
I think its almost a given that there'll be a jab at Trump in there. Hopefully its more homage/parody than straight up bashing, though.
I think an AI evil genius would be a great idea. Some SKYNET-reject that wants to reassert control. Something like ``I Am An Insane Rogue AI`` even if they have to take shortcuts to close the gap between them and a "normal" Evil Genius.
And if they were specialised niggers you had to go and retrain new ones, shit was a hassle when I just wanted to build my evil lair.
Henchefags can't lose lives on the world map and any plotting technicians or mercs pay their value until dick steele comes and gives them the d.
Where's the problem? If you had any trap combo generators set up worst you lost was time.
Not him but completing side-missions was a massive punishment, as it brings Bikini Bamba and fucking Bruce Lee
And trap combos were useless when there's no way to research and minions steal way, way more gold than thiefs
I'm not sure of the specific mission (it's been a few years) but I'm 90% sure the thing that caused annoying attrition was just the standard background 'make me some cash' shit you had to keep running all the time rather than the specific storyline missions. Your two options for avoiding henchman deaths (which were a hassle to replacement) form that were to micromanage moving them around different world zones every few minutes or to call them all back home and sit idle for a few hours waiting for the heat to die down. Both were not fun and the latter tactic, while slow, make the entire game trivially easy.
Not talking about your island being invaded (that's fine), just the random 'faggots you put on the world map have died because you didn't check heat levels every minute of gameplay' shit. Now it's less of an issue once your base is set up but it still bored me shitless.
That should be 'replace' and 'from', obviously.
This is autism.
Also while the exact details might be off (again it's been a few years since I played it) that constant hassle is my lasting memory of the game which is a real shame. Well that and that one henchman who was better at blowing up my own shit than the enemy though that falls more into the category of 'funny' than 'annoying'.
Traps giving you a ton of low effort, heat unrelated cash and keeping your base safe are anything but useless.
If you put two dozen biochemists or whateverfags on the map and forget to set them on (((hide))) that's still your fault. And I got what you were saying but what I'm saying is that you don't need to depend (and constantly replace) armyfags for your gold.
>If you put two dozen biochemists or whateverfags on the map and forget to set them on (((hide))) that's still your fault. And I got what you were saying but what I'm saying is that you don't need to depend (and constantly replace) armyfags for your gold.
Not an option for the first 5-6 hours of the game, at least not if you're on your first playthrough and aren't rushing through it. You'll be relying on micromanagement or long periods of inactivity for most of the first island. Come to think of it didn't minions automatically unhide themselves on the map after five minutes so you had to constantly fucking reopen it and reset their order to hide? What is that if not pointless micromanagement?
But that's okay because that's how black/asian/white cop exploitation action movies played like. But the core of the minion management is getting them to evolve with new jobs. Why would they make a female one when the whole minion cast is white twinks? It's just to add to a diversity quota.
You can zerg build all the minions you need and keep sending them to bring you money and die after a few minutes. The problem is that there's no way to tell which missions are going on, which places your minions are being targeted and need to hide, and to control your main base at the same time, all because the Acts of Infamy are time-based. The UI needs major improvements.
Actually, in "bring me muni" missions, only the small fries get to die. Henchmen are just sent back to your island, if I recall. The only way for them to lose a life is if you let them get killed in your main base, but even then there's some exploits to get them healthy again. Also you should never use them against special agents because that's the #1 way to get them killed, just toss all your disposable minions at them.
Problem is that you have to sacrifice your already small building space for that shit, making sure that not only you fix them periodically when deactivated by agents but that your own men don't casually stroll into them. Sure, you can always replace them, but it's just easier/faster to Valet spam (since that's also one of the easiest classes to unlock). Traps do let me live my ancap fantasies, but they're nowhere as good as spamming slaves.
The only way for your henchmen to lose lives is for them to die fighting a super spy on your island. Even if they die to regular spies, they'll just fall unconscious and brush it off after a little bit.
What's wrong with using hotel hubs outside the mountain? Sure, the UI can always be better but you're the only one who can initiate missions, and having several concurrent ones while not paying attention is solely on your head.
stahp
...
Are you perhaps retarded? One uber trap takes very little space and permanently solves the agent issue.
...
made that shit an broke the game. who ever came up with that shit is a mad man.
Mind you, that shit isn't even downright exploits like the trapping monkeys or freaks.
Oh, right
After the early game, people start swarming in your island uncontrollably, especially goddamn tourists. Hotel lobbies help a bit, but you have to keep tabs on so many random agents and civvies moving in and out. Instead of being a master villain, you're basically an overpriced bouncer.
I probably am but I never found one that wasn't being used by my own men as a test of their endurance.
I tried to look for a loss here
Using freezers instead of corridors helps a ton and then some.
...
Interesting, but I'm not going to get optimistic, been hurt before.
Are we going to pretend like EDF 2/2017/2025 didn't substancially improve upon each other?
I never knew I wanted something so bad till I heard it right now.
Would it be EDF but set in the seventies as you play as one of the Evil Genius themselves or a henchman while being helped by minions with some minor base management feaures
OR
A base management game where you train your evil henchmen into becoming supreme warriors to defeat the space bugs but ultimately rule the world?
Fuck there's so much it could be. Henchmen fighting swarms of agents in a city while committing acts of villainy? Or fighting an Evil Genius breeding swarms of giant incests in a volcano lair trying to stop them taking over the world?
I believe you're missing the point of the game.
Wait a second, isn't that picture by a japanese pixiv artist who makes very weird transformation and inflation pictures where all the girls look confused?
...
Perhaps.
You cant let an evil genius take over the world before you do it
Is that pic vanilla?
You are the evil genius.
the shittiest part of the game was the super agents being immortal. I had to build a fucking massive trap vault just for steele and he'd still just teleport around destroying shit and setting the base to amber
Why not Henchmen riding swarms of Giant Incests taking over the World?
The attrition would be astounding but that shouldn't stop an evil genius.
what's the deal here? I don't remember what those things are
It is, I was just trying to make you say it.
...
The wall traps are blowers, if I recall correctly. That configuration should cause enemies to circle the square (being blown by each set of fans). Those other traps are gas traps, I don't remember what yellow and orange are. So, basically, the guys would walk into that room and then get stuck in an infinite loop, I'd reckon.
awesome
If a high ranking saboteur/a super agent/squad of soldiers gets in here it's gonna start a different chain reaction, so you best pray you got some fucking fire extinguishers in that corridor just outside of it.
Rebellion seem cool. I remember playing rogue trooper ages ago, and honestly what he's saying about it is correct. Many things about it were pretty revolutionary for it's time IMO, and also the loyalty they held to the source material was impeccable. Good to know that they're also publishing 2000 AD comics now as well or they might have been already and I might even check out the mega city one series when I get through my TV backlog.
I wouldn't have thought rebellion would have any sjw affiliations, the nazi tweet seems a bit suss but that's probably just (((media influence))). I just hope these bastards don't let us down, there's a lot to deliver here. Hoping for customisable Minions and Villains with inventories and more variable stats tbh
