As for whether a translation patch for Fate/Extra CCC has been made sadly no. So better get good at moon speak if you want to play that.

If you like Fate and you like RPGs, you'll like Fate/Extra. It's been a while but I'll try to remember the mechanics as best I can. It's combat system is not incredibly intricate by any means but it will at least keep you entertained for one playthrough. Basic combat is rock paper scissors with 3 "moves" a turn (for example your opponent chooses "rock, scissor, rock" while you choose "paper, paper, parer") at first with any enemy you won't know what they're going to throw but as you kill more of them you collect "data" and the game will show you what each will do that turn making it easier to kill things the more you do. Early enemy patterns are simplistic enough that they only repeat one pattern but later I think they can have up to 5. Again, this is just for generic mobs. Bosses are different and are the servants of enemy masters. Unlike generics, the only way to collect intel on what moves the other servants will use is investigating. You will fight an enemy servant every week and you get 7 in game days to investigate. (Basically the game drops hints to talk to individual X or go into the dungeon and kill enemy Y) at the end of the week you and your servant take over any intel you have and you get an additional bonus if you can guess the true name of the enemy servant you're fighting. Now, having covered basic combat. There are additional "moves" that can be done using Noble Phantasms, or having MC use skills to support (heal your servant would be a basic example). Noble Phantasms can be pretty cool. Archer for instance gets to summon Rho Aias and if you properly time it you can completely cancel the enemy bosses super move making it much easier to survive.

As for story, it's Fate but every mage is now a computer savy "hacker' which is basically mages with computers. It's a grail war, you fight other servants, you can waifu(or husbando for Archer) your servant. There is exactly 1 divergent point in the gameplay for the story and it basically determines who you fight for two weeks and what other Master falls in love with you. I played the game twice because of that but after the third time the gameplay gets so grating it was impossible for me. The problem with that is you have the choice for three servants so the game really wants you to play it three times but isn't helping matters. It's overall okay but not fun to get through the story or gameplay more than twice. The story is not amazing by any standard of Fate shit but it's nice. And sets up the events of CCC if they ever fucking translate it,

Oh almost forgot, all Servants are pretty great. Nero is a King Arthur without a stick up her ass and has a nice sass to her. Caster just wants to waifu you to death. Archer is (not) Shirou so you already know him, but if you really like the character you can play with him I guess. Gilgamesh isn't including in the first game whatsoever, but is palyable in CCC.

He's better for late game as a support due to his ungodly levels of buffing but since he requires large amounts of investing, he won't spiral completely out of control until later.

Out of those 4 Tamamo Cat is the obvious choice. Both Emiya and Heracles are actually quite good.

this game is not pay to win. there are 3 stars servants that are very good and they are actually easier to raise since they take less investment. 5 stars servants take a lot of investment in order for them to shine. they also give you 2 free 4 stars one in the tutorial and the other free pick and you can get herc which is one of the best characters in the game who 5 star disguised as a 4 star

I've gotten to the point where cost is getting in the way of me being able to do make teams. if you have a team of 5 stars and want to gear them right you wont be able to cause the cost. so i realized there are a lot of nice characters but you cant use them all

That is deliberate, even if you can afford the cost you are actually very limited by design. So you basically make your dream team, and then everyone else is just completing their side quests and what have you.

Read the fight. Archer was letting himself be disarmed, using that to advance mercilessly and was pushing Lancer back. The reason Lancer tried to Gae Bolg was because getting pushed back by a bowman was annoying.

Moreover, Lancer's identity was seen through while all Lancer knows about Archer is; he has lots of swords. It was a complete defeat for Lancer.

The game's honestly piss-easy, so you can get by with pretty much any meme combo. If you want to go with Siegfried+George, you'll also want to eventually add on Beowulf once he comes to NA - or, rather, Beowulf with his Bond CE, which grants a party wide damage boost against Dragon enemies.

It would never be an "effective" team in the meta, but using that sort of team with Battle Suit and proper supports (Merlin especially) but almost anything can be called serviceable.

user, I hate to tell you this, but Lancer tries to use Gae Bolg at the drop of a hat. The Red Man might be more useful than his stats alone indicate, but he's at a huge disadvantage against the dog. His most powerful attacks (ranged projectiles, BP spam) are rendered much less effective against Protection from Arrows, none of his limited magic is a match for Runes, he has no defense against revising casuality with Gae Bolg, and his best defense (Rho Aias) can only survive the brunt of Gae Bolg Alternate.

You can't really comment on his identity, considering that nobody would be able to figure out the true identity of a nameless counter guardian. And in terms of actual combat, the fight in front of the Church is pretty much the best example of just how outmached Archer is in comparison.

There's few servants that Archer has a worse compatibility with than Cu, and he has virtually no chance of winning without a great deal of Master support. Even against the Caster variant, he was fucked.

The main campaign is piss easy so you could probably do it with most team comps. With Berserkers just be aware your entire experience will go great until you have enemies you can't kill in one turn. If you're not an idiot you should be fine. Just be aware all of your berserkers are glass cannons.

Of course you're going to be required to use other people's servants anyways so just borrow that level 50 shielder if you need a tank :^)
