Will there EVER be a proper One Piece game...

Will there EVER be a proper One Piece game? Not this Musou shit and not unpolished wannabe action adventures on archaic systems.

Will there EVER be a proper Hokuto no Ken game? Not this Musou shit and not unpolished wannabe action adventures on archaic systems.

What would be a proper Hokuto no Ken game, anyway?
I'm actually watching this for the first time and it's absolutely fantastic in every way

Is this still going? Did they ever find the treasure?

Dynasty Warriors One Piece , the first one was actually quite good. Solid maps, great adventuring, the QTE thing was a little tiring, but exploring using Luffy's abilities was neat.

And to answer your question seriously, like all anime, getting a decent game that fits into the theme and really gives you that "HOLY SHIT IT'S JUST LIKE MY JAPANESE ANIMES" experience is almost impossible.

Most developers decide between either
A) making the game cinematic
B) actually making it playable.

One or the other. For some reason being cinematic and playable are mutally exclusive to most developers , evne though it clearly should not be.

A boss rush brawler?

one piece is about the adventure and exploring the world, not the treasure at the end of the journey

There already is.

In my opinion, a proper fist of the northstar game could be built out of Fallout 3.

GO AWAY TODD THIS IS MY IDEA

its hard to do a game about shonenshit.

the way i see it, when you get a franchise of anime or TV show that you want to make a game about, there's 3 ways to go about it

1) Remake. make a game that follows the exact same story as a part of the anime/tv show, this is what DBZ, berserk, and most anime games do. also Digimon Adventure on the PSP. and then make it a related genre. ie: if its bleach, a fighting game.

2) Off shot. you can use the same franchise to make a game in the same world without it being related to the animes/TV shows except maybe for context, this is what pokemon and digimon have been doing for ages. an Offshot can also include the sequel to a movie/anime in the form of a videogame.

and lastly
3) Bullshit. this category is reserved for when developers do something really stupid like making a game based on the live action movie which was based on a previous game/anime. or making a totally unrelated game. for example, imagine One Piece Card Battle, Dragon Ball MOBA, FPS death note, or Game Of Thrones Dancing All Night. some genres just dont fit with some thematic anime/TV shows. Bullshit happens when devs milk an IP out of its very life for a few extra nickels.
