Dewy's adventure

I want to buy this game, I have a voucher that essentially let's me get this game for free, and was wondering what your thoughts are on this, and if it's worth the purchase

It looks like Dewy is going to go on an adventure suitable for young men and women above the age of three. It sounds like you'll have a wonderful time with it.

Fun little game. Has a clever gimmick that I don't think I've seen elsewhere - because your hero is literally made of water, you change form based on the temperature. Dewy's abilities are very different based on whether he's water, ice, or steam, and the player controls the thermostat.

Be warned in advance, though - the game uses tilt controls, and that makes it much, MUCH harder than it would have been normally. You're not controlling Dewy directly, you're tilting the Wiimote to tilt the stage to make him roll in the right direction. This takes a lot of getting used to. Imagine playing a very easy, slow-paced 3D platformer, but you have to play it left-handed and doing a headstand.

Still a charming little game if you can get past the weird controls. I still have the plush Dewy that came with it sitting on the dash of my car - which makes it really easy to find, because this is the first time I've encountered anyone else who's even HEARD of this game, let alone bought it.

If you buy it, take a red marker and re-title it "down's adventure".

There was a Wii game called Fluidity with the same mechanic. It came out three years after Dewy's Adventure.
