I finished Homefront 2 after 14 hours. Overall, I'd say it was okay for 10 bux. I think what held the game back was mainly poor gunplay, gimmicky stealth in yellow zones.
Surprisingly the game didn't lock content behind collect-a-thon stuff like most Ubishit games.
I can definitely see why the game bombed at 60 yuros, especially since apparently it wasn't very stable on launch.

There's that Timesplitters 2 easter egg that allows you to play the first two levels too. Really made me miss Free Radical's stuff, I loved TS and Second Sight. I will always be amazed at the quality of their animations, everything really has that animated movie feel to it. Their animators were really talented.

R6S is questionable at best. Especially considering that the hit detection seems to be VERY wonky and client-side, and headshots kill with one shot at all times. Also needs double DRM.

I have played it for a couple of minutes. Seems fine. I only want it for the HD version of X-2 mostly which I've started about 5 times in the past and played for 5 minutes. Hoping the clean HD version with all the pretty dresses can motivate me to finish. Might be tempted to replay FFX just to try the expert sphere grid this time, I was too much a bitch before. I'm not a JRPG fan. FFX is the only one I think in hindsight I like.

FFIX is still the same old with the 15fps battles, lots of text to read too. I've started that game a million times as well and always just lose patience. The good news is I believe the option in settings lets you skip the intro to battles if that seems any good.

I don't much about fightan user. I prefer the look of the old Guilty Gear and it costs me a lot less in money and time to download and play for a bit every time I want to remember why I don't play much 2D fightan at least.

Penumbra 1/2, Amnesia 1, Outlast. All four are far better "cheap jumpscare" games.

I've only touched the port for a few minutes but it's leagues better than PCSX2. The new soundtrack, GUI and HD textures/models make it fresh enough.

I used to like KOTOR as a kid but that's the closest I've come. I'm driven by the combat mechanics mostly, closest thing to "CRPG" I like might be X-COM, because I liked Fire Emblem. Bought those already, just waiting to be played. Player freedom is like shitting on a canvas for myself personally, but as a kid I would be wowed by the shit they have these days.

Have you tried Final Fantasy Tactics? Similar to nu-XCOM and Fire Emblem in that it's grid based, turn-based, isometric tactical combat. It does have some dialog heavy segments, especially in the beginning, but the combat/class mechanics are deep if you can make it a couple of hours in, and the story is still the best FF has seen to date.

I bought Grey Goo and then a 4 pack of Rise of Nations to play with my friends. Pretty good stuff so far to be honest, but I fucking suck at RoN, keeping eating shit early on. I need ot learn how to up my efficiency.

Honestly it's shit, the engine is better than in Rome 2, but the game just isn't fun at all, at least for me. The armies are all ugly hunchback retards, and that includes the romans. There is no legion or even just proper Hastati like in Rome 1, there's no expanding your empire in this game, no matter what faction you play, because the campaign includes large scale scripted events that will overwhelm you no matter what, it's always just cutting losses and fearful maintenance. The horde mechanic is also very boring. Total War is no fun if you're not expanding your reign from nothing to complete domination.

If you like the feeling of being the low middle class of the foodchain, I would recommend it. The world is prebuilt, but the enemies are somewhat random and unscripted other than typical spawn points. The flora/fauna is strange and often terrifying, and exist outside of a need to stop your progress. Has a lot of problems, but the world itself and your place in it makes it engrossing to me.

Not saying you'd like it now, but the game does take a while to get interesting and introduce the creatures. Number one thing I can recommend is do not use a stick to move, use a dpad(my knockoff has a good one, so I guess keyboard might be better). You need to have reproducible actions and restricting input to the cardinal directions is a must.
There is a ton of hidden mechanics that the game does not tell you about. There's only two so far I've found online that I would say you NEED to know going in:
Pirate it before playing, but I have to say I'm satisfied with my purchase, especially with a new free expansion just announced which will add more creatures and different characters that correspond to difficulty. And multiplayer, but I'm pretty sure it will be local only and you'd need friends for that.

I've bought XCom 2 and Stardew Valley, considering nuDoom

I was thinking of picking up planet coaster after seeing a stream of it, is the game really bad or is it not worth $30 USD.

It's mediocre, so definitely not worth $30. They promised a spiritual successor to RCT2 since Atari can't be bothered to make a decent sequel. The game and creation tools that came out were underwhelming, and the devs implemented Denuvo. I still don't think you can add heavy mods to the game.

It makes for a fun HTML5 online game you can get for free. But it's not good enough to pay $2.50, let alone $5.

The staying power of the game largely depends on how much of a scorehunter you are, but the presentation and design of the game are no joke and are worth it for just that alone. In my eyes it's a perfect game, but a niche one that will not appeal to many. But at the very least it's worth it to try a bit and get good so you can appreciate the design and effort that went into the game. The skill ceiling of the game is tremendous.

Immortal Redneck is good fun for 10 to 13 hours or so which is roughly the time you'll need to finish it anyway. It encourages movement and has a good variety of weapons. I enjoyed my time spent on so it's up to you to see if the game is worth that much.
It's been a while since I played Ziggurat so I can't really give you any other detail than that it's decent.

There's also Strafe if you want FPS roguelites but I'd suggest you streer clear from it, it fails at almost everything it set out to do.

You pick your starting gun and that's it, afterwards you can pick up stuff from levels but you only get one mag in it and then you can go fuck yourself. How can you pretend to make an """old-school""" FPS roguelite if you don't even get this kind of stuff right ?

It completely neuters variation but I kind of get what they were going for. I think if they had more ammo, or functioned like your main and broke over time or gave you an option of switching your main weapon for the one you've found the system would be better. Shit if they had more main weapons you could unlock to use from the start it would work better.
It's just too boring now, I've restarted multiple times a couple of minutes because I realized how much I hated the weapon I used and switched it for another only to quit because it too felt like trash.
