We can now take games like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild wherever we want to go, thanks to the Nintendo Switch. Ten years ago, something like that was hard to imagine.

They aren't all (1)'s, there are users here with more than one post still calling the autist out and saying they don't want it.

I'd agree if there were only spam fucking the thread with one liners lacking substance, but this isn't really the case. There are about 60+ ID's and the majority of them I've tapped had have more than one post, and the (1) and dones are surprisingly minimal. I could even say most of the (1)'s have substance as well, which is surprising.

Maybe hipsters/others admire R.O.B's RP (not robfag himself) and his way of showcasing Nintendo games in such a pristine, perfect light, similar to a Disney Channel sitcom because it helps them conceal the bitter taste of modern games not being up to par. R.O.B brings those sweet childhood memories back by being a sort of mascot that makes the games more palatable, acting like a person enjoying the game as much as possible instead of like a shill, it brings IMMENSE comfort.

So it's sugarcoating new games to be as attractive as possible by linking childhood (ROB and GB) nostalgia to a modern product (Switch) bringing in an audience that would typically not care about modern games, or maybe I'm wrong and they're all fucking fanboys and this is just a simple circlejerk.

Anyways, that's some sort of good marketing, actually. It WOULD be effective to attract older people to try new Nintendo products the same way pokemon go users were introduced to sun and moon, breaking the all-time record. By using older Nintendo properties to advertise newer products, it's foolproof!

Also, people here do NOT try and bash Nintendo games because they're edgy contrarians. Nintendo is still the top dog when trying out new things, but they've slowed down dramatically since the end of the Wii era.
They critique their games harshly, out of love, out of FEAR. They've fallen off the Nintendo hype train, and their rose-tinted glasses have fallen off as well, a rough landing you can say. They don't want Nintendo to become JUST another company, they don't want to say "Oh, who cares that they've become less obvious about being money hungry, It's only Amiibos/DLC/Censorship, I'll still support them!". You also have to remember, Nintendo doesn't get much flack, so people who criticize are a minority, and *hearing someone critique something you've loved for so long, is also frightening *(This is a perspective on people who still love Nintendo.)
