So I installed Complete and it turned out to be so much easier than I remember. ZRP is definitely the way to go here. It is by far the best bug fix mod out there and polishes the gameplay without changing it that much.

What does your reputation even do? Is there any real reason not to introduce every moron who posts that they found a moonlight on slav-twitter to the business end of my shotgun?

Reputation is your standing within your faction. As far as I can tell, it serves no gameplay purpose. "Goodwill" is what you would traditionally consider your "reputation", and this is what is used to determine prices and faction hostilities.
