They're both mono-gendered and mono-sexed, though relative to the asari those words don't mean anything. The asari don't use masculine or feminine pronouns. In ME2 Aria scoffs at the idea of asari using masculine pronouns. In ME3 Aethyta establishes asari don't gender the words "mother" and "father" (notice she doesn't say "male" and "female") - those words just indicate biological contribution. That's why it doesn't make any sense that there's an asari VI in ME:A saying that asari use masculine, feminine, and gender neutral pronouns. They don't use any of those. If they're mono-gendered they have no gender division, making multiple pronouns superfluous. BioWare forgot though, or they chose not to remember to virtue signal.

They're referred to as feminine because that's how other species view them and it's reflected in the universal translator. The conversation where the asari VI rapes her own species' lore should have explained exactly what you said instead.

Reapers were fine. The Reaper plotline just shouldn't have been resolved in 3 games' time. In an ideal, less-blockbuster industry it would take several trilogies to deal with them.

If you're talking about Shepard being killed and then regrown and turned into a cyborg, that's not so bad in terms of the lore. It doesn't directly contradict anything, especially since Cerberus doesn't care about Council regulations. ME2 neglecting any elements of transhumanism and paradoxes of essentialism were what was really wrong with it.

I'm not saying it got as much hatred as ME3. As much as ME2 changed shit, it wasn't half as bad as what ME3 did to the series. But just off the top of my head, as far as hated gameplay decisions go:

1) Changing guns to use ammo for reasons that make no sense lore-wise
2) Dumbing down the skill system
3) Making the game play overall more like a standard shooter
4) Complete removal of inventory system
5) Complete removal of Mako (and then replacing it with whatever that new fucking vehicle was)>>12913780

I'm not claiming that. ME2 definitely didn't get as much hatred as ME3 (or, at the very least, the hatred ME2 got was not nearly as publicized).

But ME2 did get a lot of flak for:
1) Contributing absolutely nothing whatsoever to the series as a story
2) Making nonsensical lore changes like ammo clips (and then having planets that directly contradict said lore changes)
3) Removal of entire gameplay segments (exploring planets, inventory systems, etc.) Those systems weren't particularly well done in the original, but the correct response is not to just fucking gut them
4) The massive, dumbed down changes to the skill system
5) Making the game far more like a standard third-person shooter

And that's just off the top of my head. I'm sure there was a lot more shit that the game was criticized for that I can't recall.

The problem was going to be solved by space magic, from what I remember of the interview with the lead writer. Even though space magic in that verse had defined physical limits and all that, it still somehow solves it. Plus more of the humans are oh so special down to our genetics from ME2. The Reapers ascend the prime species of each cycle hoping that with each intelligence that enters the Reaper collective they'll become closer to solving the problem of the premature heat death of the galaxy due to dark matter generation via the use of mass effect fields. The relays increase the rate at which species achieve space travel, which artificially increases the net amount of dark energy being produced, which is a gamble the Reapers made in the hope that it'd lead to an answer faster.
