Perfect/Favorite Games

Whats your favorite game, lads?

Pic related is mine.
>Dropping a fucking orbital laser cannon space station on the final boss and surviving the impact at ground fucking zero

i wish they were more 2 seat mechs to do coop and replace that shitty wavepoint/limitedlife thingy.

...

One of my top 10 favorite games. Who was the true talent behind LP2 because no way keiji could have come up with all of the cool stuff

Automata pushed the boundaries of video game quality. It's 11/10, literally perfect.

Apparently there are rumors of a new Lost Planet game being made, which I highly doubt after the absolute failure of Lost Planet 3.

In the extremely unlikely event that they do end up making a new one, I hope they learn from their mistakes with 3 and just give us something on the level of 2 again.

I hope we get more batshit insane "Flying a double track railway gun through the air" bullshit. That stuff was fucking rad.

You're gonna need to explain it a little bit more lad. What about it did you really like?

Combat, flexible difficulty, feel of progression, meaningful side-quests that tie into the main story, visuals, music, plot, "lore", characters, voice acting, literally everything.
It's the first game that managed to change my attitude towards a character from "I fucking hate this fuckboy" to "He's my nigger for life".
Non-sexual fanservice in the form of references to the original Nier and Drakengard only pushed my emotional investment beyond "fucking love it" level.

that's goooood bait my friend, i droped this game about 5 hours into, it's extremely repetitive and the combat is shallow like no other, even mosou games have more moves, the port sucks, all that was left to enjoy was the story but since i am extremely anti weeb i did not like it

That's a blatant lie.
Werks on my machine.
It's not even a weeb story, it's kind of 80s american sci-fi drama with extra existentialist tones.
You just have shit taste I guess.

It may be a little cliche but I still think number 2 is the best in the series and 4 only solidified this fact even more for me.

lost planet 3 was by a western dev in the same way DmC was but instead of DmC the dev team was competent however three things hindered the game, it had it's development time cut in half and then rushed out, they wanted to compete with dead space 3, the writer for it is some hollywood wanna be

Gotta agree with you, OP. Any game that can have both an underwater section and a space section that are not suck is 10/10 gotye material in my book.

Something like a Tank VS with one player controlling a missile/cannon turret and the other player driving would be pretty sweet.

I feel like maybe your anti-weeb stance may have skewed your view of the game a bit considering how weeb it is.

It's weeb as fuck m8.
Metal Wolf Chaos was a 80's American action movie (Specifically along the lines of "Air Force One" on steroids, but it was still Weeb as fuck

I would have liked a bit more control in the space and underwater sections though. Would have rather had a jet pack let me fly/swim around as I wished, like the little jet bikes.

The Triseed though was always fun to wreck shit with. Especially on the space station mission where you can get 2 Homing Lasers and can Gundam SEED the fuck out of the bases' defenses.

I feel like the grappling hook gives you enough mobility to just scrape by in those sections but I agree that it could have been better.

There's just a lot of potential with the Lost Planet games that has gone utterly untapped. Lost planet 3 was a mistake

The fucking grappling hook was so fucking genius.

Use it to climb shit
Use it to hang from ceilings, or rappel down cliffs while shooting fuckers
Use it to latch onto the big red asses of Akrid to unload a mag directly into their weak point

Loved how easy it was to shoot your own grenades for a bigger more powerful explosion. Great way to reward skill.

I remember the disc grenades most because I wasand still am a huge precisionfag. I loved lining up and tracking a throw from a huge distance and getting it to stick.

I really hoped more games would see the way the grappling hook was used in Lost Planet and copy it the way they do everything else, but I guess innovation truly is dead.

I just wanted to play video games.
I liked EDF, but it just isn't the same

the controls are a decent mixture of clunky and rewarding, I'd say the grapple is nice and feels good but I think that it lacks versatility over all there's alot you can do with it but being unable to grapple barrels and sling them at stuff is a down set

it works if you use the fix

I loved the absolute cheese "Dummy Grenade SP3" which was basically a sweeping machine gun turret that shot exactly at headshot height.

Though my favorite VS from 2 overall is not the Triseed, but the Baylid.
The Bleed without any arms.
Just love the compact, rugged design. Looks like something that would fit easily in my garage.

At least you can still play single player

but being unable to grapple barrels and sling them at stuff is a down set

That woulda been rad. Basically what Just Cause does

I didn't really want to go full just cause with it as the move set doesn't feel as nice in lost planet 2

Well Dragon's Dogma got released on GOG out of nowhere. Maybe capcom will sell it there eventually

Ironic cocksucking is still cocksucking.

They might actually give Lost Planet some attention with the rumors of a new Lost Planet game.

When will hipsters leave this place already?

They really don't seem to like LP2, though. LP1 consistently gets put on sale, yet LP2 hardly ever has its price dropped. Hell, when it got its price dropped for Christmas sales one year, they put it back to normal price halfway through.

Where are people reading these rumors?

Maybe they're just bitter about it not meeting sales expectations.

Capcom "leaks" of dubious quality. You can never know for sure with companies as opaque as Capcom. I know the last TGS showing was fucking disappointing, what with them focusing on merch for their established IPs and RE7.

trying to meme it into reality

LP2 would have been a 10/10 for me if the multiplayer had used the perfectly functional lobby system from LP1 instead of the retarded non-functional matchmaking system they went with, and if it had also had the extra modes from LP1: Colonies like Akrid Hunter. The single player and co-op were fantastic.

Eat shit you corporate whore, I know exactly what you've been up to. You're doing it for free but I still fucking hate you. Try accomplishing something in your life for once instead of latching onto some hack gook, you shit gobbling waste of air.

Literally hipster.

Doom, but Chrono Trigger is a damned close runner-up.

Doom:
>some of the most satisfying weapons to use in an FPS no Super Shotgun, though

Chrono Trigger:

You think we'll ever get to a point where we can have a normal discussion about Nier: Automata without people on both sides of the argument getting fucking autistic over it? I'm pretty tired of seeing threads get derailed over the very mention of a game like Automata.

You're not just "liking" a game, you're touting it as the best thing ever, completely flawless, pushing the envelope of game design, when it's really just a decent action game with an interesting story that's the latest in a series of games with interesting stories.

Hahah how'd it get to this point?

I think you're taking your own personal fee-fees too seriously here.

At least Nier A. Tomato is halfway decent vidya.

Are you fucking serious?

So does op with Lost Planet 2, what the fuck man?
I mean I'm not even fucking shilling it, since you can and should pirate it for a while now.
Are you really mad at people liking games that are also popular among normalfags?

Repeat with every video game that becomes even slightly popular on Holla Forums.

Problem is when instead of legit criticisms all you hear from haters is "CORPORATE COCKSUCKERS".
Tomato has a lot of problems like backtracking, low boss variety, reused enemies, A2 being just a reskin of 2B, bad menu design, lengthy unskippable teleportation animation, some of quests being bullshit time-wasters etc etc.
But all you hear is
Never mind that game runs poorly only for retards who can't into computers.
So no, you're not allowed to like the game if it's new and popular and isn't published by nintendo.

Lad, I made this thread for people to gush about their most favorite games of all time

Literally for people to tout them as the best most perfect games ever.

You don't have to go all autismo about it.

Yeah. Whats your favorite game m8?

Yoko Taro may be a plagiarist.
His sudden burst of inspiration came right after his visit to Holla Forums.
Automata hasn't very much in common with its "prequel".
It may have been far less popular if not for the plagiarized content, look and feel. Several parts appear as if they've been duplicated with no understanding of why they're supposed to be that way.
It's clearly similar enough for people to notice, they're just doing it exclusively in his favor.
Have a gif from 2014. Notice the hair and the B&W color scheme.

I wouldn't be half as infuriated at the situation, if not for the fact that you cucks peddle Automata as some genius auteur's art project made for peanuts, calling it alternative and a whole host of other horse shit. Meanwhile, it was a joint effort between two well known corporations, delivering atrocious quality compared to what it should have been with the staff, time and budget, despite saving substantially on R&D and risk by possibly ripping off a game that actually fits the description you desperately want to slap on it. It would've been okay if you treated it as the run of the mill Plat game it is. No comments on the story because that's subjective, but I don't like it.
By the standards Holla Forums has been holding me up to this entire time, the game is 5/10, that 5 only being for, I guess, working most of the time, and having a few professional, yet unimpressive, assets.
Didn't stop some of you cucks from not only throwing completely false praise at it and glorifying a director who did barely any of the actual work that goes into making a game, but from also trying to memory hole the original.
The port was fucking horrible and full of what I can only call rookie mistakes. How badly do you have to fuck up your GI that it has to be turned off?

Feel free to translate and send a copy of this post to the man himself. Please also ask him to tell his fans to stop harassing me.

inb4 but you copied DMC, no, that's hardly the same for countless reasons.

Are you the lad making the cyber lady sword fighter game on /agdg/?

There are some better shmups out there, but Cho Ren Sha 68K's difficulty is more suitable for me, on top of just being really good. The scoring system relies on this simple trick which is still difficult to pull off consistently. Unlike most shmups with power-up drops, in CRS68k the power-up carriers drop a rotating triangle of the three items you can pick-up, namely a power-up, a bomb, and a shield, but you can hover in the middle to get all three at once, which can be quite tricky to pull-off. The stage design is absolutely excellent, each stage has its own gameplay theme, build-up and new enemies to mix things up. A lot of bosses are also quite innovative for shmups as a whole, like a boss which consists of a rush of massive airships instead of one single enemy, and a boss which generates multiple platforms that shoot bullets at you which you can milk for extra points. The first boss can even be speedkilled by tricking the two orbs into firing their massive blasts into eachother, I actually discovered that one on accident.

The second loop adds suicide bullets which change up the way you play, but the thing here is that you can prevent suicide bullets from spawning if you kill an enemy point-blank, but allowing suicide bullets to spawn also gives you bonus points, so there's a nice sense of risk and reward going on here.

It's quite amazing how the whole game was made by one guy, aside from another guy who did the top-tier soundtrack, all bosses have arcade-level fidelity and details. And on top of that, it's fucking free, and a good beginner shmup to boot. It's only flaw is that the backgrounds are always the same aside from one stage, and having to tap shoot to fire can be a problem for people with carpal tunnel syndrome, though the required tap frequency is forgiving.

Oh shit it's you. Stop being so buttmad if you're not going to finish your game and do it better.

You seem mad.

Don't cement yourself as an autist in the minds of everyone else.

did you even play the first Nier

Are you the dev? I remember you.
Even before tomato was even announced I told you that your shit looks like PSO2 and it's not a bad thing.
It still does and I still look forward to it.
Either way when will you fucking release it or you gonna go full yandev bitch nigger attentionwhore?
What do you care more about - fame or making a fucking good game?
Stop bitching and get to work.

Even if people deem your shit a clone, as long as it's good shit it will be loved and played. And then you can go out of the woods and wiggle your 2014 gifs around.

Is this what paranoid schizophrenia looks like

Yes.

On topic, Super Metroid is as close to a flawless game as possible. Yet it has a few asinine decisions in it, like one-of-a-kind obstacles. (chozo hand, leap after crocomire, etc.)
There's no such thing as a perfect game.

Oh fuck I love me some Bootfighter Windom
Fucking Strike Gundam/Talisker SP3 is my favorite.

Sorry to tell you, but it's your own fault. Yes, Yoko Taro maybe a dick if it's true what you say, but you chose to post your shit online in such early state. Never spread good ideafagging before you're at least in alpha release stage.

That's provably false though, in fact every thing you picked as something "plagiarized" is something that is ported straight from the original Nier
Same layout as original Nier
Same layout as original Nier
Same color scheme as original Nier, white hair and flat blacks and dark greys outfits.
Maybe you should stop plagiarizing original Nier before you start accusing the sequel to it of plagiarizing you.

I just want tarofags to fuck off, that's all. probably just that one guy
I also want proper attribution for my work, instead of it being called a clone when it's more likely to be the other way, if anything. Having the right to your own accomplishments is quite important.
Sorry for attention whoring, but this needed to be said at least once, and being polite did not work.

So basically you're saying that you hate a game because you think the Jap that directed it ripped you off based on schizo-tier evidence. Ever consider that you might not be in a proper state of mind?

Then finish your shit and publish it.
Nobody gives a shit about things that haven't been published.

I really like Thief: Deadly Shadows. It's a great, short game. Good atmosphere, lots of shit to steal. Sure, might not be as big as The Dark Project or Metal Age, but it's still my favourite pc game. I also love The World End With You for the Nintendo DS. My mom got it for me by random chance. I was hooked from stage one. Music is fun, gameplay made full use of the touch and dual screen, the concept was interesting, and Shu Minamimoto, aka "Pi-face", is just the coolest villain ever. I loved it then, and I love it now. Sometimes, I'm glad I'll never get a sequel. TWEWY will always be regarded as a great game, and no sequels can taint it. And, well… Borderlands 1 is fun. I don't know why I like it so much, but I do, and I refuse to change that. Yes, it has flaws and isn't perfect in any way, but the gameplay was just fun. Explosive revolvers will always be my favourite weapon. And Bloodwing was a fun power. I'll try Brick once my pc is up and running again. But fuck Anthony Burch. I hope he dies while listening to his sister in that porngame she's in. There's a few pokemon spin-offs I like as well, Mystery dungeon 1 and 2 come to mind. Great concepts, too bad the 3d versions cucked out and had shit stories.

Tarocucks are pretty much just toddposters except not funny.

Indies can't afford to keep secrets.

Just make your game m8. Don't worry about what other people say. If it's as good as you can make it, hopefully it will stand on its own merits.

You think this Taro guy gave a shit that people thought he was ripping off Devil May Cry? Hell no. He probably said "Dude I just want to make a neat fighting game with a girl that has a huge butt" And then he did. And it was neat.

And I'm sure your game will be neat too. You just gotta fucking finish it first lad. That's the important thing here. No one cares about a game unless they can actually fucking play it.

lmao Ashley Burch was in a porn game?

When game embraces clone status, revels in it and goes into the wilds where original never dared it becomes truly its own great fucking thing, sometimes far surpassing the original.
Can you play as crystal magic swordsman loli mech in Gundam VS? Thought so.
And then there is autistic chinese modding scene that has literally everything.

I'm a huge taro fag, what are you gonna do about it? Make something that stands on its own regardless of how people perceive it.
Your game WILL be called clone either way, so you gotta deal with it and still make it good.

Nigger, Near:Onomatopoeia was well into development long before Yoko ever even posted here.

The single biggest threat to getting acknowledgement for your work isn't another robutt existing or the quality level of your game (which is good), it's your own spergouts. I want to believe you can finish a rad game but not with these Yandev-tier spergfits.

Fuck you for reminding me about that.
I'm still waiting for an anime girl murder simulator.

...

The game's quality makes this statement dubious, but okay.

Yeah I had first tried modding it back when it was a freeware download and only had the 3 original loli mechs (Wizard, Sword, and Artillery)

Now I don't even dare because of the fucking rabbit hole I'm about to find.

This is very good advice. Don't be a sperg like Yandev.

On another tangent, Steambot Chronicles is one of the comfiest mech games to ever exist.
First playthrough I missed a lot of cool shit like the gatling gun and samurai weapons because I just went dick first into continuing the story without doing side jobs.

By my second playthrough I had unlocked everything including the OP Support Engine and rekt shit with my Long Range Cannon and Excalibur on jet powered human legs

that I then used to carry cargo for money

Of course I do m8 but I meant one that didn't require a fucking power rangers voltron transformation combination move.

Also

What are you, gay?

Nah m8 I just want more robots in a game that's already been made, played, and abandoned

Of course you can, i've been on halfchan vg /agdg/ since about it came to be, and never posted or discussed my games beyond a certain degree of information. You don't have to post your entire game premise. I know how much you posted, you basically used halfchan as a progress blog, which was a mistake. I know that building a fanbase as indie is hard as hell, and getting feedback is important, however the earliest you should start building your fanbase, get feedback, and blog for dickwaving, is when you know you could release your game within the next three months, so pajeets and chinks won't have enough time to steal your shit, because they will. Although this time it was a jap.

No, not really. But I added the mp4 that someone posted in a webm thread. Sure as fuck sounds like her. Game's called SnowDaze, some patreon porn game. Haven't played it. I thought it was Ashley's voice, but turns out I was very, very wrong. Spoiler for lewds, sage for misleading off-topic.

But seriously though, that would remove the only thing that made that mech worth it
If you're gonna have a big awesome secret combinable multiplayer robutt, it would kinda defeat the purpose to have another one that does the same thing but without all the cool setup

Which also raises a good question, aside from splitting up movement and firing, how else could a two-player mech work?

...

Nothing quite like it.

There's not concrete proof that neir copied his game, but shitting on him for even suggesting it is just blind cocksucking. There is a line between full on spergouts and trying to make a case.

You know there are different development stages right? The planing stage and the project pitching stage probably started shortly after Drakengard 3's release, plus negotiating with platinum to develop. The game the actual game development didn't start up until late 2014/or more likely early 2015.

IREM not Atlus. Atlus had nothing to do with the game outside the localization.
Also the original devs of the game plan to buy the IP from IREM if their next game gets them enough money.

My point is most people will call his game Tomato's clone either way. If he's too emotionally unstable to deal with, he's better be off doing something else.
Or man up and stop bitching about it.
