The kicker is that people still can't reliably connect to instance servers, which means 90006 error back to title, wait in queue, 90002 error until the game zones you out of the instance, queue again, 90002 error, etc. I can't even finish the HW story because it requires a single player instance fight.

If you wanna go fast Ninja is your guy for the next few reasons.

This buff by default already gives you skill speed making your gcd faster than most jobs.
You need to make word combinations with your 3 mudras which will then result in a skill. These are 1sec gcd and need to be pressed fast and fluent inbetween your regular weapon skills.
This is like a naruto shadowjump ability? You can be so fast and clutch with this ability I have saved tons of fights and myself with it.

Any reason why NIN and DRG doesn't shared gear with any jobs? such a pain to get gear for it.

Don't know about NIN. But lorewise, DRG has their own class of specialised light plate armour with small sharp curved blades and spikes for anti-dragon combat (to avoid getting grabbed, bited by dragons).

You have a lot of pain coming because you can't complete your MQS if you don't kill Shinryu and that fight is 3 times Susano. This is where the real chokepoint is. I oneshotted every fight but needed 6 different parties for Shinryu.

I'm expecting dualcast to somehow not apply to Raise at all. All you have to do is heal yourself once, and then you get an instant rez.

I've only done it twice with two characters, but the first try was usually a wipe as the balls murdered the party. The second try was usually pretty flawless. Try and get FC players to help you or try pf if you don't have any.

I doubt it unless they feel like killing pvp again. The xp is the only thing keeping most players in there. Having said that, if you have the 100% bonus xp up to 60 then do potd until 60 for what looks to be the best xp. After 60, the bonus drops to 50 and it looked like pvp becomes the best xp at that point.

That's because the dps queues are such shit that a lot of players are going back to tanks and healers. This is just my experience though.

DPS queues for me today were around 20-30 minutes, which was the same case back when ARR came out.

Mine have been over 40 lately. It was common for dps in arr after nin, but it used to 15-20 in hw.

I remember it changed really drastically once party finder went cross-realm. I was on Gilgamesh and it was almost longer as a tank than as a DPS to find groups. Now it's back to normal.

I wouldn't this normal at all though. I can't think of a single instance when Tank queues were ever longer than dps queues outside of the 24-mans. I do remember seeing dps in need at times though, so it may have just been very rare or near the beginning of the expac.

Not main, but WARs need a TP adjustment. BRD in pvp needs repelling shot changed to just be disengage, the hunter ability from WoW.

I want to make a case for the loot bags that WoW added to LFD back in Wrath. Granted, tanking was a lot more dynamic and fun, and tanks had much, much more variety then than XIV has now. But the system was such a success that the class in need was healers about 40-50% of the time. It actually just about solved the tank shortage and made it a pretty even split between needing tanks and healers.

The sad fact is Japs will never learn. They might be book smart but they are not clever. WoW stole some of its best ideas from the competition and ruled the genre for a decade, which is an eternity in video game time. Square is so obnoxiously incompetent on a technical level (not their art/music, which have always been incredible) that they wouldn't even know where to start siphoning off whatever good concepts are left in the dumpster fire that is now World of Warcraft.

In WoW you can just play feral/prot for easy leveling and then respec to retribution or whatever you like. That's a big contributor as well which isn't possible in ffxiv a tank is a tank forever.

Lilies need to be able proc Medica or Regen ticks and or Stone spells. Cure 1 and 2 are the fucking lowest spells on the priority list on what I'm using 90% of the time in trials and savage and it seems very odd to me seeing how much WHM has moved to healing much more with OGCs to them to only proc off 2 spells.
Confession stacks need to have there proc rate increased and the stacks to last way longer then they currently do and also gain stacks in something like Cure 3 or something, might give use to a more situational spell. Otherwise its a tank healing spell at best.
Divine Benis needs to be doubled to 30% instead of 15%, so useless otherwise and Stoneskin did the exact same thing but wasn't locked to shitty lilies, Stoneskin 2 should cum back as an off global on a longass CD.
Healer xroll in general needs to be looked at, whats the point in it when you are locked to taking Protect, Esuna, Not Shroud of Saints, Not Divine Veil and Swiftcast regardless of class. Break might as well not be there, Surecast is still shit and Cleric Stance is so weak its not even worth looking at. E4E should have stayed SCH only and Rescue should be been WHM onry.
Most of the 68 traits in general need to be buffed to not be utter dog shit.

And for SCH, needs to be reworked entirely and to go back to the magic it was in 3.0. They got utterly gutted in SB and WHM are taking the salt spotlight so it aint getting fixed for a while. Fey Union is shit, Excog isn't even worth it and Chain Strat I think is a tiny boost at best.

AST needs to have Balance dropped off the face of the earth and have their other cards buffed, how AST got to keep unnerfed Balance while all other ridewides have been nerfed to the floor is beyond me. Guess they don't want to nerf it because ASS had a rocky start in 3.0.

I really want them to steal Mythics from WoW more then anything, seems like it would be a perfect fit XIV and would give people more harder content with hardly any extra effort. Make mobs hit harder or spit out buffs and debuffs, add a few more mechanics to bosses and your pretty much done. Casuals can ingore it or try for fun, people who want more midcore content are happy and speedrunners can do their autism for it.

I ran Haukke Manor, not even Hard HM just regular fucking HM, and I got paired with a Paladin.

The PLD takes 5 minutes to even fucking start moving, so the rest of the us just sit there waiting. When they finally get around to getting their fucking ass paying attention and start moving, they do it in jerks and fits, almost like they're getting constant lag spikes. PLD freezes in front of the first room for 3 full fucking minutes, I kid you not, until the goddamned Ninja finally gets fed up and pulls the group in the room himself. PLD does NOTHING but auto-attack the entire fucking fight.

What. The. Fuck. But okay, fine, whatever. I say, "It's fine. You're PLD, all you really need to do is spam Flash a few times at the beginning of each fight." And then the PLD runs up to the next group of enemies, right in the middle, uses Flash once, and then just auto-attacks the entire fucking fight again. NInja pulls aggro and dies. Scholar pulls aggro and dies. By spamming every single fucking potion and cooldown I have I manage to keep alive until the Scholar respawns and gets back, and then I tank the fight as LNC for another 3 minutes because the fucking PLD, before he died, managed to somehow pull two of those wandering fucking bitches before he died and took his sweet time getting back.

I'm not sure if it's because they were really good players, but I've noticed a lot of Plds in df that can keep themselves up for a very long time with very little input from me as noct Ast. I don't remember the last time I partied with a War, so I can't really compare them. I've seen a few Drks here and there and they were pretty good, but not as noticeable as the Plds.

Also, based on the Flare nerf and the fact that both Flare and Holy were nerfed with HW, I believe that Holy was going to get a similar nerf before all of the backlash hit. It's just an assumption, but it is odd that Flare got hammered and Holy didn't.

My problem with lilies is that they are just kinda there, they don't feel like they are part of WHM kit at all. Same with fairy gauge, just feels tacked on because they couldn't think of anything else to give SCH. Maybe if Lilies proc'd of shit that isn't Cure 1 and 2 and did more then just reduce timer on some cooldowns it might be different but right now they need a serious rework because they are a total design flaw. Same with SCH gauge, 480 pot tick with a huge wind up time and such short range and nothing else does nothing for SCH kit, its another Dissipation at best.

Proxy nerfos ontop of really unneeded nerfs. AST was really the only healer out of the 3 to come out better off and got more buffs they didn't really need.

They have leagues more sustain than either of the other 2 tanks now, which is the difference between needing a babysitter healer or actually letting them DPS.
Warrior for example is so unbelievably squishy right now healers barely have time to throw DoTs up.

I just had a War tank in the 63-64 dungeon. They were a bit squishy, but not too much. They probably are the squishiest tank right now though.

Blm feels really clunky to me. The timers on a lot of classes are fucked atm too. You can't use Enochian until an Astral is up, which cuts down on the initial fire rotation and my starter. Flare got nerfed to shit, but luckily we have a Flare replacement at 70 that hits much harder.

The key to black mage is positioning well. If you position yourself in a place where aoe is least likely to affect you then you'll be fine, and with the new leylines port what aoe does land on you you can run out and port back before stacks drop.
The changes make it like a hybrid between 2.0 and 3.0 where you are more mobile, by using triple to cast on the move and tele back to leylines while still incentivizing turret mode.

Start in Ice from now on. Umbral hearts trait at means flare is buffed, as every single time you go to fire you can cast 2 minimum, 3 if convert is up, and 4 if you have an ether strong enough.

It was working fine for me earlier, but it's gone to hell in the last few hours. I did get a 90k earlier before the current descent into hell, but it was pretty stable.

It doesn't seem worth it to me anymore. That change from -50% to -70% was just too much. That's a shit ton of lost damage that'll we'll never get back unless the dev responsible gets gone forever. Lucily, we have that new Flare at 70. I'll probably just stick to Sam or Rdm for dps. Yoshi has lost his damn mind with most of the kob changes. To be honest, I have little hope for the raids at this point either. I'll keep an eye out for them, but I'm already starting off disappointed in them.

Didn't it scale very well at the end of HW to the point that it was worth more than 10%? From what I remember, Foresight scales with your p.def level. By the end of hw, it was a really good cd in comparison to what it was at the beginning of hw. It wasn't sentinel, but it was something.

Almost every WoW launch gets DDoSed and FF14 just passed WoW in subs so I wouldn't be surprised to be honest.

yeah, it scaled well. 20% more defense when you're base is 1200 makes a big difference, as opposed to when you're level 20 and have a whopping 200 at best. the main issue with foresight is that it was only physical defense, and so many bosses in the end game of HW were magic-based. A12 for example was almost purely magical; the only physical thing was his normal auto attack, the little machine guns he would use on the tank. divine spear, mega holy, punishing flame, all of his raid aoes, they were all magical. drk shined against alexander for this reason.

foresight was reasonably useful on the adds, but junk on the boss itself. same for A11 and large chunks of midas and gordias, not to mention the primal fights.

DRK isn't that bad. Just use DA on SE, use delirium, spend blood on BN and BS. Actually, for good mp generation you have to stance dance when tanking, which is fun for me. The only thing is that BN is broken.

Go for it. Take it into potd solo if you want. Start at level 60 and you should be able to play around with it as Thm. The basic rotation will be the same except you'll be missing Fire 4, which may or may not change things for you. It's hard to say with the newest changes.

I've seen GMs punish people for being really passive aggressive before. That's not going to work in ff14 if the other person feels like telling.

Maybe I'm wrong about subs, but I know for certain with active players FF14 has passed it.

ARR was super bloated with fetch quests too. HW was pretty nice and SB is looking much better.

I'm just about at level 67 now, Stormblood took me completely by surprise. I was expecting Heavensward 2.0 and lots of disappointment, but I've been pleasantly surprised most of the way through. The maps and enemies are more interesting, and I like how they included some elements of gameplay that deviate from the standard "hit the thing until the health bar goes down," and the duties I've unlocked so far have easily been top tier.

The dungeons are a nice change from the grey of hw.

The beginning was fine as it showed you as either a 1.0 adventurer returned or some faggot fresh off the boat. A few changes to quest could have been made to the pre-50 questline and it would have been much better. The post-50 arr questline needs a lot of work though. It was fine when it first came out as there was little else to do, but it's a real slog now.

As someone who has finished the story and without spoiling anything you don't already know about, I agree with this ranking. The second primal is brought up and resolved rather quickly, not too unlike Ravana back in HW, and the Azim Steppe was meh but everything else is pretty stellar in my opinion.

Outside of the Raubahn Extreme bullshit which didn't hit European servers too badly I've rather enjoyed this expansion thus far.

Prior to entering the Ruby Sea, the cutscene mentioned that there were many empires out there besides Garlemald. I wonder if we'll ever see any of them in action? Wasn't that a huge plot point in ff12 as well? I can see them setting up something similar with sb going into the future. It would be a way to return hamlet defenses back to the game in a new form.

The culture of each tribe is certainly interesting, but I didn't think any of the named characters for those tribes bar maybe Magnai really stood out and the moment you leave the area, said characters appear effectively once more without saying anything of worth and that's it, making one question why they were built up in the first place; even smaller side characters like the Cynical Youth did more for the plot. And I agree, Hien surprised me with how well he was written despite following the standard leader characteristics. I also think Zenos Yae Galvus was pretty good, but that may just be me.

Pipin Extreme and to a lesser extent Susano didn't really hit European servers too hard or at least Cerberus. Here's hoping the US servers get their shit together.

Most of the good players have already past this leaving behind the shitters to fail at it repeatedly. Though to be fair, the fight does throw a lot of stuff at you at once which could lead to one or two wipes the first time.

Shiva in Europe wasn't hit by the connection issues as hard either, we had a lot of congestion and queues but never disconnections.

The Raubahn boss was there and at some point the story cutscenes weren't loading as quickly as they should, but otherwise the game was working fine.

New players or self-important scrubs like Starcade are left at that part of the game.

There is even a quest now where you literally become a merchant. It's in the gipsy plains area in the first market town. You tend to a stall and you need to make 4 successful sales in a row paying attention to what the customers tell you.

This would have more credibility if "hackers did it" wasn't the hot new excuse.

Zenos is the best villain they've had in ff14 so far in my opinion.

i've talked with a pair of gm's over my time in FF14 both from reporting people who were just fucking terrible (for whatever reason, but always objectively so. like, completely unable to function appropriately-style terrible) and as long as you're honest and have reason then it's always gone well with me.

for example, i had an AV recently with a sprout bard and pld who were unknown to me at the time paired together. they both had a lot of difficulty on the second boss, the one without any aoe indicators, and after the first wipe, where i watched them both eat literally every aoe they could eat, i chimed in with some knowledge, breaking down the four aoe's that the boss does and how to avoid them.

long story short, the pld called me an elitist, the brd backed him up and said how the pld and he played wasn't my concern aka typical wowfugee shitter excuse to which i responded "when we wipe because im oom from healing you through all the aoe it becomes my problem." then a kick option came up for the pld the blm had gotten tired of the pld's inability to properly hold aggro and once the pld got kicked the brd went apeshit and tried to MPK us. we kicked him too, duty found a mch the brd wasn't trying to fill slots and then 3-manned the rest of the instance. i sent in a report detailing what happened, they checked the logs, and after a brief one-on-one with a gm, i haven't heard anything about the incident since. and i wasn't exactly kind to the pld or the brd, at least not after the gloves came off. sure, i started nicely, but once they began calling me elitist because i had the gall to try and help them learn i said fuck it and let them both have it, up to and including cuss words and liberal use of the words "idiot" and "stupidity."

in other words, harsh, but not Holla Forums-tier sperging about frogs or niggers or something. be human. try to help out, in a positive way, and if they shove it in your face and tell you to shut up, stand up for yourself and your job without resorting to chan-level insults a task easier said than done, since sometimes you just want to call these people the faggots that they are

but at the time it was released, ARR was a god-send compared to what 1.0 was. i guess that's the important thing; they've managed to take the story and improve upon it/keep it interesting through four distinct "books."

although from what i remember, i believe there are only five great continents? Othard, Eorzea, Meracydia, Ilsabard (i think?) and a fifth, un-named one, which i think is where the original Sharlayan's hail from. so there's plenty of space for stuff to be hiding yet. plus we could always just end up going to another shard-world eventually. or the moon

I've had some really bizarre interactions with people like that. I was doing levelling duty once and the tank needed like one heal per mob pack, so I just stayed in cleric stance. Then this guy started this long tirade about how lazy I was not stance dancing. I said the tank barely needed healing and then he started ranting that he would heal instead.

Don't worry, to fix that problem from people not understanding how stance dancing works. Cleric stance is now for all purposes removed from the game

It has great character customization. If you don't want to play a lot play the game for free as a trial until level 35, then only buy the base game and a lite sub that allows you to only play one character, but it's cheaper than the standard sub. After finishing the base game, purchase the next expac and so on.

nigga what? have you seen the buffs bard can do now? 15% max hp for the whole raid? 10% less phys or mag dmg for everyone? on top of constant 3% crit boost, and a 3% dmg reduction on the enemy that stacks with other debuff mechanics. then there's the excellent selection of cross role skills that ranged dps have, stuff that actually makes you think and choose because a lot of it is just solid. 20% single target physical damage reduction buff, raid-wide mp/tp refreshes, low CD silence and stun. brd has access to more utility now than it has since 1.0.

That mitigation is near useless and you know it, raidwide mitigation has basically no point except if your healer has decided that he's playing SCH as opposed to a real healer. The big spot mitigation has a place from other roles and didn't need to be hamfisted into a 3 minute CD for a whopping 15 whole seconds.

The only reason I'm in this FC is because it was a personal FC between a couple of in game friends and one just met me in idleshire and asked if I wanted to join it after doing some runs. I didn't mind since the leader at the time seemed to have a level head on his shoulders but he eventually fucked off the FC ownership grandfathered to me. I like a lot of the members since they are new as fuck and receptive to advice but there are two "fuck story, grind to 70 and bitch about there's nothing to do" sort of people in the FC that the missing leader's friends invited. Before there was absolutely no one one so I had a free FC with mansion sized house and kept that shit up. Thanks to SB the FC is getting more active but it's fucking grating when the openly gay casual elitist is just giving wrong advice and telling the new players that to skip the story and focus on getting to 70 on potd so they can help him farm susano ex. but holy fuck the class feels better. thou heat managing is a pain in the ass and if you overheat and don't have flame or stablizer your gonna do shit dmg for a while since you have nothing that can build up faster then 10 per a weapon skill.
if they don't buff mch before the first set of raids come out consider mch basically a complete dead class at this point its already the least played class in the game playing mch for most part of hw was fucking the worst.
