What are you currently playing anons? What do you think of it? Would you recommend it to other anons?
Give anons something to play so that they can make up for the lost time they spent watching E3. Provide links if you wish.

Basically a really good Simon's Quest fangame, with some metroidvania elements. The music is superb, having both castlevania remixes and original music, the level design is pretty nice and it has it's fair share of really fun platforming challenges, it's fairly difficult with save points being far and few in between, and the thing I like the most about it is that there is no leveling up, rather you level up by finding weapons and armor either by buying it or finding it in secret locations. There are also upgrades and an aura mechanic(basically just magic), it's a very enjoyable game and I personally believe it's a worthy entry in the CV games. It also features a decent amount of VA, including Robert Belgrade as Alucard. My only two issues with it is that the animation is kind of weak, and getting money is a pain in the ass.

kind of roguelite shump, similar to Binding of Isaac or Gungeon. What I like in this game is that the controls are unbelievably tight, almost shump tier. I think it's worth a shot.

Love it.

I'm interested in the Mechwarrior games. Should I play them in release order or is there a specific one that's considered the go to?

i've been playing Syrian Warfare, unfortunately, the game is really buggy. It's got potential though.

I wanted to play that, but my PC is shit tier and didn't run it well. Is it better or on par with World in Conflict?

This ruins the immersion

I wanted to try a crpg since it was a genre I've never experienced growing up with consoles.
In the first mission you need to get back 4 items your faction lost and conveniently the town also has exactly 4 districts! Each district has their things going on but it's nothing amazing.
Combat feels pretty shitty because I took a druid maybe? Most of the spells I get are buffs so It's basically me buffing my bear + henchman and then wank in the corner until they are done autoattacking things to death.

It's total RNG bullshit.
I love it
Send help

Rolling through town shooting shit is fun, then you get to the higher difficulties and roll through town shooting cooler shit.
I had a good time.

worse imo

Take this shit elsewhere.

Brigador's breddy gud, I just wish it had more to the freelancer mode.

Shame.

Elsewhere, like the video games board?

protip: the vanilla campaign sucks; try the expansions starting with SoU

Nothing at the moment, but I'm thinking I might start up Tsugunai in a bit if I don't get busy with other stuff. Premise of it sounded rather neat.

.>>12809003

Terraria.

Nigger how did you fuck that up?

No, no, no; play SoU+HoTU, they're meant to be played back to back and provide a much better experience.

fuck off goon

One last bump.

Saw SS2 in a share thread recently, downloaded it because it's classic and beat it. Damn good, but i still prefer Bioshock because i don't like the spaceship horror setting. Need to get SS1 whenever i give enough of a shit to hunt it down.

I've never been keen on socialization either, but this is, at least, video games and not a FFFFFRIDAY NIIIIGHT thread where people just post fucking status updates.

Do tell me user, pray tell where is this mythical video game board.

Oh shit, I didn't know that The Lacarde Chronicles 2 came out, gotta get on with that shit.
Thanks for the reminder OP

I don't normally buy shovelware Unless it's tamsoft but this game has decent combat and it allows you to solo, so I'm having fun with that. Story is what you'd expect if you know this franchise and it's spinoffs
Pirate if bored

It's fucking fun. Castlevania boss rush where you have every character at what would be them at the end of an 100% run.
Bonus points for the best fucking Dracula fight, nigga is fucking hard. Also it's free

It's fun, don't buy it though, remake just makes the main cast look nicer and allows you to skip the terrible war missions, which is 50% of the fucking game. Seven is best girl
Emulate it

Make sure to also try out some of the fan made content on the vault, I've yet to finish Hordes of the Underdark, but the ones I've played were much better than OC and SoU.
Stuff like Aielund Saga, Darkness Over Daggerford, and Swordflight (though Swordflight isn't complete yet) are pretty darn good.
Especially Aielund since you go on a big ass adventure, like levels 1 to 36-37.

harvest moon tale of two towns
it's shit, there's deteriorating social levels so you have to deal with upkeep, you can at max upgrade one thing per season, you get the seed maker way way late so half the festivals are bullshit already, the stores close when it's raining, your farm is so limited in what you can do, and if you gun for fixing the tunnel for convenience sake it replaces the options that upgrade your farm. The waifus are shit too.
But I like seeing the pets run out and handle the livestock and Cam keeps his hours regular. it's a tie between Cam, Dirk, and Mikhail and at this rate it's first come first serve, I want this to end

I'm burned out I feel. The only game that I find mildly interesting is Endless Space 2.

I am currently playing 7th Dragon III: Code VFD. Pretty fun so far. Duelist a best.

I've been playing Super Robot Wars V with some muramasa on the side
SRW is a lot of fun but easier than I expected, maybe I'm still early in the game. Vangray, Crossbone and the urds carrying the squad

I've been playing this thing recently. It's basically a sidescrolling "metroidvania"-style roguelite with permanent unlocks that mostly add variety (e.g. different items that can spawn during the run).

It allows you to go fast if you're into that and can do it without taking a hit, and actually rewards you if you reach certain points fast enough. But you can also be careful and explore the levels thoroughly for all the items and money.

No. I would recommend you remember it and give it a try when it comes out of jew access, because right now many things are clearly not very well balanced. It'll probably end up frustrating you because you may end up in situations that just aren't fair and possibly can't be dealt with without luck. A lot of things aren't consistent which makes it hard to predict how things go, and if a freezing debuff randomly decides not to work when you relied on it working, that can instantly end your 40 minute run. If you go careful instead of fast, you can avoid most bad situations, at least until the second boss.

If the flawed parts get fixed, it could well be my new favorite game.

If you call it playing.
I initially didn't really care about this game, I only got it because my niece wanted to play it. She's been playing it everyday, borrowing my 3DS and returning it later on so one day, I decided to try it out and see what's fun with it.

I found it pretty silly and comfy at times. Now my nieces once got angry at me for spending all the money on my character.. Heh.

I pirated this a while back and actually really enjoyed it for a bit. Then it got a bit grindy with the leveling up all the items, which you only find through rng. The level up scroll drops are pure rng too so you can go for a run and not get any level up scrolls if you are really unlucky then you do basically no damage to enemies which is shite.
if that get fixed then i agree i would love thee game.

speaking of metroidvania's. I heard some of the Spider-man ds games were pretty good but I figured I'd see if anyone here knew which ones they were?

The Keep on 3DS
I adored Orc and Elves because I like old-school fantasy, and The Keep satisfy my tastes. It's very fun, but one thing I don't like is the fact that you can't go back to previous levels, it makes exploring the dungeon more shallow than fore example Ultima Underworld.
It's much better than Grimrock is every aspect. It also has real time combat, but instead of stupid waiting till your weapon refreshes, you have stamina bar.
Right now I'm struggling with heavy armored foes, it's very hard to break their defence, and I didn't get any spells yet.
I forgot to mention that you have only one hero instead of a party, which is a plus.

Pretty good so far. Kicking my butt in some places, but I'm trying to git gud.

Got these in my backlog and I really need to play them is Falcom is bringing more games to the PC.

I've been playing caligula.
The graphics aren't very good for the most part, there should be more enemy variety but the story is interesting (even though it's bit confusing) and the combat system is very fun.
I love the remixes of the level's theme that play during boss fights.
Just another reminder not to trust critics and just play what I think is interesting.

2/3 of those games were made by people who go to 4chan/agdg/

Decided to wallow in nostalgia and play NFS Underground. I don't think I've played it since 2004 or so. Physics without stability assist are surprisingly good.

Great game, but I can't get fully absorbed by it for some reason. Keep quitting and restarting before 100 years are gone. Miriam is surprisingly fun to play though.

Bumpan
I'm also curious about the Dawn of War games. ARe they any good as singleplayer RTSs?

Currently finishing up Dishonored 2. Pretty great game though it almost gets ruined by all the sjw/feminism/diversity shit that magically entered the universe since the first game.

Thankfully you can play as Corvo and end the scourge of witches by rape-killing them all.

I'm spooked now.

Holly fuck thanks for the DL OP, ive been looking for it for quite some time now
Thank you

anyone?

which castlevania is that?

Pretty fun so far, im trying Mosin + bayonet only route now, also trying to use spy merc for the first time
Its meh, but i need something to kill the time
Fun as always, i have been trying Fatherland mod as Italy

This is Lecarde Chronicles 2, the game I mentioned and linked in the OP.

it actually looks pretty nice, might have to give it a go.

I'll shill this game in every thread that gives me an opportunity to. Fun stuff, although this achievement for beating hardmode with the starting weapon is an absolute bitch.

No, they all have the exact same play style as Spider-Man 3 and Battle for New York on GBA.

Man I remember the days of browser games and going to armorgames just to play the latest indie. Armed with wings was one of my favourites, along with everything conartist games made.
And the tower defense games too, oh fuck I'm getting some soul-crushing nostalgia.
I wonder if I can go back.

This is a full expansion made by just the one guy, same one that made the flash games. It's got a lot of content and it's actually really fun, not just a greedy attempt to cash in.

You really can't. It's just like going back to runescape, you realize you simply can't go back to it. Not to mention lots of flash games now are pretty mediocre compared to old.

Can somebody give me something fun and non-awkward to play?
Every game I've tried recently has felt clunky, obtuse and hard to get into.

Got a specific genre in mind?

I want to try Quake Champions actually. But on the other hand I don't want to try it because I know how incompetent Bethesda is

Anything that isn't an turn-based, an RPG or a generic action game.

Give monolith a shot, I've linked it in the OP. It's very simple and very plug and play, shoot enemies and dodge their bullets, controls are super tight and I wouldn't call anything regarding it clunky. It's also really fun, especially the later bosses.

The game gives an error when opened then closes.
Thanks anyway.

I just tried it, it's alrightexcept for that shitty dodge meme developers seem to love for some reason ever since dark souls was released. Feels out of place in a shmup. The game also tries a little too hard to be "retro". Reminds me of Tyrian.

Not really playing anything right now
Was playing Fire Emblem Echoes, but I got to the last dungeon before I realized there was a bunch of DLC, so then I started grinding to try and get the endgame classes which burned me out real fucking fast

I've got plenty of shit on my backlog, but I'm at a point where I feel like I'm wasting my time if I'm playing a game and not also watching anime or listening to something at the same time, so that really limits the kinds of games I can play

lel, also have I mentioned the music for this game is really gud

I barely used the dodge truth be told. In fact it's very dangerous to use because it doesn't give you Iframes and more often than not puts you in a bad spot.

Run smartsteamemu, not monolith.exe or whatever it's called.

fuck

No idea why it glitches out at the end.

oh hey it didn't glitch out, neat.

The basic campaign is boring, play the add ons or any of the modules, they are better.
If combat feels shitty, you should try changing the class and definitively learn how to build you character/understand the system. Your buff spell druid is merely the standard configuration of that class, you can change that up during character generation.

Bumpan.
If I were given a choice between Crossout, Dota2, World of Tanks, Warthunder Ground Forces or Armored Warfare, which would I choose?
Death is not an option and I'm really bored and I want a decent multiplayer game that's also free to sink in an hour or two daily

I want a new dodonpachi

Even if I still hadn't finished the main campaign (I gave up in the second-to-last level of the game), there are always fan missions to try out and the majority of them are pretty decent, too.

I'm surprised the devs are still working on this game. They must know their fans are waiting for all the DLC heroes to be released.

There are other games I should bother to play in my library but I'll get to them later. I hope.

Pretty good for a some kind of almost stealth-centered Fallout in a underground metro. And the ocassional Psi powers.

Luck mode as my 2nd playtrought. Trying to fuck around with the high luck. The only thing which keeps this one from being the best (besides that engrish localization) is Aria of Sorrow existence.

You shilled the right game today, OP

I've just finished it with the best ending. My impressions remain the same. The music is great, the level design of the final castle is downright amazing, the difficulty is just right, the upgrades are great(besides a levitation ability that's useless except for one part in the game), the final boss was really fucking good, and all the little puzzles here and there really worked in the game's favor.
My only problems are again, money is a pain in the ass to get, the map screen and menu screen take a while to load and unload. Also the map could use a note system considering the red mist rooms, the rooms with cursed mirrors, the rooms for the skull emblem and the rooms with puzzles.
The ending had a sequel hook so I guess Lecarde Chronicles 3 in ~2022.

I will say this, it's an utter shame that as a lecarde you're using swords and not spears.

tfw this thread is eternally dead
I've heard a lot of praise for Hollow Knight as a metroidvania, but I haven't really read anything about why it's good.
So uh, why is Hollow Knight considered good?

Its a good metroidvania. If you don't know what "metroidvania" Is then it won't help you any to explain why its good at being one. I could give you the raw bits but it still wouldn't make you understand whats so good about it.

So level design is good, upgrades are good and there's a seperate secret endgame dungeon?

I finally got my hands on a Sega Saturn copy of 街 〜運命の交差点〜 and and almost finished with all the scenarios for the first day. Holy shit, this is one of the best games I have ever played. The characters, the writing, the zapping system, how also each decision effext the outcome and progress of the other characters, wow I think I found the perfect game; a true masterpiece. Once I finish this I'm definitely going to get the second game.

New Vegas with Realistic Headshots mod and various tweaks that dont make a big gameplay difference like Populated Casinos.
The way the game plays is fundamentally changed though. cover is super important because a stray bullet can kill you now.
Melee weapons are useless which I'm fine with because I never use them anyways.
Thw combat is a lot faster but harder now which is something I can appreciate given the setting.

Still working on the final case to Spirit of Justice. I think it's all right so far, the cases can be hit or miss. 6-2 is by far my favorite still. I feel it's better than Dual Destinies by a long shot, and it's worth playing for anyone who's into Ace Attorney.

I'm stuck with an ancient laptop that won't even run Neverwinter Nights which I planned to play on it. What did run was Phobia III: Edge of Humanity. It's a top down shooter that's basically Starship Troopers but more grimdark. Intense at fuck at times and it doesn't cuddle the player in any way. I doubt it will work on any modern machines but if you happen to have an old XP era machine around its really fun. The cinematic are great for a freeware title from 2002.
