MONSTER HUNTER WORLD COMING TO PC

MONSTER HUNTER WORLD COMING TO PC
It'll probably be 2020
Is this a new MMO or a proper monster hunter?
It's Proper
I don't give a fuck nigga, I'll wait if it means not paying the Sony jews money to play online
I'm guessing its an open world MH. Capcom already have MH MMO which is popular in japan.
==BUT WILL IT HAVE DINOSSAURS RIDING OTHER DINOSSAURS?=
Open world casual garbage.
Is this going to be another Dragon's Dogma, where a game/series comes to PC and it turns out to be completely overhyped?
Duplicate thread.
Everyone is discussing it in /mhg/.
In contrast with MHXX which is just casual garbage?
How many dicks do you suck daily?
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
???
No, I'm saying that DD was overhyped due to consoles.
When it came the PC, its mediocrity was revealed.
I still enjoyed it though, it just wasn't nearly as good as Holla Forums would have you believe.
Yep, no more hub world bullshit. You can do actual hunting and exploration
It looks like it has scripted events when getting on top of the raptor guys.
Butthurt Nintoddler detected
PC here. Never tried MonHun.
What is gameplay like?
What makes Monster Hunter?
Is it fun?
I wish there was another dragons dogma. I'm surprise they didn't show anything about the ps4 port of DD, now that I think about it.
Its basic hunting game using the same formula as other hunting games on the market. Basically like Toukiden 2 and PSO2.
Yes, its a blast, but also the Grinding factor is real in most monhun. Its a lot of fun with a group to hunt with so Constant grinding dosent get too dull. Mostly for Rare parts is a bitch, but over all a fun as fuck series.
Im happy to see it FINALLY go to console/PC, I can only hope it proves to be just as good as the hand held but better.
We still have Tokyo Game Show. They don't want to blow all their load at E3
You should finish it first before making that assessment.
The game is pretty good once you understand what you're doing.
Autismal difficult combat and grind against Giant monsters so you can craft better shit to kill autismally kill Giant Monster with, sometimes with friends.
And by the looks of the trailer and the description of the game, the combat looks like it will be more like Dragons Dogma than anything else.
Except unlike MMOs there's a degree of teamwork and actual skill required for the more difficult monsters.
The combat in MH is autistic as fuck though compared to ripoffs.
Yeah. Hopefully that's better then this shit show.
I'm just glad that they finally freed MH from it's mobile prison.
...
I think you have that the other way around. Combat in Monster Hunter actually feels satisfying and weighty.
I guess you have never played any end game raiding in an MMORPG.
How is that the other way around?
Thats part of what makes it autistic, that and the focus on timing your attacks right, what did you think I meant?
Get the fuck out summerfags
Monhun until now has been an boss fighting game set in maps with arena likes zones. You would be doing mainly two things: Aquire resources to help you fight boss monsters, such as consumable items or weapon/armor upgrades or you would be fighting a/several monsters in mission like settings. Each monsters have their own behavior patterns, weaknesses and strenghts to take into consideration when fighting them so you are best rewarded by being prepared with proper equipment.
For instance, you would fight against two Lagombis, a giant bunny-like rodent that lives in cold climates. Usually fighting two monters at once is a pain in the ass, but if you bring dung-bombs and smother one Lagombi with it, it will run off to another area because of the horrible smell, allowing you to fight the other Lagombi 1 on 1, or you could bring sonic bombs that will stun the monster easily because it has giant ass ears, or you could bring fire-type weapons to do increased damage, all of which increasing your chances of success with the littlelest ressources consumed in the process. Most, if not all monsters have similar interactions and there are several items to try out on them.
Combat wise, the player have access to a wide array of weapons they can choose before heading off to hunt, be it ranged or melee, and set weapons have long, telegraphed movesets. Fighting is less about spamming high speed attacks and more about knowing what the monster will do and acting in a way to inflict damage with slow weapons that has defined attack patterns. Mastering combar means you'll be hitting the monster on its weak points constantly, trigger flinches and fall, breaking parts and doing all of this the fatests and most efficient you can while avoiding being hit in return. Some weapons allows you to hit monsters that are behind you and if you're good enough, you can actually include that attack pattern in your pallette of moves you can do.
Adapting in the key word here and at mid-high levels you start to see why MonHun is so great: you will find yourself engaged in a dance with increasingly savage and menacing enemies that will punish you greatly if you fuck up, but ultimately landing a victory is pretty damn satisfying, felling a giant beast that can flatten you in 3 hits while you chew away its health for 15 minutes on your own.
If you want to begin somewhere, try Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, either on the Wii U or the 3DS. I'd personally recommend on the Wii U since its a bit hard to get into the handheld version, and better graphics The introduction to the game may be a bit long, but 3U has the best maps and unique monsters imo and is the most grounded and immersive of the 3 most recent games.
Isn't Tri the same game with less content?
I think this user just prove how autistic the combat is in Monster Hunter.
MUCH less content
Name me 5 MMOs where this "Holy Trinity" isn't just players trying to top their respective role's damage/healing/threat meters while not giving a single fuck about anyone else in the group for the duration of the encounter.
MMOs that use that system all rely on their players to press their cooldowns every time they're up and reward them for it if everyone in the group doesn't mis-manage their button pressing
It's why I stopped end game raiding back in Wrath once Blizzard blew their peak load with Ulduar.
inb4 GW2 because "fuck holy trinity, everyone is DPS"
This is the only game i am waiting for from whole E3, aside from games i already wait that weren't even shown.
I mean, its sad. I can't even look at new monhun without feeling like shit because its like a snack in the sea of shit.
Kinda barely but not really. 3U has way more content than Tri, and it can all be done offline. Tri had some great shit imo but with its online dead and 3U around there isn't any reason to play Tri unless you want to see the bowgun customization.
Dude. You should really emulate Freedom Unite or 3rd on ppsspp and try for yourself. Its disgusting to see people who haven't even tried one of the pillars of long ass gaming grindan.
Legitimate salt, slander and damage control from console kiddies because what looks to be one of the best entries on a long-time console centric series getting a PC port. Never thought i'd see the day.
Dude, Boss fight in MMO usually have mechanic that you have to counter and to do that you need to coordinate movement with all you party members. You think if just stand still and spam heal, everything will work? I'll give an example of a simple end game boss fight in FFXIV. If 1 member fuck up the mechanic, the entire party wipes
Even if they are ps2 assets, they are converted in a specially retarded way to look worse than ps1 games.
shit taste man.
You're kinda retarded, you know that, right?
What you just cited is still multiple players acting like they're playing a single player game. The only "interaction" most MMOs have is that if one player fucks up their single player game everyone wipes.
The game actually just upscales instead of rendering at a different resolution?
What the fuck?
Welcome to console games since the beginning of time.
Reminder that Capcom is still a sleazy company, and it's your obligated duty to boycott their products!
Supporting them makes you part of the problem!
I'm very aware of how boss fights in most MMOs work. And FFXIV is a shit example to bring up about coordinated movement. It's not coordinated, it's just everyone moving out of the fucking red area indicators on the floor to avoid taking massive damage. You don't get that in Monster Hunter and you damn well know that. And one person getting fucking wasted by being in a bad place while fighting a Rathian isn't necessarily going to sink the hunt for the rest of the party. In fact, I can't think of a single monster in MonHun where one guy not doing the right thing at the right time will wipe the group, unless he was the last person standing when he ate the dirt.
What?
Console games have been shit since the beginning of time.
People are calling this garbage because it looks like garbage.
...
Kek, it ain't even exclusive. Sony and Microsoft tried the same shit with "look at all the exclusive shit we have" when it turns out to be false.
I'm starting to think your experience with MMOs is overshadowing your experiences playing other types of vidya.
Four players doing their own thing without regard to the others, but having the loss condition tied together, is not teamwork.
It's like you're playing Tetris and your brother is playing Mario and if he loses you also lose. You're still playing separate games.
How about you watch the video before spouting stupid shit. Extreme mode remove the AoE indicator from the fight.
Let me hear your example of "teamwork" in MH then you fags. Oh wait, you dont because you can kill everything alone.
And there was literally nothing else besides Devolvers Conference and Adult Swim shitposting.
SoTC looks like the same game and the new low res textures kinda kill it.
Ayee thanks for the info
Well, Metro and Evil Within 2 are going to be interesting at least. But indeed e3 was fucking nothing.
Devolvers won e3.
Monster Hunter is probably the number 1 game that should have been made open-world all this time but never was.
It's a single player MMO, but much better than that sounds. The game starts by telling you you need to kill a big fuck-off monster, but you can't do shit about it. So you have to start by hunting fucking salamanders and shit so you can build equipment to hunt wolves so you can build equipment to hunt small dinosaurs, so on and so on. Games are usually pretty comfy, and each monster has it's own attack pattern and shit that you need to learn.
Do you even read what you write? If you're not aware of your partners you'll get in their way and ruin your team. At the lowest level, playing with other people changes how you have to position yourself, which parts you'll target and which moves you use. Then there is efficient item and ailment usage, which requires a higher level of coordination and division of tasks.
It's still not teamwork, it's pattern memorization and reacting to visual cues to avoid triggering a party wipe mechanic.
You can apply that same argument to MMOs too. WoW still sees people soloing current raid content. I'll bet you think a Hunter sending his pet after a raid boss to eat a particularly nasty debuff so he can plink away with minimal effort is also teamwork.
Not to mention it's a spinoff and MH5 is still in development for Switch is that halfchan leak is anything to go by. Why should a Nintoddler be buttmad when the patrician way to play is a Nintendo handheld and a PC for everything else? The Nintoddler will have both in due time with this scenario.
Wow, just like MMO boss fight. if someone fuck up the mechanic, it ruin the entire party.
Just like every boss fight in MH?
Something tells me you never played any MMO in your life
Fucking kikes totally would
>Monster Hunter going open world, with mechanics actually befitting the hunting of monsters instead of just glorified arena combat with tacked on hide and seek
It's literally everything I've ever wanted from MonHun
Now to watch them fuck it up somehow my bet's on win10 only
There's a reason MH never did open world before this. It's going to be shit.
4A might deliver, but I don't trust Deep Silver.
I've always had the feeling that they poured all their investor funds into this game and thats why everything else they put out looks like absolute trash.
We'll have to see
Don't tell me you're still in the Mikami bullshit train?
The devs are westerners and the publisher is Bethesnimax.
The game looks the same as the last one and everything.
Unless your attack can literally send your teammates flying (either fucking up their attack pattern or getting them killed by hitting them out of position)
It's like Monhun going to Nintendo consoles for a few games made people forget it was a Sony exclusive for a long time.
The difference is that in one game, one has to be aware of each other as well as their regular role, which might even change depending on who is the rest of the team. In the MMO, one only worries about doing their memorized task, regardless of the rest of the team.
Because the original hardware couldn't handle it and it became a series staple
Also because it's the greedy jews at Capcom, they couldn't give less of a shit about making the game better if it meant they'd have to do more work when faggots will buy the same game rereleased with an extra letter every year for a decade anyway
...
Dragon's Dogma was great. This is going to be like Monster Dogma with next gen graphics.
Are you retard
People also seem to forget why the left sony in the first place too.
There are tons of issues, off the top of my head I can think of going to some area a monster can't reach and cheesing it and exploiting AI loops in similar ways and the fact that actually finding the monster makes it seem like 99% of the game will be wandering around doing nothing. MH has always been a game about bite sized chunks of pure action, and this looks nothing like this. This is so far removed from the actual core MH gameplay that I can't even call it MH at all.
Except it will be nothing like DD.
If you never played monster hunter, you would mistake new MH trailer for DD2.
Then Sony fucked it up, and MH sold better than it ever has before on a Nintendo handheld. It's been at the point where MH's team would have to be retarded to consider Sony for a mainline release for some time now.
m8 I'm pretty sure you're just wishing for a DD2 and projecting your DD2 wishes onto Monster Hunter.
Who used the fucking monkey paw?
It's hilarious how hardcore everyone on this site acts when they still don't realize consoles are PC's with a lock.
Is like you hate tities
No I was saying >>12795950's screenshots are upscaled from the native 400x240. Try reading some context.
Except I didn't imply that either, especially since I called someone a Nintentoddler in this very thread. Are you retarded?
FOREST
SOULS
I think the glowing tracking bugs is so you can hunt and find monsters, since its open world n stuff.
I'd imagine it'd be huge to search for these monsters. Which seems great for hunting I suppose.
Because the hardware couldn't handle it and they just stuck with it after that not to mention playing it low-risk and small budgets.
Guess what? if your stupid ass party members died, you can still win the fight if you're not total scrub yourself. So where is the "teamwork" again in MH?
If the incompetent fucks at ubisoft can rig entire cities for asscreed climbing every year like clockwork I'm sure they can at least make some open nature areas without massively fucking up the pathfinding
Yeah because that's totally what hunting is, just walking around aimlessly until you just happen to stumble into your prey, instead of actually hunting them
Dude come on
You should stop hating everything user. E3 was so shit i can't even join in your shitty shitposting about how MH is not as old arcady MH.
Grow the fucking spine already. Embrace the changes of the industry and gameplay.
please no.
If you just mean no loading screens between thats fine, but if you mean open world in the skyrim/gta/botw/ect sense then refer again to the above sentence.
Have you ever played a MonHun game before?
OPEN WORLD LIKE DRAGONS DOGMA.
That's what's good about new MH.
They just showed a fucking reveal trailer with less than 5 minutes of WIP gameplay to lure attention into the game and you are already making all these crazy assumptions?
Sure, not everything is the pinaccle of creativity but there is nothing else generic as the new monster.
Its literally just a T-rex but with a nose-thing that pops up.
Literally everything I said is in the trailer, except the multiplayer part.
The fuck are you talking about
That's exactly the problem. What you described is fucking boring and not what MH is about at all. Open world is just being used as a buzzword with no regard for how it interacts with existing game mechanics here. This is not a game were you explore every nook and cranny to find shit, it's a game where you go kill a monster and having a large area of fuck all between you and it serves as little more than an obstacle. The most it can possibly add is some "press X to cutscene" attack like the trailer showed. This shit is literally no different than wanting a pokemon MMO.
Three deaths and mission failed. But even if this wasn't the case, it still requires actual team work while playing together. Are you being dense on purpose or are you genuinely this dumb?
Except Deviljho,Jaggis or their infinite rathalos reskins?
The only case where that's true in FFXIV is the casual-shitter content. None of the 8-man raids are anywhere near that simple. But you wouldn't know that, being that you're a shitter.
Now imagine if this was switch release. Imagine the amount of shilling
Nobody would even criticize. Nobody would ever say a word against it.
How many MMOs have a system where you can hit your teammates with your attacks, either by accident or on purpose, and knock them on their ass or send them flying? And I'm not talking about specific map or boss mechanics, I mean at all times. In MonHun, if you swing your big ass sword and hit a teammate with it you will knock them around, even if it's just the backswing. If that shit happened in MMOs like WoW or FFXIV, especially during a raid encounter, the salt and rage would be unreal.
You're telling me that every time you've fought a Qurupeco that it followed the same pattern each time? That it summoned the same monster each time it mimic'd a call for help? That's either phenomenally good or supremely shitty RNG you're working with.
...
I WAS BEING SARCASTIC YOU FUCKING RETARD
no it doesn't, unless you're a casual and need other peoples carry your stupid ass through the mission. 1 guy can literally just afk at a safe distance and let the other party members clear fight
I see that they copied a lot from toukiden kiwami, dunno if this is a good or a bad thing.
At least it shows that they are feeling pressured, and that's good.
Do we even know anything yet or did Nintendo infect your brains?
Holla Forums is nintendo general. You forget that sometimes. The meme "its okay when nintendo does it" isn't just a meme. Nobody criticized new zelda's open world.
Maybe I shouldn't have said assumptions but you are definitely overreacting to something that doesn't actually look bad.
There is a lot of nintoddler salt 'round.
Lobby cucks don't even know that lobby is a Phantasy Star Online thing and it was always cancer.
remember when dark souls came to PC and suddenly the playstation fanboys said the game was shit? it's the same thing, but it's the nintendo fags now.
What fucking board are you posting on
Do you know how long it's been since MH was on a "modern" console? Since you probably didn't consider the WiiU modern, it's been 11 fucking years. The majority of the franchise's existence
Nobody seemed to care before.
mashing buttons like a retard while other retards mash buttons is what it is
Consider what a shit company Capcom, especially lately, is I dont think believing Capcom will fuck it up is an overreaction at all.
Are you retarded or just pretending?
Quiet or the kike will get you banned for "console wars"
Something devs seem to be desperate to get away from only to completely fuck up the entire game because of it.
second part of post meant for
Yeah, i agree.
If I went by Holla Forumss opinion I would be under the assumption that the game is literally unplayable.
Remember when the dark souls PC port was changed to an entirely different genre?
I forgot that talking negatively about one particular company is "console warring". Careful, don't want to get banned for breaking rule 8~!
Get your eyes checked, or at least quit seeing salt where there is none.
It is literally impossible to have a BOTW thread on this board because you'll get immediately blasted with assmad "didn't we have this thread already" shitposters and bawling about the Switch being gimmicky (no shit). CEMU threads make for better BOTW threads than genuine BOTW threads, I have no idea where he's getting the idea that nobody criticized BOTW's open-world unless it's out of his ass.
Also i forgot to tell you all.
I am happy because i don't need to spend my money and will get it for free. Say mad buycucks :^)
Even denuvo is cracked nowadays.
ok
Who cares, you if fucked up the fight, the result is the same, everybody dies.
Wow, it can summon a monster that I fought before, whatever shall I do? I know, how about I just kill it like normally do.
I solo everything anyway. Even in mmos.
Fair enough
Stopped reading there.
...
I can be your friend, I hate talking.
Oh shit I just realized the player has a dedicated beetle arm thing used for monster tracking
I hope this means beetle raising is a bigger thing and you're not just forced to use those generic fireflies all the time
Anyway, people are going to shitpost hard on this one, since its the only good game of e3.
You're dismissing a point with "who cares" but I'm the one "cucking out" by not giving your shit argument the time of day?
wowbaby detected
holy trinity didn't exist before WoW
Can't wait to play this on pc, have been waiting for a mon hun on something other than handheld for so long.
Seems like that glowing shit is to find gathering materials and lead you to monsters maybe?
Because its not a point worth arguing, you're asking about combat mechanic instead of explaining how MH is teamwork based game. In a game where you can do everything alone, how is teamwork important?
Glowing shit is literally skyrim's clairvoyance spell. That's i can criticize myself, i don't like this shit. I guess it will replace map or something.
Shit, I have to admit, I'm enjoying the salt
It might change up the gameplay a fair bit, might be a skill or something too
I just hope its optional.
Not really since only cucks use CEMU
It is
If you actually watch the footage the beetles just highlight shit in the game like monster tracks or eaten corpses
This is the new age. A new age when we pirate mods and emulators.
monster hunter has some skills related to get more resources in the beginner's armors so I wouldn't be suprised if it's just a skill
Grinding, tons of fucking grinding. Not like that should be anything new to you if you actually play PC games. It's why I like monster hunter.
Didn't they remove those?
You never know. In witcher 3 you were forced to do this.
I don't bother with CEMU since I've already played the game on a Switch and because the closed-source bit is shady as all hell. Not a hell of a lot of Wii U games interest me when I've already played the majority that looked good through 3DS ports.
I'm looking forward to it. Hope they don't fuck it up massively.
It would be hard for them to fuck it up, since the game is basically unchanged since it's original version.
That's the thing, though, this one looks to be massively changed from the standard formula. Plus, they fucked up X/XX by most accounts.
Except it IS a point worth arguing because knowing where your teammates are located and not hitting them with your fucking weapons is a fundamental part of hunting with a party.
No its not, because you DON'T need a teammates to begin with
Which is why he specifics "hunting with a party" instead of "hunting solo".
… Is that piss in her glass?
Then I guess they should just remove multiplayer functionality from Monster Hunter entirely and leave playing with other people to MMOs. Because fuck playing co-op. That's not real teamwork amirite?
Nobody is talking to you, faggot. Please read the reply chain before you make an ass of yourself
...
Hopefully this doesn't wind up like EDF did where the shitty western aimed spinoff was the only game in the series on PC for forever.
You realize the next EDF is also being brought to PC, right?
Not an argument
fucking please don't casualize this any more
Take your own advice here next time Because had you been following along you'd know the argument was about MMO boss fights supposedly having teamwork and Monster Hunter supposedly not having any at all.
At this point I'm fairly certain you're just fishing for (you)'s, so enjoy what few you got from me.
What was the name of that show?
Yeah, how come MH need teamwork when you can do it alone? Please explain. In MMO, you cannot do endgame raid alone, at least in FFXIV.
It looks like garbage, but keep eating that garbage PCucks
I think that's Thunderbolt Fantasy.
Some more footage
Mostly just the trailer stuff, but more context without the quick editing
They seem to be making real good use of the world and that arm crossbow/hook
Also vore
Holy shit you're fucking retarded. Stop posting anytime wowbabby.
Thunderbolt Fantasy
Are you nigger? Do you have reading comprehension problem?
A man can dream.
That shit looks fantastic. I'm worried the grappling hook might end up being to broken once we actually play with it though.
Which one is that, that tencent chinese one?
Open world Mon hun, presumably made by Capcom.
I want so badly for this to be good.
The new one that just got announced today.
Naw man, just reminding retards of being retarded
It's a new capcom entity separate from the chinese cancer
Looks pretty good tbh.
It looks like a mix between Dragon's Dogma, Monster Hunter with a little bit of Lost Planet 2.
This fucking board is full of cuckchan banned scum.
We had EDF 4.1 hype threads and a hype thread about the PC port.
Somehow he doesn't know about it though.
Also check all the shit threads and console wars.
Man, why couldn't we have more of that. Instead we got the abortion after. Feels bad.
Please explain how am I "shifting goalpost" again?
(double check'd)
I was thinking the same but if you think about it it might not be that effective since 90% monster's movements can be consider attacks I can imagine failing to grab on to the monster because it was in the middle of an attack animation
I expect alot of new player trying to abuse this and become the new french stick
Anything that makes mobility more fluid and fun is good, I'm more worried about the smaller things, like how that mounting just seems to be you sitting on the monster until it falls over or does something retarded on its own, or how the metal gear camo or diving into a bush makes you completely fucking invisible while enemy AI totally forgets about you
And those Helpful Hint Fireflies look incredibly fucking annoying visually, I hope they're toned down before release
Sorry, took forever to find the file I wanted.
It's Thunderbolt Fantasy, like the other guys said.
Will it be f2p?
If not day zero pirate!
Because the quality of teamwork in multiplayer is not predicated on the availability of single player. You literally changed the argument from one thing to another. That's shifting goalposts, you fucking mong.
...
Are you the same faggot who just complained about niggers in the E3 thread
Because the user in that thread was right, you're trying way too hard to fit in
kek
Many games that have mobility options suffer from one of two things. Either it's too good and easy to get around, allowing you to break the game by letting you get to areas you weren't supposed to, or to prevent that they make the mobility option obscenely context sensitive, preventing you from ever actually enjoying it. It looks like it's fine in the video, but you can never tell until you actually play with these things.
He definitely had to guide the T-rex into the tree, but if that's what you do for most of the monsters, I agree that it'll be boring.
I expect the earlier monsters will fall for that, but as you get harder ones, you'll encounter monsters hunting entirely by heat-sense, or maybe have some giant AoE that blows you out of bushes.
...
This is not necessarily a problem
To bring up a game that people are comparing this to, Dragon's Dogma has great mobility and the only broken thing about it is the occasionally shit camera movement while attached to a monster
Oh yeah, what was up with that? It smashed into the tree to shake the hunter, but then a trap went off
It seems like it was set off by the tree breaking somehow, but it came out of the ground like a pitfall trap
I want to reenact that scene from Predator now
No I don't, this is his argurment
Nigger there are 3 "original versions". They all aired at the same time with official dubs in jap, taiwanese and chinese.
I've never seen summerfags be so obvious in my life. I've seen someone say
I'm thinking about the reall bad situations, like when you clip behind a non-physical rock, and can shoot at enemies who are walking into a wall trying to get at you but can't ever reach you. I honestly don't expect anything like that from this game, but Monster Hunter has been doing the same thing for decades, they have to adapt to a lot of new shit for this game.
You are the reason the series is shit now. It's your fault X and XX are trash.
Buddy I don't know about you, but looking in this thread there's already a fuck ton of shilling. E3 is prime shill season, every game being released is going to have several posters who "are really excited for it" because that's their job. This will be shit, Evil Within will be shit, Wolfenstein will be shit, but you won't be able to talk about them without shills jumping in until a few weeks from now.
...
...
The Great Sword and that Bowgun were the only weapons featured in that presentation, right?
I wonder how many weapons are gonna make it into the final game.
What is this garbage?
Taiwanese puppet show
Im pretty sure that I watched that on cartoon network as a kid
It came out two years ago.
I want the underage b& to leave.
REEEEEEEEEEE
This was the one saving grace for vidya this entire E3. The one thing i'm looking forward to.
...
There goes the last reason I have to continue using consoles and handhelds. I'm finally free of the peasant race!
THANK YOU, CAPCOM
I was referring to pic related, which is indeed shit and the only game in the series on PC for 5 years.
How are they going to treat the other environments along with the elder dragons?!?!?
This game is what i fucking dreampt about but better. I hope it fulfills all of my expectations when it comes out. It has over a decade of history and other games to look back on so i hope it covers its fuck ups and benefits from there.
I hope i see that vulture/t-rex thing alot less. They showed it off WAY too fucking much.
Wanna know how I know you're not from here?
Shittily.
Monster Hunter is on a slow decline. The games have been getting easier and featuring less content as time progresses. The "open world" you dreamt about will be boring landscapes with very little variety due to the fact that Capcom loves to shit on its beloved series in an attempt to garner mass appeal.
I don't blame them, the 3DS was a piece of shit.
Like in recent games but with even more verticality than they were already given
I'm mostly worried for the desert, I hope they actually include it, deserts are the comfiest shit ever
Elder Dragons I can imagine working like MMO event bosses or something
I'd really like to see a boat-based fight done in the open world, but I doubt they'd go to all that extra trouble
Monster hunter is getting a PC release? Pinch me I must be dreaming.
Grade F shilling there faggot
They very well might, but keep in mind if they do, the desert will likely be entirely dunes to fit the "open world".
TRAYSH
Why do you think that the game shouldn't be open world?
Monster Hunter single highhandedly saved this E3.
They'd need something to work with the added mechanics, so ruins and cliffs and caves and shit that can give you something analogous to the tree canopy in the jungle are practically a given
Be less retarded.
I don't believe anything that comes out of E3 ever, and its served me well so far.
I'm not going to get my hopes up.
4.1 was a rerelease of the next game in the series.
Well for one it's either going to result in less varying environments due to trying to keep everything looking like it fits into a coherent level, or they're going to have varied environments with huge pointless stretches of land to join areas, resulting in travel time that is functionally worse than just have a half a second loading screen to go to the next area.
What benefit does an open-world provide? We've seen how every other game that has used "open-world" as a selling point has had huge boring expanses of nothing without any content to fill that space, so why would this be any different when it requires changing core level design features?
That's going to require either a smaller seeming area, or it's going to require some expanses of nothing. You can't go from the dunes to ruins and cliffs in a few seconds, or else the world looks like Drek's planet from Ratchet 1. Loading zones allowed for thematic separation, open world takes that away.
Lotta one and done praising goin on here. I've seen this phrase a lot of times so I'm almost sure you're a marketer. Wolfenstein, MHWorld, Evil Within 2, all of them supposedly "singlehandedly saved this E3" despite none of them looking particularly impressive.
This just keeps getting better and better.
Now I'm sure you're a marketer.
How about you first embrace the diversity then? :^)
Tell me user, how the fuck are you so pessimistic? In what way have the MH games been on decline? I can agree the sheer amount of sp quests in X/XX was a bit too much although i think the rest of the game is doing fine, coming from a guy who played since mh3u.
So dude, please give me a reason why this series is becoming shit and why trying new things is making it worse. At least were not doing underwater combat anymore.
Yeah I guess
The world design does seem like it's relatively the same just with physical paths you traverse between areas
Maybe they'll just embrace the silliness of having dunes next to ancient civilizations next to secret oases
What is this fucking meme I keep hearing about not being able to criticize Nintendon't? Is it console war shit? People shit on the Nipponese Jews all the time.
please give me a reason why this series is becoming shit
Capcom's shit but that's not an argument
Well aside from the casualization of gameplay to the point where monsters are far easier and deal far less damage, we have the fact that the mounting mechanic turns fights into mounting breaks due to the sheer ease with which a knockdown is obtained and with no drawback, we have the addition of the Insect Glaive (which is pure cancer, you'd know if you play 4U online) and X/XX lack both content and skill due to the introduction of "super moves".
Go and play MH1 and 2 faggot. You don't know the fundamentals of the series and how they diverged from skill based gameplay to "just hit it, nothing does damage anyway". What weapon do you sue faggot? Bet it's Dual Blades.
Ah, the old "change is good because change change" chestnut. "DmC Devil May Cry is fine guys, just give me one reason why changing things is making it worse!".
Trying new things is fine, it's when you use those new things to substitute for depth and skill when the problem arises. Take the Deviants, it was a neat idea but they substituted them for any actual endgame content. Take the Insect Glaive, a neat idea on its own but they substituted it for teaching players about KO and exhaustion mechanics. And the biggest reason "trying new things" makes the series worse is because faggots like yourself will defend this to the end of the Earth because you don't have any respect for quality, you just have brand loyalty.
No, it's pure
G R I N D I N G
and running trough maps, people who find it fun are autists.
Wow user, you sure convinced me. How about you come back later with an actual argument instead of being a mopey little shit about everything.
Is there a monhun that emulates well so I can play the fun parts and cheat through the grindan?
Play it or don't, man. If you want to skip the grinding you're not really playing MonHun at all.
...
If I believed him, I would assume the game is nothing but grinding. There are fun monster battles I know, but I don't doubt that there's probably a lot of walking in circles picking up mushrooms and shit like that.
Speaking of grinding, a big question is how the grinding will work in this game. Since so far it seems hunts will take longer than the base game, because we're actually doing proper hunting this time around.
...
That's not how it's gonna work but that would be cool as shit.
Fucking nice after the whole abortion of conferences and movie games.
Replace days with hours and I can see it plausibly working that way.
Sure wouldn't be fun though.
It'd be fun in another game, but in a monster hunter game that would suck since it would require the entire game be built around it.
Hey, I just like the games, you dont have to call me a faggot or anything, its not like i did anything wrong. And I wont play the older games to get a "feel for the fundementals" im not gonna be some kind of condesending dick for playing all the games, i just want to have fun and play with some anons thats all.
I use Switch Axe and SnS, was going to use HH but i got hit too much with it.
Some of your points make sense but I cant really relate to a few since i never really used those mechanics or gave much thought into that kind of gameplay that much since its not my playstyle. I agree that subsitiuting things can make things worse but we can all agree that X/XX obviously did some things wrong and people are talking mad shit about a game where we only seen a bit of gameplay. I just tell you guys to cut some slack, give it some time, and see if it gets better or not.
...
How the fuck are people going to deal with the flying and digging monsters?
no thanks
I wonder if this game will have Felynes.
This. Monhun wasn't open world because of console limitations and it kept the shitty zone because muh tradition. There's nothing to be lost with monhun open world besides casuals losing the opportunity to run away and heal.
>not nigger rigging your own traps out in the field
Now is as good a time as any to test those waters.
I spend 5 mins looking for that old fuck and then just stunlocked his wrinkled ass with the shotgun. Overall one of the worst and most boring bossfights I have ever fought.
Confirmed for not from here, ya faggot
Except you did, You have shit taste, learn to have a backbone faggot.
So you're choosing to be shit and the wondering why people are treating you like a dumb faggot? Go back to Reddit buddy.
Just hunt monsters for fun and parts will come.
I didn't say it was good just that there was a certain way they wanted you to fight him, and that if every time you fought a monster it was like how Kojimbo wanted you to fight The End it would blow.
Looks great. Why are you so unhappy about it? Especially the open world part. If there was any game that needed open world it was MH.
Maybe it could be like those glowing bugs that appear to function like paint balls? Maybe the player will tame small monsters that work like tools to help track and smoke out other monsters. Like maybe for flying monsters the player can tame a venomous insect that chases after flying monsters and infects them with a fatiguing agent that reduces flight capabilities.
What do you mean, snipping him to death fast and easy before he could fight you was fun
Casuals have been saying that for years, and you're the reason the series went to shit.
By all means elucidate.
...
The real casuals were the ones that were protecting changes in tri and 4. The series already has QTE's, no one shot kills and allows climbing with eggs.
Enjoy rebranding. Its worth it.
Not being able to do shit when you held eggs. Those were the times.
This guy gets it. Freedom Unite is great.
Explain the benefits being open world brings.
Kill yourself. First MH is the most popular MH in japan. They even ported MHG on wii because of that in times when tri was already available.
...
You can still have the "arenas" if it's designed with that in mind (and it is if the trailer is going by anything) so you are literally losing nothing.
Again I ask, what is the problem?
...
Are you honestly this stupid or just pretending?
yes?
At this point i believe 565853 just can't stop baiting for (you)'s.
I dont go to reddit though. I just have a shit taste.
you mean cellphones? Because it sure looks like it's made for them
God I fucking hope not
At least not palicoes
the switch has no games
That wasn't supposed to be greentext. Fucked up the entire point of my post.
Take your meds.
I'm pretty certain that that Monster Hunter "leak" was a lucky guess, but just you wait, am I the only one afraid that the increased development times and budgets will push paid DLC and micro transactions into Monster Hunter.
I'd say a half second loading screen is better than half a minute of trudging through empty space to get to an area
Which results in less level variety and less creativity in designing each area since they need to physically connect.
The exact opposite you faggot, you can't go from Ancient Steppe to a Jaggi Nest now without having it physically connect which greatly hinders level creativity.
The environment gives the illusion of being larger, while being ultimately smaller than the level constituents in previous titles. If it IS larger, it's gonna have as I said, tons of trudging through boring wastes of space.
That's nebulous as fuck dude, why just set it in space, that'll give new game mechanics that weren't possible too.
Except you're losing the constant pressure MonHun had, because now fights need to revolve around the fact that you're going to be walking huge distances to get to the next place the monster fucks off too. It means Brute Wyverns and Fanged Beasts are going to be far less abundant since they will make monster traversal more difficult to justify/program. You're losing the variety of levels, you're losing safe spots, you're losing plenty of shit.
I just want you to be better buddy. I believe in you, I believe you can be a better you. I think if you try hard your taste can improve, and you can become a positive force for change.
I want you to believe in you as much as I do.
Capcom has been slowly easing their way into that since 3U.
Switch may have no games, but Holla Forums is full of nintendo shills. Forgot already all those "look how vibrant zelda is" threads?
That music is embarrassingly bad. What the fuck.
Other than that looks good
i'd rather have something like cha-cha and kayamba, their masks and dances were neat
I really don't know why, they censor their games in the west and their release subpar systems.
Can you get any more pathetic than that?
The casual in it's natural enviroment
This is how retarded you sound.
People don't spit on you because they're envious, mate.
Broken hitboxes, excessive grinding, repetitive quests, ridiculous difficulty scaling (and by difficulty, i mean, late game monsters arbitrarily deal massive amounts of damage, even if you have the highest possible defense in the game), needlessly long animations that leave you open at every possible opportunity, monsters that stack and chain stuns of multiple types so you can do literally nothing unless you're playing online, tanky movement and controls, shitty palco AI, insanely tiny drop rates for items worth a damn, excessive upgrade requirements for handfuls of weapons, weird ass controls for ranged weapons, excessively penalized armor for ranged weapon users, poor difficulty-to-reward ratios on most quests, especially event quests, and to a lesser extent, a server system that loooooves to disconnect everyone after the beginning of a quest online.
There's only two reasons to play monster hunter: One: For that immensely rare thrill of a hunt gone right:; a hunt where your best combos landed, your best maneuvers succeeded, and the savage toe-to-toe battle ends with you standing over a massive enemy corpse, spoils thus laid bare before you.
Two: If your friends have it. A lot of monsters are deliberately designed to fight more than one person at a time, so if they only have to fight one person, they do nothing but behave super aggressively and you have to sit there and defend for ages before you can even get one attack in. Also, if you're playing on a handheld, it's one of the few coop games you can use to play with your friends online, and not just have it be stupid minigames or whatever.
You should just go back to your mobile games.
...
Only normalfags don't solo, because they expecting to "spend some quality fun time with their friends" like some libshit autists pretending to be children.
After all even if you don't solo, and aren't a normalfag you just get with random strangers that make the completion of dungeon or grindan easier. And then they fuck off.
Why do you think target mmos with wow quests and combat are considered shit by most of Holla Forums? Because people appreciate spending time over good gameplay, rather than autistic furry erp with "friends".
Welp, you can go get monster hunter 4 ultimate, download the custom quest editor, then give yourself all the best equipment in the game, fully upgraded.
Then you can be a useless weight on your team by not having the experience to hunt properly, then you can go grind anyway because some of the key quests require it and because many of the features are locked until you complete chains of repetitive quests, then you can go die in two hits when you get to G-Rank because the best of the best ain't shit without actual skill.
No.
In a very ideal world, the pc version won't use denuvo, and codex will do a steamworks crack to play online with other pirate.
In an ideal world Capcom wouldn't exist. They've killed Street Fighter and now they've turned their eyes on Monster Hunter. MHX getting fucking Pachinkos was a sign of their desperate clawing to squeeze every last dime out of the last decent franchise they had left.
The formula was getting old, I stopped buying the a few games ago. I'm enjoying the Hasbro 3DS salt and I hope I enjoy the game.
...
...
I already lost respect for mustards after they actually unironically bought MHO just because
They have no taste at all.
monster hunter rep in smash never ever
the salt is real
It was shit regardless, but c'mon son.
Salt must flow.
I am genuinely surprised at how many idiots they are in this thread.
You all don't seem to know Capcoms business model, do you?
Capcom is currently is in its death throes, to the point where most of its talent has left now. The only reason it is still able to make games like it was used to is because they are now being commissioned to make games by larger companies, and using that commission money to buy in interns and what have you. This happened with Street Fighter V and Resident Evil 7 (Including this new monster hunter, now also by Sony), Dead Rising 4 (Microsoft) and Marvel Infinite (Disney).
In addition to this, they are going down a check list of games which is guaranteed to make them money, and failing at every step. I can guarantee you that not only is this game going to be a flop and fail at what made the original franchise good to begin with, but its not going to be made by the original dev team.
If non of you realize this and still supports modern capcom, then you are the definition of sheep and deserve to be swindled.
The issues open world can and will bring is a very real problem.
Others already pointed these out, but what i'm more "afraid" of is the map/zone system. Maps played a somewhat big role. You learned where to search for what (including monsters) as you played. the map system was very usable, however you got to wonder, with the introduction on visual cues (like the bugs the hunter has) that it seems like they want to remove that. Will you need to wander around until you can find something that will make the bugs point you in the right direction? As far as i see it, the only way to make this work and not fuck up the system is to remove maps, becasue if you had maps and the tracking bugs that would be no better than having a few quest marker that ultimately lead you to the monster.
Another issue is time. The zone system also compressed play time. If the open world will be brought in, and the "loading zones" established, you'll have to physically proceed through them, which will take extra time. High level (high/g) hunts can and will take a lot of time. Introducing the open world will just multiply this. If you take MHFU/4U for example, getting from the bottom of the mountain to the top takes, 4-5 zones and a minute or two at worst. Now imagine this in open world. They either make it 5-10 mins to get to the top or lose their sense of scale. They could circumvent this with the flying wyverns, but ultimately the whole game's point is that you can go anywhere on the map. To close off the map to keep the sense of scale will cut into the gameplay instead, alternatively doing large areas that encourage flying will just leave people unsatisfied.
And then there's the drop-in multi. I could imagine it as a system that would enable people from the lobby to join mid hunt after it started, but overall the idea of a drop-in while on missions is off balance. It gets rid/diminishes the feeling of commitment that missions gave, plus it puts heavy burden on the carting system (if it will include it)
However, what i'm mostly put off by which i don't really see anybody talking is how much it looked something which would be introduced as "experience" instead of "play". While i do realize it's a trailer and an e3 trailer at that, but still it feels like it's moving out of the direction of an actual game into something like the new god of war or tomb raider maybe because of the hudless trailer.
My only real concern is; So who is designing the monsters? The Frontier Team or the Main Team?
Because if it's the frontier team I ain't touching it
i bought dd because i was able to pirate and play it first, if this has denuvo i'm going to end up not playing it at all probably.
Great Jaggi really tore you a new one, huh?
meme franchise
I just hope that it will be a one off full priced game with no micro transactions and forced online.
Imagine if they pull MMO model on it.
This
This.
Been wanting open world monhun. Too bad it'll still be grindy as hell but some people like that. What I really would like to see as a minor change is choosing your 3 body carves, the options for which change based on what you cut up, so don't attack parts you're looking to keep, unless it's behind something that needs to be cut up in order to get it in carve menu or rewards menu. An extra sliver of depth?
I remember reading I think in MHFU about your contract with the hunter's guild stipulating that you get access to first CHOICE of any 3 carves from each normal size monster slain, which explains the 3 carves, but we've never gotten to choose.
This would keep the materials collection that we're used to but take some of the shitty RNG out of it. Post-quest rewards would remain as they are.
One of them is more Barroth sized and fight with the Rathalos. The other has no nose thing and looks like it's got Deviljho proportions, but has the skin of a vulture.
Why did they not make a western release of MHO?
Hell yes.
Did you not pay attention to the trailer? Those are the same fucking monster.
the fuck you smoking?
shit man, I remember building rooms just for those
The nose thing inflates up and shrinks down. You can see it when the hunter first finds the monster in the original trailer here . Your webm cuts that part out. It also has wing things that pop up.
Are we also ignoring that one is A LOT bigger than the other?
Except one isn't. Are you baiting me, or are you really just this stupid? Watch the full, original trailer.
I had to convert the shit to webm form because I don't click embeds.
-
Weird, looks like they are fighting two different ones through the trailer because of the size comparison really not adding up.
It looks barroth sized and then suddenly it's large enough to chew on the hunter and has a mouth that takes up the screen.
I don't get it. Does the monster size change or what?
Well aren't you cool?
Maybe the last one is gold crown?
could be.
On another note, the grappling hook didn't seem to grab the monster so much as grab the foliage on the monster as it wasn't used for anything else… unless I missed something.
If I didn't miss anything then I think this may be a way for them to include larger monsters that actually move properly instead of shit like pic related.
...
If it lts going to be anything like Dragons Dogma then it will be good
Main tem. Although it seems like they are making this game against their will.
You missed the hunter using the grapple on a pterodactyl thing.
because autist can't "Switch" to anything else….they grew up playing their Nintendo and they worship at the altar of Reggie the Corporate Clown.
STREAM IS UP
where?
Bad news everybody.
Is it over already? That was fast.
FUCKING WHERE?!
