Ori 50% off on Steam

I guess since E3 announced Ori 2, they have the first half off for the Definitive edition on Steam. I've never played but considered it. Is it good? Pretentious meme-y? Is there a lot of pornworthy things?

lmao its a good game but the level up system ruins it, dont use it if you play it, the base game is one of the best metroidvanias in a while

Whats wrong with the level up system?

makes the game a joke and makes many of the essential power ups meaningless and redundant which ruins the challenge of the game and ends up hurting how it's clearly meant to flow. bash is one of the best mechanics and a triple jump ruins it.

It's a decent 3-5 hour platformer. It tries real hard to force emotional bits though I wouldn't say it's pretentious. If you go for 100%, or really just any significant amount of completion it ends up being stupid easy though and the combat is really kind of underdeveloped.

It's good. If the definitive edition costs more than the normal game it's not worth it, there's barely any additional content.
It's paraded as an artistic game because it's a very nice-looking game, but it's a pretty simple platformer in the end

retard alert

honestly it isn't that bad, but they really needed to spend a few more months on it and also they should've done better with the story.
and it gets really easy quick.
but to be fair its a ok game that has come out in awhile.
i wouldn't spend much money on it in hindsight, as there really isn't any replayability and as user says, its short.

...

Well, sucks for you.

Skip Ori and acquire Hollow Knight instead.

(checked)

They're both good in pretty different ways, though I supposed if forced to pick just one of them I'd probably also pick Hollow Knight since there's just a lot more of it.

Id say its pretentious.

If you can get it for $3 get it. It's far too short to be worth anything more.

tell me more about levels. are there some quality of life levels that makes the game better without changing the difficulties or ii is better to avoid them at all?

Can you say that again? Just the way you said it. Just the same way.

he means you should pirate first and than buy

It's not very good at all. Mediocre at best. And I fucking hate the super meat boy-like temple sections. Shit is aggravating.

It's good, but stay far away from the upgrade system. Especially the triple jump, unless you want to reduce the game to a boring cakewalk.
Also the defenitive edition adds some mediocre levels.

he meant the drm

I wonder if this has anything to do with the fact they're adding Ori as a character to Rivals as Aether? I'm probably the only person on Holla Forums who cares about this game

I care, best game of the year. also i'm gonna play Ori just for this new character

That's pretty cool. Ori a cute

I thought Ori was really good tbh.
Brilliant music and art style, and good, reasonably challenging gameplay

Same

Just started. not impressed

Why do you faggots have such shit taste? Are there any recent (((metroidvanias))) where I play as not vomit-inducing character?

Get your eyes checked, faggot.

Yes.
Well yes? Yes it is.

Not really a metroidvania(more of a linear simon's quest with some secrets and forks in the road) but have you played Lecarde 2?

Nope never heard of it. Isn't Lecarde a dude from Bloodlines and PoR? I assume it's some fan game?

Fangame, The Lecarde Chronicles 2.

Get bent faggot both games are good.
What the characters are shouldn't matter unless they're badly written.

GODDAMN NEWFAGS HOW MANY TIMES WE'LL HAVE TO TELL YOU, YOU CAN'T POST SOON LURK THE GODDAMN BOARD FOR FUCK'S SAKE

The game has a skill tree with three branches, the combat branch is more or less fine, there's a survival branch which lets you place checkpoints more often which goes a long way towards making it really easy, and there's a platforming tree which ends in triple jump which is the big offender in making the game too easy since with it you don't need to use most of the other specialized platforming tools they give you. Since you get experience mostly through finding exp caches you can avoid making shit too easy by just not going for 100% collection, or just not spending all the exp you find. It's pretty easy to tell what will make the game trivial so you can just level the things you think will be fine and stop before the shit that's too powerful.

It doesn't really start to pick up until you unlock some ancestral tree skills. Bash basically makes this game fun.

...

I was specifically adressing OP valveshilling which can be two things: blissful ignorance (newfaggotry) or intentional malice (valvedroning), both ways he isn't welcome to post here.

Furfags have mental disorder.

mean to reply

More like triggered dude that likes games for gameplay rather than uninportant things getting mad at fags discrediting good games for stupid shit.
Change the characters to a living blocks of wood, the games would still be good.

What the fuck are you on about, faggot?

he meant exactly what he said, valvedrones don't own their games, this is common knowledge

Character looks like sonic spoopy OC

Yeah nah it's garbage.

I can't get over how much Ori looks like a Stitch experiment

I've heard it's like Dust but better and since I liked that a lot, I should probably get this.
