No, you don't, because in most of the mission types that matter you will have enemies coming at you from every direction and there is no good cover. You're going to either be using some sort of defensive power to essentially be invincible, or stack so much damage reduction that you're also essentially invincible.

The combos are also far from a good thing, because they game wasn't designed for it in the first place. Notice how in DMC, if you want to lunge forwards at an enemy, you use stinger? Notice how that doesn't happen when you simply do your normal combos? That's because control over your character is extremely important in these games, and the Warframe developers don't understand that.

It's a shitty game but not because it's like Gears of War, because it isn't.

No. Shields don't matter for squat, and 90% of frames have no reason to hide or can just jump around and still do fine. I don't remember gears of war letting me climb walls and bullet jump.

If you wanna close the gap between you and enemies all you have to do is double tap shift, and tons of stances have combos that pull you right to the enemy. The only problem I've ever had is combos that require pauses being inconsistant and the amount of time you need to pause being tied to attack speed so its impossible to pull off any combo with a pause if you are using a fast weapon with berserker or some shit

No one cares about shields becuase theres like a million things that will fuck over shield builds (Toxin, magnetic, etc.) and armor is so much better becuase the amount of damage resistance it gives you builds you up to ridiculous amounts of EHP. On top of this, theres nothing TO "wait and hide behind"

I quit back in December and I almost exclusively went with melee on all my frames.
I also almost never went into cover either. Usually the only thing keeping me alive was Hysteria and the only "cover" I had to work with was killing everything around me so I could safely toggle it off and on as needed for energy management.

Although, that being said, if you really want to get technical about it you can. Squad is pretty retarded though, and so is the majority of the playerbase. I read Ten Little Niggers (I know the title was changed in angloland but my country's translation kept the original) when I was in middle school and it remained one of my favorite books. It's just very well put together, has great tension and atmosphere and holds up to further readings. The only thing bad about it is that every whodunit I read after that couldn't live up to its standards.
Someone did a miniseries about it fairly recently, it had that one oldfag from GoT as Hargrave. I thought it was decent.

I did when it originally came out and played the ghetto IS fan translation soon after. P5 is a grab bag of shit from the 2's thrown together with no real coherency. It's a fun ride but once you reach the end you realize how there was pretty much no message or central conflict.

Hell in my TF2 days I played engineer but had a strange propensity to be able to derail any server and start server wide dance parties. I also always used rescue ranger because I'm a terrible shot with that game's shotguns, but can potshot people across the map sometimes with the RR.

the tradeoff is that the rescue ranger does less damage, while the shotgun can do up to a hundred at close range. Plus, the teleport grab encourages players to keep the gear moving.

HoI3 was almost a wargame compared to 4. All the gameplay of 4 revolves around checking the various event trees and developing weapons ASAP, then declaring war on an enemy faction of your choice, painting the frontline in the general direction of where it would be most optimal to hold the line and the game autocompletes itself. Also the AI is plain retarded and will swarm their oversea territories but leave their own cities unguarded.

And yet the 2011 picture is still less cancerous than today's TF2. It really was just that couple of years.
