I do appreciate the alternate technological progression that Fallout established. However, I find the storyline and factions to be extremely weak and shallow. It's really sad how fallout fans praise the complexity of the factions and their political surroundings when in reality it's really banal. I think there's more to it than that. Women and normalfags are inherently attracted to flashy iconography and branding. Fallout is just more brand-friendly than Elder Scrolls is.

Think of all the brands and icons that you can think of from Fallout, like Nuka-Cola, Vault-Tec, the PipBoy, or even stuff like the blue vault jumpsuits. These are all flashy, instantly recognizable, and unique symbols that fit right in with modern marketing schemes and merchandising-oriented "nerd culture." These icons stick readily in people's minds, and are easily transferred into the minds of others who may not have previously had exposure to the IP. More importantly, it's easy to sell self-identified "nerds" merchandise with these sorts of brands.

Elder Scrolls doesn't really have equivalents to these, and I think that makes it significantly less marketable. In comparison with Fallout, it's relatively plain, it has no major internalized branding or memorable icons. This is also true when compared to other "nerd culture" brands that women are drawn to - Zelda has the triforce, for example. TES is less attractive to women because it lacks icons that they can be drawn to and identify with.
