Will the new NFS be shit?
Signs point to yes

80s G-body and 80s cars in general make my dick hard, it's a shame I would have to abide by CA smog laws if I ever got one. It's the main reason I have an 85 Trans Am just sitting around.

Second for hoping dirt 4 isn't shit

It's an EA game, of course it'll be half finished garbage with microtransactions and 10 season passes.

in the trash

Gay boner, just go away! Wank at me. Wank at me. Wank at me. Wank me"

Would you?

Who knows, comments on Dirt 4's handling are all over the place. Some are saying it's a massive improvement over Dirt Rally, some say there's barely any difference, and others are saying it's not as good.

I have a 1985 Oldmobile Cutlass supreme Brougham and I love it. It needs a lot of work but I'm using it to get to work and it's done a fine job.

Also they seem to be using the word "Crew" in that trailer too much. And being seemingly story heavy reminds me of "NFS The Run". These are not good things. And with there being no gameplay shown I think they might have not done anything to improve the driving physics.

At least it will have an offline mode so it will be pirateable

Fuck no, you put some proper jack stands under there pronto.

...

Decided to watch the trailer a second and a third time, and, going by what I saw, it doesn't look too promising. First of all, the story is all over the place. It starts out along the lines "Every single revenge story ever" (X character's age-old friend betrays them), then it moves to a "Kids in too deep" plot, proceeds to make a "You're too young to understand" message, and finishes it off with "Let's fight the mob". Where is the center focus in all of this? In Most Wanted, you wanted ti kick the tailpipe of the guy who stole your ride. In Undercover, you were an undercover cop (À la Driver). In The Run, you were just trying to win The Cannonball Run. Even the NFS movie had a pretty straightforward story in that the MC was racing across the continent to compete in a race and get revenge on the guy who put him behind bars. So what is this game trying to be? Fate of the Furious? Hackers? Surf's Up? Batman Begins? What?

Then, as far as the look…eh. The city looks like a combination between Seattle and Las Vegas, but it just looks so bland. So, stereotypical in look. There are largely shades of browns and reds for the "country" and then the greys and blacks of the "city". The onlything actually colorful was the lights and the cars (When you weren't too busy being distracted by the reflections and bloom, and the near blinding effect of it, and actually able to notice anything). Also, it looks too much like their indecisive over whether this should be a trailer for an "action" game or a car commercial.

Overall, I'd say I'm not impressed. Oh well, guess I'll go back to MSR and Paradise.

Will NFS ever abandon the Criterion-era toy-slotcar handling and return to cars that have some swing and weight to them?

This so much

Always hated that handling from Burnout

Considering that the studio (Ghost Games) is comprised of all ex-Criterion employees, I highly doubt it.

The Crew is shit. I don't like it. Recommend me a better racing game. I'd rather have either an arcade or simulation, and not some shitty combination of the two.

Blancpain GT Series Zolder sprint race.

What makes this race so interesting would be the extremely narrow track. At places there just isn't enough space for two GT cars to go side by side.

Sage for doublepost.

Is that a Monte Carlo SS?

The Crew's issues is it's an MMO in all but name. I'm kinda out of the loop for what's good and New. I'd say if you're on Win10 then Horizon 3 which is at least having more fun being some Simcade mashup.

But if you're looking for a sim game just go with Asseto Corsa, and if you want something arcade flavored, well they're all dead. Go play something you remember liking since there's not much else.

No, but to be fair you're not off. It's based off the GM G-body platform which was the base to:
And some hotted up versions of those cars, including the Areo coupes that were made for NASCAR Homologation.

...

I guess I should have expected it. Is there anything specific I should really do to learn how to play with the wheel? Also are there any racing sims with good single player content?

What console?

PC

I've liked Project CARS as far as single player, but haven't made much headway into it admittedly.

This trailer has so many red flags you could've posted an 1 minute video of a red cotton sheet flowing in the wind and i wouldn't spot a difference.

The crew's issue is being bad at everything except the map which is still bad but at least it's not as bad as the other car games of this decade.

I'm loyal to the twingo thank you (not).

Offroading with Burnout handling is going to be…something…

Also, is there anything we could have done to prevent Criterion from becoming Need For Speed: The Studio?

>In an interview, co-creator and designer Stuart Black revealed that plans for Black 2 were underway, but are now scrapped due to differences with Electronic Arts. Stuart Black and many of the developers of Black worked on the now released Bodycount; a spiritual successor to the game which, developed by Codemasters, was released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 during Q3 2011.
Doesn't sound like it, and this was back around 2006.

Learn when to fight the force feedback and when to let it go. Other than that just play more, these controls are just to to you so you need to familiarize yourself with them through lots of playtime.

Did anyone else know this game was coming out? Because I sure as hell didn't.

Nope, never even bothered with Trackmania 2.

The fuck is that? A sequel to turbo or another environment?

...

Another environment for 2.

How is Trackmania even still a thing? Who plays it? Because every time I was about to buy it people told me not to because the community is dead anyway.

Trackmania 2: Stadium has 245 people playing it as I'm making this post. Trackmania 2: Lagoon only has 16, and Trackmania Nations (the free one) has 191.

You can also play trackmania 2 for free if there aren't many players online, which basically means you can always play trackmania 2 for free.
And yeah even the good trackmanias are dead, the franchise fell out of favor thanks to nadeo becoming ubisoft's buttslave and all of the new games are shit.

Nope.

Seen some say "Hardcore" handing is just the same as Dirt Rally but because there's a lot more powerful cars in the game than DR, it's difficult to wheel some of them around. Also Rallycross mode still isn't fun.

It seems like just more Dirt Rally, which isn't a bad thing necessarily. But it does feel like a lot of ideas they wanted in Dirt Rally they couldn't work in DR being pushed into a game with a bit more accessible options. Interested to see what post launch support is like. Does feel like a small project, though. It doesn't seem to have the game engine upgrades F1 2017 is getting (Last year they added volumetric clouds. This year has PBR and Photogrammetery modeling),

Obviously their priority is F1. They also have that new IP from Evolution Studios as well (I wonder if we will see that at E3 or if it's next year). No one's heard what the GRID team is up to either and Micro Machines is being done by an outside team (Just Add Water). Curious times.

I've heard a lot of people say that the cars are much heavier, and have even more grip than before. As for post launch support, I'm hoping for more locations; Five just isn't enough, even with the stage generator. I'd also appreciate a land-rush circuit in the snow, but we'll see.

What game is that? I need it badly.

What do Nadeo even do besides -mania games?

They eat baguettes, honk those airhorns that work with a little ball instead of compressed air and drink wine

Power drive 2000, it's dead.

Disgustingly French. Hon.

Oh hey, it's the only new thing they put into turbo.

Bumping with our lord and savior

...

Kikestarter scam.
Could've been good if it wasn't a scam.

Does anyone know anything about buying cars irl? How do I not get stabbed?

It's the only thread where I can remotely ask this but does any of you guys play Rocket League ?

I have tons of fun playing it when it is balanced but I've lost 15 games in a row today and it kinda crushed my spirits, Ideally I'd want to play with shitters like me.

Vaporwave is OK, mostly, but this game is just an a waste of time, if indie games like FEZ where made in 3D, this would be the equivalent

It's pretty easy when you know half the battle is being informed and not spilling your spaghetti to a dealer. But if you want some bro-tips

Just don't jump in too quick and make rash decisions. You will be fine.

Has richard burns rally been surpassed yet?

Racing? pff i race my wife to the bathroom every morning so i can take a big dump before her and show her my alpha domination over her.

That's all the racing i need.

...

Is there anything similar?

neon drive if all you want is 80's cars + synthwave aesthetic. But it's shovelware that doesn't hide it's shovelware.

no

Not yet, and from I've heard Dirt 4 wont be getting us that much closer.

Ask /o/ plz, anything, it needs traffic ironically. But basically find a car you like, look up ALL the common issues it has, talk with the owner beforehand and see how reasonable he is. And make sure to ask why he selling it. He should be able to come up with an answer, if he stammers and avoids the question then back out then.
If he's sane, set up a time to meet up and a price, bring someone who might be more mechanically inclined if you're retarded And considering you're asking a Mongolian finger painting forum for digital board games you most likely are and look at all the trouble spots, and just general maintenance stuff. The more maintenance stuff done the better. Do a drive around too unless it's a sports car and show up empty handed they should be fine with it. Once you've concluded the car is fine pay the man and enjoy your new ride.

Faggot Though you're right about most everything else

Not sure what country he's in. Where you source the car can hit your insurance depending on where you live. Buy it from a dealer, they assume it's in good condition and they check the VIN/Plates. Also, if you get a certified dealer, very likely you can get additional manufacturer warranty/support if shit breaks down (And that can be a lifesaver). Plus, better safety rating of the car. Less premium. Easier to build your no claims riding a Corolla than a FR-86. Insurance is a fucking pain in the ass. You have to be a faggot your first few years like, doing porn to eventually be able to bang chicks/drive better cars.

Well Maple Syrup land might be going down the drain thanks to that fag we got in power (or just kicked out IDK but pretty sure it will be someone worse). But you're pretty much free to drive whatever. Though where I live specifically the insurance is monopolized so you're gonna get fucked hard regardless of what you drive.

Warranty is nice but most likely you're gonna be out of it by the time you need it, or there will be some loop hole that fucks you. My Olds that I bought had reverse go on me after like two weeks so I needed to get that sorted. Shit sucked.

My parents' clio had that one belt that connects the engine to the transmission break and slap the shit out of everything inside the car literally 1 day after the warranty ended, while my father was speeding at 150kmh.

When in doubt, just get a 240.

So much for monthly next car game updates.

Nah Canada is fucked

Did you see the new CPS gender identity law we just passed in Ontario that lets them seize children? It's fucking unreal

A Clio? You sure it wasn't a bike?

Did they run out of funding again? Honestly I'm not sure about the hype. I've played Flatout 1 and Ultimate Carnage and they were alright. But they also did Unbounded, which might be unfair to pin entirely on them but they still did that.
And while the idea of making a demo derby game out of BeamNG's crash physics is neat, it's been too long and all the hype is gone.
And no matter how long they take to make it, it will be worse then Test Drive: Eve of Destruction.

I kinda forgot/ blanked out that. I use to be kinda pissed the Fallout intro annexing Canada but now I kinda want it to happen.

I was the same way. You more or less have to relearn everything. The best way is to just get some mileage in until you get used to the feeling of steering with a wheel.
Also it might be worth it to look up FFB presets on the steam workshop. Find something that you think feels "natural" and "readable".

I want some game like Forza Motorsport for pc. I had the first one for the original xbox and later bought 3 and 4 for the 360.

I don't know if that is a good idea, your car would die in like a single crash. I prefer my crash derby games to be unrealistic.

But I would mind a BeamND + Spintires mashup

Even worse, that single crash would be a 20kmh bump that misaligned something important.
IRL demolition derbies are just for show, actually doing it isn't fun at all.

Anyone remember this?
I seem to remember it being pretty fun, I don't know is the sequel is good or not.

yeah, didn't own a copy of it but one of my friends did, played it a few times at his place.

Welp, Your stage confirmed as just tiles. Some players have even recognized corners and pieces that were ripped straight from Dirt Rally.

If they have enough variety, it's not that bad, and I think that they went this way because otherwise giving a proper speed rating to turns might be a bit complicated.

It is a little bit of a letdown when they were hyping it up as some impressive technology that they've been developing in the background since Dirt 3. Anyways, the main problem in Dirt 4 right now is the amount of grip; the RWD cars are understeering at full power.

I got that from a humble bundle a while back it was fun but it took only like an hour to beat and as you say was pretty much shovelware.

I looked into Powerdrive further, last update from the devs was a year ago in may I've heard of some devs not updating in awhile so I'll bookmark it for later in hopes it'll be finished one day.

Also is Wipeout any good? New game just came out and I've never played a Wipeout before.

It's not a new game but an HD remake of three older titles, I haven't played the new release since I'm kinda broke right now but the games that it's based off of are solid Wipeout titles.

I thought i mentioned it was a collection, I must've forgotten that i remembered to post that and thought i did anyway. I make that mistake often.
I'm not sure if this is a game where the price will go down or up after it's been out for awhile. It's only $35 and i could easily afford it, hell I could buy it if it tripled in price but with how many games in my backlog its hard to justify. Then again it's a racing game, there is no story, so there isn't another hundred hour commitment.
Sell me on it anons.

Are there any racing games similar to forza 1 from the original xbox back then?

Im looking for a racing game not ultra realistic, but not arcadey like nfs, like forza.

Where you can progress and upgrade cars and buy new ones.

Project cars?
GRID 2?
Grid autosport?
SHift 2?

I have no idea about them, definitely not looking for an open world racing game.

halp

Ever heard of Gran Turismo?

On PC?

emulators wigga

Yeah, nah. it has a lot of work to be done.
Even then, Enthusia was better.

Where have you been living? PCSX2 has been stable and GT4 has been playable

And indeed it didn't. While Dirt 4 had some neat ideas, the sim aspects of it flopped when compared to Dirt Rally. Gravel handling feels just wrong. Sage for doublepost.

It's not even hard to set up, and as long as you don't have a toaster it should run fine.

Speaking of emulation, I would suggest you would check out Tokyo Xtreme Racers 3

RWD is fucked in dirt4, the cars are much less tail happy and you can't steer with the rear wheels that much.
I took the 037 to michiganloose surface) and at full throttle the car's rear didn't fight me to keep the power on the road, it's disappointing, I was really look forward to the e30 but that's gimped as well.

Not even the stratos?

The 037 is a Stratos on steroids

Didn't try the stratos yet, just the 037 and the e30. 037 in michigan and e30 in wales, both of them were much tamer than what I expected, I tried throttle steering around tight corners but the rear didn't want to dance, I even used the handbrake, I never used the handbrake with those cars in DR.

I found the heavier 037 much easier to keep steady than the stratos(in DR).

Landrush ended being the thing I enjoy the most in Dirt 4, despite it being the mode with the least amount of development put into it.

Got my first crash mid multiplayer event, gr8

game crashed again this time taking steam with it.
And it surprised me with a 558Mb update just to rub some salt.

That update thingie is weird as fuck, it eats like 20 GB of my HDD temporary, and takes long as hell to install. Still, Dirt 4 is fun so far, although I haven't tried RWD vehicles or Rallycross yet. Landrush is surprisingly fun too.

Bumping with some Wangan Midnight cars We'll never get a proper TXR game again.

It's something like the 4th rehash of the Wipeout Pure content with 2048 stuck on. I really wish they'd make something new and for gods sake do something different with the gameplay, there's now been 12 years of the same basic handling model and gameplay (barrel roll/side shift), three times as long as the 4 years of the original Wipeout handling model/gameplay (Wipeout-W3 1995-99).

vrooooooooooooooooooooom~ :3

bbbbbbrrrrrrrrrrraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaappp~ :3c

How long has it been now?

RIP NFS

Wouldn't be the first time.

Whelp, looks like it's literally "NFS '15 but with the truck hijacking plot from the first F&F movie". The customization (shown in a different video) and the Not-quite-Ridge Racer physics are the same seemingly.

Also I'm not sure if it was just the trailer but there were way too many cutscenes during gameplay.
And as much as I like Paradise and it's frankly berserker style take down (if you aren't spending less then 10 seconds between crash cams during road rage you're doing it wrong) you still had to be pretty deliberate with the shunts and sideswipes. Fuckers were being grazed and pirouetting through the air. I mean NFS has never had great crashes (a few attempts to fuck someone up during a race in Prostreet ended badly for me more often then not) but come on.

At least it will be able to be pirated this time around.

NFS has been shit since after Underground 2, and this looks like the best one since.

Does anyone have a clip of the EA conference where they rice a classic beetle for 3 minutes?

youtube.com/watch?v=geTNOvyogjQ

I was just watching this for the first time when you posted that.

Wait, are they pretty much forcing you to fix up an old beetle?

Yes, even racing games have you defacing Germany's pride and legacy these days.

I assume you're into the rice aspect since the oldschool fans hate all the customization. And, no, it's not the best since U2. U2 also had solid driving physics in addition to the excessive rice you were expected to do. So it was nice to play though out.
Since it's the same as NFS '15 seemingly, I can say that while the customization IS fanatic, though a bit heavy on stancefaggotry it's very in depth (though Autosculpt still being AWOL is sad).
But fuck actually playing it, it's like Unbounded, and not even the colour brown and orange should be like they were in Unbounded.
Also why is a choptop only possible in Carbon and ONLY for muscle cars? Why did Prostreet not have a vinyl selection preview? Why did Undercover not let me adjust the size of exhaust tips? I'm sure it's pretty hard to code all of the Autosculpt stuff in but it's so good and getting everything just right feels great.

Otherwise you sound like a Shill. It'd clear as day it's just a repaint of NFS '15 with the F&F1 sub plot. Nothing about that makes it the BEST SINCE UNDERGROUND 2.

Multiple videos of it m8 apply yurself.

It would seem so. It's a nice touch though I wish you could full ratrod with it.

You mean underage hipster faggots who were born after the series.
All I want in my need for speed is good gameplay, and good customization is good gameplay although it's nowhere near as important as cars not feeling like turds sliding down a hotwheels track

No that's the gameplay.
EA wants to make all their games movies with gameplay sometimes.

I wish Codemasters would fix Dirt 4 already. I want to play Dirt Rally but it's not fun anymore to play those same tracks over and over again. I just want to drive some challenging rally on some tracks that I haven't memorized.

Play rallycross or trucks, that shit's tons of fun.

have you master the Lancia 037 yet?

Forza 7 is looking nice. We're finally getting dynamic time of day and rain. I wonder how ugly the environments will look on a base Xbone though.

I'd say it will look similar to low settings on PC.

Honestly the only thing that interested me was that it looked like it had car combat, and I'm hoping they just straight up copy the Mad Max game, because that was pretty fun. NFS sucks anyway and I'd probably hate Underground if I played it again. I probably only praise it out of nostalgia.

...

No can't say I truly have mastered it. But mastering it in Dirt Rally is sort of a moot point, and kind of pointless in Dirt 4 as long as car physics are somehow broken. Have you truly mastered a car if you can take it around a stage you know inside and out?

...

...

...

Is there a currently available steering wheel for the PC which will work with old titles like Grand Prix Legends or N.I.C.E. 2 without .ini voodoo?

The Crew 2 on Ubisoft's E3 conference.

Spoiler alert, it's gonna be shit.

It's not a spoiler if it's obvious in the first place.

Still, there will be suckers that fall for ubi trailers.
I really wish that hostile takeover by vivendi happened years ago.

It's going to 900p and dynamic settings on Xbone to account for the weather and TOD effects apparently. Also Indy Car, NASCAR and IMSA are confirmed series that will appear along with Suzuka and Mugello returning as tracks. They talked a lot about the "Driver customisation aspect" and said you can unlock suits from some of the top drivers and hinted they might appear in the game (Probably the replacement for the "Beat The Stig" event since it sounds like the Top Gear deal is done)

It's less DIRT 4 physics are "Broken" than sim physics are more punishing for not taking the correct approach in. There's a lot more emphasis on straight line braking, especially on loose surfaces. That wasn't in Rally at all and one of the bigger complaints real drivers had since you could brake during cornering and still get full wheel axle rotation even with all assists off (Can't do that any more in 4). So you have to change your mindset regarding control if you are straight in from DR. You are supposed to learn it in the rally school but since most people skip it. I guess people are being caught out by it a lot considering the complaints.

Still a dumb Codies decision to make a massive change and bury it in a mode no DR veteran would touch though

Bugbear are now partnered with THQ Nordic to finally fucking finish the game by the end of this year.
steamcommunity.com/app/228380/discussions/0/1353742967821211048/
And again, I'm going to hold hope like the gullible retard I am.

Nordic has done pretty well recently. But I won't trust them until they update Tachyon to run on modern machines.

Car rears, and thus by extension cars themselves are glued to road, sim physics aren't punishing at all even with all the assists turned off.

Have a nonsensical trailer about driving.

This one makes more sense at least.

FH3 was a flop and shit but the mainline series is still good. Hopefully they don't fuck it up somehow but by the videos it's already good.
Ultimately it's going to be windows 10 only and riddled with dlc so not worth the cash.

If you play on Australia and Wales. You can feel the grip fall off massively on loose surfaces. Spain, your car is practically glued on,

It's the best selling and highest rated game in the series.

Oh yeah, FM7 news. Not all tracks returning from 6 (Not surprised. Expect Dunsfold to be gone) but Maple Valley from FM 1-4 is returning. There was 23 locations the end of FM6 when you included Virginia International and Homestead. So maybe 8-9 new tracks/locations

A series where the userbase is consoletards who pay 100 dollars for the base game, and then buy all the dlc.
It's shit, it's the worst. Mainline is still good, FH isn't.

Forza Motorsport is on the same console with the same userbase, you idiot. Stop acting like your opinions are fact.

Is it a true rally race or is it still one car on the track at a time?

In SP it's one car one track, although from time to time there will be a crashed car on the side of the road.
In MP it's everyone race at the same time but you won't see ghosts.

Dirt 4 experience in australia so far, making the co-driver calls earlier and earlier so I don't get caught out by a corner while redlining in top gear.

At least you didn't get a full treequinox.

One car on the track, occasional crashed car somewhere along the stage. There is real time multiplayer, though it's really just everyone doing singleplayer at the same time only you can see other player's progress on the bar.

There is barely space for a single car. It's part of the reason why racing games are so shit nowadays too.

K, consolefriend.

Is that you getting laughed at?

You dont know how rallies work, do you?

Perhaps not having Oneyplays in the background would help. Sage for doublepost.

...

forgot to ping

I should've explained it better.
There's barely space for a single car, multiplayer with multiple cars racing at once wouldn't work.

I think the other user was implying a race with staggered starts.

… and it's part of the reason why so many multiplayer racing games are shit these days.

I'm actually PC only, but good job with that false assumption in place of any actual argument I'm sure you could have totally had.

I'm sure.

And what would be different? Unless you're a god of the wheel you're not going to catch up to anyone, and even then, it would be only on the first stage, because the starting order is determined by who was the fastest the previous race.

It would also be very annoying to have to wait for several minutes longer the worse you do. The online would be even more dead since the casual majority would just quit after placing lower in the first race and being forced to just sit there every time.

He probably just wants it because Dirt 2 and 3 had it, though they both had small player counts per lobby as well as shorter stages. I think it'd be nice if it were an optional way to do multiplayer rallying with, since I'm pretty sure there are online sim racing leagues out there who would gladly wait 20 minutes between stages for "muh immersion".

Forza 7 system requirements.

I mean I know WHY Win10 is being forced to play games (apart from devs sucking with programing). But I hate that it is, Forza is blatantly bait to lure suckers into getting their damn daily dose of NSA spying.

Does anyone think Vulkan will be able to run Forza games soon? Or that Wine could handle both running Spybot10 and Forza?

Anyways MotoGP '17 is out and Flatout 1 is on sale, $2 for just Flatout 1, $8 for everything.

Stay with no Forza mad kid

r8 my Pessima and Covet.

What is that waste of space behind the green car?

What, the caravan or the map?

The map is the Grooved Testing Range, Nevada or something.

The caravan.

Go back to reddit.

fugg i hope r31s aren't as bad :^)

...

Also, 24 Hours of Le Mans starts tomorrow. No idea who is going to stream it, but seeing as how many TV stations are going to be involved in airing this, I am certain that it will be pain in the ass to find a good stream.

Le mans main site has a convenient script for time conversion; lemans.org/en/24-hours-of-le-mans

sage for doubleposting and blatant shilling

There's probably going to be a thread in cuckcahn/sp.
They manage to find nice streams, sometimes in youtube, sometimes using the acemedia software.

Perhaps we can make our own thing, just like /wooo/ did with rasslemania?

Surely people outside of /ogc/ wouldn't be interested in such a niche sport as endurance racing?

don't buy any codemasters games, those guys are total jews.

Why are these maps allowed to exist? They're braindead retarded.

Great, the site broke again. Posting for old posts.

I can't wait for the mess it'll be.

burningwhee1s.blogspot.ca/2017/06/wrc-2017-round-7-italy.html
It doesn't have the review yet, if that's what you're looking for.

This just keeps getting better and better

Man, they can fuck off with that bullshit. I bet they're still gonna require you to download half the game if you buy the xbone ver, and there's zero chance for a physical version on PC.

They never have decent physics. For some reason that shit is very rare in games. And I am not even talking about realistic, but just fun/good physics in general.

By the way, what do you guys think about the new Forza 7?

Forza 7 is looking good, I hope the blueprint system from Horizon 3 makes it in so I can grind tons of credits on the Nruburgheruging Nordshilfshfe. I personally don't care about the file size since my harddrive has enough space, but the lack of compression when it comes to games these days is getting a bit retarded.

Welp, nothing really new. Forza 7 was revealed to be 100GB and that game Leafy plays for his clickbait shit is on steam for free it's under the driving game section so I'm counting it.

I have been replaying Street Supremacy on my PSP because I like Genki games. They are very comfy.

Considering Forza hasn't been good since 4, I'll gladly take not having spyware on my computer.

i am using the full link, its probably something on your end yeah

You know Codies fucked up when a WRC game is starting to look better than Dirt 4.

if this game turns out to be good, better for everyone.
Codemasters is pretty much the only rally game maker out there, they need a fire under their ass.

dirt4 is fun

I really like dirt 4, all I ever wanted out of a rally game is that small town feel of racing your shitbox on some backroads experiencing the things I saw on TV as a kid, and dirt 4 does that well enough to keep me hooked.

I'm about 50% past the modern carrer mode, and my car has a had a bunch of mechanical failures, gearbox making a grinding noise or the electrics failing and you can't hear the pace notes for a bit of the stage, broken down cars on the side of the road with spectators waving at you to slow down, flocks of birds flying on the track when you come by, all things that happen in real rallies happen in dirt 4 and it adds that touch of authenticity to the shitbox on backroads experience.

Cars on the same class are more distinct, there's not one car that's better than all the others (205 t16 in DR) and different classes behave more distinctly, I've been playing with the kit cars a lot and the way you brake/attack corners is very different than something like group A or even r5.
All it's missing is a 106 and a saxo super 1600 cars and it'd be much better.

It's not a perfect experience how ever, the roboticized co-driver shows, some calls are too detailed and important calls don't come soon enough, you'll notice this when you're flat out in top gear and the co-driver calls Right 5 keep in don't cut, right 2. By that point you're going to eat shit no avoiding it.

Calls are also inconsistent, I noticed there's a lot more verticality now compared to dirt Rally and very rarely will your co-driver call that you're going downhill and need to adjust your braking, there's a fast 5 into 5 into 5 chicane in spain that always sticks out to me and I eat shit there almost every time, because of the steep downhill angle and the co-driver doesn't call it.
The maps are also made out of chunks and you'll start to memorize the ones that stick out more, like the chicane I mentioned, every map has these corners you'll memorize because it's a bad call or it's a complicated corner to attack.
Each map has like "biomes" for lack of a better word, wales has the deep forest and open fields with grass everywhere, michigan has forest and open forest, spain has forest and vineyard/open terrain with the occasional villages that are a cool addition, sweden has swedish forest and it gets boring fast, and australia has the same forest-y area and open fields.

It's a fun game and I'm trying really hard not to burn myself out but rwd is fucked atm, and some of the carrer tracks are same-y where you'll see the exact same corner twice in less than 500m of each other.
This is a controller + sim handling experience, I can't attest to the FFB or anything like that,

JESUS CHRIST WILL THIS CUNT SHUT UP ALREADY!

Got this really bad call, even if I nailed the left 5 I was going way too fast for the left 3 right on top of it.

No commentary runs are getting rarer and rarer. Whatever happened to raw gameplay footage?

He's just telling what we're already seeing on the screen. That's what's killing me.
If he added some insightful behind-the-scenes stuff or things we don't know I would be a tiny bit - A TINY BIT - more lenient.
Plus, he's got an annoying accent.

How well does it work or a not so great PC? Aslo can you play with a wheel?

Be more specific about your CPU.
Your wheel should show up as an analog device if SDL has no problems with it.
I can tell you in an hour and a half if it's playable on a Phenom II toaster clocked at 3.6GHz.

On the note of SDL, can any neckbeard help me out with a problem?
I'm on loonix using git versions of ppsspp and pcsx2 and ever since they switched to libsdl2 for input I haven't been able to use any of my gamepads. I think it's wxwidgets because sdlmame using qtwidgets has no problems.

Also for loonix users having performance problems in general, if you're using anything other than the performance CPU frequency scaling governor, try using that one while you're playing games. It really helped me with emulated games and more modern games like Dirt Rally.

You can check which governor you're using by running the following command
cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu*/cpufreq/scaling_governor

and change it by running this as root
echo performance > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpufreq/policy*/scaling_governor

change it back when you're not doing demanding work or else you're gonna waste electricity

i5 3330, google is giving me some mix answers, some say it works fine when other that they can't run it at full speed.
Is ffb working?

it's faster than my CPU but you'll probably have to fuck around with speedhack settings especially at stock speeds
I hope you're not planning to use the integrated graphics
also take note that the higher speed hacking presets can actually decrease performance

scratch the sdl2 stuff, there's a direct input plugin for this forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-Qemu-USB-Wheel-Storage-mod-Singstar-test

Thank you, I have gtx 950 so at least a bit better then integrated graphics, just how much CPU power does it need. I really should both g27 instead of g29 and I would be able to play in to ps2.

You could have just eased off the throttle a bit and let gravity slow the car down by the top of the hill.

welp, GT4 runs like ass on an AMD CPU from 2009 who would have thought
with a more recent Intel CPU it should be playable using the aggressive speedhacks profile I guess

this is on a git version of pcsx2 btw

This video has no commentary for the majority of the run.

Why?

Because it's an ice track and not a snow track?

But why? That doesn't sound fun at all. You'd just be sliding around very slowly as shown in that webm.

Also here's some GT Sport damage control.

Neither is driving in heavy mud, but a lot of people still enjoyed Spintires. Honing your technical driving skills and keeping the car under control on ice sounds like a lot of fun to me, personally.

Assetto Corsa or Project Cars?

Got an urge for racing. Never really liked them though. I've got GRID and DIRT but can emulate many more and obviously pirate some more.

Any recommendations?

Initial D Street Stage for PSP is pretty fun

Since I'm seeing Forza Horizon and Need For Speed here, I'm assuming arcade racing games are okay to post here. Are there games similar to Motorstorm on other platforms? I'm considering getting Pacific Rift, but I'm not sure if I have other viable options.

Burnout 3
Gran turismo 4
Flatout 2
Dirt 2
Wipeout Pure/Pulse
Spintires(less racing more of a chill tech demo)
WRC rally evolved
Need for speed UG,U2, MW05, HP, MW '12

Those are all that come to mind right now I'm sure I'll think of something else.

WINE ultimately aims to work with all windows programs and versions so eventually it's sure to get windows 10, UWP and dx12 support but even dx8/dx9 support is hit or miss and dx10/dx11 is unusable. I'm guessing it'll be semi-working in the late 2020s.

Nitronic Rush
F-Zero series
Flatout series
Ford racing series
NFS series up to underground 2
Micromachines series
GTA San Andreas and Liberty City Stories both include racing as a replayable minigame, and all other GTAs (except maybe 1? I haven't played that in 20 years) include a racing mission. Don't touch 4/5 they're shit in general but specially shit with vehicle physics.
Tokyo Xtreme Racer and Tokyo Xtreme Racer: drift series
Crash Tag Team Racing

There are plenty more but that's what I can come up slightly drunk at 9pm

Hello I come from /ovg/, is this an rFactor friendly forum?

Sure, we have a good amount of rFactor autism.

1
The best and original rFactor 1?

To those that might care
Initial D 6AA should start being playable on regular PC soon if not already (loader with "experimental support" for it but can't yet find any dumps)

If my assumption is correct, that ice track is located in Arjeplog, Sweden. Where test drivers go to in order to see how their cars works in icy conditions.

Top Gear did an episode quite a while back.

Any racing games on the Steam sale you would recommend, fellow goyim?

I was thinking about GRID Autosport for the Indy track.

That's a major disappointment. That's kind of weird DiRT4 was released so soon. I was expecting fall/winter. Not even worth a torrent after I looked into it.

I don't know why people are judging dirt4 so bad
I didn't play D:R, but I pirated it and it's kinda nice
The only things I dislike is what said and the braindead AI
It's worth a pirate

also pls respond

Assetto Corsa, or wait for Project Cars 2.

has anyone tried a DLC unlocker?

Blancpain GT is on.

that one team with the EA BF1 livery.

I overclocked my 970 for the first time( because Rising storm 2 kills my fps) and after a few hours of playing RS2 with an overclocked gpu I try dirt rally, and for some reason my performance is worse and I get visual artifacts??
And another thing, I wanted to turn on riva tuner stats for dirt 4 while the game was open and the game crashed when I enabled it, giving me a DNF for my dailty.
What the fuck is wrong with this game.

What the fuck is wrong with games is that you didn't test your OC's properly. You fucked up.

I ran valley for an hour, then played a couple hours of RS2 without any artifacts.

So? You still fucked up.

Any racing games where the multiplayer scene isn't totally dead?

Quick question, what wipeout should I emulate first? I would just play all games by release but since it's just arcade racing I prefer to play the 'best' one

This also interests me

These graphics kinda suck.

Racing games have a hard time keeping the multiplayer alive because they're generally not team based meaning casuals can't ride the dicks of more skilled players to victory. From what I've seen, it's either the most hardcore racing games (like iRacing) or the absolute most casual (like Mario Kart or GTAV) that can manage to keep a big enough player base. Everything else dies out quicker than an anime fighting game.

nah cunt
Most Wanted and Carbon are also good
Pro Street if you want an arcadey circuit racer with kinda iffy physics, drag and speed challenge were the most interesting ones imo

...

It's shit and codemasters is now shekelmasters.
Pirate.

wreckfest update, which may split people into two groups(?)
crews and part wear/repair are removed

There should have been a caution call prior to the 5 call tbh. I also hate how wide the roads are and how forgiving it is if your car veers off the road slightly. Kind of sad dirt 4 is a step back from dirt rally.

''I'm OK with this only because it was so useless before and it's also not too big of a deal since the game is still pretty arcade. I'd rather just crash away with reckless abandon rather than go full pussy in hopes of being able to afford my next replacements. Though honestly I'm just glad we've gotten a patch at all.

Suppose I knew this was coming. As soon as they said it was going to cater to both arcade/sim, the game was doomed.

I like where the game is going, however shit's buggy.
The mouse kept getting stuck in "camera pan" when I didn't click it and I tried selecting multiplayer and it crashed.

Sudoku yourself

Is that wreckfest? Didn't know that had a customizaion aspect, I might wanna Pirate it.

This looks like something straight out of gta5.
Neck yourself

At the very least that car is a fucking Charger, which still is heresy.

fat chance pirating it, this update came out today and it's a niche game at most you'll probably find an old build.

It was just updated today. Everything was jammed in but as that other user said, it's really buggy and unfinished. Apparently they're planning on having the body customization actually affect things like weight and durability during the race in later updates. Sounds cool but it will probably mean everyone will go for the same optimal parts.

...

Welp, reinstalling.

Let me guess, NFS:U was your first Need for Speed game. Need for Speed is total cancer since they introduced car customization.

there's Distance and it's free predecessor Nitronic Rush but i doubt it's what you're looking for

no it doesn't

Rat Rodding in the sense of bringing dead cars back to life and driving them about like old school hot rodding is awesome.
But people who sand their hood down to bare metal and take a hammer to a few parts are faggots.

Yeah it was and what was wrong with that? It was still a solid racing game underneath the ricing, same for U2, felt like Most Wanted came up a bit short to bring cop chases back in.
And at the end of the day car customization IS gameplay. And it's always been a part of games too, though usually in the form of just choosing body colour.

You are either young or new, and both are cancer. Anyway, the whole car customization shit is nigger tier, Forza does a way better job at that. Then the story mode is gay as fuck and the series lost features.

In nfs high stakes you could drive as a cop while your friend was racing, they removed that in hp2 and didn't even include it in the latest hp. They remove unique features just to make a shitty open world game.

You do realize the first Underground game came out 14 years ago? And Forza has the same nigger tier stuff, just with the addition of making a penis on the side of your car.
Also you could play as a cop in HP '10, which was actually pretty good take on oldschool NFS games (Power up bullshit aside).

It's still new shit, 14 years are nothing. Need For Sped was a glorious series before Underground. There was no need to read reviews or ask friends, they were all very good games. Now NFS is just a meme series.
There is nothing wrong wit customization in general, it's a nice feature. My point is it makes more sense in Forza compared to NFS, paint jobs is one of the reasons.

Realism is not that important to me in games, especially arcade racers can be a lot of fun, but when it comes to customization I want realism. In Forza you got good subtile customization, in Need For Speed you got nigger/mexican tier customization.

Dirt 4 is kill.

who's car is this?

'87 Buick Regal.

Oh wait you asked who's it was. I have no fucking clue, I just took it off google.

Reverse image search just gave me a bunch of pinterest reposts.

I have a toaster and I want a game where I can do laps with an Enzo Ferrari, can you please suggest me a RACING MOTORSPORTS game based in that information.

Say it in my face mother fucker I'll break your fucking bones

THAT CAR IS FUCKING PERFECTION, but the Ford GT 17' looks nice too.

Or a Cerbera Speed 12

Forza 1-3 had those vehicles and I bet it would have run nice on a toaster if MS had released them for pc.

...

you looking for trouble?

But the Enzo IS ugly. It's too angular and something about the wheel set and rear end always made it look cheap for some reason.

Meanwhile there's the Maserati MC12 which is gorgeous. It's every bit as fast, and reviews said it was easier to drive as well aside from it's size.

The enzo is a piece of shit
t. Best Ferrari

Have so OC

I think if they made the model scale like dirt rally the game wouldn't be so bad. Dirt 4 seems so bunched together and cars look tiny.

I need a game where i can autistically drag race. ProStreet is crashing and glitching out on me for some fucking reason which is why i'm even bothering asking.
IF YOU OFFER ME SLRR I'LL COME TO YOUR HOUSE AND REPLACE YOUR CAR AND ALL RACING VIDYA AMENITIES WITH CHRYSLER-DAIMLER-MARKED DILDOES

modded beam.ng drive has some nice drag race shit

HAHAHAHA

So tell me, how many Le Mans victories does the Enzo have?

I'm still impressed at how exotic the GT '17 look compared to most american super cars.

please

so which is better AC or ProCars?
which one runs better in a low end pc?

neither

Just install underground 1/2 and a bunch of mod maps.

I just bought Dirt Rally, what is this leagues thing they have?

Do you know any better test for a cars speed and sturdyness than a 24 hour race?

fucking lmao the new micromachines game ripped off overwatch so much it's not funny.
They added loot boxes, tiered unlockable skins that you pay ingame currency for, with the most expensive ones being a complete remodel. They also changed it so you don't unlock skins when you win a race anymore and the single player campaign is gone.
Exactly what the fuck is this codemasters, what did you do?

Bethesda did some NHRA Drag Racing games for the PS2. I remember dropping it hard because I couldn't get the cars to go down the track so that might tickle your 'tism.

Also what is with Prostreet becoming unstable in years? I'm sure my copy still has fucked up controls. Despite the only recent change being going from an Nvidia card to an AMD card.

I know the MC12 is based off the Enzo mechanically, which show that the Enzo is just an ugly car when all the same parts fit under the much better looking IMO MC12 Which despite being supposedly gimped at the engine, the MC12 OUTDOES the Enzo in some tests.

First of all, Wat? There's a new Micromachines game? And it rips off Overwatch by having a bunch of stuff other assfaggots games have?

...

this is what the play option gives you and these are all the cars you can unlock. They all drive the bloody same.

Right, because Overwatch definitely invented skin microtransactions and lootboxes..

the ui is really similar see

anyway, I've been playing screamer 2 and it's a really fun old school racer, it's a copycat of sega rally before it had an official port.
