Except that's where your argument falls apart. If no one had logged in to "steal the FC" it would've gone to Al due to inactivity in a week or so after the supposed FC stealing. When the fc leaders decided on dealing with real life issues and stopped maintaining the guild like they were for the past two years, they gave it to two people, Aloise and Umbra. They are raising the amount of gil you can xfer but the trade off is you are rich in a dead server.

Less populated servers tend to have higher marketboard prices, while the more populated ones have cheaper MBs. The most popular servers were locked, so you can't get in their with your small fortune and ruin the economy even more, but now you can go to a small server and be just fine in terms of needing to buy things.

They've been dead silent on crafting, which is normal for them. The most they've said is "no more weekly scrip caps" and "specialist actions will be improved" (with literally no specifics).

Which probably means, "jack shit". Crafting is still too reliant on only a few actions from 2-3 classes. Along with how HW continued the trend of crafting for crafters. Unless you were the small group of people with penta-melded accessories.

The PvP changes really seem to benefit anyone but people who played Frontlines twice, got destroyed then bitched how it was too hard. What I would like to see are more support style skills that really make the WM feel useful to the team rather than having the mandatory healslot filled for whatever.

As it is right now WM doesn't feel fun and is more of a chore.

Something that lets me balance offensive and defensive power would be cool. I want skills that stack that I have to keep track of and combo off of for higher overall dps from the group and then during bossfights boost defensive power with those same mechanics.

Basically, I want it so that if you know what you're doing and do it well with a good party you can cut clear times by as much as a half or a fourth.

I want someone to see WM and think "If this guy is good this will good, if not this will be shit." and when you're doing a good job with your buffs people will stop and thank you because you actually make a difference rather than just fill the fucking slot.

Never do this. Clicking something "out of reach" depletes the bar, and when the bar is empty the item is revealed with no GP spent. With half-decent 50 gear (or just level 51 gear) the bar empties in one hit.

What? Being proficient at multiple roles isn't difficult in this game. Depending on what they do to some of the current tanks/healers it'll make people will switch to dps. Especially when the developers don't give enough of a shit to balance them. People that swear by WHM won't suddenly switch to fucking AST/SCH. They'll drop the role entirely and switch to dps or quit.

FF14 is fun, but SE are turbo-jews and the game is full of retards to varying degrees. The main issue with ff14 is that it gets stagnant very quickly and Yoshi is going to repeat arr for the second time with stormblood. That is, HW was played so safe that it was well known months ahead of time what content was going to drop and roughly when it would drop. I see SB being more of the same. Another major issue right now are the job and combat changes. They looked fantastic initially, but it does look like Yoshi may have completely fucked over some jobs again. It also doesn't help that a lot of the fanbase are complete cucks.

How do you tank without being scared? Healing is my comfort zone but tanking is generally more engaging, but I'm always afraid of fucking something up or not knowing the strategy and causing a wipe. What's the right mindset here? I play Scholar mainly and Warrior secondary.

Courage is not the lack of fear but the will to overcome it. Besides once you know the mechanics you wont feel any fear anyway.

One, trust your healer.
Two, pay attention to the aggro meter. It's impossible to over-aggro, so if you're not sure, just draw more.
Three, if you fuck up, your healer isn't some one-hit-kill squishy, they've got some health, so don't panic. Just focus anyone who isn't on you above all else.

Just tell your teammates at the beginning of the raid that you're new to tanking and ask their patience. There's a good chance one of them has played your class before and has some advice to give. That's what happened with me and GLD/PLD.

Do not be afraid. If you are afraid of fucking up then learn the basics to pad up your confidence.

The basics is run straight into mob, use AoE aggro ability (flash, unleash) a few times (2-4 times, up to you/your job) while going a bit further to tank the group assward towards party. Stun them if they are charging AoE, use defensive cooldowns if necessary, and use damage boosting CDs as well and time their usage well until the boss room. Most CDs will come back up after each fight so no worries here. Rinse and repeat.

For raid bosses, learn the mechanics you will be fine.

And also this . If your healer is not a complete moron, you will be fine. And if a mob escape your clutch just provoke them and follow up with range attack. If multiple mobs go after that stupid dps who thought aggro meter is dps meter and attacks a different target than what you are smacking. If they are clever enough for a dumbshit, they will run towards you, AoE them. If they are braindead retarded, run towards him and grab attention fast. Chances are once that idiot goes down, the healer is next.

Ah, thank you for the replies but maybe I didn't explain my situation very well. I am not new to tanking, I've tanked a lot of things, including 24 man raids and extreme trials (no savage raids though). It's true that tanking is easier if you know the mechanics but therein lies my problem. What I tend to do is heal during my first run of anything, then tank once I know and feel comfortable with the mechanics. I simply wish I had the courage to tank without knowing the mechanics, because there are people out there that have to do that and I want to be like them.

And in case you were wondering about the deaths the WAR and MNK died due to not moving on the first boss of Solhm Ah hard and exploded themselves.

I died at the very end of lava scorpion due to taking to 2 busters from the adds as the boss was at 1% HP, no one cared to kill them and I didn't care enough to heal myself.

It really is sad to see how bad Yoshi is just shitting on Whm. First, they lost granite skin and pro-shell and took a heavy nerf to Holy. Now they lost a chunk of their abilities for a shitty lily system, no utility and it looks like Holy got nerfed again from what I've seen of Bane.

The point is the same as having Ruin 1-3 or Stone 1-3 or ect. It grows with each xpac and so it is locked behind a level cap.

So out of all the stuff that's looking bad which jobs are actually looking good? When looking at the ninja changes it seems they only got their life made easier with no nerfs at all.

SCH gets huge buffs. AST gets nice buffs as well. PLD will shit on the other two tanks.

The only one that seems to have got it bad is WHM. Everything else is a minor improvement, whm kinda got dicked like that healslut job it is.

DRK and PLD sound like they're having some role reversal going on, but as far as I know neither of them are displacing WAR as the dedicated off-tank Job.

WAR is losing Bloodbath, Fracture, and Mercy Stroke from what I've heard. Their new gap closer doesn't sound useful at all, especially because it's competing with all your other Beast Gauge-using skills.
But hey, six Fell Cleaves is going to be a thing, apparently.

Apparently MNK's Riddle of Fire tooltip is mistranslated and is actually +30% damage -15% attack speed rather than the +20%/-30% that was getting thrown around.

Maybe at the moment. This expansion doesn't look or sound fun with the shit changes.

It's 6 fell cleaves for less damage than the current setup because of lower crit, no internal release, berserk nerfed to hell and back.

no, actually, nin makes it really damn fun. you get a number of ninjutsu you can weave in between skills this is great if you have good latency, and shitty if you do not including one that gives you haste, increasing your attack speed and lowering your GCD, as well as loads of general utility most of which is staying come xpac. your damage is nothing to sneeze at either.

dubs of sorta truth? yeah, im not happy about the WAR changes, but DRK doesn't look like it's being gutted. my biggest beef with the tank changes are the number of class-unique skills that got thrown into the X-role pool. let's just fuck up DRK and WAR when it comes to stuns for example. im never *not* going to have the stun on my bar, just because i'm too fucking lazy to micromanage my skills for specific content.

SCH got hit hard in Stormblood, they have 2 DoTs + shadowflare thats now on a 60 second CD instead of juggling 5 like a mad cunt, there only spammable AoE (Blizzard 2) is gone, Embrace got nerfed, Bane? has been gutted to the point of near uselessness (scales like Holy does, losing 20% of its damage per target), Aetherflow is 10% instead of 20% pretty much forcing you to take LD and Eos/Selene is going to take a huge loss in healing thanks to how shit pet scale with level. Really considering just dropping it in favor of AST unless they change shit, even then the rotation is fucking boring as shit now.

Meanwhile the only healer job that got a netgain from it all is fucking AST, the actual broken healer. B-b-but sch is broken because of f-fairy!

yeah that was my feeling too. the loss of bloodbath and mercy stroke means leveling a WAR is going to suck until you get self-healing via Path. plus you don't get a damage buff at 18 to level with, you get a slashing debuff. i'll take a global +20% to damage on all things instead of ~10% damage increase on one thing any day of the week.

bright side, it looks like the Eye buff is 30s long, something that's a nice QoL change. i'm level capped and have been since before 2.1, but a part of me still feels for any young WARbros who want to come up and don't have the job leveled already. gone will be the days of quickly soloing a "Kill all these X" FATE with BB + OP. not to mention how nice it felt to nail the incredibly awkward due to animation kill shot on mercy stroke during adds in an 8-man.

If 2 skills that are meant to do similar damage (200 potency) and one is doing what seems to ~50% more(300 Potency) it probably means the tooltip is wrong. Since shit like the MCH overheat tooltip says its a 20% damage penalty for overheating when its actually an increase instead I wouldn't be surprised if they got potency numbers wrong either

i think it's more the easter egg effect of it user, given that you have to mouse over the portrait for a moment to get the flavor quote. it's not something that's obvious at a glance; you need to look for it a bit.

SCH actually got buffed in it's single target DPS honestly. Broil 2 is 230 potency.

We lost Bio 1, which is 240 total potency, a single GCD that will instead be replaced by Broil 2 which is only 10 potency weaker.

We lose Aero which is a total of 200 potency, 30 potency weaker than Broil 2.

Shadow Flare is 250 total potency, but was on the GCD, it being an oGCD is actually a potency increase.

Reason being, previously having to cast 2 GCDs for 500 total potency, which frees up 2 GCDs for Broil 2s 460 potency, and a free oGCD 250 potency.

Overall though the biggest damage loss to all healers is the loss of the old +10% damage of all spells caster while under cleric stance. Now we don't have to stance dance because enough babies cried it was too hard, and they took away out free 10% damage with it, RIP.

Embrace nerf hurts, but honestly was kind of needed as much as you are memeing it, the fairy actually is the main healer of any competent raid group, she can and should out heal both healers.

But even with the embrace nerf, we are getting the fair channeled heal skills which is apparently a 480 potency regen. Which is pretty damn strong, and doesn't really come at any kind of opportunity cost to us, as we build up meter for it being using aetherflow stacks which is shit we do anyways.

SCH AoE DPS is however like you said completely destroyed, only reason I can think of is because of summoners, you would figure they could nerf bane on SMN and keep it the same on SCH with enhanced bane trait or something as they actually started to make job specific traits in the expansion.

It's being dumbed down further, every "revamp" to a class seems to just be a dps nerf or a utility nerf (except paladins because they're a class so simple it's impossible to fuck them up and even then they gave them a fucking attacking spell). "Lol bards don't need songs, they get damage instead"

If that were true, Whm wouldn't be labeled as the "pure healer" anymore. That label doesn't even make sense anymore given that that Divine Seal got nerfed and they now have to pay to get it back. The lily system itself is beyond retarded with how ill-thought it was, how bad the rng is and how tied it is to cure 1/2 spam. Even stoneskin was removed from the game, which is fucking retarded given how useful it was to help players survive attacks that would normally kill them. The Whm changes show how out of touch Yoshi (SE) is with the state of healing in this game. As others have said elsewhere, if SE came out and said Whm is meant to be baby's first healer then all of this would make sense and the Whm players that want more from the class could then fuck off.

The Smn changes are a mixed bag, with the Bane change being fucking retarded in general. However, it shows a trend of SE nerfing the shit out of aoe attacks with each expac. I'm confident that the Bane nerf will be common among the other aoes by the next expac if the 80% damage reduction still holds by sb release.

Brd losing Minuet was to be expected given how unpopular it was in hw. Mch losing Gauss barrel might feel awkward given that it was built around it. Normalizing the mana and tp regen abilities is fine to me and it looks like they aren't dps loses anymore. I just really wish SE would change the name of the ballads to fit the new changes.

Pld is looking amazing and the aoe attack has been asked for since 2.0. The magical damage attack looks great as well given their damage boost ability when over a certain threshold of mp. The War changes are a bit mixed. They look to remain largely unchanged with their spike damage being lowered in favor of greater sustained damage. Moving the damage buff ability doesn't well with me. Drk looks the same, but its identity as the magic tank seems to have been taken out. It still looks like it does a ton of damage, with more complexity than a Pld.

Blm is looking fantastic with thunder 2 being an aoe now and procing Thundercloud for great aoe damage. We also get a new aoe attack and far more mobility, which helps us out a lot. Ast looks great as a healer. They still don't have any aoe attacks before 50, which is pretty retarded. However, Sch got its aoe gutted as well, which looks to be the theme for SB.

We have plenty of information and are able to make intelligent guesses as to how little is going to change given sb is two weeks away. Ignoring what is going on in front of you, because Yoshi hasn't told you directly is retarded.

I'm not saying significant changes can't happen, but the likelihood of it is really small given how stubborn Yoshi is.

It's better to make noise now than wait a year or two before changes happen. Yoshi has shown that he will cave eventually if reception is negative. Also, we've already seen what raids like Midas and Gordias do to the raiding population. Wanting a repeat of that in sb shows that either you are new to ff14 from some other mmo or you are naive and yoshi is beyond retarded.

Just work on the basic 1-2-3 and look up some quick guides. I'd say to take all of the abilities you have on your bar and go look for a dummy to practice on, but it probably won't matter much given that SB is two week away. However, it will help you to go practice a basic rotation in front of a dummy for a while to get the hang of it. With practice, you'll eventually get to the point where you don't have to look down at your abilities for anything that isn't a cd or proc-related.

I'll add that from what I've seen, people are getting angry because Yoshi continues to be clueless. The reason for no new tanks and healers was that they were going to balance the ones we have and it now looks half-assed. Based on arr and hw, there won't be any real changes for a year or two. We're down to 1 dungeon per patch from the 2 of hw and the 3 of arr. It looks like SE is getting lazier and greedier with how jewish the cash shop is. Unfortunately for most, there are enough retards who will buy the crap on there, which means it will continue and possibly get more outrageous as time passes. Trolls and literal retards are also currently flooding forums everywhere either to start shit or to defend SE.

We should know how successful SB is within a year or so. How SE reacts to all of the negativity will be most telling of all. If they ignore it, then they're free to do as they please due to having enough people that are happy with the changes. If changes start occurring quickly, then that means someone is getting shitcanned.

Do you need to keep items to use them for glamour? I've been shoving old gear on my retainer just in case but I've almost filled one of them already.

You can use them to glamour other gear. You can also dye glamour gear and then use the dyed glamour gear to glamour the gear you want with that dyed color. This will save you a lot on paint.

Nah dungeons are pure cancer if you are trying to use them to level. People go slow, they die, overall its shitty for leveling. At least with potd you can do a 51-60 run in about 14 minutes on average.

POTD is just for leveling for the queue-able floors and dosh if you are lucky enough to have a group for the rest. That aside how the flying fuck does a minigame consisting of the same small handful of copy pasted tiles with a handful of skins take up so many resources that we lose those dungeons?

potd is fantastic for leveling dps classes. The queues are less than 5 minutes and you can get make some nice money from the drops. The grade 4 elemental materia still sell for a decent chunk of change and they sell quickly. The glamour items sell pretty well too.

From the above link and the glamour question that was asked, Yoshi is retarded if he thinks players are just throwing away their glamour gear. I remember when the reason we couldn't get stuff like glamour logs was ps3 limitations, so it looks like he's pulling more shit out of his ass.

It is boring for the most part, but it's fast and you don't need decent gear to make it far. You just need the aether gear and weapon levels you get along the way and to not be a mouth-breathing retard. Potd is very easy to level in. Having said that, I've seen groups wipe on the bosses for either ignoring mechanics or failing to meet dps checks.

Too bad SE won't ever just create a hub system like in RS, where you could jump from world to world. They could then just make housing its own world and let players move around. However, I doubt they have the expertise or the desire for that. It also doesn't help that ff15 and kh3 are both probably eating all of the money that is being made by ff14.

tbh, i would have liked to have seen a "let's work together" version where papalymo didn't die and omega weapon wasn't mcguffin'd into fighting shinryu and instead the WoD help the WoL and Scions disrupt Ilberds attempted summoning and instead utilize the gathered aether as a means of revitalizing the Mother Crystal. this would have been the "redemption" of the WoD and with her newfound strength, Hydaelyn/Minfilia would have had the power to send the WoD back and give them another chance to hold off the wave of Light that destroyed their world.

it's a balance thing. think FF3; too much light or too much darkness overwhelms a world, destroying it. the 13th shard was overwhelmed by darkness, being closest to the darkness, and so became The Void. i dont think we know what shard the WoD came from, but their world was closest to the light, so it was easy for it to become overwhelmed by the Light. in order for their to be life on a world you need a balance of both light and dark. one can't overwhelm the other, but the Ascians have been attempting for force worlds to be consumed via triggering cataclysms so that they can release the stored aether in those worlds back to Hydaelyn/Zodiark and trigger the Rejoining of the two aspects back together as one.

also, it's speculated that the world of the WoD was the one most recently consumed in the cataclysm that was the awakening of Bahamut from Dalamud prior to the start of ARR, and that this relative recency is part of why Minfilia/Hydaelyn is able to work with the WoD to push back the wave of light that destroyed their world and restore it to it's former state.

Those glamour excuses are such bullshit. Keeping track of model/skin IDs are unlocked is a lot less data than an inventory slot and even if it wasn't, for the sake of argument, they could easily attach it to an NPC/system that calls the information from a dedicated storage rack. That's one of the reasons why WoW's void storage thing is separated from other storage systems and why it places certain restrictions, like it removing enchantments and such, because it stores just the item ID.

It's also the reason the armoire doesn't save materia, glamours, or dyes, and requires 100% durability to store things.
