I have never finished a game of warband and I never will

over 700 hours in and I still have never finished a single game of warband.

And you never will. MB is a game you play to unwind for a couple of hours. You can't seriously think you can take over the whole map.

I've almost done it in my vanilla game, just six cities left. Now I'm taking a bit slow but the end is in sight. I haven't spent nearly 700 hours either, maybe 100..

Zat's a nice head ya have on yar shoulda

I loved the original mount and blade, and for the life of me I just couldn't get into warband.

They're the same fucking game with added sandniggers to bully

How do you folks usually level up your own character?

More accurately do you give any shit about party skills?
I'm wondering if it's worth it to max some of the party skills for that +4 bonus as the trade-off would be to be weaker in fighting.

I put all of my points into strength up until I meet the requirements for the strongest weapons/armors, then enough into agility for 4 or 5 riding with the rest going into charisma.

I keep two companions exclusively for party skills; one with trainer, engineering, spotting, and pathfinding plus another for medical.
One issue you'll unfortunately run into with this method is that your int characters can hardly get experience in battle, so you will need to develop a high level companion with trainer as well.
I personally don't think its worth leveling party skills on your character, especially on harder mods like prophesy of pendor.

he's just a contrarian

they really need to make a mod that makes tournaments more often and with more detail
floris lets me select weapons, horses and native/city map, but i wish they'd let me make it more like a regular jousting tournament, or at least let me select exactly which map it is
at this point i've made tournaments 1v1 with two handed weapons, otherwise it's a clusterfuck where everyone 1shots me

1257AD has this. You can choose the good old melee or a joust where you go 1v1.
What I want for the next game is better audio design. Hit sounds in Warband are categorized like this:
You get the idea. What we need is for it to depend on the kind of armor that the enemy is using instead of just being a generic hit sound. Even shit games like Dungeons and Dragons Online have this.

It's entirely doable.

There's just nothing left to do once you've done that , though.

Personally I've found that it's usually better to make yourself into an unstoppable killing machine and leave all the bitchwork for companions to do.

I can't live without 30 CHA

Every other point spent is mod-dependent.

isn't that overkill?
i've got around 20, and if i'm a lord that brings me to a 140 unit cap
250 if i'm a king

I like to bring a ton of high-cost troops and I leave space in my inventory for loot, less than 30 CHA to max out my Leadership and I start to have cost/morale issues.

Also comes in handy for bonuses to Trade (not to mention extra prisoners) so I alleviate a little more of the costs.

have you ever tried cheating in cha and then courting ladies? depending on the lady even 50 cha will give you -2 points, it's absurd.

I'm a great generalist. I took Charisma to 18, got leadership to 6 and read the book for +1, I got intelligence to 15, for 5 persuasion and read a book for +1, I got agility to 15 for a 5 weapon master and a book for +1. I'm not completely happy with my skill allocation but it's pretty dam good for a first run effort. Having a 2 provides a +1 party bonus and acts as a backup when your companions take a nap. (Many of the 1st or 2nd points are free because of how I started or books)

Followers all either get a good intelligence
or agility and max as much as possible 2 party skills. The rest they spend on being combat capable, and they are fairly good at it.

What mods give player kings the extra army?

Anyone played Blood & Gold: Caribbean? Is it any good? I'm in a mood for a naval game.

...

as far as i understand the bonus troop capacity is from native, so everything gets it
you get like 30+ troops for being a lord, and around 100 if you're a king
i think, i could be wrong

Not good, plus you are paying for an unfinished mod

;^)

What's so bad about it? How is still unfinished? I was really looking forward to this game.

...

just the mod is unfinished.

nigger, I earn money with microsoft word and save money with utorrent.

Yeah.. no.. .. in native you only get troops for base (30) + charisma (x1), leadership (x5) and reknown (/25).

In other mods You get some nice bonus army sizes like ACOK but I'm not sure if "king" is one of those as that mod is hard as fuck.

forgot pics.
I've taken Warcheng since I made this map, conquest in the air.

well i'm talking about floris right now, during the short time i had a castle all to myself, my army cap was around 250
after i lost it i joined the nords and they gave me a village, and later castles, so i'm at around 140 right now
my base was just a bit over 100 with my leadership/charisma, probably higher by now

nice, i'll get around to that eventually, i'm concurrently playing vanilla, nipppon-mod and GoT-mod, and it's enough for now. plus i've started games in like 10 other mods

If I max out a skill at 10 can I read a book to make it 11?

no

iv'e done it twice in vanilla for the achievements, kill me

...

ah shit i didn't clip that. fook. :/

Yeah and there's nothing special after that. No big peasant revolts. No usurpers with huge followings. Just you, your butter and a shitton of denars. Giving the game a major diplomacy and politics game would've made it so much more fun.

I hope you at least had fun.

I'm very much hoping that Bannerlord has some more dynamic stuff. It doesn't have to be complex, just something that guarantees that something will always happen. Since it's confirmed that you can permakill any named NPC, maybe the game will generate or allow modders to create new NPCs periodically, or even have multiple player characters exist in one save, like when you lose a battle and a sea raider actually ends up drinking from your skull so, prompting you to make a new character.

No, it's just that persuasion sucks more than it should.

Depends on the skill and the mod but generally yes.

But yeah INT focus character is most fun I had min maxing all bonuses and having shit tone of points. My only problem is that besides Surgery there is no skill to get to 10.

inventory management/faster party healing

Floris makes Inventory Management much weaker.
Never had problems with healing. Everything smaller than 500 units just melts from my charge.

Maybe something like in Medieval 2 Total War, if a Manhunter group or similar gets enough renown they get a named captain or some shit.

was foraging from INT? could use that+inventory management to starve castles during sieges

Ok now this is something I never did. Might try.
Unfortunately it is AGI, but I still have points left for bonuses and Agi companion.

It gets the defenders to sally out in one wave instead of choking your high tier units to death (So you can choke them instead). It's quite worth it, but you might need quite a while and multiple engagements until they surrender

Boo that sucks.

Hooray.

I set off to do this every time I get into this game, but soon give up because I realize it's an overwhelming chore and test of golden patience for no real reward.

I agree the burdens of empire are heavy on the crown, but one that I must carry for the sake of the people.

I think a simple addition of mercenary companies other than your own would do a lot for the game. They could even become lords if they have a lot of renown.

...

He's trying to hide and go unnoticed, so he shaved

15 str
the rest is agi
I am the biggest nigger around and I roll at the speed of sound

day 1552.

I can't bring myself to take more then a couple of castles or a city in a single play session because . However, progress is being made slowly. I have found 3 methods for end-ish game captures.

1) bring 4000 troops to a castle of 300, drink a coffee out of range and wait to have to solo the castle with 6 housecarls or 6 sharpshooters with shields and spears inside.

2) take my own personal army to a castle, do all the work and for some reason you don't have to do the "the last defenders" part it seems, so far, IDK.

3) bring 4000 guys to a castle, rape it, get my ass kicked by those 6 housecarls, disband my war party and kill whatever remains with just my personal army, avoiding having to kill a 400-500 garrison solo and also skipping the having to get fucked by soloing (with 2 stupid archers maybe) a courtyard and castle with 5-8 elite troops.

I do look forward to the end of vanilla campaign.. so fucking much.

If they're called huscarl in game then what's with this faggot hipster bong spelling? And I'm calling bullshit on "solo". What, not a single friendly unit spawns with you?

So, 1552 days in you still don't get that units closer to the top of your army list enter the battle sooner? ayy

1.come on don't be spelling faggot.
2.by solo i meant my army vs my entire kingdom's forces.
3. I cannot control my other lords "top list", for example I never get companions to do those missions and indeed I always get cucked going into those final events with shit troops.

You will never conquer the towns of 'paused' or 'training field' no matter how hard you try.

Well, fuck. That may be some of the shittiest luck I heard about then.

That's not close to what you said. It's not even under the same point

will a 1.172 mod worth with version 1.168?

Man i completely forgot how fun the battles can be when you have a lance with fast horse and an open terrain for battlefield and a bunch of weak bandits as your enemies.
Makes me feel like a hunter circling around his prey and all.

1.172 only did minor bugfixes and multiplayer stuff i think, should work

Some information from the gamestar mag apparently

Also everyone will be non binary.

I'm either hoping its release this year or next and i just hope its optimized

I hope they released it before Trump/Russia invade turkey

Somehow it's my greatest fear it'l run like piece of shit as didnt they say it should have battlesizes up to 1000 now?

They said the engine could handle battles of that size, and theoretically even higher, not that they will be in the vanilla game.

Also, they said the engine can render huge maps, but not that they would be featured in the vanilla game.

I think it's a pretty smart way of handling this. They leave the game engine open ended enough so future hardware will have the muscle to handle ever more ambitious mods. I'm just hoping the quest scripting is robust enough to allow for complex quests with a lot of skill checks and that the scripting in general allows for more complex world interactions.

Maybe, I was using "solo" in two contexts.

A) While assulting a city/castle solo means my army without any assistance from my kingdoms lords.

B) Solo in reference to the "You have taken the city/castle but some troops are holding in the inner courtyard/castle" aspect after defeating the main force. I usually get pulled into these things with 2 scrub troops (that are not even mine) that instantly commit suicide. Leaving me with a room full of angry "houscarls" (6-8 of them). This also forces me to be a little bitch before these events because if my health is too low I'll literally stand no chance of success.

50/50 chance they might go "FUCK IT, let the modders fix our shit" and most of it might be half ass

Speaking of quests, if anything i hope there's some checks in place to make sure that you dont need to escort shit like cattle or caravans all the way from the other end of the map to the other.

Just now i got a caravan escort quest i could say feels like a weird miracle as it's from Sargoth to Tihr as in right next door which is pretty damn rare.

how might one go about doing this?

work for boomers

So long as they leave most of the game moddable autism will fix it.

That would be pretty bad considering the map is now four times as big too.

The pay is relative to the distance
I loved this in 1257AD

I'm trying 1257 now, seems a little light on small-sized armies to fight. I started as an English vassal, theoretically would like to take over the isles and expand out from there.

With several mods, I've had the problem that the colors are off, especially on the map. Take these pics from 1257. The light parts seem to glow white-gold while the darker ones seem stale and desaturated. Is that a known problem and if yes, do you know how to fix it?

It looks like the bloom form nova aetas, I haven't played 1257 in years so I don't know if they added bloom to it or anything. Try this and see if it helps at all.

forums.taleworlds.com/index.php?topic=338823.0

Isnt it just money though or do you get increased Rep with the cities in question too from the missions?

I don't remember, as far as I know it's money and experience.

in 1257 what effect if any does the culture of the mercenary recruits have? ie catholic, othordox, muslim or whatever.

That did it, thanks.

>finally get single unit (Floris)
Well.. tough luck i guess.

slavers are generally pretty weak
they're only good because they're cavalry and have big shields, but nearly any group can kill them easily

Does anyone ever finish a game of mount and blade?

...

I haven't. Whenever I'm in control of half the map it just feels too easy, then I either start a new mod or stop playing for a few months.

Disable bandit heroes

no effect
the guy finished the mod and didn't get to implement anything related to that

yep, you get some rep points if I'm remembering correctly

Which vanilla mod was it that allowed you to fight in another lord's army? You'd progress through the troop tree and be given the appropriate equipment for your type, I thought it was pretty neat.

Freelancer.

Has anyone played that calradi at war mod? It is pretty good if you want a lightly enhanced vanilla experience. It also satisfies that awkward middle period by making bandits stronger.

Do the artillery on Parabellum not work for anyone else? They fucking kill me and my troops along with the enemies if I'm near the border of the map.

I WANT MY BANNERLORD GOD DAMN, GIVE IT TO ME MY BALLS ARE PURE PURPLE FROM BEING TEASED FUCKING TALEWORLDS TURKROACHES PLEASE

never ever

White and gold? It's black and blue dummy.

2018

kill me

There are people who don't use that battle strategy?

There was a newfag not so long ago that didn't know that you culd give orders to specific classes

Was there anything else to positive bandit/deserter reputation than them not attacking you?

how would you even get positive reputation with them anyways

ok, thanks

i got it. haha

I've even seen jewtube cancer that didn't know how to play even though they had a video "how to play" one guy was jumping around in melee like a spaz, he was obviously on 1/4 damage.

In some mods you can choose who to side with in a battle, I'm pretty sure your relations with the bandits will grow if you come in to save them.

i'm not sure if it was for all mods, but i do remember if your reputation with bandits gets too bad, they stop accepting bribes and attack you regardless
so i'm assuming that they won't attack you if your reputation with them is good

is the troop ai in 1257 a bit weird?

archers standing in packs below the ridge so they can't assist their forces being taken out.
all troops "retreating" all the time in a backwards way that is just weird.
all troops not assisting combat of nearby guys because they in a "pack"?

You cunt you're supposed to win tournaments and dedicate them. Or only profess your love to ladies that don't try to dismiss you.
Seriously, if the lady doesn't say something with the 3 dots in the end like "now, if you will excuse me…" you're 100% guaranteed to have a positive outcome.

You're supposed to get a few extra maximum units depending on your renown, don't worry about that. I mainly use leadership so my troops are sustainable.

In Floris you can atleast, i have my reputation with Outlaws at 20 now but no differences other than them not attacking me

I have this recollection that there was something more to bandits, like you being able to have your own bandit lair or something but i guess that was a mod i played back in the days before Warband.

i hate the idea of m&b esports, but the dueling does look fun

I had no idea that M&B esports even existed.

The depravity of the jock knows no bounds.

JUST GIVE ME BANNERLORD YOU MOTHER FUCKERS REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

I used to be big into the online community way back. I was a founder of the GK clan that runs all the big US servers these days. M&B dueling is awesome and theres a lot more depth than it lets on.
But better than dueling was formation battles imo, which no one really does outside Napoleonic anymore sadly. I remeber good old Formation Battle Sundays, where clans would form small armies and we'd have 100+ combatants fighting in massive shield walls with commanders and everything. The game is totally different when you have two competent humans giving orders. I would always lead the cavalry for GK, many great charges were made and many battles turned. Damn I miss it after thinking about it, I hope Bannerlord rekindles them.

LOL WHO CARES COOP CAMPAIGN AND MORE ESPORTS XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

Paradigm Worlds is probably the most interesting mod put out recently. Its got a weird mishmash of shit, and some of the textures are a bit wonky for the sci-fi guys, but I like it.

Duels are pretty boring, team games are where it's at.

...

...

You know it will mate. That said. Did any anons played PW, or was it strictly normalfag internet drama territory?

Played on a casual PW server where people would invent their own factions on the spot and invite anyone to be part of it. Great fun. Until a bunch of elitist clan faggots took over, making the same factions, powergaming and only allowing their clan members to join.

How many days do you're of games usually take?
I'm at level 25 and on my 51th day and havent yet joined any faction though i'l probably plan eventually on joining Swadians and maybe trying to get the claimant on the throne and then afterwards seizing it myself.

i'm somewhere around day 700
i joined the nords after my newly founded kingdom fell due to the game having unrealistic expectations of me

I played on one for a bit a few years ago. It can actually be pretty fun if you just let yourself go in the roleplaying and youre on a server where people are actually having faction stuff going. I remember once saving someone with a group from a public execution by sneaking into their town and sniping the axeman with a crossbow and having a horse set up nearby for them to escape. It was fun.

Finish university, get a job that allows you to finish work at home so you don't always have to grind in the office.

I'm on day 1552 (still), 3 factions remain with 2 cities and a couple of castles each. I've got the rest of the map. With some pushing I could finish it at 1600, but more likely I will over build until 1600 and go in and clean house after that.

Elaborate, 700 days should be more or less a golden time to start a kingdom. If you had a proper income and right to rule you should have been a-ok.

i've mentioned it in an earlier thread
conquered a castle from the now nord-controlled swadian lands
nords immediately offered me peace, so i had an easy time arming the castle with rhodoks/swadians
but then suddenly swadia resurges in a city right next to me, it's still at war with me from before it was destroyed, and harlaus shows up at my castle with a few lords totalling a 900 man army

I assume he got bullied by several kingdoms all at once. And no, rtr in the 60s only helps but it doesn't guarantee anything.

I found a pretty effective way to cut that in 1/3rd. Essentially support a claimant you have no intention of actually supporting but instead use him to train everyone. Works like a charm on mods that have lords and kings level 50+

ah you're that guy that was a shit deal

if you work for a claimant its the same as being in a faction i'm not sure distinction you're trying to make.

I'm trying super hard to find a mod I really like. I've played like 10 and all of them have some serious flaws.

1257, weird fucking ai on the field.
nippon-mod, fortress-walls-defense sucks dick
acok, ruthless, grinding you will never win.

1257AD has its own AI. It's to make sure they stay in formation.
Also archers from attacking side don't shoot during siege for some reason. Don't know if that got fixed.

It works better than vanilla actually, because it makes them try to stay close to other units as if they actually feared death and being too far from the formation

but half the time they just fucking seem to do nothing and in the weirdest places.

...

It looks like I fucked up my Nippon run, I joined the faction of this bitch with a large family, been visiting her once a month, kissing her (guardian) brother's ass. Finally get around to asking him if I can talk to her now that I've got a castle and he's like "No, never because you didn't ask in advance".. is there any way to resolve that besides eloping?

ah, I wasn't aware that claimants join your party, that is really uh– well, nice.

Convenient, more like it. And especially since it also works on companions.

I-I didn't want to play that mod anyways.

Always alt-enter before you alt tab.

fuck him up repeteadly and steal his fiefs until he gets exiled out of revenge or if the mod permits it, kill him. also elope or kidnap his sis.

You didn't choose Realistic mode then?

I never thought of that, thanks user.

No, I always pick savescum mode so that I can save before alt+tabing. I forgot this time and didn't make a single save for that character.

You brought this on yourself user.

You deserve to be Khegrit's rape slave.

I know user, I know.

I'm sure that would be insulting to their horses some way or another.

With some quests, the ones those lords give where you need select amount of some random enemy soldiers as prisoners in particular are fuck you and encourage savescumming if anything.
Like hell im going to hunt some obscure piece of shit units to take as prisoners but dont say yes and ;lel -1relations because fuck you.

The only way this could be made better is village units were completely worthless without hundreds of mon in upgrades. :^)

that's better than vanilla

Every time I alt-tab I crash so I play in windows mode because I alt-tab out of games with out ever even thinking about it. (windows mode doesn't crash)

I feel you, I can't make shit in Geko either. Besides vanilla though, Perisno (v.81) is quite fucking relaxed compared to other mods. Yes, top end armor costs 200k but your not starving or just able to afford bread/rice and not being able to afford to buy an entry level bow for a month because of how tight cash is.)

I want to make my companions look like veteran mercenaries armed to the teeth but… how do i make them use as many different types of weaponry in battles as possible?

For an example, Rolf has a 1handed-sword on his first slot, shield on the second and 2handed sword on the last but even though the 2h-weapon is on the last slot he still uses it almost every change he gets even when on foot and about to get peppered by arrows.

AI is fugged when you give npcs more than one of the same kind of weapon. Just don't give them 2 melee weapons or 2 ranged weapons. Unless it is a mod that has a system in place to prevent this, like breaking lances/spears or special AI.

Hmps sucks, guess i'l just throw them with sword+shield+thrown/bow then.

Was thinking if i could make one with sword on hip, shield on back, 2hander on back and dagger on front hip or forgo the shield and some darts on another side of hip just for the looks but my autism doesnt allow weapons to be just… decorative.

Anyone like L'aigle? im enjoying the mod so far but its a pain in the ass to maintain my first captured city, any tips?

...

It works ok when you do 1 melee weapon, 1 ranged weapon and 1 polearm.

While that is theoretically useful blunt weapons always fall behind other types (in my experience) and after money is no longer a thing, prisoners just become a hassle to manage. Therefore if you wanted two weapons you would likely be using cut and pierce regardless. Instead of the blunt command, or in addition to it, it would be nice if we had the "use a shield faggots" command or "get your bow (ranged weapon) out dip shits" command.

I started my own kingdom on the floris mod.

Is there any way to start a war with another kangdom without losing honor?

you should always use blunt for 1h because much greater damage to armored opponents and faster killing power than spears on horseback

Does anyone have a download link? I remember there being one but I'm p sure it got removed. I've been looking everywhere for it. Pl0x help me

Does the torrent's multiplayer work?

Probably but is it worth the hassle? Release a couple of lords and you get it back.

You don't if you want them to actually do shit in addition to looking pretty. 1 ranged, 1 one-handed and a shield for best results.

No.

Piercing weapons do more damage than blunt weapons almost across the board, and if you're on horseback it's better to have a longer weapon since the speed bonus gives you huge damage anyway, doesn't matter if you have a mace when your opponent can hit you from farther away with his sword.
I like maces, but you're just wrong. Better to use a military pick if you want to damage past armour.

Here's a link for Dickplomacy if anyone needs it:

mediafire.com/file/vlm7i33oottn951/Dickplomacy_4.3.0.7b.7z

No user, you are.

# You can modify the damage system by editing the following values:# The first three values determine the amount which will be directly subtracted from damage due to armor.# The next three values determine the percentage reduction from the damage.armor_soak_factor_against_cut = 0.65armor_soak_factor_against_pierce = 0.35armor_soak_factor_against_blunt = 0.3armor_reduction_factor_against_cut = 1.0armor_reduction_factor_against_pierce = 0.65armor_reduction_factor_against_blunt = 0.50

And that's not factoring prisoners, inherit stagger blunt weapons have, how their damage isn't reduced when the shaft hits as dedicated (p) are or how they often have guard break. Or how you're full of shit in regards to their damage. Alternatively stack power attack and high base (s). And to further add insult to injury the objectively best warband lance is in fact a (b).

Now to be fair (p) are great to poke over the wall during sieges or to pike heavy cavalry but that's what NPCs are for.

There is another advantage to cut/pierce weapons over blunt
They cause more enemy casualties, and if you get stuck in long consecutive sieges, the enemy has no wounded troops that could potentially recover over the siege.
That said, my main weapon tends to be axes since it lets the pleb troops destroy shields making enemies more vulnerable.

What long sieges? If you're silly enough to try and starve him out the rest of his army will come and bully you regardless of any wounded. And that's negligible in back-to-back assaults. He'll get what, maybe ten to fifteen 5% HP troops in a fight that's several hundred on each side? Big deal. Especially since they're more of a liability in the AI meatgrinder melee

Danaxes are amazing but for me at least they lack that 140-160 sweetspot for dealing with either cavalry or multiple opponents or that 80-90 for infighting.

Now so we're clear the awlpike and the morning star are something else. One's nasty as all hell with the WFAS overhead stab and the other is the implement of rape: guard break edition.

No, I'm thinking of those 3000 man sieges the AI likes to put you through when you first become king. Especially the ones that siege you 5 times in a row.
I first noticed this problem in WFAS when I got the black mace. As good as the weapon was, enemy numbers weren't dropping between sieges and I eventually figured out it was the maces fault.

You make it sound like you stack more bodies than all of your troops combined or how all the wounded will actually fight in the back-to-back fights.

As for blunt being viable I successfully took major enemy garrisons with either dwarves, ebony gauntlets or custom kanabo and tetsubo assault hatamoto. And my impression is that the enemy simply can't deal with the hammering of a dedicated (b)lob.

I am dropping more bodies than all my troops combined, the black mace is literally the best weapon in the game.
65 b damage
Extra damage to shields
Can crush through blocks
Increases troop max by 50
Every time I swing it, an enemy is knocked out.
And wounded troops will fight in the next battle since enemy lords sit there in front of my castle for weeks at a time to prepare for sieges, giving them time to heal their troops.

user, I know what that weapon is. I also know you'd get fucked trying those shenanigans without either 1/4 player damage or playing with 150+ troops.

Sure you are. Listen, we all had our blood and honor or damocles phase where you jump into his blob and laugh and reap away but that's not remotely the same as playing vanilla or worse tier mods where top of the line plate armor gives you maybe two or three additional hits and you get your ass pincushioned before you get a chance.

That doesn't hold water either unless you can fly over the ladders or if you wait for 20 minutes for them to expend their ammo at max range.

(p) spears or pikes work for the AI because they can and will strike thru friendly targets or even solid geometry. With that said they lose on their damage when short weapons like battleaxes, mallets or maces run up in their face and start wailing. A player can admittedly do work with halberds and such mid length but that involves backtracking and tactics the companion AI is incapable of.

They also have the benefit of faster recovery and a better chance of caching a single opponent instead of having someone next to him block it. And that armor penetration or stagger is nothing to sneeze at.

It's hours at best with half decent engineering once you get past the initial setup.

Are you not reading anything I write? I am the one being sieged. The reason why I can take out so many soldiers is because I sit next to the ladder and hit them as they come in. The reason why sieges have 2 week gaps in between each siege is because AI lords are the ones doing the sieges.
What the fuck is this autistic shit?
It's not a mod moron, it's the shitty gun expansion, With Fire and Sword.

I am but I'm not sure why I bother. The topic was companion outfitting in WB or floris if you want to nitpick but you keep pitching in with your experience playing on easy in WFAS.

And speaking of morons - what's stopping you from sallying out and ruining his presumably wounded as fuck army? Sure they probably still have the numbers but their best troops are out of the action.

You want to outfit companions? Get axes, it breaks shields making them good when in groups because everyone benefits and as an earlier user pointed out, high base damage + power strike outweighs armour.
Because my army is also wounded as fuck genius, turns out that not playing on easy meant that a lot of my soldiers got knocked out.

Because there are plenty of shields in WFAS, right? :^)

And that was me even though I fucked up and wrote (s) instead of (c). The added armor penetration and stagger do make a difference when sergeants, mamluks or whatever are involved but yeah, drowning them in huscarls is a time honored WB tradition.

Also top shelf backtracking: one moment you're playing king of the hill ramp that kills wounds by the hundreds and no musketman can take down and the next you're about muh army. If you have to fight whole armies, fight in cities you own so you can sally out with 700+ strong garrisons. Alternatively move your cavalry to the top of the list and straight up attack him. Either way at worst you end up 1/3 and with better quality troops you should beat those odds.

Backtracking? I explained exactly how I was able to kill those hundred of troops. I sat behind a wall next to the ladder, allowing me to kill the enemy army one at a time while my own army distracted them with healthbars and occasionally a musket shot. The end result is me with hundreds of kills yet not willing to sally out to meet the 1500 strong army with my 100 living troops and 300 wounded ones.
I eventually beat the army by swapping out the mace for a polearm and doing the same trick but killing instead of wounding.

No, you didn't mention using a polearm and I'm still calling you out as the shitter that you are. Even more so since you apparently can't into prepwork and try fighting whole kingdoms with paltry 400 troops. To be in melee range with the (black) mace you have to expose yourself to ranged fire on the open part of the platform, and doing that is ridiculous unless the battle size is something pathetic or you reduced player damage so muskets feel like mosquito bites.

Anyway either use what I told you or don't but this prattle went too long as is.

Not true, I had a whole kingdom of feasting butterlords to help me. Too bad they were busy at the time.
Also wrong, the ladder in Smolensk is protected by walls, allowing me to hide behind them to not get hit by musket fire.

Dickplomacy is on moddb like every seemingly all the major mods.
moddb.com/downloads/dickplomacy-4307b

I wonder if there's a realism mod where weapons that are too big to have a sheath model (pikes, long spears etc) gets dropped if you change your weapons. It would make for awlpikes and the like to be a more mainstay of the battlefield.

RIP third dyeworks

Hmm fair point. I could get the honor back easily.
When I declare war on the smallest faction, the biggest faction declares war on me. And I lose relation with all my lords.

It would be cool if I could get a vassal to start the war for me or something.

I guess I just have to wait until I can beat every other faction at once before I declare war.

I really wish you had more than 4weapon slots ingame, perhaps tied to the location where your weapon is or something…

I really wish throwing weapons weren't shit-tier

usually someone will declare war with you soon enough especially if you have some lords with -negative relations doing shit like burning enemy villages for you. (even if they don't know they are your tool)

maybe shit tier (not really) but you can carry sword+board, lance and thown.. can't do that with a bow.

You have far less ammunition, fuck all range (meaning that you have more of a need for a shield than bow users), worse accuracy and not enough damage to make up for these drawbacks. The only moment throwing weapons are worthwhile is when you have a shitload of units using them at the same time and even then there's better choices.

Depends on the mod. On 1257 for example throwing weapons are fucking overkill. I dare you to try and conquer a fort in the baltic area.

I like the Horse Archer playstyle too much to throw my bow'n arrows away but on the other hand shield is a must atleast when on foot because archers so that leaves you with just 1handers or spears and most cool spears either cant be usen while horseback or with a shield so i allways end up hacking shit with sabres.
Too lazy to swap the weaponry away depending on what kind of battle is about to happen… ;__;

I may remember wrong but didnt those have the same sounds as horses do?

In vanilla sword/board and bow is the only logical choice for your own guy, I pick up a couple lancers, crossbows and thown npcs just to mix it up a bit though. Seems like most mods nerf archery and 1 hand swords both just don't do enough damage against "super-duper-extra-thick-plated-steel-tank-elite-horse-guy".

I'm talking about single player, fighting bots. If you've played the game for long enough, you can easily abuse AI to successfully hit 'n run with a short weapon, even when fighting spearmen.

well, they do make "hoofed running" noises, i never heard them "whiny" or something though.

then do if they run into stuff just like horses, also wolves from wolf knights and wyverns and dragons all do it

It's whatever though, I don't expect much from M&B mods, just for the funs

Also the only 1h blunt weapon worth using is the military hammer. If you get a heavy military hammer (33b), have decent power strike and 1h proficiency, you can all around rape every enemy on the field in 1-2 hits. It hits very fast, at any angle or speed on horseback, on foot or not. The military pick is very similar, but deals piercing damage which is inferior against armor. It's not much better against unarmored either because the hammer will kill them just the same.

is there a new more complete version of 1257? like more recent then 4 years ago new?

Are there certain lords that are more likely to pillage or mess up relations? How would I find that out so I can station them on the border?

I already had a border incident which makes it easier for the people I want a war with to declare war on me. But i dont think they are going to do it because all my castles and towns near them are very well defended.

Should I deliberately leave a castle lightly defended? Maybe they will declare war then?

mountandblade.wikia.com/wiki/Lords
Although I could tell you directly, being able to tell them apart from their dialogue options is worth it.

OK So I take it I should put quarrelsome or martial lords on the boarder?

It says on that page that some lords dont like being released when you defeat them in battle but it doesnt say which ones. How do I figure that out?

You figure it out based on how they respond, for example ones that tell you to call back your dogs are very clearly going to be pissed at you no matter what you do, while ones that say that they yield will be grateful.

jesus christ yes.
I started out as a sword-and-boardfag and hated riding horses because swinging on horseback is trash.
the moment i landed a solid couched hit i never went back
its THE way to play

Swinging with a reach 50 weapon may suck but as soon as you get something around 100, all weapons are fine, npcs also seem good enough at using short weapons on horse but i hate it. Lances on some mods break after 1 or 2 hits, so you can't kite an entire army down to nothing.

but you have to admit that nothing tingles your scrotum like barreling a nigga off his horse at 500MPH

also every mod i've ever played basically breaks horse archery to shit-tier.

Only mods that fuck HA are ones where good bows are locked to infantry.

i would rather ride into a group of archers on any day over a group of spear chuckers.

I wish M&B had proper physics

Even if you're a meleefag it's better to swing your cavalry around and have them charge when they have a direct line of sight of the enemy archers, they cut them down as a group faster than you can letting you focus on the enemy heavies.

...

The only acceptable way to play persino is to bully everyone with the dorfbros while riding a majestic mammoth and you know it. You flower prancing, wine drinking, cancer greentexting, can't-turn-a-profit, pussy riding and behind a bitch hiding, race traitor flaming faggot.

To be fair, we already have enough fat, hairy, "women" with facial hair in real life, games should be fine for escaping from that for a while.

All I got to say to cuckfags is homies over hoes.

um.. could spoiler that.. lol
whose cucked?
race traitor? you are a dwarf rl? nice.
elf wine is healthy

Yeah? So are enemas. And I'm sure you get plenty of both when that bitch and Ser Tyrone take turns reaming your sissy ass. All that shit aside did you leak from fucking facebook or something? This is worse cancer than anything I'd expect from the usual suspects. Fucking lols, rls and shitHave some class even when shitposting, you faggot.

Bannerlord better let me ride around and abduct a harem of princesses.

How do you fucks expect to create an Eternal Dragon Reich if you're rolling in the dirt with elves and dorfs?

Playing Perisno right now, which part of the games code where it handles prisoner persuasion. I have Persuade of 10 and char of 40 yet it still not enought to convince strong prisoners (Eagle Lords, Demon Invoker, and so on) to join my party

idk but with a persuasion of 3 and lv20 you can't even convert a slave girl.

Its been awhile, but I believe you have to be at a higher level than the target, also some are just non-recruitable.
Phosphor may have taken that out, but the magic users in it almost make the mod unplayable.

I was going thinking about going Reich but the princess was martial and the elf princess was upstanding.

Fucking noobs, I finished vanilla campaign on day 4300. Could have finished earlier if I wanted, but I spent a lot of days being a beginner.

CHA is the first thing I always max out because I modded my Persuasion skill to be CHA-dependent (it has no business being INT-dependent, you can be dumb as a rock and be persuasive IRL, like a gypsy or a merchant). But anyway, yeah, there's no reason to get 30 CHA. Maybe 20-25 is cool.

Floris. It also gives you +20 troops per castle, and +20 troops if you're the marshall (I think the latter happens in vanilla too).

No, but if it's a party skill you can upgrade a companion on the same skill and you will get some extra points on it. Points get added slowly though, it's like +4 if both you and another companion/s have it maxed out at 10 (14 in total).

Slavers in general are bullshit, they have terrible HP and strength stats. Only Slaver Chiefs are worth it (then again, not because of their own qualities but because of their bows and elephants).

1.13, nogger

Zann invasion.. first time this far into this mod.
start to understand that eventually it's going to be OK.
all those fucking armies running around with 50-150 with +50 prisoners, start hitting them, filling up my wife's city with a few hundred elite troops.
hit this group at the bridge, me 100 him 130.
huge ass line of archers chopping up those zann fucks.
44 new elite troops for me.

user's I found out about the formula

perisno.wikia.com/wiki/Perisno_formulas

Its really bullshit that you can only persuade them if you're friendly to those factions

...

TLDR
In this mod 2 females are "lord" enabled or whatever so they own fiefs. "3 days" into owning a village the entire map got overun by evil asians so I lost my village, but I share a garrison with my wife because her city didn't fall and she pays the rent on stuff. (I've got about 10 enterprises so I got money coming in too, thank god) Directly after the invasion I had my 2nd feast, and managed to convince people I should be marshal, which is great because the last 2 marshals didnt DO FUCKING SHIT. including my wife Anyways, so the whole faction is like 10 nobles with 30 troops each except 3 nobles who didnt lose a castle/fief. I fucking have single handedly handed out over 1k "rescued prisoners" as marshall and can am getting close to taking back a city. for myself dammit

Wrong. The only way to win Perisno is by uniting the Bakhal and Sut giants so they can build a tower out of themselves to reach the moon and crush the Chinese invaders with it.

I just got a mission while playing 1257 to track down a fugitive, and holy fuck are these villages massive. Are there any other 1257 players that can help me track this fugitive fuck down? Like help me with where the mod places the fugitives?

It asks me to download the latest versionvwhen I try join a native server, wat do?

what if sex mods now that graphics aren't fugly

fugly graphics didn't stop oblivion modders

Persino or PoP…which is better?
I played PoP already. I wonder how Persino stacks up…seems almost the same

How well do the quests work in 1257?
As in will you easily get a quest to deliver cattle/caravan or track down a fugitive on the other side of the fucking Evropa?

Only if you're blind, dumb or both. One reinvents the wheel as a hipster triangle ball thing and the other slaps some tumblrfiction and knight orders on vanilla warband turned up to 11.

In short pop is more mechanically balanced aside from muh elves and persino is a shiny mess of hodgepodge features.

yeah I prefer not to take these missions in 1257 because the villages are massive and I spend ages trying to find them

I have more experience with Perisno, but I think both are fun-ish.

In 1257 xp and rewards are based on distance.

I'm talking about the "track down a fugitive" quest. the one where you have to find a suspicious guy in some fief

that sucks.

Today in Perisno, I met my wife in the final round of the tournament. I proceeded to beat her into unconsciousness without taking a hit.
It's too bad I couldn't dedicate the win to her for the sake of irony.

user, what faction did ya join or Created your own kingdom?

I married Princess Linthradil of Elintor, at that point I aromatically became a vassal and the invasion of the Zann beganfucking black color, couldn't see shit until I figured out how to change it. The elves are fucked on their own, their marshalls are total shit. The first time I was marshall I took a city for myself, after that I took 4 castles and didn't ask for them, they lost 2. They have gotten nothing on their own. I'm about to take back the original eleven capital after 120 days of occupation. I'm going to keep it so shit might go south with my wife, idk.
Being married to a "lord enabled" character is interesting and frustrating. I tried declaring independence once and NOBODY would talk to me because RtR 15, now at 50 I'm hoping for the best.

Throughout your Campaign is it you and your men solo Retaking Castles/towns with waifu or Nobles join in along with Waifu?

Also, Did you have high Relations with Minor Factions (Demon Worshippers, Old gods, new gods and so on) because bastards(modders) changed certain values and now you've just have to be friendly with factions (minor included) to have faction related soldiers to join you and your men

I took that first city with the help of the entire faction when I was marshal because I was under 1k reknown at the time, but first I had to fight a bunch of Zann forces who had taken prisoners and give 50 troops to each of the 10 guys following me with like 30 to begin with. After we had 1k+ we went in and took a town with 2k. – Right now I am solo seiging a city with 2k with a force of 210. (90 super fucking elite crimson archers and 110 sword and boards). I go in and kill as much as I can and leave when I run out of arrows, slowing whittling away at that big number.

All those fucking minor factions piss me off, Aegea in the elf territory does not attack my faction, but she will attack me (kos from start) and elves do not assist me even if I am marshal. that is the one true gay thing about this mod.

Is there some way to turn tax inefficiency
off for enterprises? Perisno .80 or .81 by the way

user, did you use Maccavian Troops as Melee troops because those bastards can rape Most units and the best siege soldiers

How "finished" is Perisno anyway?
I've checked it out quickly and it seems neat, def more interesting than Pendor or many other mods but the empty landmasses on certain locations on certain locations made me wonder.

Theres a book to increase it but its not a whole lot.

it is on version 8.++ so it's fairly well filled in.

Depends on what part of the mod you're looking at. Certain (pet)factions for example are next to abandoned and a mess as their developer moved on to something new or simply went MIA. Strictly speaking new features, the mod was heavily mismanaged for several years months with a certain attention whore scripter promising a shitton and delivered next to nothing and their team leader being more interested in hooking up with a certain trannie and adding shit for the sake of cool than finishing up.

Things are looking up for 0.9 though as both of the said attention whores are out of the picture.

You really should lurk more before you open your cucked, elf loving mouth. For a great example of cut/currently locked features there should be five elf factions alone.

A tolerant/supremacist conflict between reds, a fleshed out blue quest line and two dark elves. And most of those made an appearance before being cut due to being buggy, broken or worse. I especially loved the meltdown one of their devfags pulled when somefag made a thread mocking his typos in the reds civil war quest.

That's not even mentioning half baked content, dead end content, placeholders or like that guy said muh empty areas.

after the Zann invasion, elves just had Elisnore and they lost Lille and Forniron, as I said earlier I took Lille back early, but after that it was just hit and run for a long time, I took 4 castles towards the Zann that I didn't want and didn't ask for them. Just now, I've taken back the original elf capital Forniron and that is certain to piss both the Zann, and also I'm not going to give it up if they don't give it to me. I'm ready this time

just because you suck dwarf dick doesn't mean you can bully me bitch.

Spoken like a true earfag. I take it the next step is to whine about how muh bows need damage buffs?

We, the blessed children of God almighty, have had a long and arduous struggle to achieve glory for our great nation. Our fight is sacred, our cause divine. We also have the superior princess.

What are you crazy? I'll fight you, I'm not afraid of you.

>do okay, usually get 20 guys in a melee except when three or four guys gang up on me
I forgot how to play this game. Should be fun relearning it, but some pointers on recruitment would be appreciated.

If your wife's sons won't help you against Ankars why do you think they'd mess with a few hundred Ritters and Dragoners supported by a few hundred more Perisno champions and man-at-arms? Didn't have a chance to mess with the customizible mercs in the last version, tried that out yet?

Scrollup

I think what makes a lot of the early game trivial is recruiting companion heroes. In vanilla a few join for free and a few cost a little or a lot. Go around and get some. You have 10 party skills you companions need to handle of them while you get some leadership skills.

If you do only 1 thing, get some points in trainer so your peasants become something that can handle bandits in short order. I put 2-5 points on everyone. Training elite troops in like 3 days in vanilla is fun and OP.

My wife won't traitor on her mom.
100 relationship
76 honor
1k more reknown than her.

she's says something weird, I think the script is off.. well, on the bright side, yahoo shows me waifu problems not as bad as wife problems.

Got to second this. What a lot of people don't seem to realise is that trainer gives XP for every level you exceed the recipient by. Since your character is going to be much higher level than all but the top tier troops you can dole out craploads of experience.

God, this mod looks bad.

as far as i know this part of the mod is from "the diplomacy" mod.

I mean the assets. models, textures etc.

I think he was talking about worst princess and her armor. She'd look better in any other hair style.

Anyone else getting new tabs opening when quoting posts?

the elf armor isn't that good to be sure, it is possible for me to change but atm it's quite fucking good stat wise, but that is likely the worst of it (elf armor), I also think that just about every other lady looks more hot and perhaps intentionally (or not) you have to make a choice between hot "sit at home" or "still hot enough" but can field an army.

yes, it's fucking annoying

Yes. Back to the good ol' days of typing it in manually.

Are the trees and grass not some retarded pink color now?

And how are the Giants doing in their war against puny ones as yourself?

It's shite anyway because it doesn't even have freelancer.

*turn me on, fug :-DDD

kek

There's a variety of colours, but only like two pink ones. You can change them though as they're just mere retextures of Native trees.

I'm giving Perisno a try.

So far it feels like a more schizio PoP
Factions seems less distinct and more mix-and-match.

In PoP, you could easily tell a faction troops (no way you would mix Ravenstern and Sarleon) and the factions seemed better made. Plus, custom knight orders.

On the other hand Perisno has proper giant, dwarf and elf factions.

Early game, like really really early game the giant faction got eliminated. I am new to the mod but I was kinda hoping that could be avoid so I saved scummed back like 10 minutes in time and the giants somehow managed to avoid elimination, they sat with just 1 city -forever- but just recently took back their castle in-game. Hopefully your talking about Gut giants– kind of a newfag to this mod

it is a secret

One thing I don't like about PoP is it's attempt at voice overs. Especially for the protagonist.

Pretty much. Two other things you could say that persino has going for is that most of the pop classic assets look like ass and that persino has multiple quality of life improvements such as freelancer, improved tourneyfagging and diplomacy straight out of the box. Some of the troops or troop upgrade paths, though? Plain shit.

Don't remind me.

There's two factions, Bakhal and Sut. They're usually at war.

how the fuck haven't they devs/modders? made it so pathing doesn't fucking suck

ie: ladders on sieges, i get fucked way too often on buggy ladders.

My origin story in Perisno. (TLDR)
seriously don't read it, reading is hard
Likes always I had wanted to remain unattached and uncommitted for as long as possible and like always I get drawn into being a vassal somehow. This time it was because I wanted to marry one of the two princesses of the realm. The elf one had a better personality so I went for it and after I did all the work required to get married she accepted at once and we got married the same day making me suddenly as vassal of the kingdom. After that the Zann invade and promptly reck the entire kingdom sans her city. All the vassals can't do shit as marshal so everything keeps going to shit until I get marshal and take a city back. After that I take a few castles (bad choice maybe in hindsight) but I was hoping for a uncontested award of a second city. It didn't happen so.. civil fucking war.

No matter what I did I could not get a single fucking person to traitor from the elf queen, in vanilla it's easy as shit, but everyone fucking wouldn't fucking do it, including my OP wife.
8 fucking hours later
I've finally managed to wipe out the elf faction, I've got 3 cities and 7 castles. I did that with 3 little tiny ass lords who spent most of time in some elf dungeon. I was as polite and friendly to the elves as I politely took over their lands and when they finally got wiped out I got 6 fairly decent lords with high loyalty and my wife who ignored my pleas and fought me on the field like maybe 15 times (and lost) has finally shown up in my castle looking to swear loyalty. The glory of it all is amazing. Next door in 3 different directions are 3 small factions and 1 big one to the north and south, I got a lot of work to do but now I've got a proper army and number of lords to go about it.

super rewarding experience overall.

I just installed Floris, but which module do I select in the launcher? I want the full experience, so do I just select "Extended" and then "Basic" and "Gameplay" are included?

Extended has everything Basic and Gameplay does. If you are on a toaster then pick Gameplay.

what is the latest version of Floris and is Floris evolved better? Strangely I never tried this mod yet.

I tried dickplomacy but my first follower Ymira complained about selling captured soldiers, how the fuck are you supposed to make money if you can't sell the meat.

I've been playan Floris Evolved, i'd say only annoyance with it compared to latest Floris is that steam achievements wont work but that's only a problem if you like doing them.

Speaking of Floris, what troop trees other fine folks use in it? The complex as fuck? Native or the one that's in between?

in between is good
with the extended one most civs pretty much lose their weaknesses, so going full cavalry against nords or full pikeman vs swadians wouldn't work

They made this mod much easier than I remember it being.
Is the empire a good faction to vassal with or should I look elsewhere?

that is the same as the base game

Native mercenary payments don't scale with army cost though? I mean I get 4k a week for my army, in native it would only be 400?

I think they do scale but probably not as much?

And the amount they pay you changes gradually.
So if you double your army your payment wont double over night it will increase by 500 per week until it is eventually doubled.

Thats definitely how it works on Floris

That hasn't been my experience but it has been a while since I played native. At least in POP, it updates every week. I could go hire mercenaries until I had to pay 10k in wages, my mercenary payment would instantly adjust to be 11k or higher. It's pretty unfair honestly.

in native and ACOK I think merc payments are always less than the army cost (85% or so) so you "are hungry enough" to work. If it pays you more than your costs your merc ass is just gonna get fat on butter.

85% sounds about right for what I got paid.
If its more than your army wages in POP I agree that is a bit too broken.

If the wages update every week in POP you could keep swapping between factions weekly with no penalty?
I think thats the reason for the delay on vanilla. So you have to commit a little bit to the faction you are a mercenary for.

Yeah guess so, not to mention trying to keep track of whatever the fuck becomes what.

Its only a matter of time unless of course you download deluge instead, retard.

a matter of time? wtf are you talking about nigger

I was just checking out PoP since lately some people have been talking about it. I'm having a really hard time getting into it. Because I can't find shit to kill fast enough, I need a day or two sometimes to locate a proper sized enemy and often they are too fast so I can't catch them, the map just feels too empty. Also, when you recruit npc heroes the dialogues are all fucked up especially like a guy says, (paraphrased) "I'm a noble and want be treated better than others" and You get two choices (a) No (…) and (b) No (….). Shit like that shouldn't happen in a version 3.8.2 it's just stupid. Perisno has some script errors too but nothing that makes me facepalm. So far I would consider ACOK to be the most polished of the mods I've played though good fucking luck winning that.

Welcome to almost every mod, ever.

Camping northern bandit or raider lairs is your bread and butter early game, same as vanilla warband really. And you're pretty much expected to tourneyfag or army up with mercs or such fair quality troops and try bullying Jatu midgame.

I've been playing persino these last few days and this exact thing kept popping up. Really makes me wonder why was the weeb&blade guy the only one to prioritize fixing ladders and actually making some effort to port the NPCs instead of jerking over headcanon.

Did you notice how in every dialogue the protagonist hero is always a dick to everyone too? Every single hire is "make one mistake and your shit canned", right from the start. The least diplomatic leader of all time.

er– what am I supposed to be looking at in this photo?

Debatable since plenty of those dialogues go: thank you for sharing you fucking life's story to a complete stranger that just shoved a poleaxe up some drunk moron that bumped him and yes, I'm exactly this born again christian you're looking for.

Me eating my words and you not counting your pop blessings

Its not a photo.

Those castles are impossible to defend though, being locked in the first gate area near the door that will be broken in 10 seconds in an open field against a horde of katana wielding assholes, your going to die fairly quickly no matter what, unless their is some strategy that I just didn't get. I really like this mod otherwise.

Initial archer spawns are some of the best you'll ever see and there's almost always more than one gate with plenty of chokepoints. The keep top floor in particular is a literal meatgrinder where in a handful of hatamoto (and their constant reinforcements) can devastate lesser troops.

As for tactics I found dual wakizashi to be indispensable with their ultra short range and recovery.

I think there is an option to disable gates. I would do it.

nice will try.

What's the most fun faction to play as? I'm thinking of doing a run where I dedicate myself to one faction only and try to make the best out of it. Which is the best faction for doing this?

Swadia, endless feasts and fighting off every other factions at the same time while trying not to get utterly destroyed in the first few months.

swadia since it's a challenge to keep them alive
sarranids since they're shit at everything
rhodoks to piss off cavalry

I was actually thinking this could be a fun swift run trying to help a king take over the land without being a traitor (like always).

Don't you mean Khershits?

khergits are actually good out on the field
sarranids get outclassed in every department

khergits excell on overland maps making quick lazy battles, but with only 2 elite troop types they also do a fine job, imho at everything.

master archers and marmulukes are both fine.

I don't really think one side is superior in vanilla all of them balance out fine.

(checked)
There is one situation in which I find the Sarranids to do best, and that is when the cavalry has lost its momentum and gets swarmed by melee infantry. Other than that, the geography of their homeland is their biggest advantage.
In my opinion, the Khergits are annoying since they are too fast and agile to be effectively killed by anything but light cavalry and horse archers. Since they are clearly superior in both these areas, and hunting them down with other units takes way more time, I've come to dislike them. Running in huge circles for five minutes while occasionally scratching each other with arrows or light lances is not my idea of fun. I might use them more if the AI of player units could use proper cavalry tactics instead of mainly charging head-on.

Mamluks and master archers are arguably the best units of their type. Also their skirmishers pack more punch than you'd expect.

nords do the same or more damage with thrown axes, while not being shit infantry

Absolutely true but you'd still not expect for some discount tourbanfucks to drop sergeants.

Holy shit, it's so much better with mods.

On my first playthrough, named my character after Earl Godwyn of 10th-11th century England and roleplaying as him. Basically using my vassalage to Harlaus to build my own power and supplant his reign eventually. After a rough start I helped Swadia push the borders from Tihr to Shariz. I am lord of Shariz, Veluca and Jelkala. Hold several castles and villages as well. Fun game.

nord axes are nice at 10 yards not so much at 50 yards.

What the fuck. My char just took a bad hit from a Swadian lance and got killed. He does not even appear in the unit list anymore. Goodnight, sweet prince, we had a great run.

I just want to say more or less, that doesn't happen. Even if it did.

Enjoy your ironman achievement. :^)

Not even playing ironman since I hate losing my savegame to some bug or severe bad luck. It's just that I habitually saved right after the battle without checking if being killed instead of knocked out had any effect, and the last other save is several days old.

Count your blessings then. I mean, better lose five days over losing five hundred days.

Are you playing kebab?

Is the latest version still completely broken with lords being indicted for treason every 5 seconds?

I started as a merc and served the Rhodoks and Sarranids for some time, but now I fight for Isolla's claim on Swadia and have conquered the whole area around Uxkhal and Dhirim while Harlaus is reduced to Praven, Suno and one castle. The Khergits really got their shit pushed in and only have three castles left after losing everything else to Sarranids and Vaegirs. My troops mostly consist of Swadian Knights, Rhodok Sharpshooters and Huscarls, with some mercs and freed prisoners mixed in. The Khergits don't bully me at all, it's just that they run circles around my footmen and heavy cavalry while doing almost no damage, and it's annoying to have to corner them.

Last version of what, exactly?

Good man.

only vanilla seemed to have this problem after a certain version.

The closest to vanilla warband I played is the dickplomacy and it's one "treason" per two-three weeks on average.

VC has this so frequently you have Viking lords taking Pict troops into battle at this point.

Vanilla late game treason is spammed and the remaining kings hold most or all of the remaining lands. lords become treasonous because you take away their shit and they blame the king. the king din'do'nuffin.

these seem rather ordinary, other than being pretty accurate

i was referring to the "lord was indicted" 5-10+ times every single day from day ~20 even if you dont do shit.
if you want to avoid that i suggest playing anything that isn't vanilla ver. 1.153. previous versions should be good, or just vanilla with diplomacy/any mod that changes enough. it's completely gamebreaking when every faction is a kitchensink of random factions lords with no fiefs.

Harlaus would be proud.

...

Well tripsman, I just got married, so my wife, who's also Ragnar's daughter confiscated all my butter for the feast

...

I demand further photographic evidence.

Behold Ragnhild, daughter of Ragnar Lodbrok and sister of Sigurd Snake-eyes.

Do I have to say it?

Should've went for the yuri harem.

Feels a bit weird winning a tournament I hosted myself during my feast and gifting myself a rich sword.

I would had liked another cow

It doesn't help that the only eligible maidens in Denmark was Ragnar's daughter and Ragnar's wife Aslaug who would had been like 70 at the time of the game.

never defend yourself for marrying a king's daughter bro. that royal pussy is the best no matter what.

Why settle for one?

What is your preferred tournament equipment set? For some reason I love the 1H axe and shield on horseback combination you sometimes get in Vaegir.

Periso man.. fucking lords just pick way to fucking many fights. Lords with 80 guys will fucking attack anything with 400 guys just because.. whatever.. suicidal bastards always.. sometimes I can save them sometimes I cannot but whoever we kill just comes back in 3 days with 400 more guys.. da fuck man.. the zann are such bullshit

The factions are down to Swadia, Vaegirs, Khergits and sandniggers.
Is there any way to seek out King Ragnar and set aside old differences so that we can rally the people against the Vaeger menace?

who needs allies~
Caldara I just the patience to go back and steamroll those remaining fucking cities.
Perisno – Just made peace again with the Zann after taking 4 fucking cities from them and maybe 6 castles. Going to spend the next two months throwing butter orgies in Lille while my vassals get time to fill their keeps with troops. I have kept all 7 cities to myself due to that ridiculous +20 reknown each week for building a University in the city. (Army size 471 atm)
Weeblands – going to give that another try soon if I can figure out to disable gates.

bumb

You can't bump the thread. It's over the bump limit.

So I conquered Swadia for Isolla, giving her Suno as befitting her name while keeping the rest of the cities for myself. The real fun started after the war was won.

You know what, it serves me right. Should I keep cucking myself or lock her in the deepest rape dungeon?

That's something each man needs to answer for himself.

True.
