There are a lot of problems with her EMPs. Her passive works like this: the lower Zahls HP gets the more enmity allies get from her passive.
Giving her those 4 EMPs completely flies into the face of this. So the Stamina buff is completely wasted and it's no even a good upgrade to start with. Secondly those two Wind DMG downs are just straight up worse than a DEF node. Finally her healing node is worth almost nothing because healing nodes only increase the health you get from Refresh on yourself. Since her Refresh is fairly weak but long-lasting, you're looking at 30-50HP per turn or an extra 300-500HP over 10 turns at 3 stars.

I upped her wind dmg down and defense node anyway because she tends to randomly explode in a battle, so I'll take whatever helps with that.

300-500x4 is not a bad increase for healing.

You misunderstood, it's 300HP extra on her alone. If you want to raise healing on your allies they need a healing node too. It's something weird with how Refresh is a buff instead of an actual heal.

Probably not, other characters with Refresh like Dark Cag, De La Fille, MC, etc haven't been changed either. Some of them got a healing node because they are classified as healers so there's nothing much they can do without making exceptions or changing how Refresh works.

A new trial character has been released and it's not good. This will most likely be a new Charlotta version and it seems worse than her previous ones. She is a light DEF character who's gimmick is not attacking but C.A.'ing hard. As you might expect, the elment with guaranteed TA doesn't really have much need for something like this. I suppose Clarisse will get a new friend on the bench.

After testing the Hostility up and various other things, other teamcomps, etc. it's looking a lot better. Her hostility up is quite large and the defence she gets is also great to boot. The way her first skill works is as follows: after taking 5 hits her passives caps out and when you ougi your first skill goes on cooldown for 9 turns. She gets bonus damage when she ougis but this is not boosted by her first skill.
Overall she's a lot better than my first impressions let on but i'm not sure she'll replace anyone in the core light teams.

This is a new Light SSR currently in the trial.

Critical and Dark ATK are always good. Reflect and Hostility down can be good if you find her getting hit a lot. Critical should be a priority, her echo can crit so she has the advantage of always being able to use those no matter who she's fighting.

I've been playing for little over 2 months, only have decent wind characters, but I can solo MVP most magnas with the shit I have.

There is no progression wall, just take your time and steadly farm your shit.

I've been told in the past that they do but I actually don't know for sure. I prefer to do NM 70 and take a placebo support summon for the sake of doing them quickly.

The fact you have to grind out around 7 omega weapons to be able to advance further into the story from the need of power makes it a progression wall since it mostly relies on luck to get equipment to get better to be able to advance the story. Then there's the fact you have to bum rides to get more raids for the Primal needed for your preferred element which barely gives you any time to put in a hit if you're lucky.

With magna grids don't you generally want a magna + elemental summon, rather than dual elementals? Or have I been mislead?

Never actually checked this shit with a calculator since the interfaces are routinely awful.

Generally yes, I don't know when considering a 130% summon like Lucifer though.

I'm pretty sure the 100%-130% elemental summons are better than magna summons in every case, because even if you did better with a magna + element, have a 100% equipped means you can just use a much more common magna summon as your support instead.

I know I should be focusing on one element early on so I can start doing magnas and farm my grids but I've been stuck on investing into all my elements simultaneously due to GWs and events.
All my grids sit at around 5.5k to 8k estimated normal damage and about 7.7k to 10.8k damage against the element it has advantage against. My only carbuncles are 2 wind and 2 water ones. I'm pretty dependent on the natural damage reduction from on element fights.
Should I continue investing into all elements or should I focus on one? The only element I can have frontline SSRs is water and one of them is Izmir. Rest of my teams have 1-2 SSRs each except fire, dark and light.
I don't plan to esport or use money to get my stuff. Hence why I'm in a solo crew. I'm currently saving up crystals for summer to hopefully roll summer limited characters.

First of all, join one of the Holla Forums crews. The only one which requires you to be a whale is the 1st crew, where you must spend 0.01% of your country's GDP every year in order to join.

As for maining an element, if this were several months ago I would say pick one and main it. As it stands, it's not such a bad idea to multi element and slowly get overall strength. Keep in mind you will still be relatively weaker than someone who focused an element for quite a long time.

If you don't have Dark Flame Scion (probably not if you are new), grabbing Anat for wind and the Showdown summons for other elements might bolster your estimated damage quite a bit.

I'm doing this too and it's not too bad. I'm prioritizing wind as main element, but sometimes just host a full rotation of magnas and see what comes out.
I can feel the other elements lagging behind a bit, but I ended up being able to solo MVP all magnas except light and dark at around the same time.

I'm not gonna post every grid of every team I have. I'll post my water, wind and earth because water has 3 SSRs + Vane, wind has anat and earth is my weakest element grid-wise. The rest of the elements are in between earth and water with no SSRs.
I should mention I have Macula on my water team as main summon. Earth has Vohu.
I usually use HS and Bishop for my teams to compensate the lack of carbuncles. Using DF if I know I can beat something within 1-2 enemy ougis.

Unfortunately I joined in april. I think march was one of the best times to start this spring, followed by may. I have all showdown summons, including fenrir and cerberus. All lvl 40 except Ifrit which is 60.

You started around the same time as I have, my first event was the Lowain one, but man, you need to step up your grinding game and level up your weapon skills.

You've got some real nice characters and I'm jelly as fuck about that because legfests have been really cruel to me. Korwa and Gawain are Start draw and suptix respectively.
I can't really tell you much other than keep grinding, try hosting your own magnas to get red chests and get those silver bars from the casino to MLB your carbuncles, 50% damage reduction is just great.
Also, do join the third crew, there's no sense in "feeling bad about leeching", you still do contribute and get some extra rewards in the process, plus, you'd be surrounded bu faggots hosting and leeching each other magnas, helping each other out and generally speeding your progression the fuck up.

The biggest reason to joining a crew is for the buffs, especially early on, it could help a ton. The buffs that most crews offer 24/7 are 2 green potions, %20 charge bar at the beginning of the fight, and a %20 drop rate increase, which really helps with magna leeching.
You should really focus on one element, with your shotgun approach, your strongest weapon is the SL7 dagger (which probably isn't MLBed), and when your starting, each point of fodder is really valueable.
Depending on who else you had in earth, I would go for earth, with the water GW coming up, you can contribute by the time it comes around if you were to focus all of your fodder on it. By who else, I'm mean if you had a draph/harvin to put in place of Herja in the times when tezcat is the only summon (with the use of multiple party slots, you can slot in Herja when Alexial pops up).

You're gonna end up leeching one way or another because there is no other way to progress. Magnas die so damn fast or have so much health that'll you'll have to have a godly grid to mvp or no matter what you do you'll end up doing nothing to it and getting pendants early on is a must and you get extra pendants by using R or SR characters and having them be alive after the raid ends.

I've been tunneling my way to a fire grid that I have no grids for other elements but it's still not that good and I don't even know what the fuck am I doing anymore, I'm just learning as I go and just been focusing on one thing at a time. Getting fodder weapons is my biggest challenge and I only found out about skill levels when I started working on my GW dagger two weeks ago and I played longer than you.

Yes. Crit is OP as fuck compared to the about 6% normal mod you'd be losing from two SL 15 katanas. If you were going to use this team for off element though you could trade the ifrit halberds for the katanas though.

Hostility up for sure. After that probably her crit node, and then after that is fair game really. Some people recommend putting it into defense, some people say the EMP passive is an alright investment, but nothing about her EMPs are really a game changer besides hostility+ and crit.

In my defense, I've had Birdman since my second day of playing, while Gawain only hit lv 80 yesterday and I'm saving money to upgrade siero's shop.

I spent around 150 half pots grinding out the showdowns to activate nightmares and about 100 berries in the raids.

I can't really do non raid xeno and I used about 300 berries already. I'm not even sure if it's worth it anymore.

From my experience I only got around 16 vajras from leeching raids by using 100 berries plus whatever ep I regenerated. How many vajras are you from your fourth axe?

Try doing the Ifrit coop, we got 20 ish garnets in an hour of farming it, then host your own raids so you can get that sweet Host red chest and a chance of an entire axe drop.
Farming 35 Vajiras is a bit too much, especially since Kaguyas and TH don't help for shit.

Last Xeno Ifrit, NM60 took me 10 minutes with an elixir to clear.

From experience, having higher level weapons makes the mechanic easier to work with. Or you can go the cheese path with Summer Zooey.

I think Kaguya (once on battle start) and Five (CD 20 turns, and is light anyway, so that's useless for your enmity unless you're running Odin) are the only ones that give Auto Revive besides a bishop using Nirvana and a level 95 Dirt Cagliostro (+Five for Grand Order meems), which are only to themselves.

A lot of dark character benefit from enmity, so it's not a bad idea. The main thing that pulls it all together is S. Zoi though.

That said, judging by what you have on hand you don't have the resources to make it work well right now, so just keep at it.

Also, don't put plus marks on characters. Put them on a weapon (preferably a bahamut weapon) so that everyone in the party gets the benefit.

Don't, Drum Master is a ougi spamming based class, but it lowers MC damage massively (50% ATK down) so with with MC hitting like a wet noodle and Korwa not taking advantage of the CA DMG+ it will be pretty counter productive.

If you plan on maximizing the grid I think 4-5 sticks are enough to use a Colo x Shiva/Athena combo. Rest of your grid should be baha weapon, celestial katana, michael's sword and 1-2 xeno ifrit axes and/or another baha weapon that goes well with your team. I've seen multiple grids but they all tend to gravitate towards that setup unless it's an agni build.
I'm still not sure why most people recommend no more than 5 sticks unlike other magna grids. I might have to do with the base stats but I don't know.

So, what should a beginner like me be doing quest-wise? I'm currently playing through the primary story, but I feel most people would stop at a certain point and grind a raid or side story. I already know about getting Dark Fencer as soon as possible, but should I keep going with the main story or what?

Sure, most people just go through the main story until they hit a roadblock and have to grind something else. Otherwise, just leech raids and do the events.

If you just want to mindlessly grind, you could unlock your co-op stages, or just grind angel halo.

Prioritize events as the characters and loot are very useful. I personally did every side mission I could before progressing the main story. At some point the difficulty of the main story will skyrocket, so you need to do side quests for the experience (and now with character zeniths, experience translates to direct power). Do your daily coop missions. You'll need the blue sky crystals eventually and they are mostly time gated. Also look into the special tab. The showdowns (ie cocytus at the moment) is good for beginners as the summon is a great water main summon before you have enough of a magna grid. Try to keep on top of your EP. It will benefit you in the long run, but since the loot chance is rng, its not too important at the earlier levels.

The main story doesn't cost you anything until Chapter 64, so feel free to do it until you hit a hard roadblock (you can purposefully fail it multiple times to get a boost in stats). If your worried about your AP/EP not regenerating due to it being over the cap from leveling. With EP, I would get to rank 30 for the ability to join Omega raids, hit it once for the loot. With AP, I would spend it on easier sidequests that rewards crystals (you can attempt these, if you fail, you get a AP refund).

With legfest coming up, I would try to gather as many crystals.

Jokes aside, get Naoise. He's a decent fire tank and he has a 5* upgrade to keep him relevant until you have fire SSRs to replace him. However, you'll need to get 750 loyalty points with him before 9 p.m. JST, which is about 9 hours or so from now, to keep him.

Make sure to finish your pinboard missions. At the end of it you get a draw ticket that will guarantee an SSR character.

the pool of characters in your startdash don't change over time, which is why starting during legfest is a bonus to it

I bought my start dash long ago. I've put hundreds of hours into this game and I figure $25 was fair enough to throw cygame's way for all the fun.

If a character is in your start dash you can purchase them at any time your start dash promotion happens. This includes limited characters like Anchira and Summer Zoey. It's why people recommend starting the game when there's a legfest going on.

I got my Belle Sylphid from a rare monster encounter during the Amalthea or Golonzo story chapters.

It's probably to prevent players from constantly running and retreating from the same mission to force the rares to pop out, as uncleared quests cost only 0AP, so you'll need to clear them to set the flag.

After 30+ fights with Belle it finally dropped the summon. But during my last run someone had this carbuncle on the support summon page at misc. I can't find anything on google about it. I didn't borrow it because I thought it's a normal one with some kind of exclusive "skin" from who knows what event. But now I noticed the aura is inferior to a peridot so it seems like a completely different summon.
Anybody knows anything about it?

It's a G-point summon. You can see it in-game if you go to Shop, scroll down, click on Point Shop, G-Points.
This version of Carbuncle gives a %30 cut when used, and can be cross-summoned for that amount, while normal carbuncles only give %25 when cross-summoned from another person.
You can get G-points from buying the Famitsu Magazine off of Bookwalker, it's about 350 Yen for 100 G-points, or about 1 Carbuncle/2 Draw tickets.

They come fully MLB'ed when you get them, the JP wiki says that they give 30/30 Element up/element cut when MLB'ed, and notes that they don't exist non'MLBed.

Hmm that's weird. I typed my last post without looking at them. It states 20% damage cut when you check them in game. And 15% debuff resist aura. I'm guessing they are programmed to instant MLB upon purchase or there's a text error.
Oh well regardless, they are probably handy with coordinated raids/co-ops to achieve full damage cut using Phalanx while sharing it with someone who doesn't have that carbuncle element.
