Just got Dungeon Travelers 2 with the 10% off coupon, and have preorders down on the two previously mentioned titles.

There's always been shovelware that does that, that's nothing new, you're probably just more aware of it thanks to things like the Internet making it easier than ever to keep up with everything and anything. Anyway, if video games aren't your primary hobby, I can understand not being able to take the time to devote to learning how to read them, though I often wonder how people who love video games enough to come to Holla Forums other than shitposters and shills can't see the value in reading them.

Just started Caligula Effect. The story, characters, and this Affinity System thing all seem really dumb. The saving grace is that the battle system seems amazing.

How expensive is a 64gig memory card? My local game store actually got one in and is selling it for $120. I still really don't think I want to go spending that much.

Also working on getting the complete NA physical release. I've got 91/201 games released so far, if my list is correct. I understand some are a waste of money and why bother getting a full library. But I always though it would be cool to have one, and after getting all the rare vita stuff already I figures why not.

Vita memory cards are retarded expensive because Sony used a modified SD card for them instead of just using normal shit. 64GB Vita cards are 100$ on Play-Asia so, with shipping probably about the same price but if you're importing other shit or look elsewhere it's probably cheaper to get it online.

Anecdotal evidence suggests that the 64GB cards are more prone to failure but the bigger issue is that if they do Sony doesn't offer any warranty with the 64GB cards outside of Japan.

If that turns out true, then updating a Vita is almost an act of malice, but I'm optimistic people will figure something out. Right now, I don't consider it worth paying for another Vita and memory card or losing Adrenaline on my existing Vita just for the 3.61+ games.

I hardly see the point in a PSTV, definitely not for hacking since a PC can do anything Adrenaline can, and you'd want most of your Vita games portable.

I've ripped most of my cartridges via MaiDumpTool so I don't need to take them with me. The exception is Minecraft since its _patch didn't want to install correctly, not sure why it doesn't work.

I'd suggest playing the first one before the third one when it eventually gets released, or at the very least watching the animu. Some shit happens in Futari no Hakuoro that won't make much sense if you're not familiar with the characters of the first game/animu. Itsuwari no Kamen is more or less fine to go into blind though.

I got a question. Thinking about buying the Japan only 64GB memory card for Vita, but then I saw some reviews (compared to the mostly positive reviews0 that said the thing is faulty and only lasts a year or less before crapping out. Then checked the US 32GB reviews and the one star reviews say the same thing. So is there any truth to the there being problems with the Japanese 64GB memory card? Majority of reviews are positive, but I want to know before putting down $100 for it. Some people said this is normal for memory cards in general that have been written to too many times, but I'm not sure. Has anyone had problems?

I've bought mine like 2 years before and still no problems. The only problem I had with a memory card it was a 8gb memory and stopped working because suddenly resets to a VitaTV.

I've had one since they released them and mine still works fine. I guess it's luck of the draw, but it's also worth bearing in mind that people who get faulty products are more likely to leave reviews for them than those who don't have problems.

Mine gave me some guff a month or so back; specifically, it wouldn't boot games I downloaded ages ago but never played. But a backup & format of the card fixed the issue (seems they weren't downloaded properly).

Had it for almost 2 years at this point.

I'd recommend Muramasa Rebirth as a good place to start (assuming you'e not looking solely for dating sims; it's a scrolling action RPG) as far as building up a backlog. Fun game, looks great, has an awesome OST, and a much better English translation than the Wii version prior saw. Shouldn't be too expensive either, though I'll admit that in looking for stuff locally, I don't see copies of it all that often despite not bing a slouch in sales (by Vita standards, any how).

Where I am, Gravity Rush is the most prevalently findable Japanese developed Vita game. Gamestop gets the occasional copy of Muramasa Rebirth in (and they're priced at $20 if memory serves, but I don't make a habit of going there much, so that might be wrong), but aside from that I've never really seen it locally. Strikes me as one of those games people with a Vita tend to not trade in (assuming they didn't just opt to buy it digitally).

I don't mind some side scrolling RPG action, however I am looking for pure dating sims as well. I got it, essentially, to be my weeb machine where I can sate all my animu gaming desires.

Oh sweet. For those running "backups" of games it's possible to get rid of those stupid screenshot watermarks. All it is is a .png file somewhere in the folder, so you can replace it with another .png file, preferrably empty. I highly recommend to keep the dimensions the same, and make sure it's not larger than the original though. Unfortunately where it is located depends on the game, so you'll have to search. It's also possible some games will hide them in some other file, but I haven't run into that.

Mine is spotty with games, sometimes I have to download a game a couple times for it to download "properly" or I get glitches like stuttering video and games that won't save. I want to play Trails of Cold Steel 2 but I'm scared shitless of my game save fucking up.

After more digging the other option is a taiHEN plugin "Screenie". This works on any loaded programs but takes an eternity for one screenshot and saves them as .bmp files. L+R+Select is also a sucky trigger.

Turn it off and on again. You left it in sleep mode for too long. The file isn't lost. This happens with some vitamin dumped games, there's an easy fix that involves going in and making a new folder, but I forget exactly which one. Prevents it from happening at all.

This was MaiDumpTool dumped, and it wasn't in sleep mode when it happened.

yeah I have the same issue with a mai dumped DT2, once you know about it though its easy to circumvent.

Henkaku gets unloaded from memory if the vita goes into deep sleep, so make sure you save before you put it away for the night.

Save data bug has a fix, look it up.

Yeah this is why I didn't update, because I expected new hacks might come, but not necessarily ways to install them on new systems, much like with the PS3 which is nigh untouchable on certain models, while the earlier ones are PSP-tier.

That's how they need to do it. Even then you can't possibly prevent all bricks, it's happened with the A9LH installer but very rarely. Most of the time it's PEBKAC. I'm definitely not going to rush into the new hack.

If HENkaku is loaded (it will be, check your firmware string in settings) you won't be able to reinstall it, even if you can access one of the entrypoints without quitting the game. The only way to unload it is to power your Vita off.

Speaking of, I've noticed Vita is really inconsistent with what can be running at the same time. One game stopped any PSN downloads that I had going (might've been DT2) and a few don't let you open the browser. Maybe it's a memory thing, but it doesn't seem to have any rhyme or reason. Hopefully none of them block the music player.

Oh I've always been closing games before putting it away too. Guess that was a lucky choice on my part.

Yeah… It will most likely not happen. From what I have seen with their Twitter account, they pushed that Hakuoki game real hard which would possibly mean that they spent a pretty coin to promote it. I would also believe that MeiQ LE did not sell well, so perhaps they will be more wary on making more LEs.

Er, no, I don't believe so. You can run the browser without having to close anything. As far as diagnostics go, you're not getting any diagnostic from the device. Chances are, any problem you've had has been experienced by another person, and it's either been solved, discussed, or is being worked on.

Having background processes running concurrently is going to depend on how much memory an application uses.

MeiQ doesn't let you for some reason, it'll even be so nice as to close the browser without warning if you try loading it.

As far as I know the only way to update a dumped game is to reinstall legitimately, update, then redump the thing. Sucky, but on the plus side few games you can run on a hacked Vita are receiving updates anyway.

Besides installing it, you need to change the game's load method in MaiDumpTool, try 5 first, then 6 if that doesn't work.

I've seen Dragon's Crown for maybe $28 on the PS3 where I live, and I want to say about $20-24 for the Vita. $36 seems to be quite a bit for it, though I assume that that might be an unopened copy if it's that price.

The left joystick on my vita is starting to fuck up only a few weeks after getting it. Granted it was used but that doesn't make it any less annoying. Every time I move the stick there is a 50/50 chance it will start drifting either up or right even after i've let it go. Not even consistent, sometimes it kind of edges forward in spurts, others it scrolls nonstop. Luckily I'm playing a turn based game currently so I can work around it.

It seems a pain to get in Ausland. PSN doesn't have it, can't buy at local place, Amazon USA isn't great either but it's the best I've found, eBay copies are scalped or priced about the same. Pirating would probably be the sane choice.

The earlier SRW Z games, Z on the PS2 and the Z2 duology on the PSP, have King Gainer, but sadly it was dropped for Z3. It's also in SRW K on the DS.

Yeah, a lot of good stuff got cut from 2 to 3 like Gainer, Xabungle, and Dancougar, which is understandable with how big the cast list has gotten, but is extremely frustrating when garbage like Gundams SEED and 00, as well as Code Geass and Macross Frontier are still hanging around despite their stories being long since finished.

I'm lucky enough to have local options for buying games, but Amazon AU is a complete dead zone, it sucks. What I really should've done was used a USA PSN account but it's a bit late for that.

I'd say to keep looking around then. I see Dragon's Crown around somewhat often, though admittedly more so for the PS3 version, and I do live in NA so I'm not sure what your local print size was like.

Bear in mind that with the Vita it;s one account per card at a time (unlike the ability to readily switch what account is logged in on, say, a PS3). Plus you'd need to get NA PSN specific Playstation Store codes to put stuff in the wallet.

They have the PS3 version, but the Vita version hasn't been stocked for a while. All Vita games there are imports so it depends whether they can get their hands on the things new. Online would definitely be cheaper than that.

Whatever you do, whenever you finish playing the DanganRonpa, DanganRonpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls, and DanganRonpa 2 Goodbye Despair which is the order I would recommend, you have to watch the anime series DanganRonpa 3: The End of Hope's Peak High School. In that, everything from those 3 games is wrapped up and resolved. But the way you want to watch the series is by alternating the episodes in each arc like they did on release. So you'd want to watch Episode 1 of the Future Arc, then Episode 1 of the Despair Arc, then Episode 2 of the Future Arc and so on. Is it possible to load illicitly acquired PSP disc images on an up to date Vita?

My PSTV is almost definitely before 3.60 though, that's why I wondered if it was possible to sideload stuff from there. I'm just tired of playing PSP2 with the PSP's little thumb joint destroying nubbin.

If you can't find anything locally, you can always buy online. Importing is also an option, as the Vita is physically region free (though if you're going to use DLC, with rare exception, it has to be from the region of the game cartridge itself).

Yes. However, do note: With the Vita, you can only have one PSN account active per memory card at a time, and the PSN is regionally locked as far as payment goes. If you live outside a region and want to use their PSN, you'll need to acquire Playstation store cards/codes for use in that region to add money to your wallet.

I might also add that the NA PSN is probably the better option between the NA and PAL ones, since as far as classic games go, NA saw a number of games PAL never did, and which have never been brought to PAL since then (despite the PSN striking me as a good way to finally give regions games they missed out on prior). If it's of that much interest, check the US Playstation store's website and see if there's enough to warrant going outside your region.

I went for a brute force party to go thru depths very straight forward

Grishna: Valkyrie lv46, front row
Big on phys damage mitigation and dadealus/ether strike with about 5 points in cross slash. When the fight starts I can spam Ether strikes from the back row so it hits the Mary and the Beard ontop of the Boss.

Yae: Dark Lord lv44, front row
I've found out its just better to ignore berserk and only use Power Charge. With some luck her passive proc and I can enjoy 2 strikes while buffed by PC, mainly using frost slash and megaton agaisnt solo targets. Can kill both mary and beard in 2-3 hits

Melvy: Witch lv45, back row
When the Mary and Beard are still alive, spam lv5 lightning with lv6 magic mastery. When they die I try to proc Slow on the Boss so I get hit by Karma a few less often

Fiora: Bishop lv44, back row
Usual circle heal/ressusitate spammer, I usually use Justice on the boss whenever I'm able to to proc the Defence Down effects with no effort. Can actually survive most magic damage and can refresh Moon Curtain, ontop of her passive.

Connette: Mistress lv47
Use lv5 Waltz first thing, then lv3 clean then spend time either trying to interrupt, ressustitate and use items. Usually Silence and Paralyze are frequent procs but the boss seems immune to it. Enticing love is good for fishing for crits but that damn fucking boss will never, ever get interrupted.

Using Forest Fairy Grand Sealbook for more frequent crits.

Overall I have somewhat enough success as long as I can avoid getting hit by Karma. I'm thinking about stopping all Grinsha damage to make her spam both moon curtain and spell guard to make up with the lost of all buff post Karma, keep Fiora on healing while trying to get Yae to slap the boss's ass for 1k per attack. The boss seem to not have good hp despite its massive defence and I can easily get rid her buffs with Yae's Aura Eliminate, altho I feel like I'm getting less lucky with rolls as the fight goes on. What happens is now I can reach the 2nd phase somewhat reliably but I get fucking wiped because I'm too weak when I'm done with the first phase.

Yeah that's the error you get with 3.61+ games if running HENkaku. It'd be an update nag if you weren't. Sorry. But you're strongly recommended to keep it at 3.60 since there was recent hacking progress and it may get better still as they learn about the system.

Also yeah, there's no issues with region except with PSN, and DLC for games. Unfortunate if you have a mixture of cartridges, as most people do, or if a game isn't in your region.

Are you fighting Ifrita or the Archdemon? If it's Ifrita, I'm pretty sure she has an interruption resistance.
Do you have War Cry on either Grishna or Yae? It's basically a must have with physical attackers. Keep that refreshed along with cover/parry.

Berserk is worth it in fights that you know will last multiple turn cycles, although once you get the Therian seal it's worthless and you'll want to restat - that's postgame though. Use Berserk. The defense debuff can be cured with a max rank Nurse.
Use Loose Spirit if you have it, the accuracy debuff is negligible if you have a few ranks in Nirvana (and it's Nursable).

Justice debuffs don't stack IIRC, smack the boss with it once and then focus on heals/barriers. Moon Curtain priority should go to Fiora over Grishna, because choosing to refresh Cover versus Moon Curtain is annoying and can get someone squishy killed. I also prefer casting Slow from a Bishop instead of a Witch because casting it from a Witch is cast time that could be spent using a damaging spell.

I'm sorry but I just can't stand using a Mistress. I hate whips and they don't stack up to the support you get from an Etoile, IMO. Remember that Etoiles get Magnificent Steps, which is an uncounterable skip-a-turn passive. At max rank it procs enough to make a noticeable difference in incoming damage.

Also, what do your equipment stats look like, what sort of sealbooks do you have equipped, etc. You might want to consider the grand sealbook that buffs your attack and defenses when you have a shield wearer in the front row.

The first big name vidya kikestarters were Wasteland 2 and that half of a game Mr. Shitface made. They're the ones who set the ball running.

I'm assuming you mean levels and not just points (in which case that'sa bout Lvl3). Either way, Lvl 5 is a sweet spot for anything that's not postgame.

Brave. You need to be prebuffing every boss fight. Your Brave should be at least Lvl 3. It is the strongest Phy Atk buff in the game and by and large is meant for pre-battel application. It lasts longer than War Cry or Circle Brave and saves you having to spend on War Cry except in mid-fight when you have a breather moment or a need to counter a debuff.

You will need the Berserk/Brave/Powered combo all at once in postgame. Make seeking out the Therian Crest your priority 1 in the postgame.

Stop spamming AOE attacks and swap to Muon Plasma. You need to start learning to drop singles fast as fuck because going all three at once will fuck you up in stuck battles and boss fights.

Those are the fights in a dungeon that completely rape you through speed, monster debuff/status strikes (sleep/stun/instakill) and a LOT of fucking luck crits. The game is insanely capable of giving your opponent a series of perfect fucking D20 rolls. And that's not considering solo strong monsters.
Your Valkyrie needs points in Spell Guard. It's a fraction dmg modifier ward. It's expensive as shit, but it makes sure you can tank Karma and hopefully get a Circle Heal off in adequate time.

Also, this goes without saying but make sure all targets are actually weak to Lightning or you're wasting time and attempts to damage.

A mace build for backrow? You'd be better off if she had a status afflicting Mace in her hand and for her to take prime. But that's me and opinon. A risk like front row for such a squishie has to have a trade off. It's the reason I run one of the dlc magic users as my Mace Bishop (Charu - has a Unique that's auto Delay Turn on physical attack. Tack on another debuff and Double Attack, and she's good to go).

CLEAN FIRST. Can't stress that hard enough. Finale is just where speed will actually start mattering, so time to dump points into Clean. She needs to also be your backup for War Cry—unfortunately it's been way too long so I don't remember what debuff bosses have in the Library Depths.

Your first round of turns should be about using all the buffs you need, & then enemy debuffs. Focus fire on one enemy at a time and drop them. It'll be far easier to deal with a boss group minus one in a short amount of time, than to struggle with all three/four able-bodied as you chip at them w/AE attacks.

Karma is/should be a rare spell at that point. Honestly, if you have an Enchantress on hand, swap Fiora away for the Enchantress and utilize Sun Viel and Circle Heal, as well as Bible Thump (you may luck out and the boss doesn't have a Mute defense). Aside of that, my recommendation is CRIT character—swap Melvy for an Assassin with Weak Stab or go for Souffle who has a Unique that auto-crits chanting/singing/dancing monsters.

You mean when meeting an Onimusha with its pocket Samurai and Kunoichi that use a full party range skill that will not only TPK you in 2-3 hits but also delay your turn long enough to be hit once again? I know, thats why I save each after each fight/good amount of progress in the dungeon.

I would only take the mace because tome would only marginally increase my healing output at that point, while I can get more things going with Justice inbetween healings while still having access to circle nurse.

Yeah you're right, I have Souffle at around lvl 35 as an archer/treasure hunter with that bow skill that attacks like 3 or 4 times. With some grind that'll be something more useable from the back row. Thanks for the tip.

Debatable. Dark Lord branch and Joker branches both net you with extra skill points to spend toward the later end of maxing out at Lvl 99 (Joker moreso than Dark Lord), so it's one of those "just to be safe" kind of investments, in case you need your support doing something else more critical and can afford a damage turn skip. Not vital, but more an issue that comes down to personal preference. But yes, Therian Crest should be priority 1 otherwise. I'd also forgotten to mention Loose Spirit, so excellent catch. Lv 8 Nurse can purify the negative statures on Defender (Valkyrie), Loose Spirit (Witch), Berserk (Dark Knight/Berserker) and High Risk High Reward (Trickster).

Entirely correct. To my own testing, it's a pain because it will override certain other attacks, such as a Kunoichi's Earth Scroll, or the Samurai's Armor Pierce. So it's a skill you only want to use in combo sequence with other debuffs. Waltz/Justice is a good combo as neither steps on the other's toes and the debuffs stack. But you want the second Mace skill if you intend on using your Bishop as a support damage dealer (and there ARE periods where a bishop—or any character—will end up with a free turn or two and be at a loss for action).

High probability Stun/Silence attack, a 1 - 5 strike that doesn't trigger most counters (bar Gravity Well), spare War cry, highest level builds involve strong defense & one-handed whips, on top of the already OP-as-fuck Maid class with whatever you feel adequate as backup (Dancing or Singing). It does come down to preference, but there's most definitely ways to make a Mistress worthwhile.

I hear the opposite in the SJW grapevines, stating that NISA's effort doesn't hold well against the initial fan translations. But honestly I can't care a lot—the same lot drove me away from ever wanting to play that game. Ace Attorney style games and I also do not get along, I've come to learn.

But yes, damn-good save philosophy. The Earth Dragons are the bigger threat, tho. Bottom level is good grinding but ha ha holy fuck it's dangerous. Reaper has a ohko pure damage attack, Stheno can stone you instantly, The Doom Knights can and will take gross advantage of you getting dogpilled, the Earth Dragon can kill you easily, the Vampire can kill you if you're not paying attention, the Kraken is still a threat at that stage…heh, good times.

Sound strategy. You'll want to consider the second mace skill later on, as like Bible Thump, it's got a RES-based modifier and thus is not pure physical damage (read: gets a surprisingly good damage dealt. Especially if the enemy's debuff'd).

If you have the Tree of Tvr (spelling? I should be sleep) open, take your most-reliable damage dealers in a pack of 2 or 3 to sharpen that out.in short order on floor 1. That way you get your Seimei Roots and your levels. You definitely want to be at least in the 45 range to be fighting those two titty monsters okay fine—one and a half titty monsters

If you feel you want to utilize Melvy more, swap Mistress for someone that'll buff her magic attack (Bard) or weaken the enemie's elemental resistance (Etiole). The numbers going into the negative means they'll take 1.5 penalty damage in that elemental category.

That is indeed the issue if you want to make proper scans. Doing so requires undoing the binding so you can flatscan pages one at a time, otherwise you'll usually end up bending the book out of shape, or wind up with scans where the edge pointing towards the center bends away, causing distortion. I'd be surprised though if there wasn't some sort of (paid) service around to rebind books that have fallen apart, or been taken apart for scanning. Though given Dungeon Traveler's lewd nature, one might even have issues in regards to getting something like that done.

On a related note, it seems that DT2 has had its artbook unbound and fully scanned if you know where to look. I wouldn't be surprised if someone out there was looking into doing the same for DT2-2 already. Still, it's something to consider if nothing happens.

DR3 isn't that bad. A lot of people hate it because it ruined some of the characters like Mukuro and the ending was fucking retarded, but I think it's still worth a watch. Just make sure you play all the games and read DR Zero first (if you were planning on reading it), because it's full of spoilers for everything in the series.

Finally did it earlier at work!

After having ground up 1 level with souffle I decided against levelling her from 35 to 45 so I went back and picked Melvy again. I changed my strategy from "trying to prevent her to cast Karma at all cost" to "Protect and recover". Karma has a long cast before use, long enough for all my team being able to take 1 action. During that time I would prep Fiora with circle heal for after the hit lands and make Gryshna use Spell Guard that I previously pushed to lv2 from the small grinding session I had. Even during her 2nd phase, none of my party members would die if they were at full HP before the hit landed, and wouldnt even drop below 50% if Moon Curtain and its tiny cast time, this skill is fantastic was up. Otherwise I used Material Guard to keep the party from dying to summons.

I had both Yae and Connette on a 3 move rotation after each Karma; Yae would berserk, then Charge then use Geo Break since both phases is not as resistant to Earth as the other options, as a found out while Connette would Clean, then Waltz then War cry. Usually War Cry would be used before Yae could attack so it would counteract the occasional phys. att. down debuff the boss does and ensure maximum damage. Under these conditions Yae would hit for 1.2k to 1.7k AND with some luck her passive would proc and would attack twice before Charge fades. After that if Karma wasnt being used I would alernate Charge and attack for Yae and make Connette use Shattertortes or try to crit the boss out of casting.

I had Melvy go Loose + Gaia Crusher and mainly use items. While she could have been replaced by a treasure hunter with better speed like Souffle, I gave up on grinding 4 hours in and she was good enough.

Fun thing: When the boss would use Shock Spiral on the back row it would actually triggers Connette's passive and inflict slow on her. Its not something you can rely on but damn it made thing easier when it happened.

It took me 3 tries since I last posted and all 3 times I've beaten at least the first phase. Now I can tackle the remaining places left to do in the normal map and then exit the tutorial and begin the new game.

I did forget it provides you with a bit better buff than Sun Veil. I preference Sun Veil as my Sage is actually faster than Fiona (Book Bishop) and thusly I can reup several spells on a moment's notice as needed. Status attacks, speed buffs (the burnout/turnover time is short and I need to find the factors that are responsible. Spieler/Treasure Hunter's self-speed buff lasts longer and is far more potent than Acceleration. Rather unfair). Curtain is a great equalizer until you get to…ah, well. You'll see. And you'll scream when it happens. It's a pile of unfair stacked on top of more unfair.

I need some CFW help. I have a PSTV that I have set up with a USB drive for a memory card - every time I reboot it, I have to activate henkaku, then mount the USB drive from VitaShell, then mount it to ux0. I'm trying to use the ePSP bubble installer to prepare it for the Adrenaline installer, but it doesn't install correctly, which I think has something to do with the fact that it reboots immediately and unmounts the USB drive.
Has anyone set up Adrenaline on a PSTV/USB setup before, and could you tell me how you did it?

Not that serious. It just means you can lose the ability to save your game if it's left open when it enters sleep mode. Closing and reopening the game will fix it, it's just a problem if you have to lose progress in a game.

You could try play asia, I imagine the Japanese have much more shit to customise their Vitas than we do.

I just started my second run focusing more on grunt suits than super robots. Was really a shame that I love the yamato but all the route splits that follow it are awful. Also the joystick on my vita has been fucking up and it's been a pain in the ass to navigate menus because of it.

Yeah, Yamato got stuck with a lot of the garbage routes, though at least it got the best of the three way split when Hades shows up Ah well, that's what second playthroughs are for.

Do be wary, since most of the Gundams are pretty weak even when fully upgraded, so you may need to save some TacP for pumping up Amuro and Judau's 射撃 stat.

Again, don't bother with Western releases to begin with, if they're not glitched and bugged to break the hardware, they have cut content or censored dialogue/visuals. Just stick with the original releases.
